Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back, everybody.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
This is Network Indiana's Indiana Sports Talk final hour of
the weekend.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
We have a lot of football to talk about with
Matthew Bull, the football coach in.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Hanover joining us Paul Condrey talking about high school football
from last night and looking ahead to Friday night sectional championships.
Right now, though, we turn it over to the star
of our show. It's Network Indiana's Corbyn Lingenfelter.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
This Indiana Sports Talk scoreboard update is brought to you
by Quality Supply and Tool in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Jefferson, Villain Lafayette,
Think outside the Box store Quality Supply and Tool dot Com.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
It's great to be with you and Kurkjeralds on this
Saturday night here in Central Indiana talking about what we
all love sports throughout the Hoosier State. Starting off, the
Indianapolis Colts take on the Pittsburgh Steelers coming up tomorrow
at one o'clock. Head coach Shane Steiken gave his overall
thoughts on Pittsburgh earlier this week.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Very talented football team going on the road in a
hostel environment. Got a lot of respect for their players,
their coach. I think they do a phenomenal job. So
we're looking forward to the opportunity to go.

Speaker 6 (01:11):
On the road.

Speaker 7 (01:12):
Though.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Quarterback Daniel Jones gave his thoughts on Pittsburgh's defense.

Speaker 8 (01:17):
The way they play, you know, I think that's always
that's always the thing when you when you think about
the Pittsburgh Steelers as their aggressive, fast flowing, you know,
downhill defense and how they want to play kind of
the mindset and the culture that they have there. So
you know, a lot of respect for them and and
their group and you know.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
We'll we'll work all week to be ready for Speaking
of quarterbacks, the Forest Buckners spoke on Aaron Rodgers and
how the forty one year old is doing here in
the NFL.

Speaker 9 (01:49):
He's still got the arm talent, you know, so that
can it for an arm obviously was well respected. Yeah,
I mean he gets the boss of his playmakers. He's
the right checks to the line of scrimmage. You know,
he if he wants to diagnose the coverage, you know
what you're in. And yeah, I mean we got to
do a good job with you know, obviously some disguises
or whatever whatever we're running and execute because he'll make
you pay.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
And what do you think of Pittsburgh, you think of
blue collar, blue blood style play. Rookie Ted end Tyler
Warren discussed playing in that kind of environment.

Speaker 10 (02:19):
It is another week, right and you gotta focus on
what you do. But it is cool to you know
when you get there, take it in, maybe you know
see where you're at, stuff like that, but not making
something you know to where it's going to affect me.
So I think pregame, look around, you understand them, enjoy it.
But then also we got a job to do, and
so folksing during the week I think will be the same.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
But one story with Pittsburgh is their tight ends and
their running backs. That's exactly what Zaire Franklin talked about.

Speaker 11 (02:42):
Yeah, they do a great job. I mean they got
three really talented tight ends. You know, a lot of
respect for those guys. I mean they all block too.
I think that's one of the biggest things. They all
put their nose in and get after it. You know,
one of them is obviously way bigger than the rest,
but yeah, they all can they attack you vertically obviously.
I know John I know from Miami. He's araizone threat

(03:02):
screen threat as well, and had an opportunity to play
against the both of them before too so extremely talented
tight end room. But like I said, it all starts
to stopping a run.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
All that audio courtesy of Colts dot Com. Indianapolis and
Pittsburgh coming up at one o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Colts looking
to go eight and one and also winning Pittsburgh for
the first time since two thousand and eight. College football
scores from earlier on today number nine, number two, I
U improves the nine and oh After a fifty five

(03:33):
to ten win over Maryland, head coach Urt Signetti gave
his overall thoughts on the game.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
All Right, it's hard to win on a road.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Good win.

Speaker 12 (03:43):
You know, a game didn't start out great, you know
with the turnover. Defense did a great job of holding
number three points and the second drive the offense didn't
do a whole lot either. Defense held him again and
at the end of the day, the defense created five turnovers.
This was the number one team in the country in
turnover ratio going in the game. Offense ran the ball

(04:05):
for three hundred and seventy yards and I think Maryland
ran for twenty five. So it's hard to win on
the roads.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Really, good win.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
All you as nine to zero for the first time
in back to back seasons in program history. Number twelve,
Notre Dame takes down Boston College twenty five to ten.
You in Indy over Quincy forty nine to three, Hanover
over bluffed in forty eight to nothing, and a correction
from earlier on Franklin College wins forty one to seven
over and er Sid Marion takes down Saint Francis from

(04:40):
Illinois twenty eight to eleven. Drake over Butler twenty forty
nineteen and Handover over bluffed in forty eight to zero.
I'm Cordy Wingfelter.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Welcome back everyone on Bob Lovel.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
This is Network Indiana's Indiana Sports Talk College Football today
and Over Panthers forty eight nothing winners over bluffing with
me the head coach of the Panthers, Matt Theobald. Matt,
thanks so much for the call. Congratulations on an important
conference win this afternoon.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
Yeah, Bob, No, thank you very much. Yeah, it was.
It was a good win. On the road overnight game
at Bluffton. Got to see all types of different weather.
Wendy Sonny, It's always changing up there. It seems like
during the game and but a little bit of a
tough place to play, and you've been up there a

(05:34):
few times, I'm sure. Yeah, and we Ian Robby Bush
kind of put on a show tonight there today, And
I mean, the kid was outstanding due for fight. Ran
for another one hundred and sixteen yards of offense, and
he did a great job defensively shut him out. Daron

(05:57):
Jenkins had three sacks for us overall. I mean we
did a great job of really stopping their run. And
you know, it's a great day when your punter is
perfect on the day, zero for zero. So offense took
care of the ball and scored and and yeah, his
mom came up after the game was like, you know,
we shure like seeing Nick kickt I think, hey, we're

(06:19):
good with him just numbers timelines watching the game.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
So yeah, hey we drove five hours to see it. Yeah,
we drove five hours to see but he never did it.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
No, I've heard those comments, you.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
Know that, and they're great and they laughed about it
as well. But but yeah, no, we uh, like I said,
Ian just played a great game. I think he was. Yeah,
I'm looking at stat seventeen for twenty eight, pretty good.
Get pretty good day. And we created three turnovers, we
had three three interceptions and and and five sacks and

(06:55):
and gave up no sacks. And I'm just happy he
kept that this win kind of to put us with
a with a share of the of the conference championship.
And you know, so we were were we still got
some more work to do. We've got out of by
next week for Sooner Day, and then we've got the
Big Belt game with Mike Leonard and the and the
Grizzlies come to our place for our last conference game.

(07:17):
So but it's it's nice to kind of have a
little bit knowing that, you know, we're for sure gonna
have another week to play. And uh, the guys, uh,
you know, guys, like I said, this team has been
a great joy to the coach and practice and then
they show up every day and excited to uh get
to get to go another round with them. So uh
it's been a fun one.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
It's also a group that uh, I think kind of
had a chip on his shoulder and coming into.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
The start of the season. Uh, you know I.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
Would a little bit Yeah, we we uh with with
with with with Mount Saint Joe kind of having won
the last three or four. I think they had something
to prove and and we kind of let one slip.
We thought last year to you we right a couple
of times and in Mount Saint Joe took it and uh, no,
you're you're you're one hundred percent right, coach, and that

(08:06):
they that these guys have have been motivated since, uh
since we finished that bowl game last year. I think
that went over wall Bash really kind of got him
thinking about, hey, we can do some pretty special things
here and and you know again, we're just trying to
stack good practices and good days and go out there
and uh and play good, good physical football. I think
that's what I love about this team is is a

(08:27):
you know, I think what teams plays, they they realized
that we're gonna it's a sixty minute fight. So and
that's what we we kind of pride ourselves in here
at Hanover.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
One thing I learned from Red back in the day,
Oh you gotta have a trigger man. That's all you
used to say, you gotta have trigger man, and you
you got one. I mean, Ian rowdy Bush is as
good as it gets. And I'm looking at five hundred
and eighty six total yards on a daylight today.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
That's amazing.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
Yeah. Yeah, and he, you know, just pretty pretty simple,
you know, just just kind of made all the right
reads and and I thought we were gonna break we
had we called him play today. We got backed up
on the half yard line and we called him play
and we had a tight end runner right down the
middle of the field for a ninety nine yard touchdown.
And I was like, did you see him? He's like, yes,

(09:16):
I just he just didn't he had enough time to
get him the ball, so he kind of had to
tuck his run. And uh so whatever, you know, I try.
We trust him and he's such a great, great leader
young man for us. You know. Just we're driving from
the hotel in Lima to the to the game at
Blufton and he's in his playbook. He's got, you know,
that big notebook that all these quarterbacks have now, and

(09:36):
he's just going over all the adjustments and I'm like, wow,
that's that's pretty impressive. Man. This kid's a junior in
college and takes it so serious, you know. And he's
a guy that he didn't start at senior year at
New Pale and uh, you know, we're sure glad that
he decided to be a panther and and as uh
and as our bona fide leader out there on the field.
And the guy's rally around him and he's got some

(09:57):
other help. I mean Ceebe Shelby had no catches today
at a bunch. You know, Rent was our second leading
rusher I think from the receiver spot. And those two
just connected today and and and had something special. So uh,
and what I love about we're all juniors and sophomore
is and freshman. We had twelve seniors, twelve seniors, thirteenth
seniors total, so we got a pretty good core. Uh.

(10:22):
You know that that's getting a great opportunity to learn
some more and get play some uh play some postseason
ball for us.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
So about it, Matt, Yes, hang on here, Okay, I
want to hang on through the school board up.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Can you do that here?

Speaker 6 (10:35):
I can do it all right.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
We'll come back talk more handover college football after the
school board update on Network Indiana's Indiana Sports Talk.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
This Indiana Sports Talk scoreboard update is brought to you
by Quality Supply and Tool in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Jeffersonville, and Lafayette.
Think outside the Box store. Quality Supply and tool dot Com.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
I'm corby Lincoln Belter with this network Indiana Scoreboard update
Game seven of the World Series for twenty twenty five
blue Jays over the Dodgers. Currently four to three, top
of the ninth inning, the blue Jays two outs away,
make that a change four to four as we were
just speaking. A home run by Miguel Rojas ties the

(11:24):
game up in the top of the ninth inning with
one out. The Blue Jays and the Dodgers again tied
in Game seven of the World Series in a winner
take all game. Speaking of winner take all games, coming
up next Friday is the Sectional championships for the IHSA
football season here in Indiana. Some of those games will

(11:48):
include six A Sectional one Crown Point at Penn Fort, Wayne,
Northrope at Carol Fort, Wayne, Westfield at Carmel Hambleton, Southeastern
at Fishers for Sectional four, Sectional five Avon at Brownsburg
Decatur Central, and Sectional six will be at Laurence Central.
Sectional seven is Southport at Lawrence Central and Center Grove

(12:11):
will be at Franklin Central in Sectional eight to round
the out Class six' A. In Class five A Sectional nine,
Munster Is at Maryville. Sectional ten is Michigan City at Laporte,
Concord is at Fort wayde North, and Lafayet Jeff is
at Kocomo in Sectional twelve. Cathedral will be at Newpow

(12:32):
for Sectional thirteen. East Central is at white Land for
Sectional fourteen, and Sectional fifteen is Bloomington North at Bloomington South.
Sectional sixteen Evansville North at Floyd Central. I'm Corbin Lingolnfelter.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Welcome back, everybody, and Bob level.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
This is Indiana Sports suck alike. Corbyn home run, as
we're speaking, home run to tie it up.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
Man oh man, Yeah, coach, and to make it even sweeter.
That is Miguel Rojas's first home run since September nineteenth.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Oh all right, So hey, look there's still a lot
of ball to be played. And don't forget this group
had a what an eighteen inning.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
They did?

Speaker 4 (13:26):
That was what I want to say.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Three yeah, so yeah, why not? It's just been that great.
It's been fantastic. I mean, I mean, it doesn't matter
to me who wins. I just think it's great. I
think it's fantastic the way it's gone. All right, tell
me about the day in college football at the big
time level.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
On the national stage.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Our Hoosiers continued to do well, right, yes they did,
they did. Okay, you know what, coach theobol, I forgot you.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
I'm sorry. Don't take this personally, will you.

Speaker 6 (14:02):
I forgot That's all right as well. And and your
radio was ahead of my TV. I think, oh wow, three, yeah,
you're all good. It's all good.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
We're sorry that. You know, we didn't want to throw
you off, all right.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
So I'm a big win today.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Go ahead, go.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
Ahead, No, no big win. It just it was kind
of nice just to get you know, not that we're
ever satisfied, but just get over the hump there and
and know that there's gonna be some postseason play and
and got a chunk of it. But the goals to
you know, get the gold ring, not the silver ena
or you guys share it with somebody. So and then
Otter Bonn is a good team. And then we got

(14:43):
the team up north and Mike Leonard and the grizz
are back and it should be it should be a
fun one. So excited about it. And uh, we'll uh
get back to working on Monday. So but.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Ian Routybush Gooster two hundred and fifty eight yards When
you recruited him, did you see him having this kind
of success.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
No? And then and that's uh, we recruited well and
I and I played with his dad, Nick was an
All American receiver and we are not. Erica's older brother
was playing for us, and you know, I think Ian
was a little apprehensive because you know, sometimes little brothers
don't want to follow the big brother. And we just said, hey, listen,

(15:28):
we're gonna get We're gonna give you a shot to
play quarterback. We know you're smart enough. You know, it's
just can you get the reps? And you know, he just
he he he got his opportunity actually at Bluffing. His
freshman year was his first start ever. And uh and
and so he like he like he likes the wind
and the snow and the rain and and uh so

(15:49):
he's just he's a bulldog and he's super smart and
a competitor and the O line guy's loving because he's
in the weight room lifting with those guys and just
a student of the game and and goes about his
business very very professionally. And uh we kind of threw
him to the wolves a little bit, and we're seeing
some of those uh some of the repercussions of him

(16:09):
being you know, just get some good experience when he
was younger. So excited him to having with us and
be our leader, and excited to have him for another year.
So he's awesome to have in the office. And it
takes us so serious and wants to be great and
and you know, and and for him to you know,
a lot of guys don't want to compete like like

(16:32):
he did. And we just said, hey, we're gonna give
you a shot. Come in and and and he made
some place as a freshman when we threw him in
against Mount Saint Joe after our starter broke his ankle
and away he went. So but he's got he's great.
He's a dual threat. He's gonna pull it down and
run it. I mean, he had a fifty six yard
today where he just ran away from people. And you know,
he's the kid that gets them squat racking. He's gonna

(16:54):
squat five hundred and six hundred pounds and that's why
the old line guy's love him. So he's in there
lifting their weight.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
So yeah, yeah, all right, so you've you've you clinched
the championship, right.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
So you're the first part of it, A part of it,
at least a part of it.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
Yeah, so that's it's it's nothing's nothing's right. So we
we we we should get to go to the national
playoffs as everything plays out the way it should. And
so we're we're now we just go play some football
and uh go go compete against Aiderbyn. That's really our
main focus and just staying how we have stayed right.

(17:30):
But we're I told them I to enjoy it for
twenty four hours Salloween, go down and be a shoe ship,
and then we'll get back to work on Monday morning,
eight o'clock, we'll be we'll be back grinding and watching
film and lifting and getting ready for uh for the
Cardinals next Saturday.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Well, congratulations, I'm happy for you. You know that gradiate it. Uh,
I'm happy for you.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
And I'm gonna be like Switzerland on the uh on
the bell game.

Speaker 6 (17:58):
I think there's a lot of there's a lot of
guys like that right now as well.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
So well, you know what I could remember, listen, I
was I was coaching at at the college at the time.
UH get I get read and I get summoned to
a meeting.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
With our president.

Speaker 12 (18:17):
Right.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
I think I've told you this story before we get called,
and I was I was familiar. You can appreciate, you
know me. I was familiar with being summoned to the
President's office more than once. So so I'm thinking, you know,
I don't know that I've done anything but walk in,

(18:38):
sit down, and the president and the Dean stern looks on.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Their faces and they say, literally like this is some
business meeting.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
They go, from this point forward, you are not to
schedule Handover College in any sporting event.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
And I made the mistake and say what I mean,
how come?

Speaker 2 (18:56):
And it was, well, you know our behavior, your behavior,
it's bad for you, it's bad. It's not what we
stand for. On and on and on, and I'm trying
to remember exactly what I might have done. I just
know that you know, you got your basketball team was
just at that time, Gabriel Saint Pierre and those guys, are.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
You kidding me?

Speaker 2 (19:18):
We weren't going to win anyway, and so you know,
Red and I walk out going.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
All right, so we're so we're not playing and that's
how it is.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
And and I didn't really, I mean, I knew there
was a whole lot of tension between us.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
I just know this that you know. In nineteen seventy eight.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
My first year, we win the NAI District championship and
guess who we Beatllege.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
I take great when my grandson calls me and tells
me he's coming down to your.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Place and play lacrosse.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
And I said, okay, now that you've made this decision,
can I tell you how much I hate those guys?

Speaker 1 (20:01):
And he goes what, I go, well, yeah, and he.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Goes I said, well, look I go, I take him
through the whole rivalry and he goes, well, why didn't
you tell me that?

Speaker 1 (20:09):
I said, Well, I did want to influence your decision.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
It's a perfect school for you, I said, I'm I said,
I'm going to come down here and be your biggest fan,
but I.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Just want you to know I don't like them. And
I said and I said, I want you to understand,
and they don't like me.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
So you have to understand that your grandfather is persona
on ground on that campus.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
I said, I told me.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
He said why and I said, well, my first championship,
I had four teams go to the.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
NAI National tournament. My first one beat handover to.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Win the championship my last one at I U p U,
I beat guess who hand over to go to the
national championship. I said, So, it makes perfect sense for
you to make this.

Speaker 6 (20:48):
Move exactly exactly, well, you know it's for me. I'm
I'm you know, I spent thirteen great years at the
school up north and and Mike was a mentor for
me as a as a player and a coach and a
young coach. So I love him, uh three hundred, I
guess fifty one weeks a year and then and then
that week. You know, you know, it's just so, But

(21:11):
but that's what makes it fun, you know. I mean,
we we're you know, we're. I don't we'd like to
pitch each other as though Ohio Sayton Michigan rivalry. But sure,
I think both sham Beckler and Woody Hayes loved each
other and that and that's kind of how I feel
for Mike Leonard and those guys and Steve Rock and
some of the best years of my life were there
with my kids, and I'll never forget them. But I
also love to beat the beat the grids and keep

(21:35):
the bell and and that's what makes the rival fun.
So so we'll be excited about I get to the
Cardinals first. But but there you go. Well, hopefully we'll
see if the game this year. Okay, come on down.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Uh, you're asking for a lot. Now you're asked, you're
asking for You're asking for way too much. Handover hand
over with a big win today over bluffing forty eight
nothing in the final, Matthew Bald.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Great to talk to you. When you catch me at
a point, I'll give you more stories on all the
old days. How's that? Sorry? Brother, Welcome you too.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Good luck coming up? Yeah, I'm taking that trip down
memory lane. I apologize for that. I know you get
bored with that, but it's they're all true. Coming up,
the fun part of the weekend continues. We're going to
talk with Paul Conders from the Regional Radio Sports Network

This is Network Indiana's Indiana's tortstock last night, second round
semi finals, if you will, of the sectional championship in
football around our state. It was a fun night, great night,
weather was perfect, great games in all, great individual performances.
And who better to talk about it than the man

(25:16):
who wrote the book about football in our STATEUS called
the Indiana Football Digest. He's in the Indiana Football Hall
of Fame, the Indiana Sports Writers and Sportscasters Hall of Fame,
the Good Guy Hall of Fame, and and the Proud
Graduate of Hobart High School, Paul Henry, thanks for joining me.
Glad you're with me. Fun night last night, it really was.

Speaker 7 (25:40):
And thanks for the opportunity to talk about a little
American tackle football here on a Saturday night on a
big show. It's been a blast to be able to
do this over the course of the last three decades,
and hanging out with you coach as always a special line.
You know, last night was a very unique night because
a lot of times you and I have these had
these conversations over these many many years about upsets here,

(26:01):
upsets there. Last night was a very unique night because
there was not a lot of up.

Speaker 6 (26:07):
Sets in our in our in our tournament series.

Speaker 7 (26:09):
As you look at it, you look in six A
outside of Lawrence North losing to a really talented Lawrence
Central team, another team that was ranked I'll be you know,
a little bit lower, Plainfield, the only team in Class
five A. In Class four A, no of the top
teams lost in Class three A. Obviously, the big the

(26:30):
big game that a lot of you guys talking about,
and I heard conversations last night on the Big Show
with Evansville Memorial losing. But you know what happens when
you lose to the number two team in the state,
you know, I mean he comes out as the legendary
Dave Miller used to say, try West number eighteen losing
but in two way, bluff In and Rochester losing some games.

(26:51):
But in Class one A, Springs, Valley, North, Judson and
Frontier all losing games. But when you look at the
big picture of how many games that were being played,
that's just not a lot of activity. Yeah, there were
a couple of number one teams they've turned into the uniforms,
but that's really not bad when you look at the
amount of games that was going on. And so as
we move into Championship Friday coming up this week, it's

(27:13):
going to be a special time for some kids to
be able to get into those special moments. And I'm
excited to be able to talk with you about it
here tonight because it was a night that we saw
a lot of really unique experiences and I coach. Of course,
everybody's got to be talking about Niles mc miles mcglaslin
who went rough shot four hundred and eight yards. I
heard him on I heard Russ Raki on with you

(27:35):
on the Big Show. Right, it's just closing up shop
last night. Six touchdowns just a special performance. He now
has eleven thousand and four yards over the course of
his career, has now become the States all time leading rusher.
That is one of those rare moments in time, coach,
as you well know that you know, you and I
have been behind We've been behind the mics for a

(27:57):
lot of these performances over the many, many years. But
that was one that sure, it's always neat to be
able to talk about, and I'm happy for him. I
had a chance to meet him when he was down
at the Gritty's program, and you were there too. He
was a member of the Indiana Football Digest Primetime twenty five.
Really nice young man, very very humble, and it couldn't
happen to a better person. So congratulations to Miles mclofflin

(28:18):
on being the States all time leading rushing.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
For those who don't get a chance to see him,
he's a quarterback. So how is he able to do
what he's able to do? What's the system that allows
him to do what he does in terms of putting
up these staggering numbers night after night.

Speaker 7 (28:37):
Well, I always go back and once again I'm going
to really show my age at sixty nine. Here. You know,
the Green Bay Packers for many many years in the
sixties they won seven CHI seven World Championships in ten years.
Everybody knew where the Packer power sweep was coming from.
But everybody had to somehow, some way had a chance
to stop it. But they couldn't do it. In the
same situation with me, with Miles mclofflin, great offensive line,

(29:00):
they got a terrific head coach, one of the best
coaches in the history American tackle football in the Crossery
let alone, the hoop let alone, our great state of Indiana.
But he's just done a great job of just being
able to stay focused, being able to do all the
things he's Staidi's played with it. The thing that that
amazes me about Miles is that he and in my
conversations with him, this passion we did a special feature

(29:23):
on colts dot com, is that he plays within the
infrastructure of the offense that coach Racky has felt and
the two have. It's been a great marriage between the two.
Really really happy for a nice young man to be
able to achieve the success that he's had. And you know,
anytime you have an athlete, play within his means, play
within the within the confines of what you've asked him

(29:46):
to do. That's what makes him special. And so I'm
so happy for this young man who's been able to
do this, I mean, scored six touchdowns and making a
mistake about a Phil Mason, the coach of Griffith. He
can coach him up as well as anybody. And if
you can rack up four hundred yards against a Filmmason
coach team, you've done a heck of a job.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Paul Andrey with us, we're talking about last night sectional
action around the state. All right, let's talk about some games,
really impressive game. I think one of the biggest woes
in anticipation of last night Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern
seemed to live up.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
To all the hype. Quite frankly, you know, you.

Speaker 7 (30:27):
Look at this game and you and quite frankly, you
get the number one team, the number two team, you know,
a one score game, and you think about it, what's
going to happen here? I mean, is it going to
be an offensive play here, a defensive play here? Evans
Memorro John Hurley is just one a form modable job.

(30:47):
But you know what it's setting up the Stager coach.
And I don't know if most football fans understand the
dynamics going on here, but Nick cart Across, who's done
a tremendous job at Gibson Southern, they have a veteran group.

Speaker 6 (31:00):
Knew this coming into the season.

Speaker 7 (31:01):
But what it sets up right now, coming into this
next Friday, as there are three Hearts coaching in the
next playing for state championships. You've got Nick Hart coaching
at Gibson Southern. You got John of course, is one
of the greatest coaches who ever coached football in our
great state. He's coaching at Brownsburg. And the little brother

(31:23):
is going to be working over here Jasper and trying
to make some noise here as they were going to
be matched up against Heritane Hills. So I'm just going
to project, I'm going to say it. It's the elephant
in the room, as you'd like to say. I think
we're going to see two Hearts playing on Thanksgiving weekend.
Will we get three? Well, that will certainly be the
biggest challenge because Jasper has to play a very very

(31:47):
talented Heritage Chills team, a team that certainly was the
state champions a year ago and certainly has a lot
of moxie, that certainly has a lot of talent and
could make a strong run in the four A state
championship scheme if it kind of plays itself out that way.
But so excited about the opportunity for the three Heart
guys being able to advance in the postseason and this week,

(32:11):
and we'll certainly we'll play itself out as a as
a great opportunity because this Brownsburg team is very, very
talented and they're going to be taking on our team
that probably played them as well as anybody did all year,
and that's that very very talented Rod Gibson coach Avin
football team.

Speaker 6 (32:27):
So it should be a good weekend.

Speaker 7 (32:28):
I know we'll be talking about that in the next segment,
But there's going to be some great games, but that
Brownsburg Avin game, I think it's going to be a
good one coming up on Friday.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
I think there you look up and down. Obviously, as
you mentioned, there weren't too many or any surprises last night,
but you can you can already see certain teams.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
That just continue to continue.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Center grow after what was seemingly a slow start. Blanks
Jeffersonville they are. It appears on a collision course with
some others which I don't want to interview with your
your comments about next week's games. But interesting, you know
New pal flex is their muscle against my alma mater,
playing field in an impressive way, and your alma mater

(33:18):
squeezes one out if you will, forty three six over KVH.
I love the Mischewaka story. They keep playing well. They
get a good win over Plymouth. I just you know,
you look up and down ron Kyleie with a good win.
Shechitar just being stared last night, how about martins Will
hanging in. It's a good game with Charlestown and martins

(33:40):
Will lesson a lot of interesting games last night.

Speaker 7 (33:43):
I think that there there are there are several games
that that that jump off the page of me that
I thought that certainly we're exciting, not only for the fans,
but also for for us, you know, in the position
that we're at right now. I think one game, you know,
the Michigan City, the Michigan City Vappel game at Michigan City,

(34:04):
yea of all time has beaten Valparaiso twice in the
same year, and that ends Valparaiso streak of seven consecutive
sectional titles and then you kind of piggyback that and
think about it. Okay, well, all right.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Hold on to that thought. I apologize for interrupting. Hang on,
We'll come back after.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
The school board update and uh recap that a little
bit and talk about next week.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
This is Indiana Sports Stuck.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
This Indiana Sports Talk scoreboard update is brought to you
by Quality Supply and Tool in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Jefferson, Villa,
and Lafayette Think outside the box store Quality Supply and.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
I'm Corbyn Lingabilter with this network. Indiana Scoreboard Update. Class

(36:06):
Sectional forty seven will be North to Cator at Mylin
and Sectional forty eight Providence at North Davies. All these
games taking place next Friday, November seven. In the World
Series extra innings. Does that sound familiar? Dodgers and Blue
Jays tied at four to four. Top of the tenth inning.

(36:26):
Dodgers was one out, but a runner on first up
to bat is Max Month. See the Dodgers did get
two outs that they needed, one coming off of Miguel
Rojas with a close play at the plate, making his
case for possible Game seven MVP. I'm Corpy Lingo Pelter.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Welcome back everyone. This is Indiana's sports Dock on Bob Level,
which my good friend.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Paul Candrey from the regional radio Sports network in Indiana
Football Dodge, just.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
As we do every Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Well, I kind of rudely cut you off there before
the scoreboard update.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
More games from last night that have your attention.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
Well, I think that you look at there are certainly
going to be some great games, and I think I
would like to transition into next week's games the sectional finals.
But there there's one marquee game. Of all the games
that's coming up this Friday, there's only one game that
our fans and the Hoosier State are going to be
excited about, because there's only one game in Indiana that

(37:35):
is going to see two unbeaten teams play each other.
Crown Point, the champions of the Duneland Athletic fights, four
time champions. They're going to be on the road at
free Field taking on a Peneum. This is probably the
best pen team that we've seen in fifteen years, and
I think that that was going to be an incredible
football game. I mentioned this, Bob, you and I've talked
about this for every week for the last twelve thirteen weeks.

(37:58):
I mentioned to you that when Kevin Wright came back
into the high school game in the Hoosier State that
Carmel was immediately going to be a relevant program. Well,
they're going to have a chance to prove at Greyhound
Stadium on Friday, because they're going to be taking one
of the best young coaches in the Hoosier Strait.

Speaker 6 (38:15):
Hoo's your state.

Speaker 7 (38:16):
Excuse me when they're going to be taken on Josh
Miracles Westfild team. That's going to be a great eight
and two, nine to one game, I think some of course,
the Battle of the mud Sock between Hamilton and Southeastern Fishers
is a great rifi And of course I know you
talked about it the Big Show last night. Cathedral at
New Palestine. This is a championship championship type performance situation

(38:38):
because you have one of the great coaches in Bill
Peebles taking on New Palestine. That's a great football game.
I heard your conversation last night. What Darren Fisher his
team is going to be at home against a really,
really talented East Central football team. I think another game
and you mentioned Hilbert at the top of the show.
Hobert's going to be matched up against Lowell. Those two
teams have It's just been a great rivalry between those

(39:02):
two teams. And I'm excited to see that the Brickies
are going to try to win another championship in the sectional.
But at some other games down South. How about the
eight and two Evansville North team. It's going to be
on the road to take on Coach Braggs fully Central
team South Bend St. Joe Mischiwaka was really really fortunate

(39:23):
on Friday to surpass very very talented Plymouth team. They
were going to be at home against South Bend St. Joe,
a battle of two ten and one teams. East Snowble
will be on the road in the Fort to take
on Bishop Blinger an eleven to zero and nine to
two team run Collige Star. Tell me these two teams
like each.

Speaker 6 (39:41):
Other, Not.

Speaker 7 (39:44):
Sinawa, Garon Catholic at Cascade, Greentown, Eastern green Town at Eastbrook, Trenton,
Central at Lapel Where do I star? South Butt at
Riverton park Land and Riverton Park's a great story Providence
at North Davies. There are some amazing championship matchups. One
of these teams are when it's all sitting down that

(40:07):
we mentioned here just seconds ago, are going to be
taking home the hardware and win the hardest trophy to
win in all of IHSAA championship scenarios. I'm excited about
the championship. Friday It's going to be special for our
kids across the Hoosier State.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Now you know why he's in the Hall of Fame.
He's the best at what he does. Paul Condrey has
always great job. Can't do it without you. Enjoy the
weekend and I'll look forward to spending time with you
next weekend to talk about sectional action around the state and.

Speaker 7 (40:43):
We could talk some college basketball next week. Coach excited about.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
Looking forward to it, looking forward to it. Thanks, have
a great weekend, Paul, Thanks for being with me.

Speaker 7 (40:53):
Thanks Coach god Buss.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
Thanks Paul.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Paul Condrey from the regional radio sports networking in the
Indiana Football dijest he is the best friend football has
in the state of Indiana. We're excited. Sectional championships coming
up on Friday night. Should be a lot of fun.
I encourage you to join us. This should be the

(41:18):
thirty second year we've covered it. Had some fun and
I love this time of year because we've got everything going.
World Series, college football, college basketball, high school football, basketball
starts soon, girls are playing it's now, it's this time
of year.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
It's a fantastic time. Scoreboard update coming up. This is
Indiana Sports Talk. Welcome back, everybody.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
This is Indiana Sports Talk. All right, we're going to
the man right now, Kurt Gerald's what's happening with Toronto
and the Dodgers.

Speaker 13 (42:03):
Baby, we are in the bottom of the fourth inning.
It is four to four Toronto with a chance to
walk it off, and a dangerous man is a batting
second when they are due up, and that's George Springer,
who is historically just incredible in the postseason. So it's
coming down to the wire here, m.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
So okay, memo with me. I need it.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
I need a TV on so I can watch this.
All right, Colts tomorrow one o'clock.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
What's uh? What's Kurt Gerald saying about this matchup?

Speaker 13 (42:36):
I think, as Corbyn said, we haven't won there since
two thousand and eight, and I think this has been
the year of the Colts breaking the bad trends, and
I think the Colts handle business easily against the Steelers tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
Easily means what I think we're touchdown.

Speaker 13 (42:54):
We're going to see some Riley Leonard minutes in the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
Okay, I get the message there.

Speaker 13 (43:05):
Corbyn shaking has headed me in there and he just
doesn't believe me.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
No win thirty five twenty eight Corbyn. Okay, okay, that's
a good call. One o'clock start now, Fellas. You do realize, Corbyn,
You do realize because you've done.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
It all night.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
We have the Sectional championships on Friday night. That doesn't
seem possible.

Speaker 1 (43:32):
It's already here, I know, coach.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
And we're getting ready to start talking about high school
basketball too. Can you believe that?

Speaker 6 (43:40):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (43:40):
Yeah, because I've got an iup, I've got an IU
Indie game coming up this week on Thursday night. I'm
back again as their analysts for their TV games, their
TV package, and.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
I have to work on Thursday, And so.

Speaker 6 (44:00):
I got it.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
You know, they're they're already playing college basketball obviously has
already begun.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
And it's uh you know, girls, girls are starting. Uh,
it's basketball. I love this time of year. You know,
World Series football, basketball? How much better can you get?
Quite frankly, if you're a sports fan, how do you
not love this time of year?

Speaker 4 (44:22):
You absolutely have to love this time of year.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
Yeah, and how about your Whiteland Warriors playing for a
sectional championship next next I mean Friday night, going for
the championship.

Speaker 4 (44:34):
Yeah, coach, it's an exciting time down there in the
good old little dot on the map called Whiteland, Indiana.
We're super excited Coach Bischer. I mean, you can never
count that guy out, even when they start the season
off a little slow.

Speaker 2 (44:47):
He's one of my favorites. Corbyn, great job tonight. Thank
you as always half fun Kurt Gerald's. Great job for you.
It's fun, wonderful to work with you too. I'm glad
and great full I had the opportunity to work with
you too on tonight, on this weekend shows and tonight
