and as always, we thank youfor tuning into today's show. Carla,
we got a lot to get intoand we don't need to waste no time
getting to get Let's go all right, So first things first, I am
(01:34):
in my sweater and I'm just gonnagive your heads up. My voice is
a little shaky today. I don'tknow what's going on. I am two
days without sugar out congratulations. Yeahyeah, I'm two days without sugar.
And the first night, well,I tell you what happened to me.
(01:55):
The first night, I had thisnight sweat that was like the king of
all night sweats. Oh man.I literally felt like I had just got
out the bathtub and just jumped inthe bed. Oh my gosh. Yeah,
So I have one more time tohave a night sweat like that,
and I'm sleeping in a bathing suit. I don't have time to be playing.
(02:16):
No, I don't have time.I do not have How have you
been over the last week? Prettygood? I just felt like I feel
like time's flying, Like I mean, I know, probably all feel like
that all all year, but Idon't know. I just feel like this
week went by well. Last weekwent by so fast, and like we're
already at the middle of this week. Yep, crazy and almost at the
end of March. Yes, firstquarter about the rep wait, yeah,
(02:38):
I can't wait. I'm ready forspring. Yeah. Well, you know
I have to fight the pollen monster, so oh yeah, I can pause
on spring and jump straight into summer. Oh no, no, yeah,
I mean I appreciate spring, butthat Spring island. I'm in Georgia,
man, I'm in Georgia. Yeah. So you know it's a different type
(03:00):
of battle for me, but youknow it is what it is. But
okay, so let's get right oninto it. Girl. Yes, on
Monday, and I know people belike, yo, Monday be Monday,
and but nobody felt this war thanSean Diddy Combs. On Monday, the
(03:23):
Department of Homeland Security raided Ditty's LosAngeles and Miami homes. Now, I
did hear some whisperings that they alsorated his New York home. Yeah,
I already hit in New York too. That's what I was about to ask
you, like, didn't they hitNew York too? But I don't.
I don't know if it's any hardconfirmation on that, but I'm like eighty
(03:44):
percent sure, right, yeah,Yeah. The Department of Homeland Security conducted
a strategic three location raid. Listento was it? Two chains told y'all
to be fresh as head because theFEDS watch. So they pulled up on
Diddy's homes. It's three locations andan alleged sex trafficking investigation. I don't
(04:10):
know just just what was your firstreaction when you saw this, because I
was on some it's going down yourright, right, I think everybody was.
My first reaction, Like my firstreaction was like, oh, well,
I'm not surprised, like but Iam surprised, Like it was one
of those weird things like I was. I wasn't surprised, but I was
because honestly, like I'm gonna say, they moved quickly because after like the
(04:34):
civil suit with Cassie, I feltlike, Okay, it's well, I
think the you know, the Feds, whoever you know on the legal side
of things are going to start payingattention. But I never thought it would
have been like this fast, LikeI honestly thought it would be like years,
like all right, like two yearsfrom now, we'll hear about Diddy
being in the Honestly I did.I can. I can definitely agree with
(04:56):
that because we watched it happen withR. Kelly. Yeah, it was
almost like all of R. Kelly'sevidence was right in our face, but
he just kept on making them jamsand we kept on stepping in the name
of love, and it was justlike time just kept going and going and
going. I figured something would eventuallyhit the fan with Diddy, but I
(05:18):
was not expecting on God's Monday afternoonfor Homeland Security to swoop down on all
three of his homes. And itfelt like a coordinated attack. Actually it
was coordinated. Of course it's theFEDS, And I don't think the FEDS
that's like their middle like everything's collaborative, everything's coordinated. Like you understand what
(05:41):
I'm saying. That's the part.I wasn't surprised because I'm like, if
it's the FEDS, guarantee you theyhitting everything at the same time, like
I like you imagine watching like ineach in each city. I believe they
hit hit it, hit his placeup at the same time at the c
have to, but they're not gonnagive you time to hit up whoever and
be like flushed it. I'm notsaying that's what it is, because this
(06:01):
is all alleged stuff, but youknow what I'm saying, like I would
imagine neighborhood. So here's the thing, though, you touched on a point
that I want to circle back aroundto. So when Cassie dropped that bombshell
lawsuit on Diddy. That was whatlast November October October November, Yeah,
you know what, Actually, letme go ahead and get my facts together.
It was definitely around that time.It wasn't long ago. Okay,
(06:26):
let's see. I mean, itdepends on what you think wrong is.
But I just felt like I didn'texpect anything of this magnitude. I thought
it would take a while at leastafter the settlement between him and Cassie.
So actually, I'm going to tellyou why. I felt like something may
(06:46):
happen, But I don't know.It was like a surprise and not a
surprise at the same time. Andwe've been hearing this stuff for years,
different things for years, So itwas like that's how I felt like.
That's why I didn't think anything wouldhappen to him. Like I'm like,
if they're gonna get him, theygotta have like they're gonna have to have
a ton of evidence, Like theygot to nail him because he's been This
(07:08):
is just my opinion. We allbeen here in Whispers of Diddy. He's
been just skating through all of theseyears. Right. A lot of stuff
we're hearing now we've heard before. So Cassie did drop this shocking lawsuit November
sixteenth, twenty twenty three. Okay, and so with the Cassie situation,
it was like she filed the lawsuitand of course, you know, he
(07:28):
quickly quickly, quickly settled. Butshe opened Pandora's box. And I feel
like she empowered other people who waslike, wait a minute, she just
skated off with thirty thousand within twentyfour at well thirty million? Excuse me?
Well presumed, yeah, because Ithink it was way more right exactly.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'mpretty sure she skated with much more
(07:51):
than that. But I always feltlike Cassie's lawsuit wasn't about the bread.
Cassie ain't hurting for money. Imean, but who couldn't use a couple
MS? Oh yeah. But Ifelt like her lawsuit was more about exposing
and pulling back the cover on allof Ditty's mess. It was like turning
on the lights and all the roachesstarted scrambling. And I feel like that's
(08:13):
what her lawsuit was really about withDiddy. And so, you know,
the MS was more of a like, you know, compensory package, you
know what I'm saying, just alittle something something from my paintings now you
just brought up a good point.Though. You just actually brought up a
good point, because now that Ithink about it, it's like, all
right, I can get money, and he's gonna get He's going to get
(08:33):
criminally charged eventually down the line becausethe tea that I'm spilling were not the
tea. But it's like that wasa very, very very detailed how many
pages was it again, I can'tremember whatever was ary We went through it,
so I know like it was verydetailed. So that just it does
it leaves the door open, like, Okay, I might not go after
you criminally or the statute of limitationsmaybe up on my end of things.
(08:54):
But also you know, with herdetailing everything that she experienced. I actually
feel like it was Rodney little RodJones's lawsuit, the thirty million dollar lawsuit
that he filed in February accusing Diddyof sexual harassment, of sexual assault,
and of grooming. Little Rod wasone of the producers on Ditty's love album,
(09:18):
his Graminated Love album, But Ipersonally feel like it was Little Rod's
lawsuit that triggered investigations. I feellike I feel like it was a two
part right, And I said yesterdayon Twitter, I was like, you
know, this whole Diddy saga's kindof unfolding, like Beyonce's renaissance, like
(09:39):
ac One was Cassie following her lawsuit, which empowered and opened the door for
all of Ditty's other alleged victims tofeel empowered to come forward, whether they
were coming forward for justice or ifthey were coming forward for a pay day.
They still felt like somebody's going tolisten to us now, you know,
I feel like I feel like Acttoo was Little Rod's lawsuit Because in
(10:03):
Little Rod's lawsuit, Besty, Idon't know if you had the opportunity to
read it, but when I tellyou, he broke down and itemized I
have never seen a lawsuit like well, I'm not going to say it hasn't
existed, but I personally have nevertaken the time to read a lawsuit that
literally itemized the entire organization as ifhe was setting that lawsuit up to trigger
(10:28):
a Rico right, and he has. He had like picks and stuff too,
That's what makes his yes cafe.So I think it's a combination of
things. I don't even think itwas like a single thing that triggered them.
I think, like when you knowthe Feds, the FEDS usually by
time they do search warrants or indict, they've already borne on your ass for
a minute. So I think likeit's a combination. I think kids may
have been maybe a tip of theiceberg. But then cops are people just
(10:50):
like us. You've had bodyguards talkinglike we've been on a I mean,
they listen to interviews, they listento the art of dialogue, they listen
to you know. So I thinkwhat you said, though, makes a
really good point because of Rod.It's so detailed, it is. It
even names like like and if youlook at the people that it named,
so now you're naming other high profilepeople like Kuba Goodon Junior, you know,
(11:13):
like that situation he was named andthere's like a photo going around.
Well done. But let me piggybackoff of that. Not to interrupt you
real quick, but there is arecord exect, a record executive. Her
name is Ethiopia. I can't pronounceher last name. She's a record She
has already went into an agreement withLittle Rod to have her name taken off
(11:37):
of his lawsuit. Now why isshe caught? Like so he got something.
Ye like he amended his lawsuit onMonday. Wow, you acts to
ask the judge to dismiss her asone of the plaintiffs because he has entered
an agreement with her on the side. Okay, because she has agreed to
(11:58):
talk. Yeah, it's a lot. It's a lot. Like and then
I feel like all the names highwe have to remember the other high profile
names with the alleged So you're lookingat j Lo I saw like cool,
but it's so many. So nowyou got like you've really got their their
antennas up because we all know thatany law enforcement loves high profile cases because
(12:22):
it's like, hey, look whowe got. You know what I mean,
It's it's it makes you look youknow, I guess better. Great
people get promotions out of stuff likethis. So it's just the gotting boys.
That's that's the talk when they getin the car. We gotting boys,
great job, we got boys.Let me ask you this. Do
you feel like the way they ratedDiddy's house in La, Miami and New
(12:43):
York? Well, we really gotonly got the coverage of LA and Miami.
But do you feel like it wasexcessive? Yeah? Because Judge Mathis
actually had the nerve to say thathe felt. Let me let me grab
that quote while you share your answer. What's an excessive search? Though?
I want to know what that? What's an excessive search? That's I'm starting
to side out of your boy,Greg, because he done jumped out the
(13:05):
window more than once with a witha sketchy take from him. Well,
he's a celebrity though, so Idon't expect anything. Oh. He updated
his post and it begins with Iam not defending diddy up say that fast.
But then he wrote, definitely excessiveforce investigating alleged sex crimes wasn't done
(13:26):
to Epstein or Weinstein. Can wetalk about this for a second. Can
we talk about why does the blackcommunity always do this? I don't know.
I need you to have someone overhere committing heinous crimes, and when
the police swooped down on them,a black man or a black woman committing
(13:48):
heinous crimes, and at least swoopeddown on them, the first thing you
want to do is, well,they didn't do that that X y Z.
And first of all, with alldue respect, Epstein and Weinstein ain't
my problem. They're not even mydemographic. Yeah, I know, that's
right, they're not. My onlyconcern is if there were any black victims
outside of that, this is noneof our business. They are out of
(14:11):
my demographic. So I am notgoing to excuse the behavior or say someone
of color should get a slap onthe wrist because someone with less pigmentation was
able to skate Scott free. Thatmakes no logical, Kelly, Oh,
always, it's very ignorant. It'sit's it's just that's one of the things
(14:33):
that kind of discussed me because it'slike the first thing that's exactly what we
do. So because someone else getsaway with it makes it okay, or
we should should another race or Idon't know. I don't I don't get
the logic behind that, But Idon't understand what an excessive search is.
Explain to me. Someone hurt wassomeone when they put the handcuffs on Christian
(14:56):
And when they put the handcuffs onJustin, it looked like they didn't put
them one too tight. They hadn'tset him down nice in the grass.
See, that's that. That's thatentitled ship though, you know that's where
that is. That's that entitled shipbecause we all either have one, you
might not have experience but you knowsomeone or someone that knows someone, or
you've seen enough on TV of reallike search people them searching, and I
(15:20):
didn't see anything different. What theyslammed. They slammed the dresser drawer down
to damn hard. They pushed yourTV over, Like, what's excessive,
Like, I don't have to detainthe people in the house. That's protocol,
that's and everyone knows that. Jess. Yeah, for one, let's
start there. My question is whydid he wasn't home when they ran up
(15:41):
in the house. I mean, well, I asked you a question,
but but let me ask you mhm. He was spotted at the Miami Airport
right at the time. Now,do you think the FEDS had intel that
he may have been at the airportor he was planning to take a flight,
because of course they have to andthere's flight itineraries, you know,
(16:02):
you have to check in with airtraffic control things of that nature. So
do you think the FEDS knew Diddywouldn't be at home so it was easier
to run in take care of theirbusiness, or do you think did he
was like fuck them kids, youwrong, I'm not getting me today,
just going to Brussel nah, Idon't think. I just think they just
(16:23):
did what they did. Like,I don't think there was any thought about
him being there or not, becausethe warrant wasn't for him, it was
for his property. If they wanted, if they were on an indict,
they would have got him too.Like, I totally think they were there
to get evidence to support something,to support an ad they have strong,
strong, strong probable call. It'speople talking. I totally think they want
(16:44):
the tapes. They want the tapes. If you hear everyone that's been interviewed,
especially the bodyguards and stuff like that, everybody talk about these Diddy any
tapes? Did he any sapes?Did any sapes? Did he any sapes?
We? From what I hear, that's what he loves to do.
He loves to record. I thinkCassie Cassie even so, that's what you
you know what I'm saying, That'swhat I think. You know, that's
what they want. But if theycome and they go that far, I
(17:07):
truly believe. I don't know, the Feds don't usually come like that unless
yeah, that's strongly. Do youthink they really really got something on him?
Because I mean, listen, theFeds are busy exactly, and if
they running up in three different properties, they're coming to look for something specifically.
Now, sug Knight, I'm like, why why do we need the
(17:33):
opinions that thoughts, views and opinionsof someone who's doing a life sentence.
But okay, here we are.Sug Knight took to Twitter, and he
has really been enjoying the downfall ofDiddy. Oh yeah, I don't.
I really can't call if he's enjoyingit more than fifty cent. No,
I don't know. Fifty sat yoout fifty set every night, he prayed,
(17:56):
He asked God for because like theway where he acts like that,
I'll call him Curtis. That's Curtis. He'd be crossing the line. I
get it. But Dad, yeah, he'd be cutting up. But here's
the perspective sug Knight offered via Twitter. He said, people, the raids
today wasn't for Diddy. It wasto destroy the incriminating stuff on powerful men.
(18:19):
He said, hashtag Epstein, hashtagDiddy, hashtag Clive Davis. So
basically, sug Knight is trying tointroduce the idea that the FEDS came in
there to destroy like more like anEpstein situation. And I mean, we
saw what went down with Epstein, even though again that's not my demographic nor
my business. But if the Epstein, what is it the files? What
(18:44):
were they calling it? The books, the files or whatever? If those
have been were like revealed in wasit the flight lugs? I don't know
why that's so important to me.I want to know what people were calling
it. But if those were revealed, a lot of people will have a
lot of explaining to do. Andyou know me personally, I don't have
(19:07):
my tenfoil hat on. But Ido not believe that Epstein killed himself in
that prison cell. Really, Idon't. I don't. If he did,
it probably was because he didn't wantto deal with or face all the
people who he probably knew he jeopardized. But I know it's a lot easier
(19:27):
to silence somebody. I'm just saying. I watch a lot of TV and
movies, and I just know it'sa lot easier to silence people. But
I don't think the FEDS ran upin Diddy's house to destroy nothing. This
is the same logic that has SugarNight sitting in jail for that for a
life sentence. Yeah, exactly, exactly. I totally disagree with should they're
(19:48):
there for what they're there for?People are talking, though, you know,
I believe they went to several peopleand that's how they got the ball
rolling, you know, and Cassieonce again, go back to you.
Cassie kind of opened this door, right and then I'm a slide over to
Little Ride. Now, this iswhy I feel like Little Rid's lawsuit was
very effective. In his lawsuit,he details like everybody's role, Like Carla
(20:11):
is the one who makes the phone, calls down the Magic City to find
out the schedules of the dancers sothat we could transport him to the house.
Zobi is the one who buys theoutfits and for the frecoms. Like
he was detailing what every single person'srole was, and he detailed the role
of Brendan Paul. And Brendan Paul, twenty five, was arrested at Opa
(20:33):
Laca Airport in Miami on Monday forcocaine and marijuana possession. Now you couldn't
write this and make it even.I mean, the story rights itself because
in Little Rod's lawsuit, he namedBrendan Paul as did he's drug mule,
the plug, the one who obtainsthe drugs. And I also went back
and read the lawsuit again because Iwas like, I want to see everything
(20:56):
that he said Brendan was responsible for. Said Brendan was also responsible for paying
the sex workers, and he listedthe sex workers as young Miami, oh
my gosh, Miami, Daphne Joy, fifties baby mother, and another person
(21:19):
named Jada. Now, I knowthere are a few Jada's who are pretty
popular, but I don't want tostart putting nothing on nobody's back. So
I found it ironic that he waslisted in a lawsuit as Diddy's drug mule
and ended up getting arrested at aMiami airport with cocaine and marijuana on right.
(21:41):
True, So that's accurate. Weknow that part, isn't It's very
very accurate. And then that's anstrategic You go after him. He's probably
already got a record. You canget a lot of information from him because
the plug usually knows a lot.So that's smart. On the fat too,
you start going after the little guys, you know, white boy Rick
going too. Yeah, you're talkingabout hold on me, me, me
(22:03):
me, before you go down. You gotta get back on the streets and
do his thing like, Yeah,it's so classic. And when I goe
to you first, they bonded hisbehind out of jail with the quickness.
Yeah. Oh, they bonded himout so quick before they could even interrogate
him. Yeah, he's gonna betalking if he had. He's talked already,
believe me a little. So hegonna be gay mm hmm m.
(22:27):
He's gonna be that star witness whatI think? So because the plug Listen,
you already know, like that's whothey go after first, and that's
the one that a lot of timesyou roll with the plug, depending on
how serious you habit is. Hmm, yeah, you're right, you're right.
Just a few more talking points fromthis particular subject. Diddy also reportedly
sold all of his Revolt shares toan anonymous buyer, severing his relationship with
(22:51):
the business that he co founded. Now, Carlo, we know this game.
This game is when I get caughtup, I sell all of my
shares to you until the smoke clears, and then you sell them back to
me. Yeah, so we knowthis game. Yeah. And also and
note, well you know we alreadyknow. In November, he stepped down
as chairman of revolts. So Iguess this selling of the shares do you
(23:14):
think let me ask you this though, do you think Diddy knew that there
was a criminal investigation or sex traffictrafficking investigation in the works, Because remember
when someone leaked that the NYPD hadstarted a sex trafficking investigation and then they
released a statement talking about we know, we not they lied. Yeah,
(23:36):
Well, I just think that likehe might have in the back of his
head after cast he opened the door, But I don't. I totally don't
think he expected this. No,I don't. Okay, Okay, he
would have prepared better. Yeah,he wouldn't have been in the crib.
He would have had he would havebeen he would have been in another country
by now. Believe if he hadany inkling that this was going to happen,
he would have been overseas. Okay. Well, Speaking of an alleged
(23:57):
sex worker young Miami, he tookto social media and she said it's fitting
to be a fun summer, andthe folks jumped in her tweets and was
like, girl, turn on thenews. Because basically what she did while
the raid was going down, shegot on social media and tried to air
quote tweet through it number one toshow like I'm not being arrested. We
(24:21):
know the tricks like he can tryto show their outside or that they aren't
in handcuffs outside of Diddy's residents orinside. So she tried to tweet through
it. They was like, girl, turned on the news because I don't
know your summer fitn to get realinteresting. And Quincy has been all Quincy
Brown, who is kim Porter's eldestchild. He has also been trending on
social media since Monday because people areasking two things. Number one, where
(24:47):
is Quincy quinc I mean he wasn'tat the house. He wasn't, you
know, spotted in cuffs or anotherYes, but I did see I did
see one video clip where people wereclaiming it was Quincy and handcuffs, and
I was like, y'all reach in, that's noting. They need to stop.
(25:07):
Well, they just want Quincy tobe They want the whole fan.
It's like they wanted everybody to bethere. That's that's so sad though,
Like yeah, Dessy was like, were the twins and handcuffs? I'm like,
oh, yeah, all right, they are right. They probably was
at Kimora Lee's house. So otherpeople are calling for Quincy to grab his
twin sisters and his brother basically groundup keim Porter's children and get them the
(25:32):
hell away from their daddy. Sothat is the huge possibility on him.
Just regardless of the situation. Myprayers for the kids, the twins mainly
and little baby Love because Justin andChristian they old enough to make choices.
Yeah, you know, they're hischildren, but they're grown men, so
true. All right. So withthat being said, just let us know
(25:56):
your thoughts on this Diddy situation.I'm sure more things will be unfolding over
the next couple of days, andit's going to get more interesting over the
next couple of months, especially accordingto that psychic that was on TikTok and
she predicted that he was gonna getall this around Easter, and Easter is
this week. Wow, And shepredicted it back in November. Yeah,
she said, kim Porter came andtold her kim Porter and heaven like,
(26:19):
how I get in this? Justget my chilling out that house. Yes,
okay, guys, so we aregoing to go ahead and take a
quick break and when we come back, we are going to introduce you to
our special guest, Carla. Wegot guests in the building, Hey,
in the building, So we areexcited to welcome a very special guest to
(26:41):
the show. So go ahead andtake your bathroom breaks, grab your drink
of water, and we'll be rightback. All right, we are back.
So, Carla, I am veryexcited because we have a guest in
the building with us today. Andnot just like a regular Deglar schmagular guest.
We got in time Inn doubacp ImageAward winning eleven dominations. We got
(27:06):
a playwright, an actress, acreator. We have miss Kinique Sky the
building. Welcome to the ice CreamConversations, poocaste, good morning, and
thank you for having me. Thisis so awesome. Oh, no problem,
no problem. So we are excitedto have you on the podcast to
talk about your forthcoming play Peace BeStill, which has been talented as the
(27:30):
theatrical event of the year. Yes, ma'am, so I would love for
you to tell the ICC listeners alittle bit more about this great play that
you have come into the Atlanta onApril I say, coming to the Atlanta
Carlmsoe country, but coming to Atlantaon April twentieth. Yes, well,
(27:55):
First of all, again, thankyou for having me. It is really
an honor and a long time admireof your work. So when I got
the opportunity to be connected to you, it was just like, oh my
god, this is a godwink. So thank you, thank you, thank
you, and continue to do amazingthings. Yes, ma'am, so yes,
my baby. Peace be Still comingto Atlanta April twentieth. Now,
(28:18):
Peace Be Still is part two toa show that I wrote called Pieces,
that we did last year here actuallytwice, so we did it at the
Riverside Epicenter in April and then wewere brought back by popular demands in Marietta
last November. So Peace Be Stillis part two of that story picks up
three years later. It does standon its own, so you don't have
(28:41):
to have seen Pieces to follow PeaceBe Still. But it is definitely,
you know, a story about thecomplexities of relationships, really just trying to
you know, we're all just tryingto get it right, you know what
I mean, And sometimes we are, for a better word, played by
our past. There are some thingsin our past that are easier to overcome
(29:07):
than others, and sometimes we feellike we've overcome them. And they just
sneak right back into the picture. And so that is what peace Be still
delves into that. I think it'ssuch a it's such a great story because
we cover a lot of ground, you know what I mean, There's something
in it for so many There's somethingin it for single there's something in it
(29:29):
for people blended families, which iswhat we deal with a lot in the
community. You know, a lotof times people come into relationships and you
know they already have children. Sowhat does that look like? We have
you know, mothers who don't youknow, mother who doesn't feel appreciated by
her family. She feels like shesacrifices and gives so much of herself that
she's lost herself. We have amother who's dealing with postpartum depression, wow,
(29:53):
which I have not personally seen dealtwith a whole lot in the theatrical
world. But put we put thingson display in a very very real way.
I don't believe in sugarcoating. Idon't believe people can get healing from
pretending that things get sewn up nicelyand you put a band aid over and
(30:15):
live happily ever after. So Ireally I really find the great areas in
life because I feel like that's wherethe truth really exists. And so I
brought along some amazing storytellers and wedon't even you know, of course,
I direct the show, so Ican never leave. But the actors when
they're done with rehearsal, they don'teven leave, and they know where they
(30:37):
know where the story's going. Butthey're so you know, enthralled and watching
each other that you know. SoI just I can't wait for the audience
to experience this story. Absolutely. So let's talk about this cast, because
you have quite the lineup. Imean, we have gods, foul stars,
we have American Idol singers like weyou really have a very how would
(31:02):
I like to say it, likea very strong and hefty cast. So
let's talk about some of the starsof peace be still. I would love
to. We have the incredible DarleyMcCoy, who is absolutely phenomenal. She's
as amazing a person that she istalented, and so I'm incredibly excited to
(31:25):
have her lend her talent. Honey, you're gonna get all the fields,
all the fields, yes from MsMcCoy. She is definitely delivering. Darley
McCoy, we have owned Stacy jwhich a lot of people know her as
a dating expert, but she asa history as an actress. She has
been you know, in the actingworld over twenty thirty years and a lot
(31:49):
of people don't realize that because shekind of went down the path of becoming
the relationship coach and then she goton got her own TV show on own
but she is you know, ohmy god. She plays the character Vanessa,
which is my character's best friend. She is the mother who is you
know, dealing with a lot andfeeling kind of taken for granted and just
kind of feeling lost in her world. And she's doing a phenomenal job in
(32:12):
that area. We have Amber Tiedfrom Country Wayne. Yes, Country Wayne's
bull and the crazy thing is nowa lot of people got introduced to her
on Country Wayne, this young lady. She did my very very first stage
play back in LA when I firststarted. She was an actress in my
show. So people will see youin one capacity and think that's your world.
(32:36):
But amber y'all about to see AmberTie in a whole different way and
she is swinging from the raptors becausethat girl came in day one off book
Strong choices. I said, you'vegotta set the standard. And she is
slaying this particular character. And thecharacter d Or that she plays is a
(32:57):
is a scene stealer. Anyway, every actress whose players won a NAACP Theater
Award for the role. And soyou know she's coming in guns blazing,
and so I can't wait for peopleto experience the actress actress Amberti, because
she's awesome. She's awesome. GotParis Bennett. I was on American Idol
with Paris Bennett season five, soI got my baby in there. Wait
(33:21):
wait, wait, pause, Nowyou're not gonna skate past me real quick
and just throw out there you wereon American Idol as well. Yes,
I was a finalist on American Idolseason five. That must be why your
name felt so familiar to me whenwe first connected, because I was like,
man, she has such a namethat feels familiar. I was like,
(33:45):
like, you know, certain namesjust kind of feel and I was
like, Canique's guy, Like thatname just feels so familiar to you know
what, ma'am. I feel likewhen Messilla was at the table, like
oh, now I know what's onknowing now wait a minute, hilarious.
Yeah. Yeah, so that ismy uh, that's my other life.
(34:08):
I call it my other life becauseyou know, yeah, I love me
some American idol. Because I also, oh my gosh, now now her
name is gonna leave me now becausemy girl. Oh yes, okay,
okay, so okay, So backto Paris. Go. So Paris is
(34:28):
a part of it. She andyou know what she does. So she
does all the stuff and you know, she's uh has an incredible background in
theater. I'm so proud of allthe things that she's done. She's been
a part of Rent. I thinkshe's working through Wicked also right now,
so she's having she's doing rehearsals forWicked while she's rehearsing with us. Yeah.
So, I mean, you know, I got Aaron Spears and he
(34:49):
nominated Aaron Spears coming in from LosAngeles from being Mary Jane. He plays
the male lead. Uh, it'sjust we were coming in. We're coming
in swinging now. We are notleaving anything to chance in anyway anyway.
My question to you as a playwrightis like, typically, how long does
it take you to write? Youknow, these amazing plays that you receive
(35:12):
award nominations and awards for like, what is that process like for you?
Well, just to give you alittle history, my very first show was
called Sunday Morning, and Morning wasspelled m O U R n I n
G. And I played the characterSunday, so her name was Sunday and
she was mourning the loss of herself. And that was the very first show
that I wrote. And I wrotethat show in four days. You know
(35:38):
how you just don't know what youdon't know, and you don't know and
that's not normal, and you just, you know, you sit out to
do something and the story was unfoldingin my head. It was, it
was unfolding faster than I could writeit. I felt like I was watching
people and trying to transcribe what theywere saying. I didn't feel like I
was writing it. They wrote itselfand I just wrote, wrote, wrote
(35:59):
what they were saying. And sothat show, I wrote it pretty quickly,
sat on it for a few years, ended up moving to La to
be because I had done so muchtheater in Atlanta. I'd worked with everybody,
Alliance Theater, True Colors, touredwith Tyler Perry, Shelley Garrett,
he just worked with everybody as atheater actress. And when I decided to
(36:21):
move to LA I wanted to focuson television and film as an actress.
And you know how they say createa plan in Godlasses and I ended up
saying, you know what, thingsare quiet, I'm going to let me
just see if I can produce this, this play that I wrote a few
years ago. And so I didthat, and that one show itself was
nominated for seven of the eleven NAACPAwards, and I was nominated for Best
(36:46):
Playwright and I won Best Female LaidActress for that show. Awesome, So
that kicked off everything. But I, you know, as amazing as that
was, I was petrified because Iwas like, I'm not sure that I
really know what I'm doing. Likedid I just get lucky? You know
what I mean? I don't know. And so I sat down to write
(37:07):
Pieces, which is the second secondshow that I ever wrote. That took
me about I would say, twoweeks, kind of picking it up off
and on, and I wrote thatfrom the notion, I said, well,
if I can make the antagonist someonewho's typically considered the you know,
the the person who's the villain,If I can make her the main character
and make the audience not able tojudge her or fall for the situation as
(37:30):
she's falling for it. Then I'ma writer, and so that's why I
wrote pieces with the Mistress as thefemale lead. And yeah, and that
was also nominated twice and one twice, and so then I said, okay,
this is I can do this.At that point, you were like,
Okay, I think I kind ofknow what I'm doing a little bit.
Yeah, that has given me thegifts. I realized it was a
(37:52):
gift because I went back and startedand read a book about writing, and
I was like, wow, everythingthat is saying I know actually did like
it. Just it just happened. And I know part of that too,
also had a lot to do withI had so much of a theater background,
so you don't realize you're absorbing things. You're not necessarily intentionally doing it,
but you're absorbing. And so Ifeel like that had something to do
(38:15):
with it as well, you know, in conjunction with a gift as a
writer kind of you know what todo to keep audiences entertained, but intertwined.
I think where I found a sweetspot is I've done both. You
know types of theater what people considerthe you know, season theatergoers, ticket
holders, you know, the Alliancetheaters. But I've also done, like
(38:36):
I said, the Tyler Perry's andShirley Garrett, And I think where I
found the beautiful middle ground is beingable to tell stories in a very real
way, in a very intelligent way, but also extremely entertaining. So you
know, if you're a season theatergoer, you won't feel like, you
know, you're getting anything water down, but if you are new to theater,
(39:00):
you will still feel like you canfollow the story and that you you
know, you're entertained. So Ikind of married the best of both worlds,
I believe, which is why I'vebeen able to find the success that
I've had. Absolutely well, congratulationson all of your success. I mean,
what a way to be reaffirmed inyour gift that God has given you,
(39:22):
you know, and just listening toyou talk about like, well,
you know, I did it likefour days. It's like it was something
that was in you that you neededto actually materialize. And I feel that's
when it just becomes like, Idon't know, it's I guess it's just
a sign that is truly your gift, and this is your gift, and
I would like for you to inviteeveryone out to witness your gift when it
(39:45):

(43:40):
Y'all have a great win. Yousay, okay, bye bye.
All right, Carla, let's goahead and take a break, and when
we come back, we'll go aheadand wrap up the show. So,
Carla, the funniest thing I hadto talk about this on the pot before
we left, right. So,the biggest story on the site this week
(44:04):
was this young lady who got onTikTok to air out Anthony Mackie because she
saw him at a gas station atNew Orleans and she went up to talk
to him and he was like,no man. Wait. Listen. She
tried to air that black man out, and social media gave her a rude
(44:27):
awakening. They gave her a realitycheck. First things first, it is
in the Bible. I forgot exactlywhere the scripture is but it says thou
shalt not approach Anthony Mackie or somethinglike that. But you know why,
like, look, I guess Imissed it or all right, so beat
this. You know I would havebeen hurt because I had no clue.
You didn't know that Anthony Mackie's crew. Oh girl, let me tell you
(44:51):
real quick. Let me inform youand other members of the black community about
Anthony Mackie. Anthony Mackie is atalented actor. He fine too on what
you like, okay, but hedon't want to be bothered in public.
No way, no, ma'am,No, ma'am. He does not want
to be bothered. He does notwant you to tell him you are a
fan. He does not want youto say hello, he does not want
(45:14):
to take photos with you. Leavethat black man alone. Anthony Mackie ain't
beat I don't know if he's sometype of introvert. I don't know if
he's just an innate asshole. Idon't know what it is that sounds about
it, what's and it is knownthroughout the black community for the most part.
(45:36):
Okay, because I didn't get tonotice. She ain't get it either,
Bestie, and see I would havehad to hurt Anthony Mackie if he
hit you with the new I wouldhave to hurt that man, like don't
play. Just would have got mefirst. You would have gotten me free.
I would have got you. Iwould have let you go there.
You wouldn't let me go over there. I wouldn't let you. I want
y'all to hear a portion of howmad sis was. I'm talking about super
(46:02):
duper mad. Let me just playa little piece of this fort hold on
and let me just say hold on. So I just met Anthony Mackie,
And let me just say, rudesthuman being alive. So I live in
New Orleans. I'm here for springbreak. Apparently Anthony Mackie lives here too.
I put up to a gas stationhere Anthony Mackie comes in this huge
(46:25):
fucking truck, all blacked out,all fucking sleek, windows down. So
it's like, Also, if youdon't want people to come up to you
and fucking say how much they appreciateyour work, why the fuck are all
your windows down and your blasting musicsmoking a fucking cigar. So I parked
my car getting ready to pump mygas. I see Anthony Mackie across the
(46:46):
fucking lot. I gently walk upto him, being like, oh my
god, I'm so sorry to bother. Wait for the celebrities are on time.
I know celebrities got shit to do. I understand that. So I
walk up being very very very respectful, very very very open minded, being
like, hey, I'm so sorryto bother. You tell me why Anthony
(47:07):
Mackie did this? No, noto my face, no, and then
just went back to what he wasdoing. Me standing there. He was
standing there in front of Anthony Mackie, being like, oh should I should
(47:29):
I leap? Like? Should Ishould I go? When? I tell
you, all I wanted to dowas walk up to that man first of
all, thank you for his timefor even looking at me, and then
saying how much I appreciated his work. And that was it. That was
it. Listen, baby, Anthony, don't care if you like his work.
This this why y'all gotts stopped? All right? So look, look
(47:52):
it's like a real quick go aheadresist. First of all, just because
he got his windows down, likeit's things I agree with, disagree,
Okay, let's go, because likehe got his windows down and he blasted
his music. He's a human being, like, that's his right, that's
what he do. That don't giveyou the right to come up to him,
because at the end of the day, I agree, like I understand
not wanting to be bothered, butat the same time, as a human
(48:15):
being, I felt like he couldhave been a little more. Uh.
The whole note thing is funny asshit. He could have He could have
just been like, listen, I'msorry, but I really don't I don't
feel like talking right now type ofthing. But that no, wait,
that no has set me off. That no i'd have been. I'm just
telling you, I'm gonna have beenbooked because I bust his whole back when
(48:37):
shell out, I'm telling you andI'm not even I'm not even like that.
But that got you out. That'slike a former rejection from it to
me. Okay, but hear meout. Hear me out. Go ahead,
I'm listening. We about to playgood cop bad cop today. Hear
me out. Based off of thatvideo that you just saw, right and
(48:57):
her energy and her attitude, hervoice, would you want to be bothered
with her at the guess That's whatI'm saying because she probably yet with that
true that because she's telling us onething, and the way her energy come
off, she comes off like shebumped. And that's the thing, Like,
I don't because I'm a person,I'm not even famous. I don't
like when somebody run up on mespecial personal space. So I could see.
I could That's why I said Icould see both sides. But I
(49:21):
feel like, at the end ofthe day, when you I'm not saying
this an obligation, but when youbecome any form of celebrity, any form
of famous, come with the territory. Okay, so you said it's not
an obligation, d you? Okay, So we're gonna remove the word obligation.
How about responsibility, Like it's ait can be a responsibility to be
(49:42):
kind. Yes, I love that. I like that responsibility to be kind.
He could easily hit her with alike babe, like I'm just trying
to get some gas real quick. But y'all get on back to that.
She said he was in a vibethough, because first of all, the
music was bumping, the windows wasdown, and he was smoking a cigar.
(50:05):
If you have a cigar in yourmouth, more than likely you ain't
beat to be meeting people. Totell you not you totally in your zone,
like yeah, and I get it. I get it. I remember
I told you about the time Itried to get Deon Sanders to take a
picture of me and Golden Corral?Did you not the buffet? I was
(50:27):
at the buffet, girl. Ican't remember this. We might rewind it.
Don't sound familiar. I'm like DionSanders, legendary Hall of Famer Dion
Sanders time Prime time. He wasn'teven coke. Well yeah he was coach
prime, but not coach prime thatwe know today. But he had I
guess, like a little Little Leagueteam or like you know, a foundation
(50:52):
team that he was working with, and he took him the Golden Corral to
get some neat. Now y'all know, Golden Corral was my move, okay,
prior to COVID nineteen. If youwanted to find me, listen,
young Johson, no outcast. Theysaid all day, straight up, pimp,
if you want me, you couldfind me in Hey, I'm on
it, I'm on it. Iwas like, you can find me at
(51:13):
the Rail. I'm on it,I'm on it. I went to gold
in Corral so much that I knewthe cashier is by name. Yeah,
she's not lying either. Come downthere to visit. They all knew.
You knew everybody every time you cameto visit. W I just straight up
that's that's that's no cap y'all.Okay, Golden Crall, buffet, baby,
you can have whatever you like, and Golden Corral. So I see
(51:36):
Coach Prime and Golden Corral and I'mlike, Jay, that's Dion Sanders.
So he was walking by and wewas like, what's up, Coach Prime?
And he was like, oh,hey, how y'all doing? How
you know your country? You know? He's like, hey, how y'all
doing? Or whatever. I waslike. So he stopped at our table
and was like, what's up?Like chating? Okay, I'll talk,
mind you, but chatting right? And I was like, okay, I
(52:00):
would be a whole dummy not toask to get a picture, because like
he's right here, Prime, Igot a blog. I'm trying to be
a blog, you know, I'mtrying to my little cloud up. And
I was like, Coach Prime, you mind if we take a picture game?
He was like, oh no,no, no, I ain't gonna
take no picture with you. Hesaid, oh no, no, no,
(52:23):
I ain't gonna take no picture withyou. He's like, I'm He's
yeah, let me tell you.I felt like a dummy, but then
he said nah. He was like, I ain't no star today. I'm
a coach today. These kids hewas like, And I was like,
(52:44):
oh yeah, that was smooth, though he flipped it. Oh no,
no, I ain't gonna take nopicture with you. That like, you
ain't talk. Okay, we canstay here chit chat around his buffet,
the sweet potatoes. We could talkby the Rotesseri chicken. We ain't take
(53:06):
no pictures. I ain't take nopicture with you. That's yo, I
ain't. I ain't take no picture. That should have been I wish at
the time you had that recording classlike yeah, like, I ain't take
it over he just play that whatyou know what I really like? I
was thinking about it one day.You know when I do my Friday night
(53:27):
chats on Facebook and if you havenot seen those, join me at ten
pm on Friday night on Facebook whereI do our Friday night chats and it's
very interactive. You know. Idid bring the comments in and all kinds
of other good stuff. But Itell like story times and I was thinking
to myself. I was like,yo, I have so many celebrity story
encounters. Whatnot? Some of themI may not feel comfortable telling, but
(53:52):
I do have some stories. AndI was like, I wish there was
just like someplace I could aggregate thosestories or like try to, you know,
just create content out of them. But yeah, we're gonna work on
that. Okay, she got alot, y'all, she got a lot.
Yeah, that might be my storytime for Friday. So if y'all
listening to the podcast pretending here italready, it's a great titlele pict Yo,
(54:17):
I would I holler, I'm sorryyou'd have been so mad at me?
Oh my gosh. It was pureYeah, it's like it's funny.
Now. I'm not gonna say thatbecause I probably have felt some type of
way though. I felt a littlecrunchy, but I kept a smile on
my face. Keep it. What'swhy we having dinner. Haven't been mad
mad? You know, Jack,We're embarrassed. I felt embarrassed, Okay,
(54:37):
okay, because you know, sometimesno triggers embarrassment. It does to
me. It's like I'm telling you, I might have some ship I need
to work on. But I'm tellingyou Anthony Mackie would have no, no,
no me like that. He waslike, no, you know what
I thought about the bugs, Bunnymean you know where bucks buddy like new
lips cooked out. It's wrong,yo. Now yeah, so shout out
(55:02):
to Anthony Mackie. Listen, heis America. And then it's funny because
you know, one thing that Inoticed about our community, because that's what
I speak to and that's what I'ma part of. We have a tendency
when someone doesn't like something that wedo. May be kind of similar to
me, Dragon Loretta Devine. Butsomeone got down in the comments and was
(55:24):
like, I know he not tryingto act like he too good to speak
to somebody old celest actor. Isaid, I said, we don't,
we don't. Damn She said seedless. See So I said, ma'am,
that black man is avenger. Seewhere he see for Captain America. He
(55:45):
is the new Captain America. Thisman has made history as the black Captain
of America. But you know whatthat might have hit her hit home for
her. She might I'm telling usall about how you come in because somebody
like me, like I said,I did not know that to be Maggie,
but I'm not the type and zibyou could tell him I ain't the
(56:06):
type either to be all Joe andbe jumping up in your I mean,
now there's certain folks. Now,if I see Booty, yeah, see
who would you lose? Not loseit? But I know I would have
to walk whether he wanted to bebothered or not. You got to say
something to boot Yeah, I gottasaid so, all right? Who else
would I? Oh gosh, Iwould be so give me three Booty and
(56:27):
two more Drake mm hmm, ohgosh, Nives, I'm just disrespectful like
and I know knives don't want tobe bothered. He oh, look like
I don't want to be bothered asman ain't hmm. He looked like he
don't want to be bothered. Gonnatalk to me today? Yes, those
(56:50):
are the ones I could think of, like right right, because most of
it, I feel like the peoplethat I would have lost my ship over
they're all dead. Yeah yeah, yeah. What about you, Viola Davis?
Yeah yeah, you definitely Viola Davisto happen. I need that to
happen. I was so close.I was so close when I did Red
(57:14):
carpet for Fences now, and theycame down that carpet and said Viola will
not be able to join us.Said that was what Denzel too? Right,
Yeah, right night I met densaid you got I mean, if
you had to choose, you haveViola, yeah, or Denzel, would
you have? Oh my, honestly, I would chose Viola. I think
(57:38):
you chose La violaists she hit somethingin my heart. Man. I love
that lady. And it's so funny. God is so amazing. I'm putting
my fingertips together like Keith Lee.God is amazing. I love Lashawna Lynch
and I had the opportunity to interviewher last week. Say look at that,
(57:58):
y'all, just to be able totell her how much I love her
and how amazing she is. Andto me, I feel like she's Viola
junior. And it's not to diminishLashawa. I just Leashaanna just has that
fact. That thing. Man,it's that thing no matter what role she
is playing, no matter what filmor project she's a part of, she
(58:21):
just has that thing. And youreally to get her in Viola Davis together
and Woman King was Christmas. Itwas Christmas and Kwanza together my gene.
So okay, so let me sing. But all right, so I'm taking
her off the list. So youknow Maya Angelou used to be on my
list? Okay, oh yeah,me too. I would totally have to
(58:45):
fit that. I wanted to hearthat. Tell me why the cage bird
saying Maya Angelou was on my list? I feel like yours are going too.
And Prince, I'm like, I'mnaming you asked you the name three
and I'm like, and I'm namingon friends. Yeah, lord, yep,
(59:06):
you don't think I'm so alive. It would be Viola Davis. There
is something out Michelle Obama. Okay, yeah, I want to kick it
with Michelle. Yeah, I wantto kick it with Michelle. And at
one point in time, and I'mjust going to use this because I can't
think of my third right now.And I'll come back with it next week
(59:27):
if not. At one point intime, one of my goals was to
dance with Ellen. You remember that. Oh yeah, I wanted to dance
with Ellen. Yeah. I wantedto hit my two step, but I
was gonna show out. I wasgonna show out on Ellen l because you
know, Ellen does that little heyoh, I was gonna be hitting my
douggie owner and everything swag surfing.I was gonna show out. I was
(59:52):
gonna show out on everything my cheeksclass. Well, I don't give it
to her. I was gonna giveit to Ellen. That's probably why the
Lord ain't make it. I wasreally going to give it to LM.
And our last story. I justwant to touch on this because I just
want to tell you how I reportedon this story, and I want to
tell you the beautiful flower that bloomedfrom this story. So yesterday I wrote
(01:00:15):
about Halle Berry, and Halle Berryhas been a huge advocate for women's health,
especially when it comes to menopause andPerry menopause, and she recently did
some type of summit or panel withFirst Lady Joe Biden. It was so
funny when I wrote First Lady JoeBiden. I was like, y'all,
I forgot about her. Yeah,I literally a lot of us subject.
(01:00:37):
Okay, all right, we'll getinto that later, Okay, because we
try to keep the show short todaybecause we gave y'all a lot of show
last week, so we're trying tobe mindful this week. All Right,
So halle Berry, you know, had this panel with First Lady Joe Biden,
and she talked about how she hada herpie scare, but the symptom
(01:01:00):
were caused by Perry menopause. SoHallie shared how at fifty four, she
found the love of her life,Van Hunt. Van Hunt is a singer
songwriter and he's very good looking andhim and Hallie look like a Golden Corral
buffet together, okay. And shesaid they was having a whole lot of
sex, like a lot of sex, which made First Lady Joe Biden blush
(01:01:24):
a little bit uncomfortable. She waslike, I'm not about to tell y'all
about my sex, ma'am. Wedidn't ask to hear about it. I
don't want to hear about Joe clappingyour cheeks, ma'am. I do know.
Stop man, he can't even rideall let alone Roger from home.
I am not interested. I'm noteven interested in his policies at this point.
(01:01:47):
Let alone, no, ma'am.No. Okay. So with that
being said, Hallie continued and saidthat after one of her sessions with Van
that she experienced a lot of pain, so much so that she made a
doctor's appointment and went to the doctor's. Now, keep in mind that had
(01:02:08):
to be a lot of pain, because typically you can't get a doctor's appointment
the same day. But I amnot in the same tax break. Yeah,
I was about to say so infive minutes later. The type of
money she got okay back, Butanother point that I want to drive home
though, is having a lot ofmoney does not necessarily mean that you're going
to get a good doctor. CaliBerry went into that doctor's office, and
(01:02:30):
she went to her male physician, who looked at her and told her she
had the worst case of herpes hehas ever seen. This is without testing,
This is without a swab, ablood test, none and nothing.
He looked at this Oscar winning actressand was like, girl, you got
a horrible case of the hurt. And I can only imagine the trauma,
(01:02:55):
the trauma, the shock, thefear, the confusion because it's RESPONSI doctor.
I've never heard a doctor do somethingwithout Yeah, I'm testing, and
I'm like, where did you getyour doctors? Like where did you have
dollar tree back at? Okay,So anyway, so she ends up going
(01:03:22):
back to Van. Van gets pointsbecause Van immediately went and got tested.
She got tested and both of themcame back negative. Apparently she went and
got a second opinion and they werelike, oh, this was caused by
vaginal dryness, so on and soforth, which is of perimenopause. Your
(01:03:44):
cousins in my comments was like,so she just let him keep going,
and she would dried to the pointwhere she she everything down there just tore
up. And the doctor thought itwas like, that's not the point,
y'all be missing the point, Likesometimes I could lay the point on your
forehead and you missed the point. The point that she wanted to make was
that she was willing to tell usthat she thought she had herpes to drive
(01:04:09):
home the point of how important itis to know and understand the symptoms of
perimenopause, right because I have hearda lot of women talking about perimenopause.
I know menopause, and to betransparent, the only thing I know about.
If you asked me what's menopause,I'll be like, it's when your
(01:04:30):
period stop and you get high flashesand your hormones get weird. That's all
I can tell you about. Parrypause. You know, there are so
many other things associated with these twoconditions, and so I wanted to share
a little bit of information because weare responsible around here and some of y'all
don't like to read, so therefore, I'm going to have to tell you.
(01:04:50):
So here are some common symptoms ofperimenopause. And perimenopause is the stage
in which, I guess we gonnacall it the pre party to menopause.
Okay, it's the appetizer to thefull course of menopause, So perimenopause.
Some of the symptoms are mood changes, changes in your sexual desire, trouble
(01:05:15):
concentrating, headaches, night sweats, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, trouble with
sleep, joint and muscle aches, heavy sweating, having to pee often,
and PMS like symptoms. Don't Isound like those commercials for those the symptoms
of perimenopause. The one thing thatI definitely want to drive home. I
want to note that perimenopause may lookdifferent for everybody because from my understanding and
(01:05:43):
the education that I learned yesterday andpreparing this post, perimenopause affects your body
the way your body works. Yourbody is uniquely yours, right, So
that's how perimenopause is gonna treat ituniquely yours, and also I want you
got to take note that perimental pausemay trigger the symptoms of something that it
(01:06:04):
may not be in Hollie's case inpoint herpies. Okay, So I was
going through this list and I waslike, mood change is check changing,
sexual desire check, trouble concentrating checkcheck check. I just told JB the
other day, I said, everytime I sit down to work, I've
(01:06:25):
even told you. I was like, I had the hardest time like focusing
and concentrating, and it makes mefeel like I don't want to work because
it's so hard to stay engaged.I wrote a blog post yesterday and forgot
to share it on socials. Iwas already writing the second blog post and
I have a routine, but Iwas so my brain fog is so thick
(01:06:49):
that, like, even with thelittle last thing, when I was trying
to do like the symptoms and makeit sound like the commercials, like,
I can't. I fumble over mywords sometimes stutter, I get tongue tied,
I can't think. And lord,we're not gonna talk about the eddema
in my legs. I told youat the top of the show. My
night sweats are so bad. I'mgonna start wearing a bathing suits. Bad.
(01:07:13):
I have trouble sleeping. I tossedin turn all night long, and
some nights I am so upset thatlike I literally want to fight because I
can't go to sleep. So Ihaven't experienced like hot flashes. I have
headaches out of nowhere, headaches thathurt so bad. I was wondering if
my brain was trying to ooze outof my ear. So, if you
(01:07:33):
are at that age where you knowmenopause is coming around the corner, you
know, just ladies can sult yourphysician, talk to them about some of
the symptoms you're experiencing. I don'tknow if they have any specific tests that
they run because I ain't got tothat part of my lesson planning. I
don't know if there's no I don'tthink, so okay, all right,
(01:07:54):
So it's basically you just giving themthe information they and they said, yeah,
you're kind of diagnosing yourself. Youknow, you just it's a symptom
thing and it goes on for somany years sometimes that like it's hard to
really tell. Some people have, like I just know from experience from the
women in my family. Also,I know, I would add is kind
of pay attention to the women inyour family. Yeah, specifically your mother
and grandmother, because even though everybody'sdifferent, you tend to the way they
(01:08:18):
go through it. You may havei know, like my mom and grandmoms
with symptoms okay, the length andalso similarities in like the symptoms. Okay.
I think that I'm not saying it'sa stone fact, but a lot
of times if you I think it'sgood experience. Like also so you kind
of like, even if you don'tget it exact symptoms, you kind of
(01:08:39):
know what the kind of Okay, yeah, prepare for or not be as
frightened. But we don't get alot of information, I think as black
women, especially about Perryman and Boss. Well, let me tell you the
beautiful thing that happened. Of course, you know, you had people who
got hung up and hung up inthe hot in the headline. There I
go again, who got hung upin the headline? Like, oh,
(01:09:00):
halle Berry, I bet halle Berrydo have herbie? She just trying to
lie to cover it up. AndI'm like, the minds are small,
but the mouths are big, right, And it's like yo, the messaging
like sometimes just goes over your head. But a beautiful thing happened, and
that's what I'm gonna focus on.There were women on Facebook, and I'm
(01:09:23):
going to speak to Facebook specifically whojust started sharing. I mean, girl,
it turned into like it turned intolike a focus group. It was
I experienced this, this, this, this, and Halle is right,
and this, this, that andthe third and then somebody else came in
and was like, I'm you know, I'm menopausal, I had a hysterectomy.
I experienced this. I'm prairie menopausal. I experienced this. What does
(01:09:45):
this mean? And then it waslike, hey, I took this like
ahwagandha. I don't know if I'mpronouncing it correctly, but it's some type
of root ashwaganda root or something. And she was like, and that helped
me with the hot flashes and itliterally turned into like support. And you
(01:10:06):
know, one of the things Istruggle with, and I talk to you
about this privately, is that withice cream convos, I do celebrity news
and entertainment. People don't need celebritynews and entertainment to live. It's escapism.
It is a form of entertainment. It's just people Newsy or they light
tea or mess or whatever, andthey come and they get it. And
(01:10:28):
you know, I always wanted tohave my platform to entertain and provide escapism,
but I also want you to beable to come get something of value.
And yesterday I was sitting with myarms crossed like a proud mama because
I felt like I brought value. And I had people who were telling me,
thank you so much for the informativeposts. And I was like,
Okay, I can't inform my taedlike y'all need to read all of them
(01:10:50):
because I'll be having the information, you know. But I had people who
thank me for the post. Ihave people who said they learned about perimenopause
from my and I'm just like, value, yes, you value value.
Yeah. So I was really ona high about that yesterday. But I
just encourage all of you just to, you know, take your health in
(01:11:11):
the consideration, because some of usare so busy on the go as moms
and wives and career women and whateverit is that you do. Sometimes we
push our health to the back becausechild, we ain't got time to make
no doubt deportment, no no donappointment. We got to get to do
whatever it is we have to do. So just make time for yourself,
especially your health, because your healthis your actual wealth. Okay, so
(01:11:32):
I'm gonna go ahead and wrap thisup and make me a doctor's appointment,
Carlo, is there anything you wantto add on that before we tie up
this up? Now? You saidthat beautifully and perfectly. I mean,
I think that's the message and I'mand I'm happy that that's what was brought
out of it for you. Andthen on top of that, like it
shows that what Hallie like, whatshe's trying to do, it's working.
(01:11:54):
It's working. You know, you'regonna always have negative voices, but just
remember like the good gonna always owayto bed. I don't care how much
you say it. So absolutely we'realways going to have those few ignorant minds.
But no, that's it. Wewrap that up beautifully. Oh thank
you friend. All Right, guys, well, thank you so much for
tuning in to today's show. Asalways, we encourage you to be a
