In Here, Out There: Stories from the Road

A sleepy day... Here's a poem I wrote a few years ago about a moment of energy, an electric high, a time when I realized that I'd be ok again.... someday. 

Part of this podcast is examining myself in relation to the world. Looking 'in here' while I'm 'out there.' Dig? 

Yeah I know, it's obscure. It's a poem. So.... I dunno, listen a few times, maybe you'll get something out of it. 

Today was the last day of the Great American Tiny House Show - Tampa edition. A few of us created a neat little impromptu community there, and honestly, for the first time in a while, I felt a bit of hope for humanity.

I wrote this while cruising the straights of I-95 South through Georgia and Florida this week. After chilling with some owls this evening, I thought I'd share my thoughts on becoming more aware of existence - by listening, learning, and building fluency in the  -way-  existence unfolds.

Hard on the heels of a government shutdown -averted and with the declaration of a 'state of emergency' by the president, I thought we could chat about a little thought-experiment/colloquialism. I'm wondering if you've ever heard of this saying before.... take a quick listen.

I received a cryptic postcard in the mail... to an address almost no one has. There was a just a phone number and a note that said "Ask for Jennifer". Today I call the number.

I recorded this podcast three times before coming to a more concise thought. Here it is. (Also some exciting news about tomorrow's episode.)

Today I'm thinking about passive and institutional racism, how it spreads, how it comes to exist. I could tell you my theories, but let's cut to the chase and get to work.... listen, I think you'll get what I mean. 

Today some folks are having a snow day. I'm leaving work early to venture through the snow and sleet in my adventure van. Let's talk about snow days and driving theory and land preservation, yeah?

I was listening to the wind in the trees and thought about the local lake here. It's man-made and fed by a small creek. I felt bad for the creek and I wrote this little thing.
