Speaker 1 (00:00):
Come back everyone. This is Indiana Sports Talk. Glad you
could join us. It's brought to you by Indiana Donor Network.
Great night of sectional football action around the state. We
continue to talk about games, but the important thing scores. Baby,
we need scores. Who better to do it than the
star of our show network, Indiana's Brendan King.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
All right, coach, thanks so much. Sectional semi final Friday.

Hounds move on Carmel fifty six to seven winners over
Harrison West Lafayette. Maybe no bigger rivalry set next week
than in Sectional four, with Hamilton Southeastern topping Homestown twenty
four to ten. It will be the Mudsock Game a

cater Central Decatur Central beating North Central out of Indianapolis
forty two twenty one. We moved to Sectional seven, where
it was Southport over Arsenal Tech twenty two seven and

topping Columbus North forty two to thirty five at a

gets Laporte a week from tonight in Sectional eleven, Concord
finds the win over Warsaw forty five twenty eight four.
Wind North then shutout Goshen forty one to nothing. In
Sectional twelve. Lafayette Jeff shutout winners twenty six zip beating McCutcheon.
They'll meet Cocomo next week, who took care of South
Bend Adams twenty two to fourteen from Sectional thirteen. And again,

(02:40):
this is a game that was highlighted and predicted when
New Palestine moved to Class five. A. New Palestine picks
up the win over playing Field forty two to seven,
and the game next week featuring New Palestine and Cathedral
is what everybody anticipated. Indianapolis Cathedral blows out Anderson and
shuts him out for good measure sixty eight nothing. Cathedral

(03:03):
New Palestine a week from tonight for a sectional championship.
Another rivalry to get two from Sectional fifteen. It'll be
an all Bloomington rivalry. Bloomington North the shutout win over
Tara Hate North forty nine to nothing. Their opponent Bloomington South.
Bloomington South a little bit closer in this one by
a touchdown over Tara Hote South forty one thirty four.

(03:24):
Bloomington North versus Bloomington South. Next week. In Sectional fourteen,
East Central earned the victory over Franklin twenty one to seven,
and it was Whiteland forty two Columbus East twenty one.
Rounding out the five A scores was Sectional sixteen. Evansville
North blows out in New Albany fifty five to seven,
and it was Floyd Central over Castle forty nine to fourteen.

(03:48):
Going to some class four A scores. Sectional seventeen Lowell
no issue with eas Chicago Central Lowell thirty five, ECC nothing.
Hobart also blew out Kankakeeva three to six. In Sectional eighteen,
the five seven four is gonna have a good one
next week with Mischawaka the cave Men advancing twenty one

(04:08):
seventeen over Plymouth. Also South Bend Saint Joseph by a touchdown,
low scoring. They take care of business though, fourteen to seven.
South Bend Saint Joe over north Ridge. You get Mischawaka
and Saint Joe next week. Lastly, in Sectional nineteen, East
Noble over Fort Wayne South thirty five twenty eight. It
was also Fort Wayne Twinger shutting out Columbia City twenty

(04:30):
one and Zhing East Noble and Dwanger for that Sectional
nineteen championship. A week from tonight, I'm Brendan King.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Back everyone on Bob Lovel. This is Indiana Sports. Brian
Sullivan from WNAS rejoins us. He has the call of
Providence's thirty five fourteen win over Springs Valley Valley playing
great football, Providence place for championship last year. Yeah, a
lot of dynamics going into this, so I'm a little
surprised at the spread tonight, Brian.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Yeah, and how it ended up was not the way
that it had gone for most of the first half.
Springs Valley marches down, they tie the ballgame inside of
three minutes to go, and really I had the feeling
that even though it was tied, that Springs Valley was
kind of dictating the way they wanted to play. And

(05:19):
then all of a sudden, Providence goes down, gets about
a thirty one yard strike, gets a touchdown, They kick
it off on the very next play, they get an
interception from Lincoln crew. The very next play after that,
they go for another thirty touchdown, and then as soon
as they kick off they get another interception, and all

(05:40):
of a sudden, it looks like Springs Valley had some
momentum and now they're behind by two touchdowns at the half,
and I think it just really puts them doubt in
their heads as to whether they could get back into
the game throwing the ball, and that kind of fed
into what Providence wanted to do in the second half.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Do they play next week?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I believe they've got North Davies and they beat them
into sectional finals last year. North Davies I think beat
to come see thirty six to six. So that'll be
a rematch to sectional championship from a year ago.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
We're gonna be talking some girls basketball soon, are we not.
We are getting real close outstanding the man himself from WNAS.
It's the man, Brian Selvan Providence tonight thirty five to fourteen,
winners over Springs Alley. Brian, thanks as always for the call.
Have a fantastic weekend.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Hey, we'll talk to you next Friday.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
I look forward to it. Thanks so much. Garan Catholic
tonight beats Crawfordsville forty five to seven with me Garan
Katholic's Tom Dilley coach, Congratulations on a great win. Moving
into the championship game next weekend with this win. Thanks
so much for the call.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Oh thanks for having me and always good to talk
to you.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Kids played hard tonight.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
You know what if you can't play hard for a
chance to play for a championship, I'm not sure what's
going on. So good for your kids. I mean, it's
a tough time of year. People hurt, banged up, it's
a long season. Got to love the focus your kids
had in the game tonight.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Yeah, sure, just like everybody else. We've got a couple
of guys dinged up and other guys next man up mentality,
and they've done a nice shot stepping into some roles
and you know, primarily our offensive line has had some
changes and they've really grown into their roles.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
And it's been improved a lot this year.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Tonight really played well.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
So tell me who played well? Coach, if you can
take a little time brag about these guys.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
No, I got you, Jack Lindon, our tailback had four
touchdowns I think about one hundred and seventy yards rushing.
There was really a workhorse. I know he had over
twenty carries and that really is, you know, a tribute
to our offensive line. And see if I can name
him going left to right. Ryan James, Oliver Kerr, Barrett Hahn,

(08:09):
Arturo Serrato, and Jacob Dumas all played really well. I
thought we did a pretty good job of displacing their
front and and and creating some room for Jack most
of the night, and that set up everything else. Our quarterback,
Quintin Clee, has been playing really well. He had a

(08:29):
couple of real nice keeps off of some zone reads
the jack that we're really key in the first half,
and he threw the ball well. I don't have numbers
in front of him, but our receiving course pretty solid
too that Isaiah Lewis, Aiden Warn, Trevor Macy, all of

(08:51):
those guys played well on the outside in Colby Clee.
Quinton's younger brother, sophomore, is a really good player too,
So offensively thought we really played well. Nolan Nolan Ratcliffe,
one of our corners, had a big interception at.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
A key time.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Defensive tackle Bryce Kissell had a fumble recovery deep in
their territory to really get us rolling. It was seventeen
to seven and a half. We had a twenty one
throw point third quarter that included taking the ball away
in goodfield position, so complimentary football and played well and
we're excited to be able to practice for another week.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Who do you play next week?

Speaker 5 (09:30):
We'll be at Cascade.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Okay, good match, a really good match.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Yeah, they've been we don't know a whole lot about them.
We've been focusing on what's in front of us, but
obviously the scores are undeniable. We know they're a great
team and it'll be a real big challenge playing at
their place. But we're excited and we're going to get
to work tomorrow morning.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Tom Dilley, the football coach at Garon Catholic. Big solid
win tonight for Garren Katholic. They move on. They beat
to Crawford Jill forty five to seven. Move on next week,
play again in this championship for the sectional coach. Thanks
have a great weekend, Good luck next week. Thanks Bob,

(10:18):
thank you. Coming up more high school football after this
schoolboard update with Brendan King on Indiana's Sports Talk.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
I'm Brendan Kang with this network Indiana scoreboard update here
on Indiana's Sports Talk. Now, high school football scores are
coming your way momentarily, but we need to touch on
how game six of the World Series just ended because
it was nothing but chaos. The Toronto Blue Jays, putting
men at second and third after a ground rule double
by Addison Barger, there was nobody out. The Blue Jays

(10:47):
had the tying run in scoring position and the winning
run coming up to the plate in a three to
one ball game. The Dodgers go to Tyler Glass, now
out of their bullpen, the guy that's supposed to start
for them tomorrow. Glass now throws three pitches, gets three outs,
first to pop out by Ernie Clement to first base,

(11:08):
and then a line out to left fielder Key k Hernandez,
who made the catch and threw to second base to
double up the runner at second to end the game.
It was a seven to four double play turned by
the Blue Jays or turned by the Dodgers to end
the game. There's going to be a game seven tomorrow

(11:29):
for everything in the World Series from Toronto. What a
wacky way to end game six where the Blue Jays
have nobody out, the tying run at second and then
three pitches by Tyler Glass now ends the game. Game
seven coming up from the six tomorrow. All right, high
school football scores, We'll go to Section twenty three Bedford

(11:51):
North Lawrence by twenty Tonight over Shelbyville forty one to
twenty one Martinsville, then thirty piece Charlestown fifty two twenty.
We'll go to Sectional twenty four quickly. Heritage chills over
Evansville Wright thirty one fourteen. It was Jasper taking care
of Evansville Harrison thirty five seven. I'm Brendan King.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Welcome back, everybody. I'm Bob Lovell. This is Indiana Sports Talks.
A reminder. Tonight's Player with a Heart brought to you
by Becks Hybrids at Beck's. They are and will remain
farmers at heart. High school football tonight Penn beats Portage
fifty five seven with me the man who had to
call in this game for the regional radio sports network.

(12:34):
Tanner Camp and Tanner Pen flexing their muscles tonight in
a big win over Portage.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
Yeah, coach, and you know what you always wonder how
teams are gonna play for especially in five or six
a when when they have the Bible. I'll tell you what.
Ben got that rest and they picked up right where
they left off, I mean, coach, right the first two
drive for Portage and Pen was already a fourteen zero
within the first two minutes because of two pick six
with Ethan Horne are getting the first one and then

(13:02):
holding her name to mister do it all for this
Pen team. So fourteen zero not even within the first
two to three minutes of the ball and the offense
hasn't even stepped out onto the field. But what they did,
wo League coach, I mean, te Ridan's team just continues
to show some great things offensively land in the Hall.
How about one hundred and thirty six passing yards on
just four of five passing in three passing touchdowns, including

(13:25):
to the Buddy Hurley who finishes with two catches and
fifty two passing yards and the Mason Bernaki. And both
those guys are sophomores and juniors, Bob, So this is
still a team that's got a lot of younger pieces,
and Coach Reardon's team should be really proud to know.
You always wonder how a team's gonna be. They made
the hour fifteen drive to Portage. But I'll tell you
what he is looking forward. He's trying to get his

(13:47):
first sectional championship as the head coach. And Bob right
next week you are gonna want to tune into this one.
As Pen, for the third straight year in postseason play,
will take on the Crown Point Bulldogs at Freed Field.
Two years ago, pennlaw thirty four to thirty three in
the Regional Championship and Corey Yeoman's last year. Last year,
the Bulldogs overwhelmed the Kingsman with Noah Erlik and Larry Ellison.

(14:10):
But this year, I tell you what, you're gonna want
to see a lot of great, great talent. Trevor Gibbs's
going to eye you next year for the Bulldogs. He
is a star linebacker for that Bulldogs team. Obviously a
lot of great people that I've told you about for
this Penn team, including Vinnie Freeman who's going to Cornell
with the Russell. But tell you what, nothing better than
the Sectional championship and you better get you better get
to free Field quick. Otherwise, good luck trying.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
To find an ope and see big solid win for
Penn tonight over Portage fifty five seven the Kings of
In advance Tanner Camp from the Regional Radio Sports Network. Tanner,
thank you very much to the call.

Speaker 6 (14:45):
Have a great weekend, coach, You do the same and
you know, always one of my favorite parts of Friday nights.
And as always, thanks for what you do for any
of a high school athletics.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
I appreciate it. I appreciate the kind words. David Deaton
from WKLO joins me he has the Scottsburg twenty seven
nothing win over North Harrison. David, thanks for the call.
It's an impressive effort on the part of Scottsburg tonight. Coach.

Speaker 7 (15:10):
I could say this. We've covered Scottsburg ever since they
became an official member of the Mid Southern Conference in
twenty seventeen. This is their second go around as a
football program, going back to the early seventies and early eighties.
They had a program for about eleven years and then
they folded up shop after the nineteen eighty three season.
They came back in twenty fourteen with a JV team

(15:31):
and finally became a full fledged member of the MSc
and IHSAA tournament eligible in twenty seventeen. And Kyle Mullens
has been the head coach the entire time of that program,
and this is the best right all around team I
think he has had since he's been at Scottsburg. Their
defense is stingy. Their offense made some big plays tonight.
It was a really close game in the first half.

(15:53):
North Harrison was able to stay within striking distance. Their
defense kept the minute really all the way up into
the third quarter, but the Cougar's had a lot of
guys playing both ways and Scottsburg started making big plays
on offense and kept the Cougar offense at bay all
night to get to the victory and get to a
sectional championship game next week.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
What impresses me is how consistent they've been this year.
I mean, they've it just seems like business as usual
and you look at what they're doing. They've played at
a high level the entire season.

Speaker 7 (16:26):
Yeah, that's a one hundred percent, right, And it's really
been the defense that's carried Scottsburg, especially early in the season.
They've they've been the consistent part of this team. The offense.
It took a little bit of time for them to
kind of get their footing as far as consistency over
four quarters, but they've certainly turned it on at the
right time and did a great job against Edgewood last week.
And the Cougars are known for being a power running team.

(16:49):
Scottsburgh knows that, of course, being in the same conference,
and it was a close game the first time around
between the two teams. It was only twenty one to fourteen,
but Scottsburg really did a good job making North Harrison's
offense have to earn every single yard they got on
the ground. Bryce Vessel, who came in over eighteen hundred
rushing yards on the season, limited to one hundred and

(17:10):
seven yards tonight, and the Cougars as a team had
one hundred and seventeen yards of total offense, so it
was tough spledding throughout the course of the night and
North Harrison. Scottsburg got on the board after their first
possession after a North Harrison turnover, Nathan Bird to Cameron
Reid for a twenty nine yard touchdown pass and the
extra point made it seven to nothing. It stayed like

(17:31):
that until halfway through the third, when Nathan Bird found
Garrett Bowling for a thirty one yard touchdown pass and
made it thirteen nothing after the missed pat and then
late in the third Scottsburg finished the run, the big
run that really put the distance between them and North
Harrison with Bird connecting with Lou Hamilton on a jet
sweep touch pass that Hamilton took eighteen yards navigating through

(17:54):
the Cougar defense, and they finished up with Land and
Shuck running in from ten yards out with two forty
three to go in the fourth quarter. Shuck goes over
two hundred yards two hundred and three yards rushing tonight
for Scottsburg, Nathan Bird ten out of twenty passing one
hundred and seventy six yards and three touchdowns, and so
Scottsburg definitely showed why they have been in the top

(18:16):
ten and three A, especially the second half of the season,
and why they're nine and two. And for North Harrison,
they finished four and seven on the season and obviously
not the way they wanted to finish, but they just
couldn't get anything going offensively tonight. And eventually, if your
defense is holding up your offense and the proplementary football
is not there, it just doesn't work. So kudos to

(18:37):
Scottsburg on a great effort. And now they get to
travel to Trafalgar next week to take on the Indian
Creek Braves for the Sectional thirty one title game.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
David eaton WKLO Scottsburg with a win, big solid win
tennight over North Harrison. David, thank you so much for
the call. We appreciate it. Twenty seven nothing the final
on this game. David. Thanks, We'll talk to you next weekend.

Speaker 7 (19:03):
All right, sounds a great coach. Thank you, have a
great weekend.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Thank you. Steve Olrey joins me from Indian High School
Sports dot Com. He has the Chitard win over Rebuff
Jesuit sixty three to thirty three. Steve, thanks for holding
I appreciate it very much. What an impressive win for
the Trojans tonight.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
Yes, sir, was Bob.

Speaker 8 (19:24):
I appreciate you taking the call.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
It didn't start that way.

Speaker 8 (19:27):
Yeah, Bbuff hung around. It was late in the first quarter.
It was twenty one to twenty guitar and Verbuff was
a missed extra point from being tied. Chatard had a
couple of turnovers. Their defense wasn't playing very well. Rebuff
had their quarterback, kege In boat Camp back. He missed
a lot of time throughout the middle part of the

(19:48):
season with an ankle injury, and their offense was was
moving the ball and keeping up. Unfortunately, their defense couldn't
keep them in the game and Schattard went on a
run and by halftime it was forty nine to twenty six.
And then about midway through the third quarter we had
a running clock, so Chatar pulled away and the got

(20:10):
the easy win. And now they'll face another very familiar
foe next week for the Sectional twenty two championship and Ron.

Speaker 9 (20:18):
Colly will come to town.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
The Royals will come over to Guitar next Friday night.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
That might be the premier game of the weekend next week.
With that question, I mean that what a matchup that
will be. That's an impressive Another impressive performance though for Chittard.
Talk about a team that's battle tested, understands what you
have to do to win in tournament situations. That's a

(20:44):
perfect description of this team.

Speaker 8 (20:47):
Yeah, they're very solid all three phases. Danny Adams is
an incredible weapon in the backfield. He was just named
the City Offensive Player of the Year in Indianapolis this week.
He's now gone over thirty rushing downs on the season,
had another big night tonight. Yeah, they're just they're just
really solid and getting contributions, not just from seniors. They've

(21:07):
got sophomores and juniors that are contributing and they did
beat college pretty handling during the season, but you know,
come playoff time, it's.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
A different animal, a different game this week.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Well, I hope you'll call us next week. Steve Ollery
from Indiana High School Sports dot Com on the call
of Shtard's sixty three thirty three win over Rebeff Jesuit
Preparatory School. Thanks so much for the call, Steve. Have
a great weekend.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
You see Bob.

Speaker 8 (21:37):
We'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Thanks very much. Coming up more high school football Darren
Fisher from Whiteland, Steve Cole from Waxl talking about football,
and we're gonna talk a little Pacers basketball coming up
in this next half hour two stay with us score
they coming up with Brendan King on Indiana Sports Talk

(21:59):
Medium soon.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
I was round with Jesus Christ at his moment. I'm
Brendan King with this network. Indiana scoreboard update here on
Indiana Sports Talk. Just a couple updates left tonight, so
we'll try and get in as many scores as we can.
We do have an update from Sectional twenty five. As
we told you earlier tonight, talented running back from Knox,

(22:25):
Miles McLaughlin breaking the new breaking the old time stint
rushing record held by New Palestine's Charlie Spiegaway. New all
time leading rusher in the state of Indiana, Miles McLaughlin,
part of Knox's fifty to thirty five win over Griffith tonight.
Charlie Spiegill, of course held the record ten eight and
sixty seven yards, so McLaughlin now has the all time

(22:47):
record as well as the single season rushing record, which
he broke last week. So Knox moves on. McLaughlin will
try and add on to his record and their opponent
Mischiwaka Marion out of Sectional twenty five Marian beat caliu
Met tonight forty three to eight. Elsewhere around the state,
We'll move down to Sectional twenty nine, staying in Class

(23:07):
three A where Gharren Catholic topped Crawfordsville forty five seven
and it was Cascade forty five and Try West fourteen
and Sectional thirty Lawrenceburg moves forward. Lawrenceburg over Franklin County
forty eight twenty seven. Their opponent next week Greensburg, who
handled South Dearborn twenty three to fourteen. From Sectional thirty two,
Evansville Memorial and Gibson Southern. It's Gibson Southern. With the

(23:31):
win twenty eight twenty one. Gibson Southern will now meet
Evansville Modern Day for a sectional championship. Modern Day over
south Ridge forty two to twenty one from Class two A.
Andrean moving forward with their winover Wheeler twenty eight to six,
they'll meet Rensaler Central a week from tonight. Renzialer Central
earn the seventeen to twelve win over Breeman. I'm Brendan

(23:52):
King Network Indiana.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Welcome back everyone, this is Indiana Sports Talk Sectional Action. Tonight,
Whiteland beats Columbus. He's forty twenty one with the Whitelan,
SAIDs coach Darren Fisher. Coach, congratulations on the win tonight.

Speaker 10 (24:06):
Coach Lovell, thank you very much, sir. It was a
it was fun night at home. We uh, we played well,
had a great team game. We really didn't. It wasn't
our best performance from an execution standpoint. All right, if
you made mistakes for us, but you know this time,
you think an old friend of mine, Bob Dad has
told me just got to live to play another week.

(24:26):
And that's that's where we are.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
And we're happy here. I would always tell my guys,
and we're not getting style points. That's why we played
basketball and football. We're not Yeah, we're not gymnastics, so
we don't get style points. We need w's.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
Yep, don't judge them, just count. Don't judge them, just counting.
My dad told me that.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
That's the idea. Well, it looks like you had, you know,
some good performances on both sides of the ball tonight.

Speaker 10 (24:52):
We did. We rushed for four hundred and seventy yards
as a team. Jordan Palmer had I don't know, twenty
carries for two in fifty something and four touchdowns. He
played well, like I said, Tyree Nolan Brady Yates, you know,
ran the football well on the perimeter, and you know, defensively,
day Kuns had an interception, and we played.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
We played. We just we turned the ball over twice
in the first half.

Speaker 10 (25:17):
Which is very stick for us, and gave them some
short fields and kind of let them stay in it.
They scored right out of the half, and it was
twenty one to fourteen in the third quarter, a little
tighter than we wanted it to be. But then our
kids kind of kind of kicked it in the gear
and put it away. And again you got to give
Columbus's credit that he did a great job of you know,

(25:38):
getting his team ready to play. And like I said,
they are their their quarterback played a gutsy football game
and he got got beat up a little bit. We
banged her out on him and sacked him and did
some things, picked him off and he kept coming. So again,
praise to that kid. But yeah, we're we're happy to
be moving on to the Sex and the final.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Who's that with next week?

Speaker 10 (26:03):
We've got East Central at home next week? Okay, okay,
it would be should be a good football game. Let's said,
you know, they're I think we're nine and two and
they're eight and two. And Lex said, we have a
lot of respect for right, you know, coach Miners in
their program and uh, you know we've h this is
the game that we you know, when our when it
started off and we start off in June, you know,

(26:25):
we talked about, hey, we want to we want to
play for the trophy. You know, we want to play
for a trophy again. And sure you know we want
it in twenty two, we want it in twenty three.
You know, last year we didn't quite get to the
you know, didn't get it done, and we're hoping to
get back there, and we've got our opportunity, so we
got to make the best of it.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Wiland over Columbus Ees tonight, forty two twenty one. Darren Fisher,
thanks for the call. Good luck next week.

Speaker 10 (26:49):
Thank you, Sarah, appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Heritage Hills beat seven, Zille writes tonight thirty one to
fourteen with me from w a XL. Steve Colb has
the call of the game. Steve. That's a great game,
great win for Harrity Chills tonight.

Speaker 11 (27:03):
It was a real nice win. It was. It didn't
go exactly the way the Patriots had planned it to go,
but you know, that's a ton of at football. You
gotta just roll with what happens. Patriots made some character
mistakes at times tonight, and they had to deal with
a freshman running back that's kind of hard to figure.

(27:27):
Amir Wilford is listed at five five but one hundred
and forty pounds, and he is a freshman, and the
kid runs between the tackle for the most part and
runs very well between the tackles. Now, he is also
a guy who's a threat to break it just about
every time he touches the football, but he runs extremely

(27:48):
hard and he kind of makes you hold your breath
as you know, somebody watching him run, because you just
never know you're gonna go on any different, you know, play.
And the problem for rich tonight was they really struggled
to throw the football because their starting quarterback, who I
think was a fill in anyway through one snap way

(28:13):
over through an intended receiver on his own sideline, and
then were taken out of the game and they put
a freshman in at quarterback. He was probably going to
be a good quarterback, but he struggled at times tonight
through three interceptions and there two of those in the touchdowns,
but Wilford really had to carry the load for him.
He got rights within a touchdown both in the second

(28:36):
quarter and in the third or fourth quarter, but each
time Hairded Chills was able to respond and get this
game put away. They had to kind of do it
without the legs of Jack Goldsberry because in the second
quarter he got beinged a little bit, missed a little
bit of time, came back in on the offensive side
of the ball at quarterback, but was much more of

(28:59):
a traditional pass and quarterback at that point. He did
run it some, but he didn't. He wasn't the explosive
runner after that after getting dinged that he was beforehand.
But his senior running back Dalton Pledger very good tonight.
Pledger ramp for a couple of scores and Goldsberry through
for a couple and Patriots were good enough tonight. They

(29:22):
got a great defensive stop late with an interception after
they had gotten the field goal to go up ten.
They get an interception and turn that into seven to
get the final margin.

Speaker 10 (29:32):
The game that really was a little.

Speaker 11 (29:34):
Closer than that final margin might indicate.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Harty Chiels moves on. Lavid Devenzil writes tonight thirty one
to fourteen, Steve Cold always great to talk to you.
Thanks for the call, Thanks Bob.

Speaker 11 (29:48):
A great one next week. Hereded chills that long time
rival Jasper next Friday night.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
That will in fact be a good one. That absolutely
should be good. Thanks for the.

Speaker 11 (29:59):
Call, Steve, have a good weekend.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Indian Creek meeks Madison to night forty six to seven
with me. Indian Creek head coach Max Gooding, coach, congratulations
on the win tonight.

Speaker 12 (30:12):
I appreciate it was proud of the way we got
off the bus after a long bus ride. Part of
the game off hot, scoring in all three phases, and
really did a nice job coming off of bye week
as well.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Always makes you feel good as a coach when you
guys get off the bus and come out and take
care of business, especially under the circumstances. That's a long
that's a long drive and there's so much on the
on the line. You gotta be enormously proud of these guys.

Speaker 12 (30:39):
Absolutely. You know, it's probably about an hour and forty
five minutes pretty good failing. But you know, we kind
of practiced that all summer, and you know, going up
the Western weekends, you know, we just know that our
sectional is not a short bus ride most of the
time unless you're at home, and and you know, just
getting acclimated to that. And I thought we handled it
really well, all right.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
You jumped on him early. Who plays well for you tonight, coach?

Speaker 12 (31:05):
Obviously in the running game or running category. Drew Pingleton
ran for one hundred and eighty yards, had a great
performance tonight. Jackson Ramy had a kick off return for
a touchdown, and then we also had a pick six
by Nate Nash to close out the game.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
All Right, who you matched up with? Next week?

Speaker 12 (31:23):
We have Scottsburg at home.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Oh, I love this game. I know you don't, but
I love this game. Should should be.

Speaker 12 (31:32):
A fun night Trafalgar. So we're excited. Obviously. Scottsburgh's a
great team that's had a great Sea run.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
So are we.

Speaker 12 (31:40):
And that's what Sexual Championship Football's about.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Max Gooding, the head coach at Indian Creek. Indian Creek
moves on. They beat Madison forty six to seven. Tonight, coach,
thanks to the call. Good luck next week, yep, thank
you for all you do. Thank you. Paul Condrey from
the Regional Radio Sports Network and the Indiana Football Diegest
Hall of Famer and two Halls of Fame. Tonight, Michigan

(32:09):
City beats Valparaiso thirty five to seven. Paul, thanks for
the call.

Speaker 13 (32:16):
Great to be with you tonight, coach. The streak is
over for Valparaiso. They had won seven sectionals in a row,
the second longest active streak.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
That's over tonight.

Speaker 13 (32:26):
Because Michigan City puts up twenty one points in the
second quarter and goes off and defeats a Valparaiso team
that finished the season with only two wins, thirty five
to seven the final score and this one Michigan City
with the great the second quarter end up wrecking up

(32:47):
four hundred and forty five yards a total offense, two
hundred and twenty three on the ground, two hundred and
twenty two via the air, so great balance led by
quarterback Trendhart who was nineteen to twenty five two hundred
and twenty two yards passing them with a score, also
had three rushing touchdowns. But it was a tremendous effort

(33:07):
by Michigan City today. They took advantage of free Valparaiso
miscues and put twenty one points on the board. So
they are going to advance to the championship game at
Kawanas Field. As laport upset it Schesterton tonight, so it'll
be the battle of Laporte County for the championship of

(33:32):
Class five A Sectional ten championship. So Valparaiso head coach
Bill Marshall loses his first game in his career in
sectional play. He had won fourteen straight games that streak
broken tonight and was oni.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
I'm Brendan Kang with this network Indiana scoreboard update here
on Indiana Sports Talk. Last opportunity to get you high
school scores. We'll go to Sectional thirty seven, where it
was Indianapolis Lutheran blowing out Park Tutor fifty two to fourteen,
and Heritage Christian in a bong game that went down
to the wire, defeats Monrovia fifty seven fifty six, Heritage

(34:39):
Christian by just a penny. They'll meet Lutheran next week.
Sectional thirty eight Triton Central tops Northeastern forty nine to six.
It was Lapel defeating Eastern Hancock twenty six to twenty two.
In Sectional thirty nine, Sullivan blows past North Posey fifty
three to seven. Litton Stockton takes care of Greencastle forty
six to ten. Sectional forty Switzerland County over Larksville fifty

(35:00):
six to twenty was Brownstown Central defeating Paoli sixty three
to twenty one. We'll go to Sectional forty two where
Pioneer defeated Frontier forty two six. It was Carol Flora
by just won over Taylor twenty to nineteen. Sectional forty
one had Laville by a pair over North Judson twenty
four to twenty two. West Central Laville's opponent next week,

(35:22):
West Central over Bowmen Academy fifty four to twenty. In
Sectional forty three, North Miami took care of Southwood sixty
one thirty. It was Fremont topping Triton twenty eight to nineteen.
Going to Sectional forty five. South Putnam over Fountain Central
forty five seven. Riverden Park defeats North Central Farmersburg forty
one six In Sectional forty seven, Miland defeated Eastern Green

(35:45):
fifty six to fourteen. North Dakatur earned the victory over
Knightstown thirty one eighteen. Lastly, Sectional forty eight, Providence the
defending one eight champ. They'll play for a sectional championship
with a thirty five to fourteen win against Springs Valley
North Davies opponent over to come See thirty six to six.
I'm Brendan King.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Welcome back, everybody in Bob Level. This is Indiana Sports
Talk High school football tonight down in the evans Ville area.
Great matchup. Give some Southern beat sevens Zoo Memorial twenty
eight to twenty one with me Mike Skivora. Mike. One
of the most anticipated games in the state. Tonight turned
out to be one possession game. Must have been a

(36:29):
great ball game tonight.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
You have, Bob.

Speaker 9 (36:33):
When you have two great teams like this, number one
Evans Memorial and number two gets some Southern a three eight,
you know, somebody's got to go home disappointed. And if
you're a Memorial fans, uh, they were, but it was
not because of a lack of efforts on both sides.
You know, two hours before the game, they got lines
outside the stadium. Before you know, the stands are full, right,

(36:59):
a ring in the field, and uh, it was just
a game that you know, Nick Hart from Giftson Southern
head coach and John Hurley from Evans Will Memorial. Uh,
you know they were well planned, well suited, and uh
you know you played in these close games. Uh, it's
it's got to be disappointing when you don't come away

(37:20):
with a win.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
So what's the difference, I mean, is there a late
score that gives some Southern pushes through or is how
did they end up winning it?

Speaker 9 (37:31):
Well, actually it was a tail of two halfsh it
was a pair of twenty one nothing runs. Giftson Southern
gets on the board in the first couple of minutes.
Memorial had some trouble offensively in their first possession, and
Noah Kaster catches the five yard touchdown pass from Zach
Foster and sother up seven nothing but Memorial then stops

(37:53):
Gipson Southern on the one foot line and then proceeds
get offense rolling as h the cornerback Nut Brown for Memorial,
so the two yard touchdown passed to Dylan Kendrick and
then later runs one into three yards and just before half,
Jj Lowery for Memorial and special teams runs back a

(38:14):
punt in the last minute of thirty nine yards and
all of a sudden, Memorials up twenty one to seven,
and there the fans who are looking pretty good. But
whatever nick Hart talked about at halftime was the difference,
as again Gibson Southern comes out and scores in their
first two possessions, ties it up on a three yard

(38:39):
run by Foster or excuse me, by a sheer, and
then Foster ties it up late in the third quarter
on a nine yard run, and then the midway through
the fourth quarter, Zack Foster gets another touchdown run of
seven yards makes it twenty eight to twenty one, and

(38:59):
really with a tail two halfs Memorial couldn't get anything
going the second half offensively until their last possession. They
get a long pass from Brown to Luke Dockery. They
get down into the three yard line with less than
a minute to go, but there's a penalty and Brown

(39:21):
throws his third interception. He know he throws three interceptions
all year, as Lloyd Fellers comes up with his ninth
interception of the year, which coming in he had eight
and he was one behind in the state. So a
lot of big numbers and Gibson Southern is gonna go
for their sectional championship next week. In writes Bowl up

(39:46):
against modern Day. Just some quick numbers, Luke Dockery for
Memorial to the receiver the senior finished, some career numbers
nine catches to twenty eight Brown VI junior quarterback or
Memorial they want up twenty four eighty four yards, but
Colin Sheer that touchdown twenty carries ninety four yards. But

(40:10):
Zach Foster, you know the dual trek quarterback two touchdown
runs seventy two yards and he took for two hundred
and nine yards as a total offense. For rights, excuse
me of Gibson Southern three seventy seven, the Memorials three
thirty nine, and a ballgame where again it was it

(40:32):
was a tough game and you know the Heart family.
I'm sure did John Hart wins again with Brownsburg tonight?

Speaker 1 (40:41):
I believe they did.

Speaker 9 (40:42):
Yes, Okay, Well John Hart, the dad and his sons
Derek at Jasper and Nick at gets Southern, all playing
for sectional championships next Friday.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
Mike, Mike Scavara on the call, give some so other
twenty eight twenty one winners over Mson Memorial Thanks Mike,
Welcome back everyone. High school football tonight, Knox beats Griffith
fifty to thirty five with me Hall of Fame coach
Russ Radke coach, thanks to the call. Congratulations on another
great win tonight.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
Well, I appreciate it. It's got some great accoloids that
have took place in the game itself. And we had
representatives from Indianapolis and I had just say and everywhere tonight.
But we played a very tough team. We reach Griffith,
who was nine to one. It was a fantastic effort

(41:38):
and you know, got a little lack of aisy goal
at the end. Didn't do as well as we'd like.
To but we were up thirty nothing at one time.
So yeah, having won the ballgame is what's important right now.
You just get it and get on the next week.
But we did have some great accomplishments by our running back.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
Well, give me the stats on Miles tonight and all
the and the records he broke tonight.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
All right. He scored forty two points tonight. He is
now the number one scorer in the career of football
in the state of Indiana with one ninety two points.
And he's done that. And then he also set the

(42:27):
new career rushing yards for the state of Indiana. He's
now has eleven thousand, four yards, which is six point
two miles rush eight yards tonight. So he OWDs the

(42:48):
season rushing record, he OWDs the career scoring record, and
he holds the career rushing record.

Speaker 1 (42:58):
Man.

Speaker 4 (42:58):
And it's quite an accomplishment. But we don't dwell on
that now. We worry about continuing trying to win. But
our linemen are so excited about it because for him
to get even three yards, right, they have to make
those holes. And you know, our quarterback coaches and our
running back coaches and a lineman, they all line coach,

(43:22):
all come up with schemes and something we just don't
think about right stapping to him trying to run. It
doesn't work that way. And as far as we can
keeps coming up with schemes against our a fight, it's
worked quite well.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
Russ Radkey, the football coach at Knox High School. Knox
beats Griffith fifty to thirty five. Miles McLaughlin single season
record already in the books, career rushing, career scoring record
in the books. Whatever's out there for him to win,

(43:57):
he's got it. Coach, thanks so much for the call.
Good luck next week.

Speaker 4 (44:01):
I repeat again that only our opponents make us as
tough as we are, and Griffiths gave us everything tonight,
and for us to put the points up and still
do what we do, it's gonna make us get tougher.
And our conference is that way, our appoints so that way.
So we'll treate trying to build on this. It's so hard,

(44:22):
and I've been doing this for so long. We start
out with sixty four, we're down to thirty two. There's
only sixteen of us left.

Speaker 1 (44:29):
Coach, Thanks good luck next week, all right.

Speaker 4 (44:32):
I take care of We'll be at home against.

Speaker 1 (44:34):
Misch Walker, Mary perfect. Thanks, thanks so much, Thanks so
much to Coach Radky and all the other callers we
had tonight. My thanks to Kurt Gerald's and Brendan King.
Great job as always, Thanks to our great stations around
the state to bring you the show every Friday and
Saturday night, and thanks to all of you for making
us the most listen to sports socks show in the state.
