In episode 270 of iCantCU, titled The Pressure of Being Blind, I discuss my recent experiences at Podcast Movement in Washington, D.C. Despite initial hesitations, a last-minute decision led me to attend the event. I share the challenges of navigating the conference as the only blind participant, emphasizing the pressure to avoid mistakes and the constant awareness of being watched.
From unexpected technical issues with my website (it was hacked) right before departure to racing to catch a train, my journey was filled with obstacles that tested my resilience. I also touch on using AI tools for accessibility, the thrill of connecting with other podcasters, and the importance of independence in overcoming the unique challenges of traveling while blind.
My story highlights the struggles and triumphs of navigating the world with limited vision while remaining determined to succeed in a sighted world. My ultimate goal is to show the sighted world that blind people are capable.

White Canes Connect Podcast Episode 109
In episode 109, co-host Lisa Bryant and I engage in an enlightening conversation with Simone Cooper, founder of the Blind Social Club, and Katie Samson, an advisor for the Sowing Excellence Awards. Simone shares her journey from starting the International Cuisine Club for the Blind and Visually Impaired in 2017 to changing the name to a more-fitting Blind Social Club, which has since evolved into a vibrant community initiative aimed at fostering social connections among blind and visually impaired individuals.
