Steve starts out our show with some Roncalli vs. Chatard match-up. Roncalli was able to take this in dominant fashion with a score of 26-6. He says they were able to get out early and really stick it to Chatard early and they never recovered. Big penalties were also a saga for Chatard. Dave comes to switch it up with some basketball with Ball State. BSB took on Mansfield with a Ball State win of 84-54. Mr. Eha talks about some stand-outs and what to look out for. Max calls in with a huge win for Indian Creek. They won their sectionals, 49-13 against Scottsburg. He talks about their pregame shenanigans and how they were ankle to start hot and end up calm and easy. He is really proud of his team.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
This Indiana Sports Talk scoreboard update is brought to you
by Quality Supply and Tool in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Jeffersonville, and
Lafayette think outside the box store Quality Supply Andtool dot Com.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
I should say, in number seven Sectional, Warren Central takes
down Southport fifty eight to nothing tonight to become sectional champions.
In Sectional twenty nine, Cascade over Garren Katholic forty nine
to twenty one. And in Sectional thirty Lawrenceburg met Greensburg
in a forty one to three win for Lawrenceburg and

(00:55):
in Sectional forty Brownstown Central over Switzerland County fifty five
to zero. We also had some college basketball play today.
Earlier on number one, Perdue takes down Oakland eighty seven
to seventy seven. Ohio State over Purdue Fort Wayne ninety
four to sixty seven. Notre Dame over in Detroit Mercer

(01:15):
one o two to seventy. Number nine Kentucky takes down
Valparaiso one oh seven to fifty nine, Evansville over Calumet
ninety two to fifty. Fall State takes down Mansfield eighty
four to fifty four. And coming up tomorrow, Butler is
taking on IU Indy at five o'clock. NCAA football coming

(01:38):
up tomorrow. Number two Indiana will be at Penn State.
That game kicks off at noon. Perdue is taking on
number one Ohio State. That game starts at noon as well.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Welcome back everyone on Bob Lohber this year Indiana Sports Talk.
So glad you could join US Sectionals Championships. That's what's
going on tonight. What a weekend, What a great time
of year. Girls basketball, boys basketball coming up soon, college basketball,

(02:18):
college football, the Colts.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
The Pacers.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Quite frankly, I'm not sure how much better it can
get for you, but there's a lot a lot going
on this weekend tonight. Our focus is as it always
is during the fall, on high school football. Gorman gave
you some results, some of the games that have already
been concluded, lots of points scored tonight, and hopefully the

(02:47):
weather has held off and made it kind of acceptable
for you and you could get out and watch some games,
and so you know, our congratulations. I said every time
at this time of year, a lot of careers came
to an in tonight. I'm very sorry for that. If
you are wrapping it up and you're a senior and
played your last football game, congratulations on what you've accomplished.

(03:11):
Thank you for all your hard work on behalf of
your coaches and teachers, and thanks to your family. I
know it's been an immersive situation. It's it's one of
those great things that you get involved in as a family.
The bad thing is it comes to a screeching.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Halt and football. I used to teach how you have
sports ethics.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Class, and I you Indy, and one of the topics
I had was the conclusion of of your careers and
all of our careers are going to end unless you're
lucky like I am, and you get a radio show
after you had a coaching career, and you get a
radio show so you can stay actively involved in it.

(03:54):
As I'm lucky to do. But for the most part,
one of the hardest things is to deal with the
end of something you've been involved in for a long
long time. And so their you know, moms and dads
have cried with their sons, and they've laughed and cheered
with their sons, and they've had late practices.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
And had their own uber service and all of those.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Kinds of things, and you're totally invested in it, as
you should be. And nights like tonight, while we talked
to coaches who win and everyone's happy, I think people
need to be mindful too that on the other side,
you know, lots and lots of hard work have gone
into the same experience that just didn't work out. And

(04:36):
that's the joy and the agony no pun intended of
what sports is about. But congratulations around for everyone win
or lose tonight. Congratulations on great experience. For those of
you who's career ends, and for those who are fortunate
enough to play on Saturdays, we wish you the best.
Hopefully we'll talk about you on our show on Saturday

(04:59):
nights when we talk about Collie's football. Reminder, there's a
nice lead in join me tomorrow night we talk about
college football.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
It is a lot. There's a lot going on.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
So let's start it off by talking to Steve Ollery
from Indiana High School Sports dot com and Steve, I'm
so glad you called me. Ron Collie schatard. Ron Collie
wins this one, twenty six to six. What a fantastic
game for the Trojans tonight.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Yeah, big win for Ron Collie. Credits to coach Sam
Ottley and his staff. They had the Royals ready to go.
They came out and punched Guitar in the mouth right
from the start and never looked back.

Speaker 6 (05:40):
Star had a.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Couple of first half interceptions that really hurt. Turning point
the game really was. Early in the second half, it
was still a ten point game. It was sixteen to
six run Collie at halftime. Shatar got the second half
kickoff and they put a nice ride together, got down
to the ten yard line, got called for holding them
behind the chains and they were unable to get a

(06:02):
first down and then missed a field goal. Roncali then
turns around, drivesdown, scores a touchdown to go up twenty
three to six, and that was kind of it. Gaitar
just was out of stink all night. But credit to
Ron Collie's defense were bottling up running back Danny Adams
and Ron Collie's offense, they were able to get things
done on the ground all night long. Quarterback Colin ash

(06:22):
had a big game and bid to go in for
Ron Collie. They get the sectional championship.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
These are two storied programs, obviously multiple championships on both sides.
And to Ron Collie team that has just seems to
have progressed and gotten better and better and better by
the week.

Speaker 7 (06:40):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
When these two teams played back in week three at
that Gaitar and Gazar won easily thirty three to eleven.
Ron Colli had won seven of eight since then and
the one loss was to the team from Cincinnati, and
they were prepared tonight. They were ready to go. They
came right out and like I said, they took control
and let up in the second half. A great win

(07:02):
for them to get the win. These things are about thirteen
times now in the postseason and Rock Holly holds the
edge overall now eight to five. After it's a night's win.
But Shatard had won the last four games in a
row between these two teams, so they win for the
Royals and now they move on to the regional next week.
I think they'll play Yorktown next.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
All right, Steve, I need you to hang on through
this short break. Can you do that? Yes, sir, perfect,
We'll come back.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Talk more high school football on network Indiana's Indiana Sports Don.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Welcome back everyone. This is Indiana Sports Talks Sectional Championships. Tonight.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Stard has beaten excuse me, Ron Colley has beaten Shatar
twenty six to six to win. Steve Vallery with me
from Indiana High School Sports dot Com. All right, Steve,
take me back through the Assuming a twenty point spread
is a little surprising to me, But when are the
Royals able to get this spread?

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (08:14):
So they scored right off the bat. They scored in
the first quarter to take a seven to nothing lead
and pushed it to thirteen to nothing with a couple
of field goals. Start finally got on the board on
a two play drive. They completed a fifty yard pass
to receiver Julio Grays and Indiany Adams ran it in
for a touchdown. Bu Gautard was called for a penalty

(08:36):
that pushed the extra point back to fifteen yards, which
they missed and they finally stales down sixteen to six
and a half, so it's this still a ten point game.
But again that tried to start the second half where
Satar got to a ten yard line. A touchdown there
makes it a three point game, but a holding call
back some up ten yards the doll, the drive stalls,

(08:57):
they miss a field goal. Ron Kylie gets them all
back and about four plays later complete fifty yard touchdown
pass for a touchdown, and it's twenty three to six
and Saitar just couldn't answer from there. They're just their
offense was just kind of out of stake. Ron College's
defense did a really good job of bottling up running
back Danny Adams, and the Royals got to win. Big

(09:18):
credit to coach Sam Ottley and the Ron College staff.
They had their guys ready tonight.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Who were your stars of the game tonight on the broadcast?

Speaker 5 (09:27):
Definitely Colin ash the round colleague quarterback. He's dangerous with
both his arm and his legs, but he really with
his legs. He's a lefty, but he runs the ball well.
He's an excellent baseball player too. For Ron Collie. Defensively,
Will Hayman, a linebacker in safety made a lot of
plays and their kicker, you know, they've got a great
kicker who held four field goals tonight and it was

(09:50):
just an all round team win they wanted in all three.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Phases to night.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
You know, you coaches like to talk about complimentary football,
and right coach Sam Ottley his staff got it tonight.
They got it in all three phases.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Sectional action Tonight championship goes to Ron Colly, a twenty
six to six winner over Shitar. Steve Olry from Indian
High school Sports dot Com. Thanks for the call, Steve,
have a great weekend.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
You back out saying to you.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
College basketball tonight, Ball State beats Ohio Mansfield eighty four
fifty four from the Ball State Network David Ehall, Dave,
thanks for the call.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Good way for the Cards to get started tonight.

Speaker 6 (10:33):
Yeah, it really was Bob, good to talk to you.
Wasn't easy. I mean, Mansfield Division two school hung in there.
Cards only led by four at the half thirty two
to twenty eight due to some of hisimal shooting both
at the line and the three point stripe, and then
then the second half defense took over Cards that ultimately
ended up forcing twenty one turnovers turned that into twenty

(10:56):
five points and the margin of victory thirty probably grew.
They were only up ten with ten minutes to go
in the game, so the last ten minutes really put
it on Well.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
I had the honor of working with your broadcast partner
last night. Last night, Rick and I.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Did the did the IU Indie and Long Island University game.
Great game, fun game. But as you saw tonight, you
get brand new faces, completely new rosters in this new
day and a. So these are games that are important
because it's hard to figure out who you are and

(11:34):
what you are, and so the more court time you have,
the better off you are. And I'm assuming you kind
of like a lot of things you saw tonight.

Speaker 6 (11:42):
Yeah, there's no question. And Rick told me to tell
you how, by the way, and it sounds like IU
in he's a fun team to watch. But Yeahluding and
the Cardinals they didn't panic, you know they And I
tell you what Bob, I do like this group. I
mean it's a brand new roster for the most art,
and he's assembled a bunch of guys. But what's early

(12:04):
on in their two games, both home wins, these guys
play together. They're unselfish. They defend all those things when
you bring in a new rockstay that you're maybe not
sure they're about. We and I think Michael's assembled a
group that is team oriented.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
So I like what I see so far.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
It's going to get tougher going on the road Tuesday
at Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Why can you hang on through this school board update?

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Sure, perfect, We'll come back talk to more ball state
basketball on Indiana Sports Dogs.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
This Indiana Sports Talk scoreboard update is brought to you
by Quality Supply and Tool in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Jefferson, Villa
Lapa ed Think outside the Box store Quality Supply and
Tool dot Com.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
I'm Golden Windibilter with this network school board Updame High
School football Sectional championships took place tonight and we have
some games that have gone final. Those include Sectional seven
Warren Central over Southport fifty eight to zero, Sectional twenty
nine's Cascade and Garren Kafwic game which went in casgades

(13:16):
favor forty nine to twenty one. In Sectional thirty, Lawrenceburg
takes down Greensburg forty one to three, and in Sectional forty,
Brownstown Central over Switzerland County fifty five to zero. In
college basketball today, Number one Perdue took down Oakland eighty
seven to seventy seven, Ohio State over Purdue Fort Wayne

(13:40):
ninety four to sixty seven, Notre Dame over Detroit Mercer
one o two to seventy. Number nine Kentucky over Valparaiso
one oh seven to fifty nine, Evansville over calu Met
ninety two to fifty. Ball State wins eighty four to
fifty four over Mansfield and coming up to tomorrow, Butler

(14:01):
is taking on IU Indy at five o'clock. Speaking of tomorrow,
the number two Indiana Hoosiers are at Penn State at noon.
Purdue is hosting number one Ohio State at noon. Number
ten Notre Dame takes on Navy at seven thirty. Butler
is at Moorhead State. At one o'clock. Hanover is facing
Outerbyn at one thirty. Manchester is facing Mount Saint Joseph

(14:25):

Home In at two o'clock. Franklin College is hosting Bluffton
at one thirty. Trine Is has a game at one
o'clock tomorrow, as well. Undy is facing Southwest Baptist at
two o'clock and Taylor is facing Sienna Heights.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Welcome back everyone, this is Indiana Sports Soccer. We're talking
about ball State basketball. They beat in Mansfield tonight eighty
four fifty four. Davey Haff from the Ball State Network,
Dave did tell me who who caught your eye to
in their second performance as a Cardinal?

Speaker 6 (15:03):
Yeah, I mean good balance Cards had five and double figures.
But the player that really stood out as a transfer
from Saint Peter's Armani Ziegler, twenty points, nine rebounds, five
seals for the six to four junior.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
He did it all.

Speaker 6 (15:20):
Really really impressed with Ziggler. And then dave On Hill,
six to two point guard, followed up a good performance
the other night against Louisiana, matching his total with sixteen
points six rebounds. So the really Cards went with a
smaller lineup for most of the night, but Ziggler and
Hill definitely two guys that stood out.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
What's the schedule look like coming up?

Speaker 6 (15:46):
Yeah, so Tuesday night at the Cole Center at Wisconsin
and then follow that up with a Saturday home game
against Arkansas Little Rock. So it's certainly going to be
a tough one on Tuesday night, but should be a
fun atmosphere.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Challenging week that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Ball stayed with a win on the football excuse me
basketball court. They beat Mansfield out of Ohio eighty four
fifty four. David Eha great to talk to him, Thanks
so much. Have a great weekend. You two coach's talk
some high school football championship.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Friday Sectional Championship goes to Indian.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Creek forty nine thirteen winners over Scottsburg with me Indian Creeks.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Max Gooden, the coach.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
I enjoy our Friday night conversations because that means you
and your guys have played well in one game.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
So congratulations.

Speaker 7 (16:38):
I appreciate that. It's always good when I get to
talk to you because that's something good to happen for us.
So and I'm I'm sitting here looking at the first
Sectional championship trophy at the Indian creaking fourteen years. So
that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Obviously, when you guys sat down as a group back
in the in the spring in the summer, this was
one of the goals.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Is one of the things you were pointing toward Tonine.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
I'm sure that you know, these are kids who were
not even in junior high the last time you wanted
a sectional championship. So this is tremendous accomplishment. I congratulate
you and your kids on this great honor tonight.

Speaker 7 (17:15):
I appreciate that. Yeah, a lot of them were like
three years old, so this is a big deal for them.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
Olo.

Speaker 7 (17:22):
The entire team like has never seen an Indian Incregue
sectional championship.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
And we made it the goal, and we basically talked about, hey.

Speaker 7 (17:29):
If we go ten and zero in the regular season
and don't get it done in the playoffs, like, we're
not going to be happy about that. So you know,
when you go all in like that, that can be
scary to have a goal like that. But man, we
freaking rolled tonight and it was awesome.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Well, one of the things that's been a staple for
your ball club has been a great balance on both
sides of the football. Same case tonight in the big win.

Speaker 7 (17:55):
Yeah, I mean, our kids were fired up to play
and then they made the bold decision to run out
on our fifty and plant their flag pre game.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
And you know, I've never.

Speaker 7 (18:07):
I've never been on the other end of that, not
one when a team decides to do that. So our
kids were really really ready to play.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
I'll say that, well, did you get to go start?

Speaker 1 (18:17):
If you were ready to play, did you come out
and get on the board first?

Speaker 6 (18:20):
We did.

Speaker 7 (18:21):
We got up twenty one nothing into the blink of
an eye, so it was it was into the first
quarter twenty one zero, scored on the first three possessions.
I mean, just just so proud of our kids. We've
started the last two games with scoring on the first
three possessions, maybe even the last three. But we're starting
to make a habit of starting fast and that's awesome

(18:42):
because we struggled with that last year and all these
boys have done such a good job of just doing
with that of them and just being awesome.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Man.

Speaker 7 (18:50):
So I'm really really proud of this group. All the
time and effort that they've devoted, staff kids, you.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Know, the whole field.

Speaker 7 (18:58):
It's been an amazing turn around.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Well, who were your stars tonight besides everybody who stood
out this evening in the win.

Speaker 7 (19:08):
It was a total group effort, it truly was. But
Evan Clark had five passing touchdowns, Jackson Ramy got in
the paint twice, Hunter Worley I'm sorry Jackson Ramy scored.
I'm sorry Jackson Ramys scored twice. Hunter Worley scored three times.
And then defensively, we had a pair of interceptions. I
believe Jackson Green had won, and then we had a

(19:32):
couple of big fourth down stops as well.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Do you know who you're playing next week?

Speaker 7 (19:39):
I believe we are going down to Gibson Southern, so
we're making the long trip down to Ford Branch.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Should be a great matchup, should be a great challenge
for both teams. Tonight, Indian Creek captures their first sectional
championship in how many years?

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Coach fourteen fourteen.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Coach Max Gooden with us to talk about the celebration
that's going on right now Intrafagar forty nine thirteen to
final over Scott'sburg. Coach, thanks so much for the call.
Congratulations again and good luck next week.

Speaker 7 (20:11):
Appreciate the kind words and thank you for all you
do to support Indian high school football.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Well I appreciate those kind words too, Thank you, good
luck coach. Thanks you have it. Sectional championships. Don't forget
now we're in the middle of sectional championships, so don't
forget to join us tomorrow on our Saturday night show,
we'll be talking a lot of football and basketball. College
basketball has begun, as you know, and so Division III

(20:40):

food all Tomorrow the big game at one o'clock, I
you traveling to Penn State the number two ranked Hoosiers.
We all know it's a difficult place to play, but

Purdue boiler Makers at ross Aid Stadium. Notre Dame at

Bacers are at Denver Tomorrow night and Sunday. The Colts
are in Germany.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
A lot going on. This means this music means.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
We're headed to the top of the hour, at which
time Corbyn Lingolfelter had another school where up they'd forced
more championships to talk about.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
This is Indiana Sports Talk.
