Sometimes the closest relationships can be the most painful relationships. These are the relationships which in theory, can be the most meaningful and enriching, but also have the potential to be the most hurtful. Why? Because those that are near and dear; parents, children, siblings, spouses and any invested relationship that we expect should fuel us with feelings of being loved and cared for are all the more devastating when instead of love, we feel pain. How can we cope with hurt and get the love we want?
