Speaker 4 (00:37):
Coach, thanks so much, great to be with you and Kurt,
and let's get right to the scores, beginning in Class
six A, where you have three of the four games
already complete and and including we were just talking about
the Mona and Bell which takes place tomorrow. Wabash's head
coach Jay Gilbert his former stoff he was the head
man of the Rocks at Westfield and his former club

(00:58):
advancing the semi Westfield doubles up Fishers twenty to ten
the final there the defending six to eight champ Brownsburg
is gonna have a chance to punch a ticket back
to downtown Indianapolis forty seven to twenty three. The Dogs
topple Decatur Central Warren Central by just a field goal
over Center Grove twenty four to twenty one. Half of

(01:22):
Class five A is punched in and complete, including New Palestine,
who has had just a heck of a tournament run,
including that big win over Cathedral in the sectional twenty
to six. They take care of East Central tonight, Bloomington
South demolishes Floyd Central fifty five to seven. Those fifty
five points the most by a single team into the

(01:45):
studio so far. Tonight. Class four A also has two
games to report, is complete, a good one up North
South Bend Saint Joseph by just a field goal over
Obert ten to seven. Low scoring affair, but Saint Joe
advancing the semi state. Also Ron Colley taking care of
business that's against Yorktown thirty one to twenty seven. The

(02:06):
final is Ron Collie rolls from Class three A tonight, just.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
One game to report.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Fort Wayne Bishop Lores by a touchdown against Twin Lakes
fourteen to seven was the final score in that one.
In Class two A, as we have told you through
the early part of this night, all three undefeated teams
that are in Class two A have remained unbeaten tonight.
That's because Adam Central remains perfect with their forty two

(02:31):
to twenty eight victory against Eastbrook Lapel also sniffing perfection
thirty eight to seven, Lapel beating Lutheran. And then it's
Browns Town Central still with that goosegg in the l
column on their record forty three to eighteen taking down
Linton Stockton. The only class that we can say has
everybody reported and matchup set for next week. Class A

(02:55):
Pioneer over Laville thirty four to fourteen. The final Southend
Adams by a field goal over North Miami twenty five
twenty two. It was South Putnham taking care of sherid
In twenty six to six. And Mylin you can call
it upset. That's because they take down to the defending champ.
Providence goes down to Mylin. Mylon wins it twenty two

(03:17):
to seven. That's your look so far at regional scores.
You can follow us at id sports Talk to report
your own scores. You saw so far. Tonight, all right,
let's talk about college football coming up tomorrow, a bunch
of noon kickoffs involving teams from around the state of Indiana,
including an all top twenty five matchup from Pittsburgh, Number

(03:39):
nine Notre Dame. It's seven to two, trying to continue
their rise up the college football playoff rankings. They'll go
against an old rival and number twenty two pitt That's
a noon kickoff on ABC. Meanwhile, at noon Big Ten
Network from Bloomington, Number two Indiana tries to defend their
perfect record. They will get with scon and I use

(04:01):
final regular season home game so far, the Hoosiers seven
to oh in the Big Ten. For the Ball State Cardinals,
they'll get going at noon Ball State and Eastern Michigan
tomorrow from Muncie. Ball State, trying to get back to
a point where they can be in CONTENTI of being
Bowl eligible. Their total record at four and five seven

(04:23):
o'clock tomorrow perdue at Washington out West as the Boilers
continue to look for their first Big Ten victory this season.
As we have talked about through the last number of segments,
Monon Bell one hundred and thirty first all time meeting
between Wabash and DePaul comes your way tomorrow afternoon. College

(04:43):
basketball quickly from Durham Duke blows out Indiana State final
of one hundred to sixty two. I'm Brendan Kick.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Welcome back everyone.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
This is Indiana Sports Stock, brought to you by Indiana
Donor Network.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
College Football.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
As Brendan pointed out, busy day tomorrow. And Brendan, can
I ask you about you were alma mater Butler? You
sure heading to Sandy, heading to San Diego. That is
a long trip. And I understand, you know, conferences being
what they are finding people similar institutional objectives and things.

(05:27):
But that's a long trip. And thank goodness, they only
have to make that one time.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Long trip to match up with a great team, you know,
San Diego, the Terrero's, I mean, they have been a
long standing terrific member of that Pioneer league, I mean, coach,
even back to my freshman year of college. You know,
I remember my freshman year I was broadcasting Butler San
Diego over at the Bowl here in Indianapolis and we
are commenting on the same thing. Then you know, what
a trip for San Diego to make and vice versa

(05:52):
for Butler heading out there five and five. I mean, coach,
this is a massive game for Kevin Lynch and company,
and of course you got to do it with all
those miles on you. So hey, I mean that path,
that road. FCS football at times unforgiving. All of football
is unforgiving at times. I mean, think about Purdue heading
out to Washington kind of the same type of deal.
But yeah, I mean, at least Purdue's in the Big Ten, right,

(06:13):
and you know, this is FCS football, and you know
the the accommodations probably are not the exact same for
the Dogs as opposed to the Boilers the out West, Right, That's.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
That's more than likely true. I mean, it's it's interesting
in a sense that you know, you you're a coach Lynch.
I think it's done a magnificent job. But I'm partial
to the Lynch family.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
I love him.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
I've known Billy since he was tried to recruit him
when he was coming out of high school.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
So it's, you know, we go back a.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Long long way, and Kevin has done a great job
in his first year. Mikey Riimovich when he left and
went to Ball State, I think Mike's done a credible
job up at Munsey and so there's there's the Butler influence.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
So another rivalry game is the victory Bell.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Game between Franklin College and Hanover College. Doesn't have the
history if you will.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
That the Monon Bell game. Ass I remember being on.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Campus as an undergrad and as a coach, as an
assistant and as a.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
At basketball coach.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
While when we played those games, and I also was
part of it, you can appreciate this.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
The rivalry between the two schools.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Reached a point where I was I in the legendary
red fought our football coach. We were summoned to the
president's office and told in no uncertain terms by the
president that we were no longer to schedule Hannover College
in any athletic events. And I think I made the
mistake of saying why and then was summarily dismissed as.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
We don't need your input. So we didn't.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
We didn't play for a while in any sport. And
we had the interesting thing about it is my first
year there, we had to play Handover for the NAI
District championship and I had told I had told them,
I said, look, what what about when we meet them
in the playoffs and they said, well then that you know,
that's a different story. But we're not you know, we're

(08:22):
not willingly scheduling. And I said, okay, so we play
them in the finals set in nineteen seventy eight finals
and beat them, and yeah, that's uh, that's when a
rivalry gets a tiny bit out of hand. Those things
don't happen with the Rose and to Paul matchups. But
it's a fun day. It's a it's a fun fun day.

(08:43):
Places will we packed the Franklin Hanover matchups down down
on the River tomorrow and to Paul's at Wallbash.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Just to remind you.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Also small college football, listen, these are important games and
people trying to make it into postseason play. UH Mount
Saint Joseph at Roseholman Indiana Westland Nationally Ranks playing Siena Heights,
Marrying at Saint Xavier up in Chicago, Justin's at Saint Francis,
Taylor at Madonna, Kalamazoo at Trine Upper I was at
the University of Indianapolis Anderson of Manchester Youngstown. UH Youngstown

(09:19):
State is hosting Indiana State. As we mentioned, Butler at
San Diego Eastern Michigan of ball state. Everybody knows the
note Notre Dame in pitt game Wisconsin. I you pretty
Washington tomorrow night. But uh, yeah, the Victory Bell game.
And one of my one of my price possessions is
a picture of my wife, my beautiful wife.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Penny and sitting in a sitting next to the victory bell.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
It's one of those one of those poses where you know,
you get a lovely co ed and have her sit
next to the bell, surrounded by a couple of football players.
And yeah, that was on the front page of the
Franklin Daily Journal back in the day. So that's that
as a prominent place in the house. So we're all
in on the Victory Bell game. How's that for a story?

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Prominent as in, she autographed a copy and it's sitting
in the bobroom next year, you know.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
This is the bobroom. I would have to tell you
that that picture is.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Not uh is not in the bobroom. Uh, it's someplace
else and they're only Bob pictures, only Bob pictures.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
In the bobroom. Hey, that's kind of shuld be.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Listen, that's one of the criteria. So that's it, all right,
coming up Brendan King. Can't get enough of him, can't
get away from him. He's coming up with a schoolboard
updates to the top of the hour. This is Indiana
Sports Suck.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
This Indiana Sports Talk scoreboard update is brought to you
by Quality Supply and Tool in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Jefferson, Villa Lafayette,
outside the box store, Quality Supply and Tool dot Com.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
What's going on? I'm Brendan King with this network Indiana
scoreboard update here on Indiana Sports Talk. At the end
of the top of the hour, update mentioned that game
between number four Duke and Indiana State from Durham, Indiana State.
As you look advanced in that game, of course, it
was a final. Number four Duke blew out the Sycamores
one sixty two, but early on in that one, at

(11:26):
the under four time out Indiana State at a ten
point lead, they came out guns a blazing shooting the basketball,
including some hot shooting from Camp Wagner and Ian Scott,
the Grace College transfer, Scott finishing with thirteen points, Wagner
at eleven, Sterling Young, the transfer into Indiana State, had fourteen,
but Duke quickly ran away with that one including thirty

(11:47):
five points from the freshman Cameron Boozer, the sun of
former NBA great Carlos Boozer. So Indiana State, the record
sits at two and two. They'll match up with Louisiana
Tech on Wednesday night. Okay, back to high school football
scores again. Some of the biggest storylines so far tonight,
including Class A the defending champion going down. That's providence,

(12:09):
myln found a way to beat him twenty two to seven.
South Putnam and Class A ball remains undefeated with their
twenty six to six victory over Sheridan. Remaining in Class A,
South Adams scooted past North Miami by a field goal
twenty five twenty two. It was Pioneer by twenty thirty
four to fourteen. Pioneer trying to get back to the
state championship where they were back in twenty eighteen. Well,

(12:32):
the guy we know is Jack Kaiser, the former Notre
Dame fighting irishman six years with the Irish, now in
the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Scores still we're waiting
on include Cascade in Lawrenceburg, Indea and Creek Gibson, Southern
and Southmont and Andre, and we will let you know
those as soon as we get them.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Welcome back, everyone.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
I'm pob love with this sports stock.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
We've got a lot to talk about.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
If you're down in Bloomington right now, or if you're
a who's your fan, you're supporting two of the.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Best programs in the country.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
I think, you know what, You've got a big football
game with Wisconsin on Saturday, basketball team playing I think
on Sunday. A man who knows more about it than
the rest of us collectively. I think one of the most,
if not the most talented at what he does in
our business. From Peaks dot Com Jeff rev John's Jeff,

(13:30):
how are you tonight?

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Coach? That's very kind of fantastic? Thank you?

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Well you speaking of fantastic, how cool is it to
be able to cover the Hoosiers in football and basketball?

Speaker 2 (13:41):
That's a pretty good gig you got.

Speaker 6 (13:43):
Bal Yeah, yeah, I mean the fact that I get
to cover sports for a living, I consider myself ridiculously fortunate. Right,
But there are times like this that just take it
to just a completely different level. You know, football beam
number two incredibly well, basketball breath of fresh air. People
are seeing shot making ball movement, player movement, screaming, all

(14:06):
kinds of things.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
So it's it's a lot of fun.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
You know.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
Sometimes my family's like, so you got a.

Speaker 6 (14:11):
Game on Saturday and on Sunday, I'm like, yeah.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Having fun.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Yeah, yeah, Well, you know what it is, and we
all all know and realize the importance and maybe we've
understated it, but the importance of being successful on the
football field and basketball court is incredible to the entire state.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
Yeah, it certainly is. I think we've seen with football
that the Indiana fan base is there. It was just
kind of wanting to see football win and have something
they could truly get behind. And kirksey Edi comes in
eleven and one year one goes to the college football Playoff.
You know, the only two I'm sorry, eleven to two overall.
You know, the only two teams they lost to were

(14:55):
the two teams that played for the national championship.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
So people were impressed right off that.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
And then this year has been different because I think
last year it took four or five games for people
to really sort of realize or buy in, just be convinced.
You know, they needed some convincing, which I think is understandable.
But this year, there was anticipation from the spring. I mean,
I think we had more people asking questions about spring
football than maybe all the.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Other years I've covered, and it was incredible.

Speaker 6 (15:25):
And then they start off playing incredibly well, you know,
and then go.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
Out to Oregon. You know, you beat Dan Lanning's.

Speaker 6 (15:31):
Team by double figures in Oregon. That's that's you know,
on paper, if you look at the metrics best winning
college football because of where it happened and how good
they are. They had the nation's longest winning streak. And
then you look at what they're doing now. They're they're
number one in the country and scoring offense at forty
four point five points per game, the number two in
the country at scoring defense twelve point one points per game.

(15:54):
They can throw it with Fernando Mendoza, Omar Cooper, elijahs
Are at Charlie Packer Williams. They can run it with
Kaylon Black and the other town the running backs. Their
defense is outstanding behind Aidan Fisher, d'anelo Ponds, Isaiah Jones
and all those guys. So it's a really and I

(16:15):
think what people see is not just the winning, but
they like the way they the way Indiana plays and
they're Kirk Signetti and I get the feeling people see
this as not a flash in the pan, a one off.
It's actly a stainable system. And I think that's That's
another piece of the puzzle. You know, Why is who's
your nation so excited so into this? Why are we
seeing sellouts, national attention, ESPN, Game Day, Fox, Big New Kickoff.

(16:40):
I think part of it is people look at Kurt
Signet in his system and say this is legit.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
I don't disagree with anything.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
I think they get behind it because he's done it
in a short amount of time. He's done literally the
impossible is to go out in this day and age.
You and I have talked about this before. It's hard
to win. I don't care what sport, what level. It's
hard to win. And the biggest key I think for
them is his system, his way of doing things. There's

(17:11):
no ambiguity I think for the players. And the other
part of it is is you would know this better
than I. The lifeblood of any college programs you have
to recruit people. They've recruited great quarterbacks. I mean their
two quarterbacks have been superb. They're skilled guys. Their wide
receivers are incredible, and you put those two together. You

(17:32):
got the trigger man, you got the guys who can
catch it. You've got a defense that's playing well. You
got a guy who may not be the most personable
guy to you and me and everyone else, but as
kids love him, they play for him, and they're able
to recruit top talent around the country and know who
they're looking for and what they're looking for and put
it all together.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
That'll win you.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
Games, absolutely and absolutely will.

Speaker 6 (17:56):
And I think their system and their structure, the fact
that it's been place. You know, he didn't just show
up in Indiana, right right, So he's got a legitimate
body of work to selling. Recruiting, whether it be high
school kids or portal players. I mean, obviously transfer portal
is big part of it now, especially football because you
can get some older guys. So that's the piece of it.

(18:18):
But you know, you want to know something that's interesting
that tells you what is going on with high football
outside of the winning, Outside of everybody sees great plays
Omar Cooper's legendary catch. They are expected to have more
than one hundred recruiting prospects on campus tomorrow. Usually a
football weekend twenty twenty five is very good, right, you

(18:43):
know you really that's a big weekend occasion. I have
heard of fifty this place, and.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
I've never heard of one hundred. Coach, never even heard
of it. Maybe somebody I haven't heard of it.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
But that's and you're talking about kids in the current
high senior class.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
You're talking about juniors, and you're.

Speaker 6 (18:59):
Talking about there are some sophomores coming from out of state,
even like down South Tennessee, Georgia, et cetera, coming up
because they're intrigued by what's going on in Indiana.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
EJ.

Speaker 6 (19:11):
Williams is from down South. He's been telling people back
on book Man, this place is legit. You all got
to come up here and see it. It's that That,
to me is another one of those examples that you
can show people like how significant is what Indiana is doing?

Speaker 5 (19:25):
This is how significant it is.

Speaker 6 (19:27):
You've got youngsters coming from the South to come up
to CiU. You've got one hundred plus expected recruiting prospects
on one Saturday. Incredible stuff.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Coach jeffrab Johns with us from Peaks dot Com.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Who's your football? What times the game with Wisconsin tomorrow?

Speaker 6 (19:45):
Kickoff set for noon, so I guess, I guess noon
twelve o'coves.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Okay, all right, let's turn our attention to the basketball team.
They've got a game on Sunday. You mentioned it, and
I think people recognize brand new coach, brand new system expectations.
I think going through the roof with how they've started off,
it has been an impressive debut for coach Debrees and everyone else.

Speaker 5 (20:11):
It really has.

Speaker 6 (20:12):
In The winning is certainly a piece of it, but
I think it's more how they're playing, and.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
That's what we've seen.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
You know, all the comments on the pigs board, you know,
people have basically said things like, I'm glad they're winning,
but I'm even happier to watch a team play like this.
It's about ball movement, it's about shooting. They've made ten
or more three pointers their first three games under Darren DeVries.
Indiana had made ten or more three pointers in.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
Any three games in a row.

Speaker 6 (20:42):
Since Tom Creane December twenty sixteen. That's almost a decade, coach,
that's a long time.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
We're seeing so much better.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
Their top five among high major programs in effective field
goal percentage, Their top five high major teams in three
point percentage. But you certainly you see Lamar Wilkerson and
Tucker DeVries out there doing a lot of really good stuff.
But you know, re Bailey's six', ten but he can
run the, floor make, threes make. PASSES i think in
the first half of the third game he's six' ten

(21:15):
listed at. The center he's really a, point forward but
he's got four sys. No turnovers that's just pretty good
for a six to. Ten Guy taking connorway's doing outstanding
at the point. Guard position, You Know trent Sisley From
heritage hills is coming out playing. Incredibly well his three
point shooting really took a big jump when he played
his senior Year At. Man bird, you know he's averaging

(21:36):
a made three, per game which is very very good for.
A freshman and you know that you walk into high
major college and you can make shots right out.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Of that.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
That's impressive and in their, second game, you know They
played marquette Coach By, shaka smart who, brings pressure, you
know his, havoc system and Not only indiana not, turning
over they hang one hundred, on them and it's the
first time anybody has hung a hundred points on shot
as smart In the division one game and the regulation
in his. Entire career that's How well indiana's playing?

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Right now, All, RIGHT jeff i needs you to hang
on through this school. Board update can you? Do?

Speaker 5 (22:11):

Speaker 6 (25:42):
Good point and it was. Really interesting, YOU know i
went Down To puerto rico to watch their three exhibition games,
down there and you, know what summer basketball is like
it's bonding time for. The players, they're kayaking they're enjoying
being in the, tropical location and, you know you're not
doing normal scouting of an upon into game prep and everything.
Like THAT so, i, figured okay we'll just see kind

(26:04):
of where, they're at just kind of get an early.
Summer gauge and the passing and ball movement was. Already there,
and yeah they got down twenty a couple of times
to a, pro team, You know Mega super Bet from
serbia came back, to me it wasn't that they came back.
And on it was that they kept running their stuff
and nobody got. In selfished, nobody, said okay we're not,

(26:25):
you know we're, getting Down so i'm just going to go.
Get mine they just kept playing and they kept moving,
the ball they kept running. Their stuff and again It,
was august so that, you know there's a little bit,
in it but not, a, ton right but they just
kept running, their stuff and, to me that was really
impressive that there's buy in. Right away, you know you
look at the fact they've had three games in a
row to start the season with twenty or more, as CYSTS.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
And i think that's.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
Really impressive they've had SITUATIONS where i think it's been
twenty three assists on thirty four made baskets tremendous, is
history and you talk to, the players, you know talking.
To him during, the summer we got a chance to
watch some practices and see what's being taught and how it's,
being taught and it's just stuff that makes a lot.
Of sense but the BIGGEST thing I was i was
impressed by. THE teaching i was impressed by, the SCHEME

(27:11):
but i was probably most impressed that you've got all
new players who don't know, each other who, come well
a couple of guys the group doesn't know. Each other they're,
brand new and so it's not like you could point
to a couple of seniors or even juniors, and, say
okay you guys have been here, three years, lead them
and all these guys are Buying into yet this, makes
sense this.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
Is what we.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
Should do so we're going to play the way coach
wants us. To play and it's just it's a nice brand.
Of basketball it's a REALLY and I think i think
those kids get a lot. Of credit sometimes people complain
about all the transferportal this.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
And THAT and i understand. ALL that i.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
Get it i'm NOT just i need, to Complaints but
i'm Looking, at okay how are these new, Guys playing
how are they behaving? In practice they're really about, Each
other they're really about moving, The ball they're really about trying,
to WIN and i think that's.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
Pretty impressive you got, Me.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
EXCITED jeff i appreciate you, Doing, this aye you taking
on incarnate word tomorrow Down. In bloomington who's yours playing

Speaker 1 (28:34):
Talk About pioneer beastslaville thirty four to fourteen FROM ov.
H One kenny kramer had. This, game kenny thanks so
much for the call and impressive Win for. Pioneer, TONIGHT
yeah i was.

Speaker 8 (28:46):
Really impressive, You know pioneer that came in with two
thousand yard Rushers and Noah, van meter who was the,
leading rusher just ran all Over the lancers. Tonight unfortunately
and you know His counterpart philip mcsatriche too also ran
all Over. The lancers both of them combined for well
over two hundred Yards and pioneer as a team ran
for two hundred and seventy nine in the first half

(29:08):
and four to twenty in. The game.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
That's a lot. Of, yards yeah and it's also there's
a lot.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Of yards and it's also a lot of time of
possession and keeping the ball out of the Hands.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Of, leville yeah it's a lot.

Speaker 8 (29:23):
Of time, you know they ate up and that's what that's,
their offense, you know the wing t it's a. Hard
offense Rop. AND laville i mean they gave them all.
They had it was a hard earned thirty, four points
but You know lavilla just came up a.

Speaker 9 (29:35):
Little.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Short well you know what great, year though you get to.
This point you had to do a lot of things
to get to. This point may have, exceeded expectations but
there to be congratulated for the season.

Speaker 8 (29:49):
They, had yeah it was a really. Great season, you
know they finishing starting off with a two and. Four record,
you know it was a really it Was a gutsche
helmet for them. Back then and, you know the which, was,
like hey this is up, to, you guys what do
you want this team. To be, you know we have
an opportunity to do, something special but you guys have
to put in, the work put in. The effort and
they came around that next game and they won against

(30:11):
their one of, their rivals and then they rattled off
six straight wins after that won a sectional title for
the second time in. Three, YEARS so, i, mean right
and time was good here at Here, in lakeville but
unfortunately they ran into the buzz saw That is pioneer
won their ninth regional championship And Coach adam berry now

(30:32):
won is a hundredth game and we overheard him during
the post game he, was, like yeah that's, pretty COOL
but i really don't care.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
That, much.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Well, you know it's about moving on and trying to
win a. State championship and that's Well Said kenny kramers
from OH v h. One tonight he Has the pioneer
thirty four to fourteen Win Over, Laville canny thanks so
much for. The call have a fan testing night.

Speaker 5 (31:01):
You Too Sir.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Kirk darling FROM The Isc sports network.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
Joins me kurt has the Call Of ron colly's thirty
one to twenty seven Win. Over, yorktown kirk thank you for.
The call an impressive Win For ron colly tonight.

Speaker 10 (31:21):
Certainly was it was one of those one of those
games where people really didn't know what to expect from
either of these two ball Clubs Because ron collie getting
the Win over shazard a, week ago having lots of
them during the, regular Season Beating pendleton heights a week
ago after losing to them during the, regular season so

(31:45):
it was really going to be a battle in the
trenches between these two, ball Clubs And ron colly certainly
showed how they were able to run the football from the.
Very beginning they were able to engineer a very swift
twelve play drive to get at seventy nine yards to
get the. Opening touchdown But Then your town they needed
a big play and they got One From. Caden krums

(32:06):
it was an eighty yard pop Pass From sam Togar
to krums to take it to, the house so that
would make it seven.

Speaker 9 (32:12):
To seven early on in the, first Quarter put Low
and Beholder.

Speaker 10 (32:16):
Ron klly they did what they, do best and that
was just move the football methodically all the way down the.
Football field a couple of really big Plays From alex
jarvis to make it fourteen to to seven going into the,
second quarter But Still your town was able to get
a long drive of. Their own in the middle of the.
Second Quarter sam togar did exactly what he, does best

(32:37):
and that was throwing the football and just getting into
positions where he can move the. Ball downfield he had
one particular cat to Play To cole purdue to set
up a really big play and of course that would take.

Speaker 9 (32:48):
It into the end zone for.

Speaker 10 (32:49):
Another touchdown it was fourteen fourteen, midway through but Again
ron khali was able to move the ball down the
field again and they did not punk the ball at
all To night, here coach so they were able to
score on pretty much every possession outside of a couple
of turn there turnovers, on downs but, either way it
was twenty four to fourteen at the end of the
Half and yorktown was kind of in a pickle going

(33:12):
into that. Second half but they started the second half with.
The football they end up moving all the way down
the field and it was an excellent pass and Catch
To cole purdue into the end zone for a touchdown to.

Speaker 6 (33:23):
Make it.

Speaker 10 (33:25):
But Still ron KLi kept moving the football and moving,
it well and they kept moving time off of. The
clock and when all was said, and, done coach it
was a ten point. Ball Game ron kali didn't score
in the. Fourth quarter yorktown was able to get a
late one off of a very big drive off some
Penalties from york set From, ron klli but it wouldn't,

(33:45):
be Enough and yorktown ends the season after having a
very very good one to say. The least But ron
klli survives and if they're going to move on To
the semi state, Next Week.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Ron colly thirty one Winners. Over, Yorktown Tonight, kurt darling
it's always great to talk. To you you got a day,
off tomorrow night. Off tomorrow you? Have soccer what do, We?

Speaker 10 (34:10):
Have gooch The Ball state cardinals are at Home Against.
Eastern michigan i'll be on the sideline For The ball.
State Game Bridge radio network and so mac mac implications
in this one. Here coach so if they, win out
if they get to the conference, championship game three games
left in the season.

Speaker 9 (34:26):
For, the cardinals so it's going to be a good.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
Matchup tomorrow call me. Tomorrow night i'll look forward to.

penn final of forty one. To thirty now We hit
class five A where Merriville Defeated. Michigan city that's by
a twenty piece thirty four. To fourteen the one you
need to know about, Right now Concord. And Lafayette Jeff

(35:47):
it's concord in, a thriller winning it on a walk
off field goal forty seven forty five. The final How
about Concords Kicker nathan potter nailing a walk off wait,
for it forty eight yard field goal to win the
game And send concord to the semi state round forty.

(36:09):
EIGHT yards nfl kickers miss forty eight. Yardfield goals this

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Of Fantastic brian sullivan FROM w nas joins me he
Has the milon Win over providence twenty two, To seven
Providence Defending. Champs brian it's, a big big win for.

Speaker 9 (37:20):
Mylon tonight i'm gonna be sure to quote you to
my wife calling. Me fantastic she won't.

You're welcome to by, THE way i. Appreciate, it.

Speaker 9 (37:45):
Yeah we got a rematch tonight of. The regional these
two teams played a, year ago but different result there
Unfortunately for providence.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
This evening.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
You know What it's these are the kinds of games
you're never surprised, about Scores because i'm Sure that milon
has had an entire year hopeful that they could have
a rematch with these guys in the. Same situation they
were a, year ago and these are two really really
good teams and they.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Need it, you, Know this this is how sometimes this. Works,
out yeah and you got To give milon all the.

Speaker 9 (38:27):
Credit there they're on the road traveling. Down here it's
a long Trip, to clarksville and they they came out
right from.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
The start really how.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
You like seeing old.

Speaker 9 (38:37):
School football they just dominated on the line both ways
and set that tone right from the start.

Speaker 5 (38:43):
There tonight They.

Speaker 9 (38:45):
Held providences to forty five, yards Rushing which i'm pretty
positive a season low by a long. Shot there and
on the other side they ran for two hundred and ninety,
four yards, so wow as soon as they got, that,
lead boy they only threw Three pass this is the.
Entire game they were grinding and out, just, five six
seven yards at a time and then mixed in some

(39:07):
some good yard long. Runs there so they they really
kind of imposed their will there and just Never let
providence get. That momentum and that's disappointing when you're the defending.
STATE champs i want that shot to go as long as.
You can but, you know give all the credit To the. Indians, TONIGHT.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
Yeah i would think if you dominate upfront on both
sides of. The football you deserve to win a.

Speaker 9 (39:32):
Football, game Well and i'm hearing from one of the
radio broadcasters in the next Room that Ryan, lang ferman
who's the, head coach there was an offensive lineman when,
he's player and so he's got two of his sons
at running back and he knows haven't played. Offensive lineman

(39:53):
what his guys have to do to right those? Kids
free and they were able to do it. All night
so you just got to take your hats off.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
To myland was? It was it?

Speaker 1 (40:05):
DECIDED early, i mean when are they able to get
this separation so?

Speaker 9 (40:09):
To speak they were up fourteen to seven at, the
HALF but i think they were so limiting In what
providence was able to do on. The ground providence has
a very talented. SOPHOMORE quarterback i think it put pressure
on him to have to try to come up with.
Some Plays and milon ended up getting three interceptions in the,
second half and one of those in the. End zones

(40:30):
so they were able to get downfield and take. Some
Shots But providence miland rather able to come up with
some interceptions deep in their own territory to be able to.

Speaker 5 (40:42):
Stave them, often.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Well, big win big Win. From mylon disappointing win obviously
for the, defending champs but you know you back it
up you get to the. Regional Round brian SULLIVAN. From
wnas thanks for, The. Call brian we'll talk some hoops

Speaker 2 (42:07):
From wkl i'm, Good Friend. David, daton david thanks so
much as.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
The call that's a big win tonight for a very
Very good.

Speaker 11 (42:17):
Orleans, team, yeah coach a good opening night For The.
Lady bulldogs this was their first game of, the Season
and salem came in with a one and, two records
so they had a little bit of a head start
as far as gameplay went. Coming In but salem a
young Team And wade tomlinson back for his second season
as the head Coach. At salem he'd been there previously

(42:38):
for thirteen seasons back in the early, two thousands and
so he's come back and he's got a, young team
starting four freshmen this year On This lady, lions team
and it got off to a good startup as a
back and. Forth. Game early we had four lead changes in.
This game all of those happened in the. First quarter
orleans went on a bit of a run there to
close out the, first quarter got up, by six and

(43:00):
then just kind of stretched the lead out in the,
second quarter pushed the lead up to thirty eight to
twenty three, by halftime and after that they were able
to get the lead as high as twenty eight in the,
fourth quarter and they go on to win with A
pretty we're going to, win handily i, should say Against
a salem team that's young but talented and For A
lady bulldog team that lost six seniors. Last season they

(43:22):
look pretty good tonight considering this was their first game of.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
The season so you have reason to, be, EXCITED right i.

Speaker 11 (43:32):
THINK so i Think the orleans community has some reason
to be optimistic about. This team and got a couple
of veterans on. This Team, cali allston who is the
leading scorer from a. Year ago she's a senior on
this team and she had twenty one points tonight to
Lead The. Lady bulldogs also had. Five rebounds her younger
sister is a freshman, This Year, kalia alston and she

(43:53):
got off to a little bit of a, slow start
but you know her being, a freshman that is not.
Totally unexpected she set up with seven points in se.
Rebounds Tonight And chelsea Ralph, for orleans who kind of
had her ups and downs as. A sophomore she ended
up with a good night sixteen points tonight For The.
Lady dogs they made eight out of fourteen from behind the,
arc tonight had sixteen, turnovers overall but they did have

(44:16):
nineteen steals in this, game tonight and so a pretty.
Good effort a lot of different players. Chipping in some
girls WHO were jv players who are stepping up to
be varsity players. This Year halle wolf had nine she's a,
junior guard and then Sophomore Guard hayley dilly scoring nine
points tonight, As well and so a pretty good night
overall For The. Lady dogs played really, good defense that's

(44:38):
what really got them going in this contest tonight and
why they were able to pull away and getting out
in the, open floor which is What Coach jared gilbert's
teams like. To do so a good night For The,
lady bulldogs good way to start, the season and a
busy week ahead with three games For The lady dogs.
Next week so playing an early sectional type schedule here
early in the season with a team that's got a couple,

(45:00):
of veterans but a lot of youth and a lot
of things that they're going to be learning here early in.
The Season.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
David EATON From Wklo girls, Basketball Tonight Orleans, beach salem
sixty two. Thirty, nine david thanks for. The call hopefully
