in a high school football Week two well underway and
the final scores are already coming in. Alexandria gets a
fifty four to fourteen win over Sheridan. Leo twenty one
to six over Angola, South Adams, shutting out Belmont fifty
(00:37):
three nothing and Casting shouting out, shouting out, shutting out
North White. I should say fifty five to nothing, Clinton
Purray fifty zero over Frankfurt. Looking down the list here
we have tipped in forty eight to nothing over Elwood,
Fort Wayne Blackhawk. He takes down Southern Wales fifteen to twelve,
Frontier fifty four to twenty one over Winnimack. Greenfield Central
(00:57):
gets a thirty four to twenty one win over Greensborough.
Taylor gets a big win over Greended Christian sixty three
to eight. Looking down the list here Scottsburgh twenty one
to fourteen over North Harrison Lewis cast forty three to
thirteen over Northfield. Northview shuts out Speedway forty nine to nothing,
Penalton Heights thirty four zero over Gary Catholic Columbia City
(01:18):
gets a thirty five to thirteen.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
Win over Plymouth.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
And looking down the list here we have Typical Valley
seven to two over Rochester, North Miami forty seven to
fourteen over Wabash, and Western thirty seven to six over
North Montgomery. We'll have more scores were as the night
goes on. For Network Indiana Sports, Almana Coons.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Helkme back everybody. He's a busney night of high school
of football. Every fifteen minutes you're going to hear the
land in couns with the school board update.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Also at the top of the hour you'll have a
five minute school board update. So if you miss that
throughout the night, yeah, you're gonna miss some of those scores.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
High school football tonight.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
We started off with Nathaniel Finch from the Indiana sr N.
He has Franklin, the Franklin Community Cubs beating Mount Vernon
tonight twenty seven thirteen. Nathaniel, thanks to the Call, Thanks
for all your great work on the show. And how
about my cubs tonight?
Speaker 6 (02:20):
Yeah, your cubs are now two to oh coach twenty
seven to thirteen.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
You heard that score.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
It was a tight one seven nothing heading into the break.
But boy, I thought that Chris Call was going to
lead an offensive masterclass heading into this game. Seven nothing
two minutes in. I mean, they just marched down the
field in four plays and scored and then we had nothing.
It was just punts three and ounce turnovers on downs.
It was kind of a brutal showing of offense for
both teams throughout the rest of the first half.
Speaker 7 (02:44):
The opposite and half number.
Speaker 6 (02:46):
Two, Mount Vernon tied it up just a few plays
into the second half, similar to the way that Franklin
scored a few plays into the first half and they
just went back and forth. Then Franklin scored on three
straight drives, three straight two play drive, an eighty seven
yard touchdown, a pair of touchdown runs and just ran
off with it. We got a late score for Mount Vernon,
but Franklin looked great after halftime.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Well, it's a good matchup two pretty good football teams.
It's encouraging to hear that. Offensively, cubs are able to
put points on the board. So tell me who steps
up and plays well for Franklin Community tonight.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
Corey Tonty, who's going to be a great running back
as a junior for the squad this year. He had
three touchdowns coach, which is more than he had all
of last season.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
He played very well today.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
He's a big, lumbering guy, weighs two hundred pounds, but man,
he's shifty and he could just run some guys over. Also,
the quarterback, Grayson Betsy is a senior. This is his
year to lead Franklin to a winning season, one they
haven't had in three years. And he looked good as
a dual threat guy. He can air the ball out
and he could just pick up his tough, tough yards
on the ground.
Speaker 7 (03:53):
He was impressive.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Did good work for Mount Vernon tonight in this loss.
Speaker 6 (03:58):
There was some good work right, so this wasn't a blowout.
It's still a fun game. Mason Meyer tried to do
it all at quarterback. He's got some good receivers to
throw to you, but not one star. So he's making
a lot happen. He's a dual threat to quarterback. Listen,
Mason Meyer, the quarterback also returns kicks. So this is
a guy you know, he is athletic. You know, he's
the star of this Marauders team. He looked good, he
(04:19):
looked good. He threw a couple of touchdown passes, but
just wasn't enough today.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Who's up next for both teams?
Speaker 6 (04:26):
Well, Mount Vernon heads to Greenfield Central. It's on the
road to start conference play there in the Who's Your
Heritage Conference. And then for Franklin they're also on the road.
They start in mid state action against Perry Murdy. And listen, Franklin,
your boys they were two and oero this time last
year and then lost five straight. I don't think that's
going to be the same case here for Chris Calls squad.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
We certainly hope not from Indiana sr In and our
own Indiana Sports Talk the man himself, that Daniel Finch
Mount Vernon and Franklin tonight Franklin wins this one twenty
seven thirteen, that they Daniel again, thanks for all you
do for Indiana Sports talking for me, have a great night, Thanks.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
For the call. Thanks coach, have a great show you too.
Thank you very much.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Landon Kun's school board update extraordinary Landing, Welcome back.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
It's been a while.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
It has been a while. It's uh, what was it.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
I don't even know when the last time I did updates,
so it could have been last week, but I don't
even remember. But time flies when you're having fun, though, right, Coach,
it does.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
We got a big day of college football coming up tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
Do we not not as big as next Saturday, but
we got a big day.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
It is.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
It's like a it's like a fall error just going
across the breeze, right, I mean, college football is back,
and you got so many good games, even in the
state of Indiana.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
You know, you got old Dominion and IU.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
You got this new era of the boiler Makers going
against going against Ball State and the Sunday night, a
massive night between Notre Dame and Miami.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
It's gonna be phenomenal.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
It will be phenomenal. Indiana State with a win last night,
You Indie with a win last night, got a lot
to talk about. We're back, short break. This is network
Indiana's Indiana Sports do. Welcome back, everybody up, Bob level.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
This is Indiana SPORTSOFF.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Brought to you by Indiana Donor Network, season number thirty two.
We're so glad you could join us Friday nights. Something
special about Friday nights in the fall. I think everyone
understands it. Let's talk about something special right now. Indian
Creek beats Greenwood nineteen twenty nine to ten.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Excuse me to move to two and zero in the
season with.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
Me Indian Creeks Max Goodin, coach, thank you so much
for the call and congratulations on a very impressive win tonight.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 8 (06:50):
Man.
Speaker 9 (06:50):
It's not come easy for us against Greenwood, so I'm
sure you can see you here. Some of our players
in the background, Man, are communion kidding fired up? Especially
winning a big one like.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
This, big Inner county rivalry.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
Greenwood comes in, as you know, a good football team
a preseason, got some acknowledgment in the polls.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
That's a good football team. Uh, and so were you.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
I think that's the impressive thing here and tonight you
have to be thrilled at what you did on both
sides of the ball, plus put some points on the board,
held them to one touchdown. That's an impressive night.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Well, I'll tell you.
Speaker 9 (07:26):
What, Bob it's what's even more impressive is if you
know that they scored on a blocked punt. Uh, so
our defense really gave up only three points. Our special
teams was really good other than the blocked punt that
we gave up and they scored on, and our offense
face a little adversity early in gott It Rowland. I
mean it was. It was really complimentary football and the
testament to all of our kids.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
I think it's great, Max, Max. I think it's great
that you two play each other, and I really do.
Speaker 5 (07:52):
I think it's important, you know, county rivalries notwithstanding, it's
just good that you play each other. You especially testing
your kids by playing a school a couple of classifications
above you.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
It was fantastic, especially when you win.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
But I just think overall, irrespective of a score, it's
an important game to play.
Speaker 9 (08:13):
Oh one hundred percent. I mean we you know, our
kids know each other very well. But they're also joining
our conference, so I mean that was kind of a
that was a big one for us moving forward, saying hey,
you guys are joining our conference next year, and uh,
we got to prove that we're ready to hang with
the big dogs. And I think We definitely prove that
tonight and our kids played the rear ends off.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
All Right, tell me who plays well for you in
the big win. Jackson Ramy had a huge night for us.
Speaker 9 (08:40):
Alec Burris had another or had a huge game in
the secondary. Those two were the two biggest ones. And
Evan Clark showed some resiliency. He struggled at the beginning
with a couple of tough plays and then came back
and had a couple of nice touchdown passes as well.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
All right, who's coming up next week?
Speaker 9 (08:59):
We got Covenant Christian at home and then we'll follow
that with Beech Grove.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
A couple of challenges here, couple of good I love
the schedule, Love the schedule. You're just you know, it's
not the nature of Indian Creek to uh to run
from anybody. You know, you'll play anybody anywhere, anytime.
Speaker 9 (09:19):
Hundred percent. And if you like those challenges, we follow
that with Lapel, Trenton Central and Try West. So we're
we're gearing up for it, and uh we're we're hoping
that gets us ready for the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
So I will tell you what that is. A that
is a challenging schedule. Top to bottom. That's an impressive group.
But the way you're playing right now, I like your chances.
Max Goodin is the football coach at Indian Creek. Tonight
they beat Greenwood twenty nine to ten. Coach, I appreciate
the call. Best of luck to you and your guys
next week.
Speaker 9 (09:50):
Appreciate that and as always, thank you for all you
do for Indian High schol football.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
You're very kind. I appreciate it very much. Thank you.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
All right, Landon Kuns, talk to me about something I
don't know right now, college football.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (10:01):
You mentioned we got IU in action Purdue and action
ball State of Purdue. Love those interstate the matchups without question.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
This is Indiana.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Sportscock High School Football tonight. We've got a lot to
talk about.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
Greg Rigstrawl joins me from the IFC Sports Network, and
you know Greg from just about every other possible venue
and outlet that's out there. He is the best at.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
What he does.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
Ninth ISC, he has the Carmel thirty four to ten
win over Westfield. Greg, thank you for the call, and
it was a very impressive win for a really, really
good Carmel team that with coach Kevin they were good.
Speaker 7 (13:17):
The thing we have said repeatedly over the last you know,
probably half of his broadcast in the last two weeks,
is that the Hounds are back, you know. And let's
face with the bar as higher for Carmel than it
is for most but last year's senior class was the
first four year group that went through Carnmeals since the
advent of a modern football tournament in seventy three that
(13:39):
had not won a sectional. And in just two games,
Carmel has beaten Fishers by twenty five and last year's
runners up in six' eight by twenty. Four as we
all Knew Kevin wright can really. Coach they've had some
kids that are seniors that have played as sophomores and.
Juniors But i'm not sure anybody outside the program thought
(13:59):
That carmel what kind of figured out this. Quickly they
have been dominant against two good teams the first two
weeks of the.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
Season, yeah and their schedule is going to be that
way all year. Long whoever they, play they're really, good
and so you, know it's interesting to. SEE i don't
think you're. SURPRISED i certainly am not. Surprised Kevin wright
has won multiple state championships for a.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Reason everywhere he's been he's, won and the same thing.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
Here they don't lack, talent they don't lack, facilities they
don't lack. Interest there's a lot of great things About
carmel And kevin's bringing a lot of that out right.
Speaker 7 (14:38):
Now and the thing That Lance SHIP i thought was
great about plenty on on the, Broadcast and, FRANKLY i
see this a little bit with guys that have that
college background from a basketball, standpoint you, KNOW i THINK i,
know you, know from having played it growing. UP i
can kind of tell the college guys that have coached
in high school. Horoops And lance was on top of
this he, goes there are things that win foot ball
(15:00):
is your job twenty four to. Seven you don't worry
about teaching class or things like. That there are things
that you pick up schematically that maybe other high school coaches.
Don't you kind of see that From Kevin. Listen kevin
was a great coach forever set foot At Western kentucky
or At Indiana university or AT. Img but you bring
that college slash national level of high school coaching to
(15:24):
the high school game In, indiana that gives you an
advantage to work. With and we saw that in terms
of the variety of. Formations and you, know there's a
lot of similarities these days in terms of basketball and, Football,
bob and that is that the best offenses use space
as a. Weapon and we saw that tonight From.
Speaker 5 (15:42):
Carmel well tell me how they do, it who and
who steps up and makes those big.
Speaker 7 (15:46):
Plays, well you know they've got a young man In
Anthony foloo as their starting. Quarterback he is in year number.
Three anthony is a recruit From troy and The Sun.
Belt anthony AND i had one hundred and seventy eight yards,
passing one hundred and eighty seven yards passing and a,
touchdown had to pick had a rushing touchdown as. Well very,
accurate complete at eleven of his first twelve passes in the.
(16:08):
Game tonight doesn't run a, lot but when he, does
he makes plays with his. Feet he's carried the Ball
bob eighteen times this. Season he's had four rushing. Touchdowns
colner as a guy that again really a three year,
Starter he's the guy that kind of leads the charge
of This carmel.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Offense all, Right he's up next For.
Speaker 7 (16:27):
Carmel carmel will Play centerville Of, ohio so they are
at home next. Week their next two games are against
out of state. Competition they will make the trip To
louisville in week number four when they take On Louisville.
Trinity that's kind Of bloston in a really good kind
of regional rivalry over the course of the last few.
Weeks excuse, me While westfield will be an action as
(16:48):
they open up EIGHT cc play next week At.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
Zionsville greg, Raigsterrawl we're going to be with him tomorrow
night talking about The. Colts right, now, though from THE
Isc Sports network is the call Of.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Carmel's win over a very very Good westfield. Team thirty
four to ten the final in that, One, greg, thanks
talk to you tomorrow. Night thank you very.
Speaker 7 (17:12):
Much we got a.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Coach John, herrick also from THE Isc Sports network joins.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Me we're talking To john tomorrow night ABOUT i.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
You but Tonight john has The Hamilton southeastern thirty one
to seven win Over North. Central, john thanks for the.
Call impressive win FOR hsc. Tonight we may have Lost
john well in the interim while we're trying to find.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Him let's talk With Jared.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
Lewis Jared lewis as The Triton central wind Over Hamilton
night's twenty eight Thirteen, jared thanks for the.
Speaker 8 (17:43):
Call, yeah, coach thanks for taking the. Time Trent central
starting the season off two and, zero and they did
it by really putting together a complete offensive effort in
the second. Half it took them a, while starting the
game off with three. PUNTS i think they get in
the night with, seven but mixed in there they had
(18:05):
a few good offensive drives led by their junior quarterback
In Matthew. Wilkins he had a terrific game fifteen of twenty,
two two hundred and fifteen yards and two, touchdowns and
the run game was really also what did it for
them in the second. Half they had the lead throughout the,
game never gave it. Up Hamilton heights was able to
(18:27):
tie it up a couple of, times But Trenton central
they never wavered and they have a really good all
state running back In Brayden. Brown eighteen carries sixty six
yards and he finished with two rushing. Scores and really
that was the defense just more or that was the.
Difference a more balanced offensive attack For Trenton. Central, again
(18:47):
took them a little while to figure things, out but
once they, did they kind of seemed to have their
way against The Hamilton heights.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
Defense All, Right who's up next For Hamilton heights and
For Trenton Central next.
Speaker 8 (19:01):
Week Hamilton heights will be back home and they have
Typical New Valley and then for Trying, central they got
a tough. One it's a conference. Game next. Week they
have to travel to Try west and take on a
pretty good Try west. Team so that'll be a big
game and also a new conference opponent That Trenton central
(19:23):
has this.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
Season, Tonight Jared lewis And indiana SR n on The
call Of Triton central's win Or Hamilton heights twenty eight to.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Thirteen, jared thank you so much for the. Call have
a great weekend you as. Well, coach thank, you thank
you very.

on college football and The.
