You're going to have a moment.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Well, it's going to be fun.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
You don't even know what to say at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Well, you know it's on the fly.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
It is on the fly.
This whole show is on the fly,my God.
So we have a choice.
I can either do recalls, whichI love there's some goodies in
here this year this hour or wecan do Heming's Soul Car Weekly
Roundup.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
We also have a question from the Internet that
you could answer if you want to,at some point in here Do it.
I'm afraid.
Read it, go for it.
George wants to know if it wasCandace Thackery Sneed that
turned you into Mr Duff.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
No, it was not.
And it was Sneed that turnedyou into Mr Duff.
No, it was not.
And it was Walter Duff.
No, no, it was not.
All right, george, that's thebest I can do.
I think it was Homeroom and youknow, call his name.
Hello, mcfly.
Hello, not here.
Yes, bueller.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Bueller.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yeah, I wasn't there and I clearly wasn't in my mind,
but in my mind I had it allfigured out that it was supposed
to work this certain way.
It just didn't.
It didn't go that way.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
See, you didn't have a devious mind, you weren't a
villain back then.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
No, I wasn't, and I'm still not today, not
intentionally anyway.
All right, here's some of therecalls that I need to get in
this morning.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Did we decide on recalls?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, I think we did, I guess, we did apparently
Instrument panel failure in theJeep Gladiator for 2020 through
2024 and the Jeep Wrangler for2018 through 2024.
The instrument panel failsStellantis recalling more than
1.2 million pickups because ofan anti-lock braking system

(03:06):
software malfunction that candisable the electronic stability
control system, potentiallycausing a vehicle crash without
prior warning.
Do you know of many priorwarnings in vehicle crashes?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
No, Not usual.
I think that's something weought to invent.
Oh, you're going to have acrash in five miles.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
No, Hold on.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Wait a minute, you're going to have a crash in five
miles.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
No, hold on, wait a minute, you're going to have a
crash now.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That's the way it usually works, and then there's
some bad language used.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Recall effects 2019 through 2024, ram 1500 pickups
and 100% of the vehicles areexpected to have the defect.
According to documents filedwith NHTSA, defective vehicles
are produced from October 31,2017, and received the February
14, 2024 ABS module softwareupdate.

(03:50):
So they've been updated, so nowthey're going to have to update
the update.
Way to go, nice.
Nhtsa is also launching aninquiry into Stellantis
following reports of unexplainedfires starting under vehicle
hoods.
Into Stellantis, followingreports of unexplained fires
starting under vehicle hoods.
The investigation is estimatedto affect over 780,000 vehicles
covering the 2021 through 2023Jeep Wrangler and the 21 through

(04:15):
23 Jeep Gladiator.
Nine vehicle ownerquestionnaires were received by
the Office of Defects thatreported unexpected fires and
most indicated the firesoccurred while the ignition was
in the off position.
Passenger side of the enginecompartment is suspected as
being the origin point.
According to documents filedwith nizza, park it outside
until you know for sure I wantto know more about this office

(04:37):
of defects.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Is that a big place?
Is that hundreds of people?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
that work there.
No, it's got one little old manthere, bald-headed, with some
round inspector glasses on.
He's got a whole office justfor defect and he's got a stamp
All day long.
That's all he does, defectdefect, defect defect, wow,

(05:03):
volkswagen ID.4.
Have you seen one of those, mars?

Speaker 2 (05:06):
No, I have not.
I have not seen one.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
We typically, every once in a while, get a
Volkswagen, but we've not seenany electric Volkswagens.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
We see a lot of the Cybertrucks lately, a lot of
Teslas.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Improperly secured passenger airbag inflator.
That would be kind of like theairbag that was in the movie
Vacation, oh yeah, where thething blew up in his face.
All it was was a trash bag, butit was pretty good.
Volkswagen, like I said,recalling 98,000 ID4 compact
crossovers because of defectivedoor handles that offer

(05:40):
insufficient water protection.
Martha, did you open the door?
No, wait a minute.
Oh, martha, martha, there shegoes down.

(06:03):
She's on the feeder.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
The door opened.
They need the Ken Diggett doorhandles.
They do, yeah, they flush inthere.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
So those are the recalls.
I think that what we need to dois we need to have us a little
game time.
We have the Texans playingtomorrow evening.
We do On Sunday night football.
We've got Alabama Crimson Tideplaying today at 11 o'clock.
We have the Texans playingtomorrow evening.
We do On Sunday night football.
Yep yep, We've got AlabamaCrimson Tide playing today at 11
o'clock.

(06:31):
I heard the roof's going to beopen for the Texans yes, it is,
or at least at this point intime, they've decided that Right
.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, the forecast is pretty good, and it'll be a
rare event when the roof is openand you know, we, as taxpayers,
paid a lot of money to havethat thing open and close.
It's never open.
Well, the last hurricane openedit.
Yeah, I did some panels on.
Yeah, yeah, like a can opener,uh, but I have to disagree with

(06:58):
that.
But understanding it's supposedto rain tomorrow afternoon
through the evening.
Good, I mean, I'm just sayingthey probably make that.
Do I need to look that gametime decision?
I don't know.
But, uh, and you talked aboutwhat, what crimson, who funny
it's okay, we'll get you.

(07:19):
Astros are playing today.
They won last night.
Yeah, uh, there was a arca raceon yesterday and then it was
also the An ARCA race on Friday.
Friday afternoon evening,friday.
Yeah, they got to get them in.
When they get them in ARCA'sthe you know, lesser Third tier?

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Yeah, third tier.
Arca used to be the second tierback in the day.
Arca is different to a racingseries but they ran alongside
NASCAR Winston Cup at the timeand Arco race was on Saturday
and a lot of the kind of like itis now with the secondary

(07:56):
Xfinity series.
Is it the Xfinity series?
Is that the second?
Yeah, that's the second.
Yeah, it's like a Busch series,yeah.
And so back in the day ARCA was, they were the bomb as coming
through the ranks.
Anyway, let's do the sold carsroundup fun game, shall we?
So the boys are going to guessthe sold price of vehicles off

(08:21):
of Hemmingscom.
Sold cars roundup I've got toconcentrate, all right.
Old Cars Roundup I've got toconcentrate, all right.
Now I want you to put your mindinto.
Let's see 1958.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Oh, it was just a wheel ad Two-door hardtop 1958
Chevrolet Biscayne.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Ooh, looks like a restomod Been lowered, medium
blue in color, has some you knowaftermarket wheels on it.
Just enough chrome trim Looksreally good, kind of like
Richie's brother in Americangraffiti.
Remember the white and black inBiscayne?
Mm-hmm, it's like that.
How much do you think thatthat's sold for?

(09:04):
Oh, oh, oh 32.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
That's what I was going to say.
I wrote mine down, all right.
Well, I'm going to take 28,then 28.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Well, it's $23,100.
Oh, very good, michael, thatwould be a great car to buy.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
I'm going to give you that one.
It's very unique.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
That's only a one-year model car.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
I was.
It changed the body style.
Well, it goes from 57 to 58 andthen 59.
Those are all three differentbodies and you can play along at
home too.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
So whoever wins, mike will come to your house and
wash your car.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Here's one, 1987 Chevrolet Corvette.
Oh, this was the first modelyear, if I'm not mistaken, that
was built in Bowling Green 1987Chevrolet Corvette.
It's a coupe, okay.
And how much do you think thatthat sold for the online auction

(09:59):
at Hemmingscom?
Damn, I'm going to start goingfirst $12.
I said $11.
$4,100.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Okay, On Hemmings.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Uh-100.
Okay On Hemings.
Uh-huh man, there, it is rightthere.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
I mean because you know it's got to be a driver.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
This is for Jeff A 1969 Chevrolet Nova.
Oh, I can't tell you how manyChevrolet Novas that I washed at
Richardson Chevrolet.
Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
You felt good about it, didn't you?
69.
Chevrolet Novas that I washedat Richardson Chevrolet.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Okay, you felt good about it, didn't you?
Because it was 69.
Because it was the entry-levelChevrolet back in the day, yep,
and they made them in four doorsand they made them in two doors
.
This happens to be the grocerygetter car, two-door, I would
say priceless, but I'll let yougo first.
They also made some hotmarketwheels on it.
I don't know anything about theother conditions or engine

(10:52):
style 17.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
17.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I'm going to go 9.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
How about $110,250?

Speaker 2 (11:02):
I did say priceless.
I did say priceless, what thehell.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
There's something else there SS or an RS.
Oh boy.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
No, that's a big block all the way.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
You think Did they put a big block in there?
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, youcould get a 396 in them.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, okay, and there's something on the.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
The grill's got BS is what it is.
Anyway, here's one for you Boys, you Ford Mustang fans Jeez,
1965 black on black Ford Mustangconvertible.
I don't recall them making aconvertible, but maybe they did.

(11:44):
I'm sorry, don, what year againA 1965 Ford Mustang convertible
, what?
But maybe they did.
I'm sorry, don, what year againA 1965 Ford Mustang convertible
.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
What, yes, they did.
In fact, they made theconvertible before they made the
other one, I think he's right.
They had to have the bodystressing and everything.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Okay, so 65 Ford Mustang, black on black
convertible.
Looks like it's got wire wheelcovers on it.
That would be fact automatic.
I don't know, that automatic or3 speed, whatever 25, I'm going
to go 50 23 363 yeah, I'mbetting 3 speed and you know

(12:21):
part of the reason that I wasattracted to this thing that we
do here is the fact that you canbuy.
If you're interested in gettinginto any kind of a collector
car, which is an everyday driver.
You want to get something thatmaybe, perhaps that you can
modify, buy something that's allcompletely stocked Hemings.
They got these cars.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Yeah, and there's a few other places, but they vet
them, so you've got to be acertain caliber.
The best they can.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
They usually have lots of pictures on there.
You know, if you're looking forthis particular one, the 57
Chevy Bel Air, you can find outwhether or not it's got the
six-cylinder or the V8 in it, oryou know.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Well, yeah, like I say, you've got to vet them and
then you know there's thecriteria to get into that, and
then if they can also refuse totake it for their reasons, so
here is a 57 Chevy Bel Airfour-door sedan.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
How much do you think ?
And it looks completely factorystock.
I don't know about the color,but it's medium blue and it's
nice.
It's got a white top on it,very clean, got full wheel
covers on it, stock looking.
How much do you think that carlike that would sell for you go
first, but there's my number.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Where's your number?
I'm going to say $9,000.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
$100K, $10,100.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
I just paid 10 times more.
You're the guy I want to sellto and the reason being is
because it's a four-door.
If it were a two-door it wouldbe a whole different world.
I agree, but the four-doors arekind of coming up because the
two-doors got so expensive.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
What was your number on that?
Nine, nine, okay, but don'twant to give you that one, so
Mike's ahead.
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
All right, this is one for you, mars it with no
doors, and it's got a camper onthe back of it.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Price just went up 1977 Ford F250.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
So it's a three-quarter ton and not one of
the most attractive trucks inthe entire world.
Two-tone, with a panel paintedon the bottom.
No, it's one color and it'sbeige.
This is perfect.
This is perfect for Mars, yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
Probably got a four-speed granny gear type
transmission.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Cab over camper.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Nope, oh, just like you got on the in-wheel time
truck Like a Lyric aluminum top.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Yeah, man, I was thinking maybe it's home away
from home 77 F Ford 250.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
$12,000.
Mars Three-quarter ton 14.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
14,963 is what it sold for Hot diggity.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Speaking of trucks, while we're in that category,
here's another one, a 1954 F100,which would today be considered
a half ton.
It's all fixed up, all gussiedup.
It's not a radical Restomod.
Looks like it's probably stock.
It's got a pretty nice lookingpaint job on it, medium blue

(15:12):
with white grill treatment to it, just stock looking Okay.
54 Ford F-150.
F-100.
Who's going to go first?
What do you think it's going tobe?
14.
22.
14.7.
14.
7.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Ooh, I got one.

Speaker 1 (15:31):

Deuce and a quarter Dude thisthing.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
It's not a Wildcat, is it?
No, it's massive, though.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
My God, it's big.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
My Aunt Jean had a Wildcat and it was a
bad-to-the-bone car.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
I hope it was green, forest green like this one is,
with great big white wall tiresand big wheel covers, plain Jane
looking, and luxury andfloatability, $9,000.
$9,000.
You looked, no, I didn't.
$9,300.
No, I did not look, I guess Ishould have paid attention when

(16:09):
he said you looked.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
You can't fit that in the garage.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
No, here we go, we're going to move along now.
1955 Chevrolet 210 stationwagon, four-door.
It's not a Nomad, all right.
It's not a two-door, it's afour-door.
It looks all stock Blue, mediumblue with a white top.
I don't know what theattraction to that is.
It seems like all these carsare that way.
What do you think?
Mars 16.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
14, 963.
I was going to say 14, 963.

Speaker 1 (16:39):

Oh yeah, A Conestoga.
That would be something thatwould be in your garage, Mars it
would fit anyway.
Raw high A 54.
And it's got rust on showingthrough it and it's what I'd
like to call butternut yellowand it's ugly.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Four grand.
It's a Conestoga though man.
Yeah, exactly, probably eight12.6.

Right, right, and the flip up,Yep, yep, and it's a convertible
.
The bulbous finish and it's red, it's got wide whites on it and
I mean this is top ofthe-the-line movie star kind of

(17:27):
stuff.
It's not a fiberglass repo37-quart 812.
How much?
$200,000.
Mars, no, I would say about 160.
147.

Speaker 2 (17:38):

She's a little longer than two, she's 11 years old, but but
these things happen.
You know you've got to go tothe doctor, get your blood
pressure checked and all thatstuff.
But I suggest to everyone toknow their vehicle.
If you've got a hint thatsomething's going wrong, get it
checked out.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Did you have a?

Speaker 2 (20:57):
hint, no, no.
And the point is that when youdo have a failure kind of know
what you're looking at you popthe hood and you go, hmm, what
could it be?
So get to know your vehicle, check your owner's manual of
stuff that you don't know.
Maybe get a lesson, havesomebody teach you about your
vehicle.
But that's always good to know.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Yes, it is Matter of fact, I emailed Carolina over at
Professional Auto Care sayingCarolina, I want to have the
fuel filter changed in the23-year-old Corvette that I have
out there, because it's neverbeen changed.
I want to do that this year andof course I'll have my usual
oil change and filter change Yep, going with Wix and all the

(21:34):
filters.
And so I've got that coming upand I asked her.
I said if you see anything thatI'm missing, let me know so I
can budget it.
The fuel filter is, like youknow, $35, $40.
And the oil is not cheapbecause it takes mobile one.
It takes five and a half quarts.
Yeah, now who?
Uh, hey, jeff, let me have ahalf a quart of oil, the hell

(21:59):
you got any pints?

Speaker 2 (22:00):
no, yeah, we do, but they're at the bar, uh.
But the point is get your carchecked out and and that's good,
because she's got your records, because you always take it to
her, so she knows that you'redue for this, due for that.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
That and the state inspection of course, and I
still have to get that donebecause it's not the new year.
One more year?
Well, yes, but you still haveto have in this county, you
still have to have the tailpipesniff.
Yeah, make sure that you'recompliant with your emissions.
Okay, time out for this hour'scar review.
I had a chance to drive theall-new 2025 Chevy Trax.

(22:33):
This is the cheapest Chevroletyou can buy.
Okay, it's available in thesetrim levels LS, lt, 1RS, active
and 2RS.
I had the 2RS top of the line.
This is what is considered asmall station wagon.
Would you believe that I likeit?
They call it a station wagon.

(22:54):
Yeah, it looks like an SUV tome.
Seats five, all new last year, sharpest looking, extra small
SUV on the market in my mind.
Attractive front fascia with abig grille and squinty
headlights.
Mind, attractive front fasciawith a big grill and squinty
headlights.
Uh, mild side body sculptingwith a black lower valance and

(23:14):
wheel openings.
The rear gets attractive,distinctive lighting.
Overall exterior design gets ana don plus.
What could use improvement?
Nothing, don't touch it, it'sperfect.
Interior.
By the way, the interior itonly comes in black and
therefore they have made it thisway so they can keep the cost

(23:39):
of the car down.
Thank you, chevrolet, yeah,good idea.
Thank you, gm.
That's a good idea.
Keep the cost low.
People need something that'saffordable.
It has the this one did.
Optional 11-inch touchscreenwith Apple and Android
integration.
Seating is comfortable anddurable, easy to find and use.

(24:00):
Buttons and controls foreverything.
Adaptive cruise control andblind spot monitoring are
standard on this particular trimlevel.
One of the roomiest, extrasmall SUVs on the market.
What I liked about it?
Everything, what could useimprovement, nothing Doing
stupid stuff costs dollars, andthat's a big part of the

(24:20):
attraction.
There's nothing stupid that Ican find on this, and I think
that Chevy and general motorsdid a great job on this.
Uh, one point 1.2 liter turbo, itty bitty, tiny, teeny weeny
turbocharger and the tiny littleengine 137 horsepower with 162

(24:42):
whopping pound-feet of torqueyou have a little smirk on your
face.
Six-speed automatictransmission, one of the.
It gets 28 miles per gallon inthe city, 32 on the highway, for
a combined of 30.
I got 30.5 miles per gallonover 302 miles.
What I liked about it justenough horsepower to keep you

(25:03):
out of trouble, but it could usea little more.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
What do you say?
Put a turbo on it?
Well, they make a 1.2 and 1.3liter with turbos on each
variable.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yeah, but again you go to the turbo.
Then you've got to do someengine mods to handle the turbo
and all that.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Don't jack with it, it's okay.
No, leave it alone.
Ride and handling all-wheeldrive is not available on this
car.
What I liked about it the rideand handling.
Smooth and comfortable.
What could use improvement?
Nothing.
This car, in my opinion, is awinner on all counts.
A great first car for everyone, including the teenager that's

(25:39):
either going to go to highschool for the next two years
and then go on to college, orcollege maybe present.
Whatever Base trim $24, 24 300price is tested.
Now this is the top of the line.
The rs okay, 27 085.
Base model price 20 400.
Very good competitors.

(26:00):
Mazda cx 30 24 995 $400.
Very good Competitors.
Mazda CX-30, $24,995.
The VW Taos, which is a muchbigger vehicle $23,995.
And the Chevy Trailblazer we'lljust keep it in the family
$23,100.
But the attractiveness to thisis the size of it.

(26:23):
To me it's very maneuverable.
Go grocery shopping, noproblems getting it in the
parking spot, getting it out.
Maneuverability is excellent onthis.
Like I said, it could use alittle bit more horsepower for
me, but for most people I thinkthat's okay.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
It'll work.
Two things on that.
We almost got Kylie one.
Kylie was looking at one ofthose when she was getting well,
the Autorama auto show.
And then I was at the Buickstore getting my car worked on
and they had the Buick versionof this in the showroom.
Now, looking at your interiorshots that you showed there very
, very similar to the Buick, theone that you're driving now,
kind of laid out in the samepattern with the same materials.

(27:00):
Well, like I said, with theblack interior.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
it keeps the price low.
You've got one interior, that'sit.
That's the one.
If you don't like it, then goshop somewhere else.
But the point is keeping thecost low, right, and especially
in today's market.
I mean my God, the averageprice of a car is 50 grand.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Who can afford that?
I was looking at that sizevehicle while they were working
on my car.
I had some time to kill, so Iwas in the showroom.
F kill, so I was in theshowroom.
Fiddle around?
Yeah, fiddle around.
There's some nice stuff outthere.
It just depends on what youwant.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Yeah, what do you think, mars?
You're over there in deepthought in some other world.
Yeah, well, then never mind.
Yeah, you're welcome.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
I see that Sue Mead is standing by, well yeah, we
were having some, we weregetting set, getting set, yep,
okay just checking.
