Hundreds Rally for Good Trouble in Albany

on July 17, five years since the passing of Congressman John Lewis, tens of thousands of Americans in more than 1500 communities across the country took to the streets for a day of Making Good Trouble to fight for justice, voting rights, and dignity for all. While smaller than last month’s actions against the Trump administration that attracted an estimated 5 million participants nationwide, many hundreds of people lined Townsend Park in Albany and nearby streets. There was a strong participation by Palestinian Rights groups, who engaged with State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli who stopped by, urging him to stop using the state pension funds to buy Israeli bonds that help fund the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Immigrant rights and climate activists were also visible.
