Speaker 1 (04:57):
Welcome back everyone the Stockton High School football championships and
the sectionals. Tonight Harry Chills thirty eight eight winners over
Jasper with me from WAXL the one and only Steve Cole. Steve,
thanks so much for the call. Very business like, workmanlike
win for Hardy Chills tonight over Jasper.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
Yeah, a great win on the road. We're doing a
really fun old rivalry there, first time since twenty nineteen
those two teams had met. When Jason joined the Soutar
Indiana Athletic Conference, they no longer could play any non
conference games, so really fine to get that rivalry renewed
(05:37):
in a in a sectional game now that Haredy Chills
has moved up to Fast four A by success factor,
and they handled business tonight.
Speaker 6 (05:46):
Very well, as you mentioned.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
As hair to Chills scored on every possession they had
in the first half and then the first two of
the second half, and actually instituted a running on Jasper's
home field tonight. It was he was an impressive performance
for the Patriots. And it wasn't necessarily the Jake Goldsberry
show tonight.
Speaker 6 (06:10):
You know, he got dinged a little bit last week.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
He played the whole game tonight on offense, but it
was it was the supporting cast tonight. Dalton Pledger, a
senior running back, at his second consecutive one hundred yard
rushing night tonight, as he finished with one hundred and
seventeen yards on nineteen carries and a big switch and
(06:33):
momentum in this game, Kenny came right around the start
of the second quarter Jasper, after Hartagchill's had gone attend
to nothing. Jasper got the football and really mounted one
of their better drives of the game. Ended up being
a twelve plague drive, but the wildcatch faced fourth down
from the Heritage Till sixteen yard line and turned it
(06:54):
over on downs. On that fourth down play, Harita Hill
started at their own sixteen and on the fourth play
from there, on their ensuing drive, their second of a
two headed running back monster, Tys Winchel goes sixty yards
for a touchdown.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
So that turns into what could have been a you know.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
Ten to seven ball game of Jasper scores and instead
of seventeen to nothing just a few minutes later, that
was a huge turning point. Patriots would add another touchdown
before half and lead twenty four to nothing at halftime,
and then scored on each of their first two possessions
of the second half.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
Let's see what four, Let's see one. I can't even.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
Count tonight them on my home but I went three,
five rushing touchdowns and a field goal right for aarded
Chills through their first six possessions. They got the running clock,
turned it over to some second unit guys, and Jasper's
points finally came on a block punt with the second
unit punt team and a block punt return for a
(07:56):
touchdown in the fourth quarter when the game was already
he decided. So the Jasper offense turned it over on
downs five different times in the game, and several of
those were in the red zone. They just could not
find a way to punch points in as the Patriot
defense found stops and sixteen sectional championships in program history
(08:18):
for hair to Chills, but number one in Class four A after.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
Moving up this year. So it's a special one. We're
haired Chills in four A.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Well, you know it is, and it should be, and
I think it addresses how solid this football program is
to make that move. That's not an easy thing to do,
and clearly you have one of the best players in
the Staton Jet Goldsbury. But you also have a great
complimentary group of young men.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
It's an outstanding senior class around Jet. You got another
you know, high Division one player and Tyler Rutster who's
going to Oklahoma. Jet's going to Ole Miss. Those two
are fantastic, but there are so many other players on
this football team.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
It's a very complete.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
Football team offensively and defensively. They played extremely good, complimentary
football with offense, defense, and special teams and they make
it very hard on the opposition and is not a
bad jasper team tonight. Offensively, Jalen Manz, their quarterback is
good and he could do some things that offense moved
the ball, but ultimately they could not find a way
(09:27):
to put points on the board and Hareta Chills scored
every time they had it, and that makes it hard
on you when when you can't score it, you can't
you can't keep the other team out of the zone.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Right, Who will they play next week in the regional?
Speaker 5 (09:41):
They will be home with Martinsville back to back national champions.
You talking with their coach earlier, So that would a
team that got.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
Off maybe a little bit of a slow start on
the season.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
They're six and six, but clearly playing very good football
right now. That'll be a big test for Heritage Chills.
They get to go back home to the Jungle next
Friday night and see what they can do in a
four A regional in their first birth that deep into
the four A tournament.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Steve Coleban from WAXL on the call of Heritage Hills
thirty eight to eight win over Jasper. Steve, thanks so much.
We'll talk to you next week.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Thank you, coach.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Have a good evening, thanks so much. Coming up, scoreboard
update and then we're going to talk more ball with
coach Russ Radicky from Knox, Brian Sullivan from Wunas Tanner
kaff and the regional radio Sports Network. More very important
sectional championship calls and talk coming up after this scoreboard
(10:42):
update with Corbyn Wingoenfeld.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
I'm Corbynlinkbilter with this network. In the Enna school board updates,
Sectional six. That one belongs to the cater Central, winning
seventeen to fourteen over Lawrence Central. Sectional five that goes
to Brownsburg fifty three to twenty nine over a Von
Section four goes to Fishers twenty eight twenty over Himilton Southeastern,
and we needed overtime in Sectional three between Westfield and
(11:29):
Carmel and Westfield out last Carmel twenty three to twenty.
Sectional two that goes to Carol Fort Wayne forty two
to twenty three over Fort Wayne Northrope and in Sectional one,
Crown Point falls the Penn twenty eight to twenty four.
The Indiana Pacers are back in action tomorrow night. That
(11:51):
game will tip off at nine o'clock. Indiana is one
in seven on the year, one in four versus Western
Conference opponents, and they have a string of injuries. Andrew
Nemhart is questionable, Johnny Furfey is out, Quentin Jackson is out,
Cam Jones is out, Benedict Matherin is out, TJ McConnell
(12:11):
is out, and Obi Toppen is out. The likely starters
for Indiana tomorrow will be Ben Sheppard and aaron Ne
Smith and the guard positions Jars Walker and Pascal Siakam
in the forward positions and Isaiah Jackson will be playing center. Projectively.
Indiana also has made a transaction today. They signed guard
(12:32):
Monte Morris and in doing so, they waived Mac mcclum.
Also coming up on tomorrow's basketball slate, the Butler men's
basketball team is taking on AU Windy. That game will
tip off at five o'clock on for the winning filter.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Welcome back everyone on Bob Lovel This is Indiana Sports
Doock front you by Indiana Donor Network knocks forty eight
eighteen winners over marrying and Sectional action tonight with me
the Hall of Famer himself, the head coach of Knox,
Russ Radke coach, thanks so much of the call. Congratulations
on a sectional championship tonight.
Speaker 7 (13:25):
Really appreciate it. The U the young man come we
Knox is down one four sectionals in a row. That's
just unprecedent for us, right, I mean for Knox, Indie
right right to be where her at and to accomplish
these type of goals are phenomenal for that and I'm
really glad for the kids. That's all it's important. You know,
(13:47):
we got a pretty good football player too, There's no
doubt about it.
Speaker 8 (13:50):
With Miles McLaughlin.
Speaker 7 (13:54):
It doesn't hurt the times to night for three hundred
and eighty three yards.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Three ikes, yikes. I mean it's a commonplace for you.
But three hundred and eighty three yards sectional championship. What
more do you want this young guy to do for you, coach?
Speaker 7 (14:11):
Well, he kicks off, he'll kick extra points, and he
scores twoper conversions. He plays defense. He's a he's a man.
He's on a plane leaving this morning heading out to
I believe South Dakota State or one of those out
there for recruiting opportunities. So you know, he's a man.
(14:31):
But he's got some great players with him. And for
him to now have four three ninety four year yards
this year, four thousand, three hundred and ninety four yards
this year rushing and he's averaging ten point seven yards
for cure, I just can't believe it myself.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
I can't either.
Speaker 7 (14:54):
There's a lot of young outhers the other boys to
carry the ball to and get in the yard. He
don't get me wrong. It's an option run and so
forth like that. But when he gets hungry, he might
pull a little bit more often than he should. But
he definitely provides an environment for us, and then our
defense as hard as they're playing right now, is phenomenal
because you scored that many touchdowns and the points. You're
(15:16):
out there on defense quite often, and I got to
give it to the young men that are playing on
the defensive side that are able to do a great
job for us. Our linebackers, Brian Corcia I had four
solos and four assists. Kane Webber at two and three
(15:38):
in east and Minis whenever down defensive lineman was one
and four, and then Kinder and our outside linebackers each
had a total of four.
Speaker 8 (15:47):
So there's a lot.
Speaker 7 (15:49):
Of defense being played too. So it's something exciting right
now our community. Hey, we get to play a home
next week. That's all I care who.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
You play at home? Who you playing next week?
Speaker 7 (16:02):
We're playing Angola that was over in the Fort Wayne area.
I understand she had an onside kick to recover a ball,
ran one play, take a field goal to win it,
So it could have been very easily the other way.
But uh we we appreciate our opponent Mishwaalker Marion may
(16:22):
not have the record that they would like to have
all year long, but boy were they tough. They were,
they were aggressive and care Matis did what they do
football wise, Mishwaalker Marion, and you know what their football
is like, and so uh, it's surely something for Knox
to uh be excited about it. And as they said,
for them to now have won four sexual championships in
(16:43):
a row is uh is instant exciting as as well
as anywhere. You know.
Speaker 8 (16:49):
Right now we're down to eight schools.
Speaker 7 (16:51):
Left, you know, right and and and in all levels,
and so as a result of that, you got it.
There's a lot of luck involved in sol for but
when you can play and work as hard as our
kids do right now in the community and the crowd
that we have, we're just glad that we're at home.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
It's another big win for Knocks tonight. They'd beat Mischie
Walker Marion from forty eight eight? What was the final score? Coach,
I can't even read my own.
Speaker 7 (17:21):
Writing, forty eight eighteen forty eight. The game pretty well
controlled at halftime already h up thirty two to six,
shut both teams out in the second a third quarter,
but we came up with two more touchdowns. Uh, you know,
we go for two a lot, because if you touchdowns,
what would if you just scored three touchdowns and get
(17:44):
every two point conversion, you're almost going to get an
their touchdown with three more tests, right, you know what
I'm saying. So you get that extra point and and
that's kind of what.
Speaker 8 (17:53):
We do right now. It's only three yards.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Right right, that's rad key. Thanks, thank so much for
the call, coach. I appreciate it. Good luck next week.
I know we're gonna be talking. I hope we're talking
next week. Thanks so much.
Speaker 7 (18:07):
All right, take care of everybody.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Thank you. Tanner Camp joins me from the regional radio
Sports Network. He has the Pen twenty eight to twenty
four win over Crown Point in one of the premier
games in the state. Tanner, thanks to the call. What
an exciting night. What a great win for Penn tonight.
Speaker 9 (18:25):
Oh oh, Bob, trust me when you said premiere games,
you're absolutely right, and for premiere wins for Penn.
Speaker 8 (18:30):
Coach.
Speaker 9 (18:30):
How about the last two seasons for the Kings and
they've been knocked out of the postseason tournament by the
Crownpoint Bulldogs. They lost in twenty twenty three in the
regional championship at Penn thirty four to thirty three. Then
last year they lost thirty four zero Osswood Penn. So
to say this is a side of relief for Pete
Ridan's group would be the understavement of the century. And
this started out with freshman A. J. Summers, who's going
(18:51):
to be a really talented player for Crownpoint. First play
for the scrimmage. How about the freshman a sixty eight
yard touchdown run to give Crownpoint the seven zero lead.
And then Landon Hall coach, he now has over two
thousand passing yards. He came into this ballgame with a
seventy five percent passing completion. He goes to Colden Hernandez
for the forty five yard touchdown to make it seven
(19:12):
to seven after the first quarter. And then Buddy Hurley,
the number one target for Pen offensively gets the twenty
six yard catch from Landon Hall and it was fourteen
to seven at the half. But tell you what back
and forth game between these two teams, both undefeated, both
with ten wins, and in the end, it's Mason Bernaki
who finishes the game. With a minute and twelve seconds
(19:33):
left in the ballgame. He gets a thirty two yard
touchdown pass to win the ballgame. Actually won forty seven
in the fourth quarter. When that happens, and coach Landon Hall,
keep an eye on this kid. How about tonight twenty
one of twenty nine passing for a three hundred and
thirty one yards and three touchdowns including two touchdowns for
(19:53):
Mason Bernaki ten catches for one hundred and fifty yards
and Buddy Hurley six catches for eighty seven yards and
a touchdo down. And so this is a Penn team.
You can tell they've been wanting the Sexual Championship, especially
to get over Crown Point the last couple of years.
And so big, big win for Pete Reardan's group. He
is a Sexual Championship coach for the first time in
his young coaching career. He has certainly made former Penn
(20:15):
football legends, Chris Ki's and Choreoman very very proud.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Tanner Camp from the Regional Radio Sports Network on the
PIN twenty eight to twenty four win over Crown Point. Tanner,
thanks so much for the call. Have a great weekend, coach,
You do the same thing.
Speaker 9 (20:31):
Can't wait to talk to you next week. And I've
always thanks for all that you do for Indiana High
school athletics.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
We keep it in the family with the regional radio
sports network. Paul Condrey joins me the man himself fall,
thanks so much for your time. You have tonight, you
have who do you have tonight?
Speaker 10 (20:54):
I have a Michigan City twenty eight to twenty one
way Yeah, yeah, that's hard. A big win for this
Michigan City team winning the school's four sectional championship. Had
done this sometime now, but it was a tail of
two halves. Michigan City jumped out to a twenty one
lead at halftime and just seemed to have it on
(21:15):
cruise control, but Austin Eppel's Laporte's team decided something was
totally different. They come roaring back in the second half
to score twenty one on answer points and it was six.
Speaker 8 (21:28):
Minutes to go in the game.
Speaker 10 (21:29):
Michigan City seize control of the football game, scoring a touchdown,
but it was Reid dreaming the big story. Forty seven
rushes tonight, one hundred and eighty seven yards. He was
big tonight for this scrappy laport team that finishes the
season with four wins and seven losses. But it was
too much Michigan City hanging up bracket up three hundred
(21:51):
and fifty three yards. One buggaboo for Michigan City is
that they helped the Laport's cause throughout the course of
the evening by committing nine penalties for ninety yards. So
this Michigan City team, led by Trenhart, the outstanding young
junior quarterback, he's going to have his hands full next
week because they're going to have the A All Duelin
(22:12):
Conference Regional Championship in five A as they'll take on the
Marraville Pirates, who, of course, who have ruled the roost
in the northern half of the five A tournament series
the last few years. So should be a good one
next week at Picture s Amesfield when Maryville.
Speaker 8 (22:29):
Comes to Collins.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Paul Condrey and I will talk tomorrow night about tonight's
action recap that look at the regionals. Tonight he has
to call the Michigan City's twenty eight twenty one win
over Laport. Paul is always thanks so much. We'll talk
to you tomorrow night.
Speaker 8 (22:46):
Thanks guach gobus.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Coming up scoreboard update and then Brian Sullivan from w
NAS will join me and we'll talk about Floyd.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Welcome back everybody, Christmas. Indiana Sports Talk. Senator Groves ranking
number three in the Indian Football Coaches Association poll. Tonight
they beat Franklin Central to win their sectional thirty to
twenty seven. Is the final with me Senator Grove's head coach,
Eric Moore, coach, thanks for the call and congratulations on
a great win tonight.
Speaker 11 (25:23):
Hey Bob, great to hear your voice longtime listener, first
time caller.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
That's well done.
Speaker 8 (25:32):
We've been I feel like I've been on a bus
forever and we never can get I don't know. I
apologize now.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
I understand that.
Speaker 8 (25:39):
Out of state trips.
Speaker 11 (25:40):
Out of state trips put us behind a lot of stuff,
but I do appreciate you.
Speaker 8 (25:45):
I tried to listen. So yeah, I'm a great football game.
Speaker 11 (25:48):
Got to take our hats off to Franklin Center. Really
came out well prepared, well coached, and their kids play
the heck of a game tonight, and we were lucky
to get a win. But you know, you gotta do
what you got to do and go on.
Speaker 8 (26:01):
It's all about getting to the next step. And you
know that. Hope this was tonight.
Speaker 11 (26:06):
It was our fifteenth straight sectional win in our in
our twentieth ten win season in twenty six years.
Speaker 8 (26:13):
So our kids set some records tonight. Appreciate their efforts.
We just got to clean.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
Some things up.
Speaker 8 (26:19):
I didn't play well, but we'll be back all right.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
So is it dramatic enough that you have to kick
a field goal or how do you eventually win this game?
Speaker 8 (26:30):
Uh?
Speaker 11 (26:30):
No, we we uh you know, stopped them on a
fourth down play and made it a short field and
and and and scored another touchdown to actually go up
thirty to twenty with the men to go, and then
they just wouldn't stop and they threw the bomb and
I got a score with about forty seconds to go,
and I had Day on site kick and we recovered
and the game is over.
Speaker 8 (26:49):
But uh, it's just a fact.
Speaker 11 (26:51):
That, you know, we got out to a seventeen to
nothing the lead, and they fought back and then we
would get back out. Yeah, Franklon Cipy will come back.
Their kids just they they were really diligent about playing
a great fotball game tonight, and last week they came
back and had a big win in the section opener.
I think a parlater right into them and our kids.
In the last couple of weeks, we didn't play teams
that made us work like this, and it showed tonight.
(27:14):
Our schedule was really hard during the year, and the
bye week sort of saved this. And God is healthy.
We got to get back on track and we got
to do it fast. Now we're glad to be in
the Elite eight and it's fun to win.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Yeah, it is fun to win. So who stood out
in your mind. Who played well tonight for you?
Speaker 11 (27:35):
Well, the defense gave up some big plays, but in
most parts they did a great job controlling the football game.
Speaker 8 (27:41):
But I'll say our kicker, kicker and punter is the
same kid corn Post.
Speaker 11 (27:48):
He had a couple of really great field goals, three
five year old field goals, and some outstanding punting.
Speaker 8 (27:54):
You know, our quarterback Oscar Sloan did a.
Speaker 11 (27:55):
Great job at you know, hitting, some people got roughed
up a little bit on a couple called lake plays,
hung in there, and Ricky lang or sophomore telback then
another great job tonight. And our offensive line probably was
a difference.
Speaker 8 (28:08):
When we need to go down and get a big score,
we can. But it was a lot of a lot
of young guys.
Speaker 11 (28:13):
Again, we've lost we lost our best two defensive players,
our best five offensive players, and we got all these
young kids and we're still going on at this shows
say in high school football, if you've got a good.
Speaker 8 (28:24):
Defense and you've got a good offensive line, you can
hang in there. And we got good quarterbacks.
Speaker 11 (28:27):
So our young our young running backs are they're still
alive and we're still kicking.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
But there's not many left who are you playing next week.
Speaker 11 (28:36):
We have Warren Central in the annual regional at Rascom
the Stadium.
Speaker 8 (28:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
I was just gonna say I've heard of that game. Yeah, yeah,
Well tonight Eric Moore in the senegro of Trojans advanced.
They beat Franklin Central thirty to twenty seven. Coach, thanks
for calling me. Always enjoy talking to you. In best
of luck to your kids next week.
Speaker 8 (29:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (29:01):
We just always got to keep in consideration how lucky
we are and how blessed we are to be able
to coach and as kids, kids getting to play in
these games, and you know, we try to remind our
kids how lucky we are. Just feel real fortunate that
we've had a great run in the last twenty six years,
and just so happy.
Speaker 8 (29:17):
With the people in the community and the way they
enjoy football. We can't let high school football go, and
everybody out there listens, going to keep working hard in
our community.
Speaker 11 (29:25):
Keep it's the last thing, man, It's the last game,
and it's the last thing that keeps a lot of
these young men right, you know, in course in life
to deal with all the challenges that we have.
Speaker 8 (29:36):
And sometimes I know I forget about that too much
and think about wins and losses.
Speaker 11 (29:40):
We really need to worry about man. These guys are
becoming young men. They are going to be great citizens,
and they're football players. So congratulations everybody that played the
game this year.
Speaker 8 (29:49):
Not only just one, but played the game. And congratulate
obviously to all the guys that won tonight, and welcome
to the lead eight. It's a fun place to be.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
Eric, thanks to the call. Good luck next week.
Speaker 8 (30:01):
Thank you, Bob.
Speaker 11 (30:01):
Appreciate all you new for high school sports, especially football.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
I appreciate it. Thank you very much. Floyd Central moves on.
Floyd Central beat Evansville North to Night fifteen to ten.
W nas is Brian Sullivan joins me coach. Coach Brian,
thanks for the call. It's a good solid win for
Floyd tonight.
Speaker 12 (30:22):
Oh it was not what we anticipated this game being
really well. Evansville North came in sixth game winning streak,
averaging forty one points in that stretch. Floyd's on an
eight game winning streak averaging forty eight points. So I
think the expectation naturally was we're going to have a shootout.
(30:44):
But I'll tell you what. The fog settled on that field.
Oh you couldn't see it, and of course they were
running everything to the far sideline from the press box, right.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
So you can make up anything, you right, Oh my heaven.
Speaker 12 (31:02):
And it winds up being a fifteen to ten ballgame,
and it's a defensive struggle and special teams plays and
it was.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
A great ballgame.
Speaker 12 (31:13):
It's just not the ballgame that people anticipated based on
how they had gotten.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
This was there consideration of somehow postponing it, and because
of the conditions. I mean, it's hard to play when
you can't see. I think everyone knows.
Speaker 12 (31:26):
No, I don't remember the referees ever having that discussion.
And we just kept thinking it was going to get better.
But even before game time we're looking at the soccer
field broughtly behind us and just, oh my gosh. If
this wraps around, we're going to have issues that the
ball was slick, and you know, that's tournament football.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
You're going to have to be your conditions.
Speaker 8 (31:45):
A point along the way.
Speaker 12 (31:47):
And we've been spoiled by really good weather on Friday nights,
most of them.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Haven't we Yeah, no, no, we have. You know, Paul
Condrey and I for years host you know, we host
the Bearing Show and and he loves to and I
think he's right. When he first said it, I thought
he was crazy. He believes that winning a football sectional
(32:11):
championships the hardest championship to win in high school sports.
And what you're talking about whether it is a factor,
I mean, it becomes a factor. You know, it's it's
no member, we know what We don't know what the
weather is in Indiana, in no womber, you have no
way of knowing you're gonna you don't know whether you're
gonna be on the road where they're gonna be at home. Grading, period.
(32:34):
All these kinds of things, all these factors over which
you have no control, are right there. To it's hard
enough to win, let alone have to deal with those factors.
Speaker 12 (32:43):
Well yeah, I mean you got to give the kids
the credit for being able to play through that and
battle right.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
To the end.
Speaker 12 (32:49):
And you know, Floyd, Floyd was at home and.
Speaker 8 (32:52):
Took advantage of that.
Speaker 12 (32:53):
And they'll survive in advance and have another tough one
next week, I'm sure.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
All right, So fifteen to ten, what's the When did
they get the separation that they need? When did they
actually score the game winners?
Speaker 12 (33:08):
You know, they they were down ten to three, and
I got to say, right at the end of the
first half, Evonsville North had the bought five yard line
opted to go for it instead of take the field goal,
and Floyd stopped them and that was a big play.
And then Floyd actually blocks of punts into the end
zone and recovers it to cut it back to ten
(33:29):
to nine. They also blocked a field goal attempt that
kept North from getting some separation. And there at the
end they went to a wildcat formation and Jackson Stone
had runs of seventeen, twenty five and forty two yards.
Wile to get him downfield, Sebastian Robertson. They Evmsville North.
He's been over one hundred yards every game this year.
(33:51):
They really bottled him up. But he gets the go
ahead touchdown and then they get a stop on the
final position for the wins.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Don't know who do they play next week.
Speaker 12 (34:02):
I was told that Bloomington South came back and got
past Bloomington North thirty one twenty eight, So it'll be
Floyd heading to Bloomington take on the Panthers.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Right right, all right, that'll be fun. The man himself,
Brian Sullivan from WNAS Floyd Central fifteen to ten winners
over Evansville North. Thanks for holding for me, Palell, I
appreciate it. Have a great weekend, all right, coach talking
to thanks so much. Coming up, we have more football
(34:35):
more to talk about. Corbyn Lingoennfelter. Final scoreward update of
the night. This is Network Indiana's Indiana Sports song.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
This Indiana Sports Talk scoreboard update is brought to you
by Quality Supply and Tool in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Jefferson, Villa Lafayette,
Think outside the Box Store Quality Supply and toool dot Com.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
I'm Coolben lekom Belter with this Network Indianna scoreboard update.
Final update of the night. Let's look ahead to your
sports schedule for tomorrow. Number two Indiana is at Penn
State starting at noon. In college football, Purdue is taking
on number one Ohio State at laon a. Number ten,
Notre Dame is facing Navy at seven thirty. Butler will
(35:38):
be at Moreheads State at one o'clock. Hanover is facing
Audubonne at one thirty. Manchester is facing Mount Saint Joseph
at one thirty as well. Anderson is at Roseholman at
two o'clock. Franklin College faces Bluffton at one thirty you.
Indy faces Southwest Baptist at two o'clock, and on Senior Day,
(36:00):
Taylor hosts Sienna Heights at one o'clock. Indiana Wesleyan faces
Lawrence Tech at noon for their Senior Day and number
seven Marion takes on Judson one oh five. Coming up
tomorrow as well, the Indiana Pacers are in Denver to
face the Nuggets at nine o'clock tomorrow night. Indiana is
(36:20):
one in seven on the season, one in four versus
Western Conference teams. The injury report, though, is pretty long,
Andrew Demhart is questionable. Those who will be out include
Johnny Furphy, Quinton Jackson, Cam Jones, Benedict Matherin, TJ McConnell,
and Obi Toppin. Again, the Facers will tip off against
the Denver Nuggets at nine o'clock tomorrow. Coming up on Sunday,
(36:44):
it's an international game for the Indianapolis Colts as they
take on the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin, Germany. Kickoff will
be at nine to thirty am. The Colts currently said
as number one seed in the AFC with a seven
and two record.
Speaker 4 (36:59):
I'm corpidly you coach.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Welcome back everybody. What a great night, What a great,
great night of high school football. Congratulations to all of
those schools who are advancing, And as coach Radkey pointed out, congratulations,
I mean coach More pointed out, congratulations to everyone. If
if you didn't win tonight, congratulations on the effort and
(37:36):
you and your teammates and coaches to go through the
riggers and do the things that are necessary, the sacrifices
you have to make and your families have to make
to be involved in this, and that's that's a part
of what makes high school sports such a fun thing
to do, all right, Corbyn Lingenfeldt, a great job tonight.
(37:57):
Lots of fun, lots of fun games to report on tonight.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
You had, coach, we had a couple overtime games, a
bunch of really close games. Yeah, and of course you
had maybe one or two blowouts.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
You know, you get this far and sometimes you know
you're surprised by scores. I think a lot of times
what you have is strength of schedule begins to show
itself at this particular time of year. Plus you know,
great players and great coaches certainly doesn't hurt.
Speaker 7 (38:28):
But it was.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
It was interesting to hear here Brian Sullivan talk about
fog down on the river. I mean, I understand fogg
to the lake effect. You know, if you're up in
the region and you got the lake effect, that that
would make sense to me. But fog rolling in literally
off of the Ohio River, it makes a game.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
Hard to play, Yeah, coach, It makes it hard to see.
It makes it hard to run the football, especially because
when you usually have big running lanes, sometimes at fog
it's in your way and you got a linebacker that
crashes down on you at the last second, so you
don't get a chance to cut.
Speaker 7 (39:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
The cool part about being able to host this show
is is to have those conversations with people, and so
you know when you get the phone call and you
know the team is going, you know they won, and
they're they're gonna they're gonna go downtown and celebrate heavily
enough big caravan through town. I will forever think one
(39:29):
of my most fun interviews I've ever done was the
superintendent of North White High School. Well when they won
the state championship this and I hadn't been on the
air very long and he calls me. The superintendent calls
me right so the call screener Superintendent North White, and
I'm thinking, number one, I don't I don't know the
(39:50):
guy's name. And number two, Uh, I mean it's the
first superintendent. I mean normally I obviously talked to coaches
and media people. And so I've got the superintendent on
the line, and and it I can I can barely
hear him. And so I said, I said, so tell
me where are you right now? He says, we are
on the courthouse square and I'm on the fire truck. Okay,
(40:15):
he is on the fire truck. He and the whole team,
the coaches and cheerleaders and everybody. They're piled on the
fire truck, uh, driving around the Courthouse Square and celebrating
the state championship win. And then you stop and you
start to put that in perspective, and you're thinking, man,
(40:36):
oh man, most important night of the year, probably one
of the greatest days in the history of the North
White School Corporation. And they're taking time to call my
radio show, which is one of the reasons why I've
I've enjoyed it as long as I have. And you know,
those kinds of calls like tonight, you know, hearing about
and they're they're they're going down and this was the
(40:57):
Lebanon coach. And you know I, as everyone knows, I
was born in Lebanon, So yeah, I can appreciate that
that was that's that's a lot of fun. And it's
always good to hear about Miles McLaughlin going for three
hundred and eighty three yards tonight, and uh, it's phenomenal
(41:17):
what he's been able to do.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
It definitely has coach and I look forward to seeing
that young man play on Saturdays coming up next.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
Ball, so do I.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
I don't believe he's made a decision, but whatever it'll be,
I'm sure it'll be a great one. Corbyn, thanks for
you think, great night, Great night, Stay with me. We
got we got a couple more segments to roll in,
so stay with me. We're back after the short break,
final break, final thoughts. This is Network Indiana's Indiana Sports Talk.
(42:07):
Last time you don't forget Tomorrow night. I loved that.
I love Friday night. Friday nights have always been fun
for thirty two years now and they've they've captured my
life and I love the energy. I love the excitement
of Friday night, especially during a tournament. Time, and that's
(42:29):
why you know, nights like tonight are so much fun,
and why next week with the regionals will be equally fun.
Clearly fewer games, but we all understand the stakes get
higher and higher as we go. But that's why you
Saturday's become They're a different night for us, and so
if you haven't had a chance to join us on
the Saturday night, I encourage you to do that. It's
(42:51):
a little different pace, so to speak. So for example,
you know, tonight we had twenty calls, which is about
about right for what we do on Friday nights. Last
week we had twenty six. So I know those numbers
don't mean anything to all of you, but I mean
a great deal to me. So Saturday night is a
different pace, but it's a lot more focused on college sports.
(43:16):
We're at that time of year, and I think is
wonderful where we have the convergence of high school and
college football and basketball, where we're all really you know,
we're now we have college basketball. I did a game
last night for ESPN Plus with I U p U.
I excuse me, I you Indy are you Indian Long
(43:41):
Island University l i U? And so Rick Johnson and
I did dead game and it was a fun game.
The Jags brand new coach and Ben Hallett, and they
are they running the system where it's ninety four feet,
you pray, you run, you try to take as many
(44:04):
threes as you can. Those kinds of things. It's fun
to watch. They played, I thought played very well first
time out, literally brand new roster, same thing with l
i u Rod Strickland, former NBA star as their coach.
It was a fun night. Loved the opportunity. But it's
just one of those things where it's a different deal.
(44:27):
It's fun, but you have college football tomorrow, you have
college basketball, you have high school sports. If girls basketball
getting started this week, everybody's having a good time, having fun.
Obviously everyone knows Thanksgiving vacation, Thanksgiving holiday, we start to
play boys basketball, get the state finals in football in
(44:50):
a wonderful, wonderful time. So if you haven't gone out
and supported your local student athletes, you need to do it.
You're running out of time. I use it. Penn State
tomorrow night. Becuse me tomorrow at one o'clock. Last States
at Purdue tomorrow afternoon. Notre Dame taking on the Navy
tomorrow night. Illinois State's at Indiana State, Butler at Moorhead State,
(45:10):
San Diegoo, vapo You, Indi at Southwest Baptist. That's football
basketball tomorrow. If Butler is hosting IU Indy, it should
be a lot of fun. My thanks to Corbyn Lingolnfelter
and Ethan Patterson. Great job, gentlemen. Thanks also to our
great stations around the state that bring you the show
(45:32):
every Friday and Saturday night for thirty one years. You've
made us the most listened to sports talk show in
the state's history. It is the history making legendary network,
Indiana's Indiana Sports Talk
