The digital marketing landscape for home care agencies is experiencing a seismic shift as AI-powered search transforms how potential clients find care services. Valerie Van Booven delivers a compelling deep dive into this new reality where traditional SEO tactics alone no longer guarantee visibility.

When someone searches "How much does home care cost in St. Louis?" or "Can I get paid to care for a family member in Nebraska?", Google and ChatGPT now provide comprehensive answers directly at the top of search results—often without users needing to click through to any website. This fundamentally changes the game for home care agencies seeking to connect with potential clients online.

Through real-world examples and screenshots, Valerie demonstrates how agencies that create structured, authoritative content addressing real client questions consistently appear in these AI-generated summaries. The agencies winning in this new environment aren't just focusing on location-based keywords like "home care in Fairfax"—they're creating valuable content around the questions people actually ask: payment options, caregiver compensation, and service comparisons.

The strategies for success include developing comprehensive service descriptions, building location-specific content, maintaining active business profiles on Google and Bing, securing and responding to reviews, and creating FAQ sections using natural, conversational language. Perhaps most importantly, agencies should regularly "AI themselves" by searching for their business in ChatGPT and Google to understand what information these systems are presenting about their services.

Ready to ensure your home care agency doesn't become invisible in AI search? Implement these proven strategies to strengthen your digital presence and connect with more clients in this new era of AI-powered discovery. The agencies that adapt quickly will gain significant advantages as these technologies continue to evolve and reshape how care decisions are made.

Speaker 1 (00:00):

the co-owner of Approved SeniorNetwork, and these lovely
ladies that are with us are theactual stars of this show.
But today I'm going to betalking about AI, which is fun
for me and maybe not fun for you, but I am a total nerd for the
Internet stuff, so I'll let youguys.
Do you need to reintroduce?

(00:20):
Doesn't everybody here know whowe are?
I think so You're welcome tointroduce yourself.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Hi Lisa, Hi Vanessa, Hi everybody, I'm Dawn.

Ah, right, right, yes, indeed,okay.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Housekeeping.
If you guys can mute your lines, that'd be great.
I know everybody's busy andI've heard more McDonald's
drive-thru orders than I cancount.
So, yeah, mute your lines andthen share stories, experiences,
tips, ask questions, makerecommendations.
Ask questions, makerecommendations.

(01:06):
Tell us what you want to hear, because we're happy to integrate
whatever it is that you'rewondering about or add it to
something we're already doing.
Lisa and in that and you guyswant to talk about this, we're,
yeah, we're gonna skip a weekright, yeah, so I guess that's
pretty much it.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
the reminder is there will be no Continuum Mastery
meeting on Wednesday, july 2nd.
Happy 4th of July.
Everyone will be, maybe not in,so we just wanted to skip that.
And the next one when's the oneafter that, annette?
Is it July 18th?
The?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
16th.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
July 16th 16th.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
I thought so Sorry, we're skipping the 4th.
We just figured everybody'sprobably going to be in vacation
mode and maybe away.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
And we might be a little busy too.
Yes, so we will skip that weekand we'll certainly send
everybody out the reminders forthe next one coming up and as it
gets closer you'll get all ofthe Nets, amazing texts and
emails.
So the agenda for today we'regoing to do a little
introduction to AI and searchunderstanding AI, search results

(02:14):
, how AI picks winners, whatthese systems look for, specific
actions home care agenciesshould be taking.
Now I have not so much ademonstration that's a weird
word but more we could go liveand on my screen and look some
stuff up.
But I screenshotted a wholebunch of different examples for
you and you can copy off of meand type those searches in and
see what you get and then LeaveBehinds with Lisa.

(02:35):
I think that should just belike Leave Behinds with Lisa.
That is just a great segment.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Sounds really good too.
Leave Behinds with Lisa.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Okay, so let's talk about AI.
So Google search is changing.
If you've done a Google searchrecently maybe not for, like,
pizza near me or restaurant nearme, but if you've done a Google
search for anything that's moreof a question about how or why
or when or something like thatyou're going to get AI

(03:09):
generative search.
You're going to get like aparagraph of an answer.
Google doesn't want you toleave the homepage, it doesn't
want you to leave its page atall.
It wants to give you everythingyou want right now.
So you can see right there.
On my example, it says wherecan I get home care in West
Winnemucca, nevada?
And I use that as a jokebecause literally there's
nothing in West WinnemuccaNevada as far as I know, not

(03:31):
much anyway.
Not very many people live there, so I just use that as a random
example.
But if you ask where, when, how, why, then you'll get more of a
generative search answer, andso in this case we do not have
any clients there.
You'll see a lot of our clientsin some of these answers when I

(03:52):
show them.
But in this case, kindredCompanion Home Care provides and
Genesis Home Health CareServices, and so you can see
what it's coming up with.
It doesn't want you to have toleave this page to find the
answer to your question.
So, from traditional search toAI-generated answers, we used to
get the 10 blue links and nowAI provides full conversational

(04:15):
answers at the top, oftenwithout a need to click.
You can see all the littlelinks that are at the end of
these little sentences there.
You can click on one of those.
You can also see the websitesit's referring to on the
right-hand side of your page.
Now, this is all on desktop.
I didn't do anything on mobile, but it's going to be

(04:36):
essentially the same, just in adifferent little way on your
phone.
50% of users are now seeing AIsummaries before website links.
So if you thought showing up onthe first page of Google was
hard before, it's even hardernow, unless you show up in AI
generative search at the top.
So if your agency isn't showingup in AI search results, it's

(04:56):
like being invisible in aconversation where decisions are
being made.
So we want you to show up atthe top, and the way that
happens is a little differentthan your traditional search
engine optimization.
Seo is still going to be veryimportant, but we're going to
change over.
There's a lot of people call ita lot of things.

(05:17):
Now they call it instead of SEO, aeo and general SGE.
So all of these mean basicallythe same thing.
So we're going to talk aboutGoogle and ChatGPT, since I know
there's a lot of AI you couldchoose from.
There's perplexity.
There's hundreds of themprobably by now.
But we're just going to talkabout basically Google because

(05:39):
Google's still the leader insearch and we're going to talk
about ChatGPT because everybodykind of recognizes that.
So Google's still the leader insearch and we're going to talk
about ChatGPT because everybodykind of recognizes that.
So Google's AI overview, whichthey call SGE, search generative
experience.
This is what it looks like Ijust showed you on the previous
screen, but it creates a fullsummary box with curated content
from multiple sites.
It pulls answers, frequentlyasked questions and links, all

(06:03):
before the organic searchlistings.
Here's what I did.
Now, sometimes this isn't goingto give you a generative search
.
If you put in home care and Iknow if you're not from St Louis
, you're not going to know whatI wrote there it says home care
in De Pere, missouri.
It's not Des Peres, it's homecare in De Pere.
It's just a St Louis town.

(06:24):
That is weird.
We have a lot of French nameshere, so one of our clients
shows up right away.
All I had to do was type inHome Care in De Pere, missouri,
and Home Care Services in DePere offer a range of options
for seniors and individuals.
And boom, right there.
If you were to click on thatlittle picture, which is
actually a video we created forthat client, there we are.

(06:45):
That next picture down that isPear Tree Home Care.
So if anybody types in and it'snot going to happen every time,
but a lot of times when youtype in some simple search,
you're going to get a generativeAI overview.
And you want to be in thatgenerative AI overview.
You're not going to be the onlyone, you're not going to be the

(07:07):
only reference, you're notgoing to be the only source, but
you definitely want to show upthere.
And if you look to the right atthe bottom, the second little,
the bottom right screen there, you can see that we have done a
lot of graphic imagery andvideos all kinds of things for
Pear Tree Home Care and they arelocated in De Pere, missouri,

(07:29):
so they are showing up betterthan anybody else in De Pere
right now in AI generativesearch.
That's because we have workedreally hard on their SEO, so now
they're seeing the benefit ofthat by showing up in SGE search
generative experience, and ifanybody has any questions, let

(07:50):
me know.
Let's talk about Bing for aminute.
Bing is going to give us acompletely different answer.
It looks more like a Googlesearch answer.
So you can see at the top ofthe screen here, I typed in home
care in De Pere, missouri, andthat was just a chat GPT.
That's it screen.
Here I typed in home care in DePere, missouri, and that was
just a chat GPT.
That's it.
That's all I put in, that's it,and this is what it came up

(08:11):
with.
So in this case, it gave memore like what a Google search
would give us One, two, three, four home care agencies located
near De Pere, and one of them, thankfully, is our Pear Tree
Home Care that we do work for.
Chatgpt is bringing in itsinformation from Bing.
You know how nobody uses Bing.

(08:32):
Guess what?
Now Bing is actually going tohave some semblance of
importance, because it's goingto ChatG.
Gpt searches are all based onBing.
I will say, though, that if youwere totally nerdy and looked
at how Bing gets its information, you would realize or know that

(08:54):
Bing not steals but has anagreement with Google to use
their database.
So Bing is actually getting itsinformation from Google in some
regard, and it's millions andmillions of dollars, or maybe
billions, per year they payGoogle for that information.
So we're still a Google-centricsearch result kind of thing.

(09:17):
But ChatGPT is showing yousomething a little bit different
and a map, interestingly enough.
Ok, so there is ChatGV tape, but what that also tells me is
that for Bing, if you don't havea Bing listing, you know you
can do a Google listing orGoogle business profile.

(09:39):
You also now need to make surethat your Bing profile for your
business is up to date and hasthe right address and you know
who owns it or who manages it orwho's an admin of it, because
if you don't, or it's wrong, then you're not going to show up
in your local search generativesearch results if it's

(10:00):
incorrect.
So make sure you look at yourBing profile If you have one, if
you don't make one, and getthat all up to date.
Bing is becoming more importantStructured, authoritative
content.
Okay, this is what chat and allthe other chat, gpt and Google
this is what everybody's lookingfor is really good content.

(10:22):
Google has always at least inthe last five years or so talked
about EEAT experience,expertise, authoritativeness and
trust.
So at Approved Senior Network,we have gone with the on our
content end, from video towritten content.
We've always tried to go withthe experience, expertise,
authoritativeness and trust, because we know that if we

(10:44):
include all of those pieces in apiece of content that we write
for you or a video that we dowith you, that Google's going to
love that.
We also always make sure thatthe people that we do websites
for have the correct schemamarkup and even more than a
plugin will do for you.
And if you've ever looked at oneof our websites or if you have

(11:06):
a website by us that's beencreated in the last couple of
years, you'll notice that thebottom of every page, every
service page and probably almostevery page on your website,
there is a frequently askedquestions list, and what I want
you to know about that is, thosefrequently asked questions are
written in an LLM manner, whichis another nerdy thing.

(11:30):
That means large language model, so we don't ask SEO type
questions in the frequentlyasked questions.
We say, okay, let's ask largelanguage model, meaning how a
human being would ask thisquestion.
Let's ask this question andthen let's answer it.
So we have a whole set offrequently asked questions.
On most pages it's always atthe bottom.
So it's a whole set offrequently asked questions.
On most pages it's always atthe bottom, so it's not

(11:53):
interrupting the flow of whatyou wanna show people at the top
.
But those frequently askedquestions are written in a way
that ChatGVT and Google searchengines love.
So that's something we've beendoing for a very long time and
we have service area pages.
So if you have specific townsthat you service, there is
probably a page for each one ofthose towns that you really love

(12:16):
to serve Clear, current andlocally relevant content.
This is where company news comesin All the things you're doing
out there.
If you've been through ourclass, you are a community
liaison.
You are a business developmentperson.
You're out there shaking handsand looking people in the eye.
You should be taking pictures.
You should be posting that onyour website.

(12:36):
You should be making blog posts.
You should be doing all thosethings.
That is clear, current, locallyrelevant content.
Google business profile.
If you don't have any reviews, you need to get some more
reviews.
If you have two reviews or ifyou have five reviews, you need
to double, triple, quadruplethat number.
Right now, when you talk to aclient or an adult child of an

(13:01):
aging parent and you knowthey're happy, that's the moment
.
That is the moment to ask themfor a review.
Not a week from now whenthey're hacked off because the
caregiver was late.
Right now, when they're happy, say Mary, would you mind just
going on Google and leaving us areview?
Or we have a program where youcan just ask everybody, or you

(13:24):
can ask people one at a time forreviews.
You have to get more reviews.
Reviews are important and youneed to answer every single
review that comes in.
So if you were to look atApproved Senior Network, if you
just typed in Approved SeniorNetwork, you will see there's 33
reviews there and every prettymuch.
I don't think there's one thatdoesn't have a.

(13:45):
Maybe an old one doesn't havean answer.
But every single review that'son there has a response from us
and thankfully, all of ours arevery positive reviews.
You may have one that's anegative review because, as we
know, disgruntled caregiverswill leave bad reviews all day
long.
So you need to answer those too.

(14:06):
Actually, you need to reportthose first before you answer
them, but if they're not goingto be taken down, you need to
definitely answer them in a veryprofessional way, and we help
our clients with that too.
On-site content optimization,blog posts, conversational
phrasing Think, how do I gethelp for mom at home?
Add alternate alt text for yourimages All these things are

(14:30):
local SEO stuff that we'vealways been doing.
This is still how AI pickswinners.
But also I'm going to show youin my examples here in a second
that a lot of the things that wethink and we think you think
that the word home care or homecare in St Louis or home care in
De Pere, is the only way to goand that's the only keyword

(14:53):
phrase that matters, and I'mgoing to tell you today that is
not the truth and it is not theway you should be doing SEO.
We do focus on home care a lotin our SEO programs, but we also
know that those long questions.
You know what the mostfrequently asked question is
about home care.
It is how much does it cost?
And that is not a keywordphrase that you're going to find

(15:17):
on any list.
It may be the cost of home caremight show up somewhere.
How much does it cost?
And then, number two doesMedicare pay for it?
No, those are the kinds ofquestions, though, that real
humans are asking.
They're not typing in home careDe Pere, missouri.

(15:37):
They're like how do I get homecare for my mom?
Can I get paid to care for myfamily member in the state of
Nebraska?
Yes, you can, so let me tellyou how.
So those are the things thatyou need to focus on Long tail
keyword phrases and questionsthat people often ask.

(16:00):
All right, here's some specificactions that you should be
taking right now.
Are your services clearlydefined?
If you need an example of anyone of our websites, you will
see the services are veryclearly defined and they are not
short content answers.
They're short up the top, andthen there's a whole litany of
text that talks about differentaspects of home care related to
that service companion care, personal care, alzheimer's and

(16:24):
dementia, home care, hospital tohome, transition care.
We cover all of it and we giveexamples and we talk about, like
, the benefits of it and how.
I don't know what to look for ina great home care agency, and
it's hard to slice and dice homecare very many ways, because
you all pretty much do the samething, which comes back to why

(16:46):
you should be definitely findinga reason why you're different
to why you should be definitelyfinding a reason why you're
different.
So we write that in a way thatis unique to you but is also
clearly defining everything thatyou do.
You need to have an about uspage.
You need to have reviews.
You need to have team pages.
I see a lot of websites whereyou are not highlighted on that
website.

(17:06):
Your face, or your owner's face, or your owner's family or
whoever owns the business orwhoever is the face of the
business, should really be onthat website, with a bio and
your why, the reason you're inthis business, should be on that
website somewhere.
That is a trust factor in homecare.

(17:28):
Own your own story online.
We need to make sure thatyou're talking about your
referral partners.
You're talking about your ownbusiness.
You're talking about yourcommunity partnerships.
Add location-based case studiesand testimonials.
Talking about the places thatyou're going the senior fair at
the local YMCA or whatever, orthe convention center is a great

(17:52):
thing to do with.
You're talking about it, you'rehighlighting it.
That is local authority.
Build answer-focused blogcontent.
Can a family member get paid totake care of a loved one.
I'm going to show you someexamples of that.
How much does home care cost?
What if I can't pay for homecare?
Private pay, how do I do that?

(18:12):
How can I pay for home care?
Okay, so those are the kinds ofthings that you should be doing
, especially with writtencontent, but video is really
important also.
All right, let's take a look atsome fun stuff.
Look at the screen that sayscan I get paid to care for a
family member in Lincoln,nebraska?
Now, the reason I put the townname in there and the state is

(18:37):
because I am not in Lincoln, nebraska.
So if I put that in without thetown and the state, everything
would be St Louis, and we don'thave that many clients here in
St Louis not on purpose, butbecause that's where we're based
, but anyway.
So we do have clients inLincoln, nebraska.
So I thought let's see if anyof them show up.
And sure enough, here it isthere's a manicure.

(19:00):
So my arrows point to ourclients there's a manicure.
Twice, now, it's not theirwebsite, but guess what it is?
It is a patchcom articlewebsite.
But guess what it is?
It is a patchcom article.
There's a golden nugget for youright there.
Patchcom is where it's at.
Even if you don't like patchcom, get some great backlinks and
it's an authoritative site.
It's a great place to put someblog posts.

(19:22):
So patchcom, and then down here, nebraska families may qualify
for financial support whencaring for an aging loved one.
Cbs4indycom that's Indy isprobably Indianapolis, it's not
Nebraska, but guess what that'sshowing up there.
That's excellent, and then someof these other links might also
link to them.
I'm not sure You're also goingto get.

(19:44):
If you ask this question andyou have a Medicaid waiver in
your state, the first thingthat's always going to show up
is your state resources.
But having said that, havingour clients show up for that is
amazing, so we're really happyabout that.
Okay, then for Omaha, nebraska.
Let's see if our client showsup there.
Yes, they do.
It's a different client, butthere is CareTech.

(20:06):
They show up in AI generativesearch for Omaha and that's
where they're based.
So that makes a lot of sense.
That's that's how you show up.
Is writing those articles andputting those out on the
internet that talk about thethings that people have the most
questions about?
Does anybody have any questionsabout this yet?
No, it's tech nerdy.

(20:30):
I have a question real quick.
When you say patchcom, is thatper that area or that's just in
general patchcom?
No, it's just for your area.
So if you were to look at thisarticle, it's the Lincoln,
nebraska patch Gotcha, that'sokay, thank you.
Okay.
So here's chat GPT Same thing.

(20:51):
That was Google that you justlooked at, here's ChatGPT.
I didn't screenshot high enoughup, but anyway here it is right
.
Here there's that patchcomarticle that shows our client
and then right here there's thatsame answer, but it shows our
client.
If you were to click on that itwould be our client.
And then over on the right handside, if you look over here,

(21:13):
you see caretechcom is rightthere at the top and that's for
Omaha.
So Lincoln is over here, omahais over here.
So we got both our clients infor two of the major.
And you know it's a work inprogress all the time.
The more information you put outabout these things and did I
make up or did we write contentthat was a whole lot different

(21:35):
than what the state of Nebraskawrites?
No, but we knew that if wewrote up a little guide on
Nebraska Medicaid waiverprograms and how to get paid to
care for an aging parent inNebraska, that if we put it out
there, not only on theirwebsites but also on a few
others, that if we put it outthere, not only on their

(21:56):
websites but also on a fewothers, seo, that they would get
picked up in AI generativesearch.
And this has been a while back.
We didn't do this yesterday.
I think the patchcom article isprobably I don't know four or
five months old, and I know theCareTech articles on their
website are way older than that.
The care tech articles on theirwebsite are way older than that
.
Okay, let's look at, oh, whoprovides home care sales

(22:18):
training in the US.
Look at that Approved SeniorNetwork, what so?
Somebody sent us a note theother day, I can't remember
which.
I think, annette, you sent thatover to me or over to us in
Slack.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
Actually Trey, I think he's on here oh.
Trey yeah, we came up and chatGPT.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yeah.
So I went ahead and Googled itwho provides home care sales
training in the US and what?
There we are.
And then you can see us twoplaces here right at the top,
and then, if we go over here, you can see us two places here
right at the top.
And then, if we go over here,we can see that that's back in
2023.
That's picking that up, allright.

(23:04):
And then, over here, if you saywho's the best home care
website design agency in 2025?
Here we are now.
I wrote the article a while backjust to see if I could get.
I wrote this article best homecare website design agencies in
2025.
And the key to this is I didnot put anyone down.
I did not say anyone was bad.
I compared us to a bunch ofothers that we know are in the

(23:24):
market, and but I said we werethe best and I put that on our
website because we are the best.
But it's it's the YouTubeversion of it.
It's still.
It's a video is there.
And then there's the second oneon this list.
Right here is the article, theactual article, where it says
number one approved seniornetwork.
But if you look at what ithighlighted, it isn't us.
That's ignorant, but anyway,we're still down here at the

(23:47):
bottom.
So I think I just did it as atest and boy, that was nice.
And in terms of our home careagencies, I thought how can I do
that for a home care agency?
And you really can't say, or,if I were a local home care
agency, I would never write anarticle that says the best home

(24:07):
care agency and now, maybe youwould, but I don't think I would
the best home home care agencyin Omaha, nebraska or Fairfax,
virginia, and then list myselfand a bunch of other ones.
I don't know if I'd want to godown that pike, but what you can
do is say what are the toprequested home care services in

(24:29):
Fairfax Virginia and then talkabout companion care, personal
care and things like that.
So there's ways to get aroundit.
You don't want to offend abunch of people, but there we
are, all right.
Oops, that was Google, I'm allover the place, sorry, all right
.
Here is ChatGPT, who provideshome care sales training in the

(24:51):
US.
And there we are again.
Chatgpt pulls us up, and HomeCare Pulse really doesn't do
sales training.
I don't get that, but whatever.
So yay, and then the best homecare website development
agencies in 2025.
Bam, right there, there we are.
I'm so happy about that.

(25:12):
I don't know if anybody'sreally going to type those exact
words in, but it was fun for me, all right.
How do I pay for home care inFairfax, virginia?
I thought we have a lot ofclients in Fairfax.
Let's see if any of them showup for this.
And guess what?
The Family Guide to In-HomeCare Services in Fairfax,
virginia is right here CardinalHome Care what?

(25:36):
How do families pay for in-homecare services?
So you can see that we'reputting content on our clients'
websites that are answering thequestions that people ask all
the time, and when you do,that's how you show up in AI
generative search.
Now you have to make it a goodarticle, and you have to make it
make sure you have lots ofreferences and things like that,
and then so this is Google, andthen over here, sadly, we don't

(26:01):
show up.
But how do I pay for home?
And this is the chat.
Gpt comfort keepers does, though, and maybe, if I clicked
on this, it sayscomfortkeeperscom plus 15, there
might be one of our clients inthere, but nobody's going to do
that, so write at home carecom.
So we need to maybe do a littlebit more work for our clients
on that end, but definitely gladwe were found in the Google

(26:26):
generative search.
Okay, don't just optimize forGoogle.
Train the AI to know you exist, and what that means is you need
to AI yourself.
Have you ever seen those littlecommercials, or I don't know?
The old now says Googleyourself, see what the internet
knows about you.
Nothing negative out there thatI didn't know about, because
certainly I'd want to address it.

(26:47):
But now you need to GPTyourself or you need to search
for yourself on chat GPT.
So tell me about home careprofessionals, home care agency
in California.
Now, I may have worded thatwrong, but if I were home care
professionals in California, Iwould want to know what it says

(27:09):
about me, right?
So I did that and it looks likeit took information from
LinkedIn.
It took information from theiractual website A Place for Mom,
yelp, a Place for Mom Caringcom, approved Senior Network, which
is us and Indeed.
So it did pick up a bunch andif I were you, I would want to
know what this stuff says aboutmy business.

(27:33):
This one is a manicure.
Same thing I said tell me aboutI didn't screenshot it, but
tell me about a manicure and ittook most of that information.
One was the BBB YelpcomGlassdoor and from their own
website, perfect.
And then I did for ApprovedSenior Network and it took

(27:53):
everything pretty much from ourwebsites, and the thing I liked
about ours is that it actuallyshowed who the ownership is and
our team and talked a little bitabout that.
And the reason it does that isbecause it's on the homepage of
our website or it's throughoutour website, but there's a blurb
about it on the homepage.
So I think that really helps.

(28:13):
But you want to know what'sbeing said about you or what the
internet thinks about youthrough generative search.
So definitely do that andthat's everything I have.
It seems like it's quick, butit really takes a little bit of
thought process.
I want to show you one morething before we go to.
I'm going to go to real Googlesearch here and we're going

(28:35):
gonna type in a real Googlesearch.
Oh, is it gonna?
Let me do it, okay, here we gohow much does.
Oh, you can see.
I already did this.
One care cost in St Louis, missouri.

(28:58):
So this is what it looks likeand why was I making?
Oh, here's what I want you tosee.
You see these questions called.
People also ask these are thequestions that you want to write
blog posts about what is theaverage cost of home care in
Missouri?
Is it cheaper to live inassisted living or a nursing

(29:19):
home?
What is the average daily costof in-home care?
How much does assisted livingcost?
Now I get it that none of youwant to put your actual rates
online and I wouldn't do that ifI were you.
But you can talk about how thecost of care is calculated.
So it depends on how acute theclient is, how much care they

(29:41):
need, what types of care theyneed, and the cost is going to
be different for everybody.
But tell people how youcalculate that.
Or if it's a couple, it's goingto be different, or if they're
a live-in versus hourly, it'sgoing to be different.
But if you write an article ora blog post that addresses those
things, then people will bemore likely to call you and say
okay, I understand, it'sdifferent for everybody.

(30:03):
Here's my situation and you canalways write frequently asked
questions about that.
You can always write articlesabout assisted living versus
nursing home, versus home care, and you can use also sources
like Genworth's cost of careguide for 2024, 2025, whichever
one's out now and put somegeneral costs of care.

(30:26):
So, anyway, I just wanted toshow you that this is how you
get in.
Generative search is peoplealso ask.
You want to make sure that youlook at those questions, because
these are frequently askedquestions and include those in
your website content.
All right, I'm going to go backto this and we're going to talk
about marketing and sales.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Can I ask a quick question, Valerie?

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Fahima asked how should Yelp reviews be handled?
Is it the same way as Googlereviews?
I know there's some differences, but yes, yelp is.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
I'm not a fan of Yelp I don't know if anybody is, but
anyway.
But if you have a lot ofpositive Yelp reviews, you
probably are a fan of it.
But if you're but yes, I, yes, absolutely you should answer
every single one.
And if there is a negativereview, first of all think.
Don't answer in anger becauseyou'll say something you regret.
Take a day, think about it andthen come back to it or have

(31:22):
ChatGPT write the answer for you.
Give them the situation, writethe answer for you.
Give them the situation, giveit the review that you got and
give it a little bit of insightinto what the reality was behind
that whole debacle.
And then go ahead and letChatGPT write a very
professional answer.

(31:44):
Don't name names, don't giveaway medical information, but
let it write something becauseyou're not writing your response
for the person who left thereview.
They've already decided they'repissed, but what you're doing
is you're writing the answer forthe next person who sees that
Just if you've ever done.
I always use this example VRBOor Airbnb.

(32:06):
If we go on vacation and we geta VRBO, I don't read the
reviews.
I read the reviews and I'm moreinterested in how the owner of
that house or whatever respondsthan I am in actually what the
review was.
Because if the person leavingthe review is insane, the

(32:37):
professional answer by the owneris going to tell me all I need
to know about the idiot thatwrote that review hands down.
So be sure to answer veryprofessionally.
You're writing it for the nextperson who reads that.
If you can't get it taken down,if it is someone who you think
was an employee or you believeis an employee, then you need to
say something about that andreport it.
So on Google reviews, if it'san employee or disgruntled

(32:58):
employee, somebody got fired orwhatever you need to report it
as a conflict of interest.
So when you go to the reportingarea, you can report each one
of those.
There's little three dots rightnext to the review.
You want to choose conflict ofinterest, because having
employees review you is aconflict of interest.
Now, of course, if they leave abrilliant review, we're not
going to report that, but ifthey leave a negative review,

(33:21):
we're going to report that andthey usually get taken down.
And have more than one personreport it, and same for Yelp.
You report it, have a few otherpeople in your life report it
and hopefully Yelp will come toits senses and take it down.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
The follow-up question to that is what if it's
a four-year-old review?
If it's really old, should itstill be addressed?

Speaker 1 (33:45):
I would say it depends on how bad or how good
it is.
If it's bad, which is what Iwould assume this is about, then
I would first try to report it,which seems crazy.
It's four years old, and then Iwould try to cover it with some
really good reviews.
So, instead of answering it,let's say this if you know that

(34:05):
it was a disgruntled employer itwas someone who was crazy I
would definitely answer it andnot address the know that it was
a disgruntled employer.
It was someone who was crazy Iwould definitely answer it and
not address the fact that it'sfour years old.
Just say something about thisissue was resolved four years
ago.
Blah, blah, blah.
I don't know.
I would think about how toanswer that.
But if you know it was anemployee, then I definitely
would try to report it and ifthat doesn't get it taken down,

(34:27):
then get some more Yelp reviewsto cover the negative one.
It's a pain, but you can have.
You know yourself and don't doit from your work computer.
Go home, leave a nice reviewwith a real profile, with your
real self.
Don't make somebody up or haveanother client leave a review,

(34:48):
or something like that.
So that's how I would answerthat.
Thank you, all right, so wehave a few spots left for some
sales training, which we arenumber one.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
I'm trying to wave my hand to get that's okay.
I just wanted to inject.
This is that I know that youcan go to yelp and if it's a
company, if it's a formeremployee, you can file a
grievance and have it expungedso you don't be just, like you
know, burying it is great, butthere is an actual process that
you can go through that, if it'san inform former employee that

(35:30):
you can file a grievance andhave it taken off.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
Thank you, terry, yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
You know what, a long time ago, when Google reviews
just started making a bigdifference for people.
This is several years.
We've been in business almost18 years now.
We've been in business almost18 years now.
So a long time ago, a client ofmine in Austin Texas, I believe

(35:57):
Austin Texas sent me someinformation and asked if there
was anything or what ourrecommendation was.
There was nothing we could doabout it.
One home care agency and Austinwas much smaller back then one
home care agency left themselvesthis wonderful review and then
went to every other home careagency in Austin and left a
one-star review.
Wow, this was the beginning ofall this, but it looked terrible

(36:23):
for the other home careagencies.
So we did a littleinvestigation and figured out
what had happened.
She couldn't tell what hadhappened, but I did a little
investigation.
We went back and forth and Isaid you know what I would be
calling the owner of whateverhome care agency it was, and I
would ask them why.
Because it was the same profile.
The same person left a one-starreview like a dummy on all the

(36:48):
other home care agencieswebsites and I would screenshot
it all and send it over to thatperson and say who did this.
Is it your?
You, because every other homecare agency in town is now going
to be looking at you.
Buddy, because I'm going totell them all.
So that's crazy.
It was a nuts thing to do.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Yeah, what a crazy tactic.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, it was awful.
Okay, let's talk about stuffJune 26th 3 PM, July 17th at
noon and July 23rd at noon.
Definitely worth doing.
If you guys I've already beenthrough the sales training
please leave us amazing reviewsand if you haven't been through
the training it's worth it.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
I think we have a lot of our training folks on here,
but we do still have some spotsfor next week, so sign up,
woo-hoo.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
All right, I think it's leave behinds of Lisa time.
I think it is.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
But this is our winner from this is June, right,
so we're this wait, so we needto say yes if anyone wants to
win for july, am I right?

Speaker 1 (37:53):
oh, yeah, yeah, if you want, you want to win stuff.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
Yeah, we'll have to look through the july stuff, but
yeah, so what you need to do?
Oh, they're already there.
You guys are fast and furious,so in the chat just type in yes
and yeah, there it is.
You want to be included in ourleave behind giveaway?
Perfect, beautiful.
The only requirement is thatyou take lots of pictures and
send them to us, you using theleave behinds.

(38:18):
We want to see the differentways that you've moved them
around and made them your own.
So this was the June winnerGinger Senior Solutions.
She used the home care in aflash and the National Safety
Month, so really cool.
I'm so glad.
Yay, lots of yeses, woohoo.
Okay, we will be back on July16th.

(38:41):
Yep, there it is.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Hard to believe it's July 16th.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
