Sarah Burdine is a mother, speaker and gun violence prevention advocate. After losing her husband James to Cardiomegaly (a sudden cardiac death) and her son Ciar to gun violence by homicide. She struggled to find life’s meaning. Overtime, Sarah found ways to bounce back from life’s setbacks due to both life-altering experiences her family had to endure.
While awaiting Ciar’s case to be solved, she became a volunteer with Moms Demand Action, and as a national Fellow with the Everytown Survivor Network. Sarah believes that it’s incredibly important for people to know homicide hits every community, race, and gender. Sarah has committed her life’s work to being the voice of Ciar, in hope that one day to bring closure to her son’s murder.
