Speaker 2 (00:59):
All right, hell over, buddy, Welcome to the broadcast. Last
week was kind of a different type of episode, right,
but I did get a lot of positive response about it,
So I'm not sure how often we will veer off
into that direction, but we're going to do it every
so often. And I have to tell you that divorce
is a really important topic and it affects a lot
(01:22):
of people. If it hasn't affected you in your life directly,
it's probably affected someone very close to you. And I
think it's a topic we don't talk enough about, especially
within the church. And I'm talking about from the perspective
of helping people heal. And we still kind of have
that scarlet letter, you know, on people who have gone
(01:44):
through a divorce. And sometimes it's not your choice, you know,
the person you're married to just decides, you know what,
I don't want to keep my marriage vows and they
file for divorce and you have to kind of react
to that. So it is what it is. So I
hope you enjoyed that episode. So what's going on with
everybody this Saturday? Last Saturday, a couple of days ago,
(02:06):
I got to take a few hours off and I
went up to Saint Augustine and it's starting to look
all exciting and beautiful for the holidays. Officially, the city
turns on the lights this next Saturday night, so it's
always the Saturday just before Thanksgiving that they turn on
the official city lights. However, a lot of the businesses
(02:30):
and the you know, the churches and you know organizations
that are not the city already have their lights going,
so you can kind of get a little bit of
a sneak peek and get up there before the crowds.
I always love the lights. I love the lights, but
the crowds are tough this time of year. It's it's
every year, it's more and more crowds, and you almost
(02:54):
start to feel a little bit like you're at Disney,
you know that feeling where there's like no where to walk,
like there's no even space to walk because people are,
you know, kind of blocking you know, every square inch
of space. Well, if you kind of know the backstreets though,
like like I do, and you get off a little
bit off of like Saint George Street, there's a lot
(03:16):
of open spaces. So I encourage everybody, if you've never
done it, to get up to Saint Augustine to check
out the beautiful lights. People come from all over the
world to see the lights in Saint Augustine. It is
like in the top five cities of lights for the
holidays in the entire world. It is really something to see.
(03:37):
And I will tell you that A close second that
I really love is Mount Dora, Florida, which is just
outside of Orlando. It's a western suburb of Orlando, and
they do a fantastic job with their lights. Really really
love Montdora. Now it's a smaller town than Saint Augustine,
so there's not as much you know, square footage or
(04:00):
or square miles if you will, of things to see,
but it's a beautiful small city and there's a lot
of really neat things to do there, great restaurants and shopping,
and they do like a Christmas market this time of
the year, and they have the lights, of course, and
their lights are starting also this week. So I have
been super busy and I don't know if I officially
(04:22):
mentioned it on the show. I think I did, but
if not, here you go. I started my master's degree
on November. The first Things have been a little bit
slow in the real estate mortgage business. So I started
my master's degree and a lot of people are asking me,
you know, why did you do that? What is your plan?
So I've always wanted to teach college, and with all
(04:43):
the books I've written and my diverse experience in business,
I think I've got a good shot at it of
being able to get into a college somewhere and teach,
and I'd love to do it at a Christian college
in particular, if that opportunity was ever made available to me.
So I am about twenty percent of the way finished
with my master's degree, and I'm getting my master's through
(05:06):
a college called Western Governor's University, and my son got
his master's there and that's how I first learned about it.
And it's an online school, it's fully accredited, but they
have some really unique benefits. One of them is that
you're allowed to go as quickly as you want, so
(05:26):
unlike a regular, you know, college class that might be
let's say four months long or so, they allow you
to just dive in and do as much work as
you can do and you can move forward as quickly
as you want. So typically most people take a year
to eighteen months to do a master's degree. My goal
(05:49):
is to finish by the end of January my master's degree.
And I'm on track right now because I'm almost at
twenty percent of the way through. I finished one course,
got per scores on my reports. Now I'm halfway through
the second course and turned in my fifty percent of
my work today and then I'll start the other fifty
(06:10):
percent of my work tomorrow. But they have a lot
of different masters programs and also a lot of different
bachelor degree programs as well, so I would encourage you
to check it out. It's a very affordable college, fully accredited,
and it's online, and they just do a fantastic job.
And I learned about it through my son, who got
(06:31):
his master's in IT management from WGU about four or
five years ago, and so I thought, Hey, the old
man's going to do it now, so I'm working on
my masters. Well. Trump has a really bold list of
cabinet appointments, and I have to say that I really
feel like that is the lesson that he learned in
(06:53):
his first term. I mean, all of these people, these
disloyal people, you know, the Nikki Haleys, the Bill Barr,
Attorney General James Comy, all these people that he was
surrounded by, and I think I get what he was
trying to do, which was to get some Washington insiders
(07:14):
in his circle, kind of like a I don't want
to say a cabinet of enemies, which is what Lincoln did,
but I think he was trying to get a cabinet
of insiders. And now he's realized that that didn't work,
it backfired, and so now he's bringing in outsiders, a
lot of outsiders, a lot of people who are just
(07:35):
you know, examples of how Trump would do it. And
the one that I'm really excited about, Matt Gates. It's
unfortunate because even among my conservative friends are saying, no,
he's never gonna get confirmed. Man. I would love to
see Matt Gates as Attorney General, and he's been Trump
has nominated him. We're gonna see where that goes. He's
(07:57):
got to be confirmed. But there's some talk to about
recess appointments. This is where if the Senate and Congress
are not in session together, then individuals get to skip
the confirmation process. That would be pretty cool if Trump
could pull that off and get all of his picks
in there. I mean, I think the president should get
(08:19):
his picks. He is the president, this is his cabinet,
and the vetting process should be you know, just very
very basic. You know, just making sure that you know,
there's a little bit of a filter there, but you know,
just because you don't necessarily agree with someone's perspective on things.
I mean, it's not your pick, it's the president's pick.
(08:40):
That's why I'm really frustrated to hear from a lot
of people saying Matt Gates is not going to be
able to get confirmed. I would love to see Matt
Gates in, you know, in the office of a g
I just I think him running the Justice Department would
be fantastic on so many levels. Including kind of you know,
finding out what in the world's been going on there
(09:02):
the last three or four years with all this law
fair and also getting to the bottom of this whole
you know, January sixth situation. And there hasn't been a
lot of talk about January sixth, but you got to
think that Trump is going to pardon all of these
people that were non violent that just went in walked around.
(09:25):
I mean, if I could have been one of those people,
I considered going on January sixth, and if you literally
the doors were opened to you by the Capitol police,
if you walk through those open doors and just walked
around making video, you could be in jail right now
and be awaiting trial. I think there's been at least
(09:47):
one or two people that have died in jail awaiting
trial from January sixth. And I'm not talking about people
that were violent that fought police officers. They need to
be prosecuted, but they need to face the same kinds
of penalties as any other individual that fights a police officer.
They shouldn't be, you know, given twenty years or thirty years.
(10:10):
I mean, that's what people are getting, you know, for
like a second degree murder charge. So I think a
lot of these people have been overcharged, for sure, but
in particular those people that were not violent, that were
just curious, and that would have been someone like me.
If I did go that day, I would have walked
in if the doors were open, and made video and
(10:32):
took pictures and kind of done the Jim Parris kind
of thing that I do on Facebook. But we're gonna
have to see what Trump does with that. But I
do think he absolutely has it right this time. The
people that he's nominating for his cabinet. All right, a
Nebraska beauty queen. Her title is missus Nebraska. Her name
(10:55):
is Liz Freeesan, and she's caught up in a three
million dollar get rich Quick scheme allegedly to fool admiring followers.
And this scam is basically promising people a path to
riches that they can allegedly make one hundred thousand dollars
(11:15):
a month getting into drop shipping, and they're paying this company.
She's promoting between fifteen thousand and one hundred thousand dollars
to get into the drop shipping business. Now, the drop
shipping business is totally legitimate, and we've talked about it
for years In some of my online classes, I've talked
(11:38):
to people about drop shipping. All it is is basically,
you set up a website and you sell a product
that you yourself don't have an inventory, but you have
a third party ship that to your customer, and then
you keep the difference. So if you sell the product
for forty dollars and your drop shipper you pay that
(12:00):
twenty bucks for the wholesale price on that item, they
ship it directly to your customer, and a lot of
times they'll put your name on it and everything so
that it, you know, actually looks like it came from you,
and then the twenty dollars difference is your profit. Drop
shipping is totally legitimate. I don't know a lot about
this company that she's promoting. I'm not going to mention
(12:22):
their name on the broadcast there, but I don't know
much about them. But it seems like maybe where they're
getting into trouble here, which is always the case, is
promising these really high earnings, these you know, one hundred
thousand dollars per month earnings, and what a lot of
times people like this missus Nebraska don't understand. And I
(12:46):
even have friends on my Facebook who kind of have
small followings, and they probably don't know this either, that
even if you're not running the scam company, if you're
just a promoter, you can still get in a lot
of trouble as well. And somebody who has kind of
a public profile, like this missus Nebraska, they're gonna, you know,
(13:09):
make her an example because she's she's you know, famous,
so they're going to make her an example and prosecute her.
So even if it's not your business opportunity, it's somebody
else's and you're just promoting it, sending traffic to it,
you can still be prosecuted for being part of it.
(13:29):
It sort of looked at as like a conspiracy in
that in the sense that you have liability because you're
recommending it. And in particular, if you repeat any of
these earnings claims where you know you could say, look,
you know, contact XYZ company. I know they're great and
(13:50):
you can make one hundred thousand dollars a month. Well
you say that and you're getting paid, you know, some
kind of referral commission. You're now part of the the deal.
So when they prosecute that company, they're going to include
you in that prosecution, and there's a lot of things
that could happen. There could be financial penalties. You could
(14:11):
even have prison time, which is unlikely, but probably they'll
be fines to be paid. And then they also have
what they call clawback, and a clawback is where you
have to give back all the money you made from
all your ill gotten gains have to be paid back.
So that's kind of the other side of it. Okay,
(14:32):
Spirit Airlines goes bankrupt. I just flew last week on Frontier.
I had like a little one day trip, so I
don't mind flying on these discounters, but now you've got
to be super careful. Spirit Airlines has gone bankrupt and
they're telling people, don't worry, we're just restructuring our debts.
(14:53):
It's all good. However, I don't know. I have mixed
feelings about it. I don't know if I would put
a lot of money into let's say future flights way
out into the future with Spirit Airlines, I don't know
that I would do it. They can give you all
the assurances, and let me tell you that airlines have
(15:16):
historically gone bankrupt. They go into like a Chapter eleven
type of a bankruptcy where it allows them to restructure
their creditor their debts and to make new deals with
their creditors. But they still operate, and there were times
back like in the eighties, where a number of airlines
were operating in Chapter eleven bankruptcy. So this isn't necessarily
(15:40):
you know, automatic that, oh, if you have Spirit Airlines tickets,
you're gonna lose all your money. That's not the case.
But I don't know that. Like, if I were planning
a summer vacation right now, I'd be buying June and
July and August tickets on Spirit Airlines. If I was
flying somewhere next week or next month, yeah, I'd probably
(16:01):
still consider them as part of my shopping, you know,
for the best deal. But I don't think i'd be
buying the tickets, you know, way out into the future,
because if they ultimately did go from like a reorganization
bankruptcy to a liquidation bankruptcy, then as a ticket holder,
you just become a creditor like everybody else, and chances
(16:24):
are you'd lose your money, and that's you know, at
a minimum, it might take you months or even years
to get your money back. If you ever did get
it back, Okay, Gateway Church in Texas. Everybody knows what's
going on the Robert Morris controversy. We're not going to
get into it here, but I'll just remind you, just
(16:46):
you know, quickly, that he was accused of being involved
inappropriately sexually with someone that was underage. And this was
a long time ago. He was in his early twenties
when this happened, and the young lady, the child which
is probably more appropriate to say, was like twelve years
(17:09):
old or thirteen years old. So this was like completely wrong.
I mean, there's no two ways about it. This is
not even like having an affair on your wife with
another adult. This is pedophilia, plain and simple. And he
was caught and he never really came clean on this.
(17:30):
So that's the allegation. We got to emphasize allegation. And
this victim has come forward and it's all in the news,
so you can read it all in the news and
see what's going to happen with this. But apparently the
victim was offered money. The victim is now, I guess
fifty years old, you know, somewhere in that range, and
over the years there's been financial negotiations about her keeping
(17:54):
quiet and not bringing this forward, and it's a mess.
So Robert Morris has stepped down as a pastor. So
this is like a big megachurch, and they have laid
off thirty five percent. They've they've laid off a large
amount of their staff, and that is after thirty five percent,
(18:16):
there's a thirty five percent drop in the tithes and
offerings that are coming into the church. And there's also
kind of this other weird kind of side situation going on,
which is that the church has offered to refund people
their tithes and offerings. And they did that because there
(18:40):
was some kind of controversy where allegedly the amount of
money that was supposed to be going to missions didn't
go to missions. And see this is where Jim Baker
got into a lot of trouble years ago. When you
raise money in a nonprofit organization and you ear market,
(19:02):
you tell your your your donors, this money is going
to go to X, cause it has to go to that.
You cannot just raise that money, you know, you know,
saying it's going to go to that thing and then
it doesn't go to that. So they had been publicly
promoting I guess for years that a percentage of their
(19:25):
overall you know uh money that they received in in
offerings would go towards missions, and then the allegation is
it didn't. So they offered people refunds and a lot
of people are taking them up on it. They're saying,
you know what, I want my money back. So there's that,
there's and now there's an investigation into Robert Morris's personal
(19:47):
finances because apparently he owns several multi million dollar properties
personally out that just could be legit. It could be
that maybe he's made good investments over the years. He's
an author, and some of these Christian authors make millions
(20:11):
of dollars, not me, but some of them do. Joel
Ostein makes millions of dollars on his books, and so
maybe it's all legit. But they're now investigating his personal finances,
and there's a lot of questions being raised about how
he ended up with all of this personal wealth and
so a lot of things going on, some kind of
(20:33):
funny accounting with that money allegedly not going to tithes
going to missions that was supposed to go to missions.
And then there's this scandal, and there's this alleged offer
to pay off this woman who claims she was abused
starting at age twelve, a lot of terrible things. And
(20:54):
now they're looking into his personal finances, so we'll just
have to continue to find So a big change happened
in the last twenty four hours in the war between
Russia and Ukraine. So, you know, the US and NATO
has really been helping Ukraine, providing them weapons, providing them technology, drones.
(21:19):
Elon Musk is letting them use his satellite Starlink to
target you know, Russian targets. Well, one of the requirements
or restrictions was that with the missiles that we were
providing to them, these longer range missiles, that they were
not allowed to launch them into the interior of Russia. However,
(21:43):
Biden has just come out and said go ahead, and
he's given them a much more latitude to launch these rockets,
these missiles into the interior of Russia. And the reason
why that's so critical and it comes on the news
that North Koreans are now sending their troops to fight
(22:04):
alongside the Russians, uh the Ukrainians, and I think that
may have been what provoked the Biden administration to allow
the missiles to be used for longer range targets. But
there was this idea that and the Russians have threatened
this that if the Ukrainians were ever given permission to
(22:25):
use these weapons, these these missiles, to use them on
the interior targets of Russia. So they were limited to
like just the border regions of Russia. But now they
can launch these well into the country itself. It was
it was thought, and the Russians had had said that
(22:47):
means that the US is at war with them also
if that were to be allowed. So we've now crossed
that line, and now we're going to see what happens
in this battle that can continues to rage and all
the poor people there that are affected by this. And
of course, if you need me to say it, I
don't care who I offend. I'm one hundred percent behind
(23:10):
Ukraine and I have so many wonderful friends here that
are Ukrainians, and I hope that with Trump coming into office,
we can end this war and end it on terms
that are fair, you know, to Ukraine, and that these
people can go back to living their lives in peace. Hey,
so the side gig money is getting to be really,
(23:34):
really fantastic with real picks. So I started this I
think about five months ago, and now I'm not kidding you,
Like tomorrow, I have an hour of work that I'll
get one hundred and twenty dollars for. So in the
beginning it wasn't there wasn't that much money. But now
(23:55):
it's growing, and that's for a lot of different reasons.
One is, you know, once you establish a reputation where
you're doing a good job, these companies will give you
more work, and that's really what's happened in my case.
But also there's been an increased demand, whether it's because
of the storms, because of an increase in foreclosures and
other things, there's a lot more demand for people to
(24:17):
go out and take these pictures. So what we're doing
is we're taking pictures on behalf of banks, mortgage companies,
and property management firms, and I teach you how to
do this. It's a complete turn key training on how
to get started. And I've got twelve free videos right
now that you can go watch if you want to
(24:39):
find out how you can do this. You can do
it totally part time. You can, you know, just dedicate
a few minutes in the morning, before work or after
work or even on your lunch break to take some pictures.
And some of these jobs pay you know, twenty dollars
to take five quick pictures from the street of a house,
and then others where you have to do a walk
(25:01):
through of the house and take pictures, can pay as
much as fifty or sixty dollars, So it really ranges.
But if you follow my system, not only will you
get plenty of work, but you'll also learn how to
work quickly so that you're making the most money per hour.
So check it out. Reelpicks dot us is the website.
(25:22):
I've got twelve free videos there for you, reelpicks dot us. Okay,
so this is crazy. In the last twenty eight days,
my Facebook page has had over two and a half
million views. Two and a half million views, And I
(25:43):
wish I could tell you, like the one thing I
did Boom, that this happened, But it really has been
a combination of a lot of things I've been doing
over the past year or so. Because I've getting so
much traffic, Facebook is now put me into an even
higher category of influencer where I'm getting paid now every
(26:06):
month from Facebook hundreds of dollars per month from Facebook
just for putting content up, just like what I would
normally do. And one of the things I'm thinking about
doing is kind of a short maybe like a forty
five minute video to share with people. Kind of the
best practices for Facebook, and obviously any kind of business
(26:30):
you're in, by building a following, you're going to be
able to use that to build your business. So I'm
thinking about putting together a short video maybe you know,
forty minutes something like that sharing with people. The things
over the last year I've been doing that has really
skyrocketed my engagement on Facebook, and now I've gotten to
(26:53):
this point of being a paid influencer on Facebook. All right,
and we'll close it up with this Bitcoin reaching another
new high ninety one thousand dollars, And there's a lot
of speculation, you know, why is cryptocurrency doing so well?
If you haven't heard the news. Trump is very pro crypto.
(27:17):
He even has a proposal that would make US based
cryptocurrency tax free. How exciting would that be if something
like that went through To be able to make all
this money on cryptocurrency and then not even have to
pay taxes on it. So that's exciting and what is
(27:39):
to come here over the next four years with Trump
with cryptocurrency, and now his close alliance with Elon Musk,
who of course is super pro cryptocurrency as well, It's
going to be a great and exciting future for crypto.
All right, thanks so much for joining us. If you
want to get in touch, you can private message me
(28:00):
on Facebook or send me an email. This email goes
right to my phone, so I see it right away.
I can answer you right away. James L. Paris at
gmail dot com. James Lparis at gmail dot com. Maybe
there's something you want me to dress on the show.
Maybe you have a comment on something I've talked about,
or you disagree with something. I'd like to get that
(28:23):
feedback as well. Have a great week, God bless we'll
talk to you next time. So long, everybody,
