Speaker 1 (00:43):
You're listening to Jim Paris Live, your source for the
latest news on money, politics, prophecy, and preparedness, and now
your host, the editor in chief of Christian Money dot
com and the author of more than thirty books, Jim Paris.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
All right, hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of
the broadcast. Wow, a lot is going on. I have
to tell you so last night my band we normally play,
you know, music of the seventies, some music of the sixties,
and we play a lot of music like by bands
like Chicago, et cetera. But one night a year for charity,
(01:22):
we become a German oompah band, and that's what we
did last night in Ormond Beach, raising money for the
school there. And it was a lot of fun and
they fed us very well. We got to have an
authentic German dinner and I just absolutely love that food.
I wish there were more places that serve German food.
(01:44):
It's kind of like you got to go out of
your way to find a German restaurant. We've got one
here in Mount Dora, just outside of Orlando, than one
north of Orlando in Sandford, but you just don't you
don't find that there's bratwursts and the sour crowd, all
that great German food that was last night. And I'm
(02:04):
loving law school. So what's going on. We're in midterms
right now, so that's a little bit stressful, but going well.
And I will be in two mock trials in November.
And this is really cool. Our law school has like
a full courtroom, and I mean like a real courtroom.
(02:25):
It is so cool. You know, You've got like that
big giant desk in the front where the judge sits,
and you've got a jury box, and you've got the
tables for the lawyers and all the seats for those
that are watching. And it is a legit courtroom. And
we use that for these these mock trials they call them,
(02:48):
and it is a very interesting opportunity, you know, to start,
you know, stretching your muscles a little bit flexing your
muscles as a future lawyer. So I'm in on two
of them. So this is going to be exciting. And
that's coming up here in just a few weeks. So
the government shutdown has begun. The government has been If
(03:09):
you're listening when the program first drops here, which is
on Sundays, we've been down already. I think the government's
been shut down like three or four days. It is interesting, though,
how many people don't really understand what a government shutdown is.
You still have the older people that are worried about
(03:31):
not getting Social Security, which of course is exempt from
a government shutdown. You're always going to get your Social Security.
Most of the services that people really rely on just
continue on. Somebody showed a pie chart not too long
ago where they showed like, actually, what gets shut down
during a government shutdown. It's really not a lot of things.
(03:54):
I guess if you were in Washington, d C. The
museums are not going to be open, things like that.
But and yes, you know, some of the workers with
the government, they don't get their paychecks, but they kind
of get a free vacation because once they come back
to work, they get all their back pay. I don't
even know what it purpose. It really serves the government shutdown.
(04:17):
But it's all about, you know, trying to you know,
make a new budget deal here going into the next
fiscal year for the government and the liberals, the Democrats,
they just they want to spend more and the Conservatives don't.
And so we are where we're at, as we have
been many many times in the past. I continue to
(04:40):
find it really shocking how these blue cities that are
crime ridden do not want federal law enforcement to help
them out. It's not just oh, hey, thanks for the offer,
We're not really interested, you know, don't send in the
National Guard or federal law enforcement. We're good. It's literally
(05:04):
almost like we're going to go to a civil war here,
like you are not bringing your troops in to make
my city safe. And they've already proven that it worked
in Washington, d C. It worked well, and they've got
full cooperation in Memphis, where I think the troops have
(05:25):
already started in I think New Orleans. But they're looking
at Chicago. And man, I'm telling you that that Illinois
Governor Pritzker, he is this guy's unhinged. I mean he is,
you know, literally egging on these protesters that are not
only harassing and protesting Ice, but the other day they
(05:50):
had them boxed in there was a shootout. It's unbelievable.
I mean, are we on the brink of a civil war?
I think we might be. And you've got like Pritzk
are almost using that type of language threatening the Trump
administration about sending in federal troops the National Guard into
(06:12):
the city of Chicago, which you know, if you live
in Chicago, it's just not safe anymore. It used to
be what people used to say. I'm from Chicago, so
what people used to say was, oh, you know, the
city is safe. As long as you stay out of
certain neighborhoods late at night, you're going to be fine.
But it's just not the case anymore. There are carjackings
(06:34):
and crime happening just in broad daylight, happening in the
rich shopping areas what they call the Miracle Mile in
downtown Chicago. This is no longer just kind of stay
out of the wrong neighborhoods and you'll be fine. Chicago
has a serious crime problem that is just getting worse,
(06:55):
and it's just shocking. The only theory I have is
that if the Feds came in and actually did bring
the crime down. It would be embarrassing for the mayor
of Chicago. It would embarrassed, embarrassing for the governor of Chicago,
of Illinois. I don't know. It's it's it's shocking because
(07:20):
you think, like, at the end of the day, are
we not all human beings that want to keep our
fellow citizens safe? And if there's somebody offering to do
that at no cost to you, Hey, We'll bring in
all these people to make your city safer. Why would
you be against that? I just can't process it. You know,
(07:42):
maybe it is just as simple as that, the embarrassment
of bringing attention to a problem that they've had a
long time to solve, years to solve, and haven't done
nearly anything to do so. All right, there is controversy
over an AI app. It's called Text with Jesus, and
(08:06):
somebody has created this app where you can go on
your phone download this app and you can text message
with Jesus and different notable characters from the Bible. And
how this is all done with AI is somebody has
you know, created like these characters inside of the program
(08:31):
that supposedly will give you an answer such as you know,
what would Moses say about X? And you can go
in there and type in your question and people are
saying this is this is ridiculous. If you want to
talk to Jesus, you pray you don't use the text
with Jesus' app. But I do want to talk about
(08:54):
this for a minute or two because I have this
thought that AI is really going. In five years or less,
AI is gonna be something like on a whole new
level that none of us could ever imagine. So right now,
when people think of AI, they think of like chat
(09:15):
GPT where you go in and you type in a question,
and a lot of people just use chat GPT as
maybe like a smarter Google search. But you may not
know this, but you can actually turn on a feature
in chat GPT where it will talk to you like
a person. And yes, we're getting into space Odyssey two
(09:39):
thousand and one, right, I mean, where like is this
a computer or is this real?
Speaker 1 (09:46):
And so.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Within five years, maybe even less, you're gonna have almost
like people that are created that are just AI. They've
already got this going right now. There are there are
AI singers that are creating music and posting it on
YouTube and these are not real people, So follow me
(10:11):
on this. This is like a computerized creation that has
some kind of brain from you know, an intelligence, artificial intelligence,
whatever you want to call it, and they've created like,
actually what this person looks like in everything, and it is.
(10:32):
It is fooling people thinking that, oh, this is a
real person who wrote a new song and it's on YouTube.
And there was one I read about last week where
this AI personality who wrote a song and published it.
And again we're not talking about a real person. This
is totally an AI personality that was created by somebody.
(10:54):
They were offered some kind of a movie role. Some
agents were calling them, offering them a role in a movie,
not even knowing this is not a real person. This
is an artificially created being in cyberspace. But as we
think about this, the one thing that is chilling when
(11:16):
you think about the text with Jesus app and some
of these other things that are happening with AI is
the Antichrist and AI. And a lot of people believe that,
and I'm one of them that either the Antichrist will
be I personally think the Antichrist is going to be
(11:39):
a hybrid being like okay, on the one hand, the
Antichrist is human, but on the other hand is maybe
a hybrid meaning partly computer, partly human. And then there's
going to be that AI element. But when you understand
what is happening with AI, and there's a term if
(12:02):
you want to look this up, if this interests you,
it's called singularity. Singularity is when AI reaches the point
that we have we lose control of it. That is
that AI becomes so intelligent that it doesn't need us anymore,
(12:22):
and it kind of goes off on its own and
starts creating and takes charge. In other words, the fear
is and I don't think it's a baseless fear that
someday AI is running the world and we're answering to computers,
if you can imagine that. But text with Jesus. All right, So,
(12:47):
if you've been following the saga of Robert Morris, this
is the Dallas, Texas Megachurch pastor. This is something that
goes all the way back to the days when he
was a very young man. I believe Robert Morris is
in his early sixties presently, but if you go back
(13:09):
about forty years, he was a young pastor just getting
started and there were sexual allegations against him with an
underaged woman. When I say underage woman, I want to
say reports are young teens like twelve thirteen year old
(13:33):
girl when this started. And if you don't know about
the story, you've been living under a rock. Because he
was not only dismissed from his church, but then in
Oklahoma where this all happened, he was indicted. And the
news this week about the fallen pastor Robert Morris is
(13:54):
that he has agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors
to serve six months months in prison, which is really
a sweetheart deal, you know, if what he is accused
of doing, which is having sex with a very young
teen young lady twelve thirteen years old, if that is
(14:19):
in fact what happened, to serve only six months is
a sweetheart deal for him, But he will be a
convicted sexual predator and everything that goes along with that.
And I believe that there is still civil litigation pending
where he is seeking millions from his church that he
(14:41):
claims is owed to him in retirement benefits, in book
royalties and things like that. So another major figure, you know,
among Evangelical Christianity, you know, going down in disgrace. Axios
is reporting that fifteen thousand churches are expected to close
(15:06):
this year. Fifteen thousand churches, And there's a lot of
reasons behind it. You know, Sometimes when I just drive
around that I live in Orlando, Florida now, sometimes when
I drive around certain areas, especially west of Orlando, I
(15:27):
see so many churches and I keep thinking, Wow, there's
another church. There's another church, there's another church. And I
keep thinking, who goes all of these churches. I mean, obviously,
there was a time when everybody got up on Sunday
morning and went to church, and that was, you know,
more the norm than it is today where most people
(15:48):
don't go to church. And I think that's part of it,
a societal shift of people that are just generally not
church goers anymore. But I also think it is a
little bit of kind of rethinking what church is. And
I have often thought that the New Testament model for
(16:10):
what church should be is probably closer to a home
church than what we see now, where they go out
and buy the land and they built a big building
and they have these big services. I'm not against any
of that. I'm just saying that there are a lot
of people finding more connection in smaller settings like Bible studies,
(16:35):
you know, men's groups that meet maybe on a Friday
morning at seven am, or home based churches that are
now starting to pop up all across the country. I
don't know. I posted this on my Facebook. I got
a wide range of reactions. Some people said, this is
not right. Fifteen thousand churches are not going to close
(16:57):
this year. We're in a revive. People are coming back
to the Lord like never before. I think it could
all be true. You know, it's not mutually exclusive. I
think it is true that there is a revival going on,
but I think there's also a great falling away going on,
(17:17):
the apostasy, as was predicted in the Book of Revelation.
I think we have both going on. We have, you know,
some people becoming more on fire for the Lord, and
then lots of more people becoming lukewarm in their faith.
So fifteen thousand churches will close this year, that's a
big number and we'll have to wait and see. So
(17:39):
the big story this week other than the government shutdown,
was the sentencing of rapper, musician producer Sean Diddy. Combs
was sentenced to four years and two months in prison,
which again, here's another sweetheart deal for a guy who
they say, because of time already served, he's only looking
(18:01):
at fifteen months more and that could possibly be reduced
if he has good behavior in prison, So maybe he's
going to be in prison for another year or so
it sounds like. But what was interesting about this case
he had so many charges, he was indicted on so
many charges. There were thoughts that, you know, he was
(18:23):
going the way of r. Kelly, This guy was never
going to see the light of day again, and for
him to get out of this with with such minimal
convictions and minimal time, but talk about Hubris. What he
did was thinking he was just going to be released
on time served. He had actually booked appearances for himself
(18:46):
to take place for this week, which is, you know,
right after his sentencing hearing, so he was already planning
and banking on being out and this was actually brought
up by prosecutters and not a good look to be
presuming he was getting out, And a lot of people
(19:07):
were very disappointed that he did not get much more
prison time for whatever you want to say about legally
and convicted or not convicted on a moral basis, this
is a bad guy who's lived a really bad life,
and I don't think anybody can dispute that. And it
(19:29):
seems like somehow, maybe with good lawyers, he was able
to get out of this without very much time. Actor
Richard Gear believes that Trump has quote almost destroyed the
country end quote in just six months. Of course, who
(19:49):
cares what Richard Gear thinks. But it is interesting because
I'm not necessarily around Let's say this, in law school,
we really you don't talk about politics. I think it's
just something we don't get into. So when I do
have an occasion, like last night when I was with
some friends playing with the band, and you do hear
(20:13):
the you know, the topic of politics pop up, I
was really not aware at how fired up and just
jacked up these liberals are about Trump. They think it
is the literal end of the world right now. And
I am not kidding you. And so here's Richard Gear
(20:37):
weighing in. You know, these people that make their money
as pretend play is what I call it. You know,
you're you're not you're not a real you. You're not
a real lawyer. You're in a movie pretending to be
a lawyer. That's how you make your living. Pretend play.
That's fine, and you might be great at your craft.
(20:58):
And I think Richard gear is a great actor, but
we don't care about your what you have to say
about politics. And I always think to myself, what do
these actors have to gain to come out and alienate
at least half of their audience by being political. I
don't understand it, but it's becoming more and more of
(21:21):
the case, and a lot of people upset with Richard
year on my Facebook page at least, I think that
was the post I did this week that got the
biggest reaction. And the NFL does it again. Just when
you thought that the NFL might be coming to their senses.
This year, the halftime Super Bowl show will be with
(21:44):
the gender fluid ice hating Bad Bunny. Look, I didn't
know who Bad Bunny was. I remember as a kid
growing up, there was an episode of Bugs Bunny where
there was sort of an alter ego which was a
bad version of Bugs Bunny going up against Bugs Bunny.
(22:06):
Is that Bad Bunny? I don't know. I guess I
don't get out enough. So I started looking intot you know,
who is this bad Bunny character? So he's from Puerto Rico.
There are lots of pictures of him online wearing dresses. Yes,
and he is very very militantly against immigration and customs
(22:28):
enforcement and the agents and all of that. And so
here we go. He is going to be the halftime
show at Super Bowl. And the NFL is defending this,
saying they're trying to reach kind of a new audience. Yeah,
so you know, maybe the NFL feels like, hey, there's
a niche we have missed, which is men wearing dresses.
(22:52):
We're not getting enough of those people to watch the games.
We want to really reach out to this new constituency
of men and dresses. So we're going to bring in
Bad Bunny. So this is again you know, me just
saying I have no use for the NFL, I have
no interest. And here we go again. Bad Bunny will
(23:12):
be headlining the Super Bowl. And just as we close
it out, you know, we're talking about AI, we're talking
about the Antichrist, we're talking about the apostasy. And Europe
is now announcing that they're getting rid of passport stamps
and going forward they're going to be using fingerprints and
(23:36):
face scans. You know, as you move between countries in Europe,
and you know, as you enter into Europe, and if
you've been, if you've traveled in Europe, it is it
is interesting. So there's a little bit of a kind
of a tough immigration screen when you first come in
from the United States. You know, your flight lands, you're
at the airport, you go through like more of a
(23:59):
full immigration screening. But then once you're inside Europe. It's
funny how, I don't know. I guess I could say
that among the European countries it's almost like moving between
states in the United States, how you know. So let's
say that I'm on a train in Italy and I
(24:19):
go to Switzerland. The train may not even stop at
the Switzerland border. It might and they might come on
board and ask people for passports and all that, but
then again it may not. And the few times I've
made that train trip between Italy and Switzerland, I was
never never checked, So you know, it's a little bit
(24:41):
different over there. But they have this one rule in
the EU that if you're a tourist, you can only
stay for ninety days. Then you have to leave for
ninety days, and then you can come back again for
ninety days. Now you can get different types of visa permission,
you know, if you're you're there as a student, or
(25:01):
if you have a work visa, those kind of things,
but just as a tourist, you're only allowed for ninety days.
But this is what they're moving to. So, uh, mark
of the Beast, right, isn't that what we're talking about
the Book of Revelation, The idea that at some point,
you know, it's it's gonna it's gonna be no cash,
(25:22):
everything's gonna be operated with the Mark of the Beast.
And we're already really there. I mean, I have an
annual ticket to Disney, and when I go into Disney,
I can I scan my fingerprint and I U scan
my phone, you know, which is my ticket is on
my phone, and then I put my finger on the
(25:44):
fingerprint reader and that's how I get into Disney. And
one of my friends told me this week that he
knows someone that had a chip implanted in their hand,
a small chip, it's like the size of a grain
of rice. And now this person can wave their hand
and it unlocks their car and starts their car. It
(26:04):
opens up the front door to their house, it unlocks
their computer without a password. It does all this cool
stuff quote unquote as he described it, and I thought,
man Mark of the Beast, the technology is obviously already here,
all right. Thanks for joining us. Continuing to pump these
(26:25):
out every week, and the downloads are getting larger and larger,
So help out the show. Go to iTunes, write a review,

We'll talk to you next time. So long, everybody s
