Speaker 1 (00:00):
Fourteen over Fishers Tonight, the number one club in five
days New Palestine, they roll past Penalton Knights forty two
to six, even though Pendleton is having their own success
on the year. They are ranked number six in Class
four A, so that's a quality win for the Dragons.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Four A number one.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Heritage Hills no issue with Washington forty nine to seven.
It was Adam Central slight issue with Heritage the number
one team in two way, though Adam Central did pull
it off fourteen to seven. Passed Heritage tonight and then
number one in Class A. That's North de cator A
twenty seven to nothing, shutout of Switzerland County scores continuing
(00:39):
to roll into the studio tonight, Let's touch on oh
Kills victory over Frankton thirty four to fifteen was the
final Pioneer got past North Miami forty one to twenty two.
It was Plymouth by a penny tonight over Wawa See
twenty one to twenty. As that one went down to
the wire. Tippecanoe Valley held court by ten over Laville
(01:00):
thirty eight to twenty eight. Trton Central over Speedway Tonight
twenty one to ten. It was Winchester shutting out Union
County fifty three to nothing, North Posey blew up Pike
Central forty nine to six, and Pokemon Nope.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Talking high school football tonight. Lots of things going on.
We are certainly glad you're here. Week number five. I
just want to remind you. Hard for me to make
this admission, but we have this pairing show coming up
on October the twelfth. Paul Condrey and I will be
(01:38):
back for some crazy reason. They've asked us to come back.
So that's coming up on October the twelfth.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
So be ready for that. Time is to be determined.
We still we don't have that, but I'll tell you
what we have. We have.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Steve Olry from Indiana igh school Sports dot com. Triton
Central tonight a twenty one to ten winner over Speedway.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Steve, thanks so much for the call.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Good solid win for a Triton team is putting some
things together.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Yeah right, Bob. They're five and zero now, but you
know it's hard to believe, but they trailed at halftime.
It was ten to seven Speedway at the half. Tryton
had scored early, but then their offense kind of stalled
and Speedway took advantage of some penalties and mistakes and
took the lead into the half. But Trighton Central controlled
the second half. They control time of possession, the quarterback
(02:30):
Matthew Wilkins for two touchdown passes, their defense really shut
the Speedway offense down, and coach Tint Maples team got
out with the win.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
So tell me.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
I mean, Tim's teams have always been such that they
don't beat themselves, they don't make mistakes, not a lot
of penalties.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
They're a hard nose, fundamentally sound group.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Clearly gonna win you a whole lot of games, Yeah,
for sure, and that's what we expected tonight.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
They did make some mistakes tonight, they several penalties. In fact,
one of the plays in the first half that really
turned the momentum was the roughing the punter play that
gave Speedway new life on the drive and they ended
up turning that drive into points and that tied the game.
And then they ended up kicking a field goal as
the half expired to take some momentum into the locker room.
(03:19):
But I'm sure coach Able got after him at half
time and they played much better in the second half,
and the second half went much more like we expected
the entire game to go and the Tigers got.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
To win, all right, So tell me during the broadcast
or at the end, who's your player of the game,
if you will. And some other guys who had good
nights on both sides.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Well, you know, Matthew Wilkins, the quarterback, you know, he
had a good night. He came into the game with
two touchdown passes on the season, and he threw two
more tonight to two different receivers. He did a really
nice job on the second one of stepping up in
the pocket to avoid pressure. And Braydon Brown another guy
who the guy who leads him in rushing. He averages
(04:01):
about ninety yards a game on the ground. He took
him a while to get things going, but he made
some big runs in the second half. Also made some
play defensively at linebacker. So those two guys really stood out.
Also a guy named Dallas Cart not the same guy
that used to play for the Colts, but he's a
defensive lineman. He had a couple of sacks tonight, was
really big getting some pressure on the speedway quarterback logan
(04:23):
logan more.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
All right, So who's up next for both these teams?
Speaker 4 (04:28):
So Speedways back on the road next week. They're still
in conference play the New Hoo's Your Legends Conference. They
go to Monrovia next week and Strid Central heads home
and it'll be a battle of Tigers against eleven and
Tigers next week.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Sounds like a great matchup on both sides.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Steve Ollry from Indiana High School Sports dot Com on
the call of Triton Central's twenty one to ten win
over Speedway.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Steve, thanks so much for the call.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Have a great weekend, get too, Bob, Thank you, Thank
you very much. October the twelfth, again for the pairing show.
Paul Condrey and I'm back. I wish I knew how
many years we'd done it. I just know we've done
it a while, and I'm not you know, I'm not
trying to downplay it. We're excited about the opportunity. So
(05:16):
that is right around the corner quite frankly. All right,
Brendan King, what do you have for me? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (05:22):
What do you want to know?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Notre Dame?
Speaker 3 (05:24):
You grew up a Notre Dame fan live in South
Ben tell me what's going on?
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Got a match up? Everybody up there is getting nervous.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
They've already you know, last week's loss didn't help them
any They can't afford any more losses, and there's a
whole lot of football to be played.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yeah, And as you and I talked about off the
air before the show, it's kind of like watching Deja Vu,
but it's a totally different movie. It's like equal right
where last year it's a totally different situation where you're
one and one. You get a road win against Texas
A and M you lose to Northern Illinois and probably
that Northern on and oh loss feels worse than the
ry losses combined between Miami and A and M at home.
(06:02):
But still there are some differences. Coach, you have a
younger quarterback here and CJ. Carr as opposed to a
veteran and Riley Letard from last year. I would say
the defense is not as dynamic as talented as it
was a year ago. But basically, coach the same. If
you're talking movies and you're talking a solution to the
problem in a movie, the solution is the same exact thing.
(06:23):
You gotta win out And thankfully Marcus Freeman is at
the helm of that ship and he led that Notre
Dame team last year to winning out and going to
the national championship. So yeah, we'll see. But it's gonna
be a challenge. You know, Purdue coming in, they play hard.
I've got a little audio from both Barry Otam and
Marcus Freeman coming up for the top of the hour update,
and you know, Barry Odam's gonna have his guys ready.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
I think I think he absolutely will. You know, I
think this is you know, there the proch has to be.
I would think if you're produced, this is an opportunity
to make.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
A statement, make a big statement.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
And so I think you got a lot of dynamics
that work against one another in this matchup tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
No doubt.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
I mean, you know, I know you don't get into
the Vegas effect. I don't either, But Notre Dame's a
twenty four and a half point favorite. And I'm not
a guy that looks at the spread all too often,
but twenty four and a half points, that's.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
A lot of points points.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Especially for Notre Dame to cover, especially when they just
got out of that war against Texas A and r
I finished with a field goal, right, So that's a
ton of points. I would think Purdue would be in
that range. Again, Notre Dame absolutely crushed him last year.
Totally different Perdue team. But hey, we'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
See, I don't.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
I mean, I'm not a wagering kind of guy, and
I'm not either. If I'm gonna if I'm gonna wager money,
I'm calling my stockbroker.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
So I'm not.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
You and me can meet up, we can have lunch,
we can talk some stoff.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
But I acknowledge that the odds makers are unbelievably accurate.
They're really I mean, I understand this is what they do,
but they're you know, twenty four points when that's an
astonishing number, But they're you know, I think percentage wise
more often than not, they're close to where they want
(08:12):
the predictions so to speak, that they have and so.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Give them their due. I think that's kind of interesting.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
All right, Brendan King coming up with a school board
update here and.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Not too long top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
They have a lot of football to talk about, a
whole lot of football to talk about. Big Day and
college football tomorrow will talk about that, plus week number
five on the high school football season. This is Network
Indiana's Indiana Sports Talk
