Shanda VanderArk 44 ára, fimm barna móðir, var dæmd til lífstíðar í fangelsi fyrir morð og barnaníð í tengslum við dauða 15 ára sonar hennar Timothy Ferguson. Timothy fannst látinn 6. júlí 2022 á heimili Vander Ark fjölskyldunnar í Norton Shores. Shanda var ekki ein að verki, heldur aðstoðaði 20 ára sonur hennar Paul Ferguson hana við að níðast á Timothy þar til hann lést.
