Speaker 1 (00:01):
The following Here's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club High Cowboys Nation. My
(00:22):
name is Cash and we are back for another Boots
in the Bubble. Yes, another one, another one. We are
here with your favorite Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. You've got some
rock stars on this one tonight. Let me tell you,
I was so excited when I found at I was
gonna be hang out with floor today, but you were
(00:44):
gonna get the inside scoop on all things Dallas Cowboys
Cheerleaders Training Camp twenty twenty. Here in the bubble from
these four girls. First of all, starting us off, we've
got Kelsey. Hello. Hello, I'm Kelsey. I am twenty four
years old from Omaha, Nebraska, and Um, tonight was one
(01:05):
of actually my favorite nights because we actually got to
contemporary with a guest choreographer. So um, coming from a
good night, I am in a great mood. Oh yeah,
feeling all those good dance vibes for the rest of
the week. Yeast in our chat. Also, we've got Lily. Hi.
(01:28):
My name is Lily. I am also twenty four years
old and I am originally from Dance Urge Tennessee, which
is in East Tennessee close to the Smoky Mountains. And
tonight was also really amazing, and I have chicks away
on its way from Uber Eat, so I'm also in
a great moods the Nuggets all right. Next up, we've
(01:50):
got Caroline. What's up, everybody? I'm Caroline. I'm like, what's up?
Columbiums Free? And I gotta agree with Cash, I think
this might be the best little podcast we have right here,
going yeah, the coolest girls on the team, so proclaimed manifested.
(02:18):
I'm here for it, right unless certainly not last, we've
got cats in the house. Let's go. Hey, y'all, my
name's Kat. I'm originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, and I
am just really excited. I feel like it's gonna be
a good podcast, Like we've got a good group and
(02:39):
we're gonna turn up a little bit on a Tuesday.
We are getting as I can tell that it has
been a great day from your all's moods and everything,
So you might be having some fun here in the bubble,
right Lily, I mean this is better than being stuck
(03:00):
at homework, and right, yes, definitely, I think we've all
been very anxious to finally be dancing together. You know,
there was a date and then it was pushedback, and
then it was pushedback, and it was the fact of
finally be all together and dancing and hearing the music
and hearing the energy and like thunderstruck for the first
time and all of that. It's been so refreshing, and
it honestly felt like Christmas Eve, like the day before
(03:23):
we came here because the jitters, and yeah, it's been
a great time so far. It's exceeded all my expectations.
So I can't wait for the next week to come.
Your eyes definitely long overdue. It's like we're used to
spending every day with each other and then it's like,
wait a minute, why why can't we see our friends
like you want to do? So Caroline kind of lead
(03:48):
us in here too, like from day to day, like
what's your daily schedule looking like? And how is it
different from being quarantined at home? And you know, you're
kind of like on your own schedule and there's really
not a whole lot going on into here, and it's
like it's got a place to be and it's a
jam pack day from the time you wake up to
the time you got a bit kind of walk us
through that, and um, that's been sort of different from
(04:09):
your summer, and then all of a sudden it's like
over not You're just like what, I no, I kind
of feel like we're a like summer camp right now.
I don't know coming into this, I thought I brought
some books sinking, like I was going to be like
lounging for like seven hours a night to sleep and
(04:30):
then you leave. And but honestly, it's like, every time
I look around everyone, I'm like, this is literally so fun.
Like we're all best friends anyway. So being here, once
you get back in your hotel or at night by yourself,
you're like, oh, I actually miss everyone. But yeah, So
every day we kind of have a schedule lined up
for us. Breakfast is really early and they put away
(04:51):
the cob at a certain time, so if you like
walk down there ten minutes later, like you just just
missed the breakfast. So like that s breakfast, and then
we usually have like a rehearsal schedule that we follow,
so you know, everyone's got to get all pampered up
with their hair and makeup, so you spend a little
bit of time doing that. Then we get together and
(05:12):
start rehearsals. We perform for Judy and Kelly every day,
which obviously adds a little bit of nerves. But you know,
I don't know that summer camp vibe has been really fun.
I'm like really enjoying myself here. Yeah, but we've stayed
really really busy. We were just talking about how our
necks are getting more sore each day because we're like
every day dance it again, and it's I think it's
(05:34):
better than being quarantined at home because we were just
faced on each other every day and a space, which
is fun. So good time, staying busy, working hard. You know, Kelsey,
what do you think has been Like? I guess since
you all have been here, what wasn't the latest not
that you all were out actually pretty much working even
on your own, not just like outside of rehearsal. So
(05:58):
we since we've come, we haven't really had rehearsal super late,
I don't think. But then after rehearsal, I'm always so
wired because you just have so much anxiety the whole time.
You go home, and then I would go and practice,
I'm like, Okay, I'm gonna practice for like thirty minutes,
just go over my solo and then I run into
a friend and then like Kat and we end up
(06:20):
in a studio for like four hours and it's one
am and we're like, oh, Trevy, all right, probably time
to go to bed. So you have to be I'm
super early for breakfast to get coffee in the morning, right,
Oh honestly, probably like one for no good reason, but
which at least you can just walk short, you know,
and get to your bed quick. You don't have to
(06:40):
write SAR and go home and deal with all that stuff.
So yes, yeah, the convenience is not I will say, yes,
all right, So Kat, what's you're so far since you've
been here, what's been your favorite day? And why? I
didn't even have to be about dancing, because I just
want to know. I feel like you've got some like
interest that we never know about, you know, So it's like,
(07:03):
what have you been the most entertained by? Okay, so
the most I mean today it was a rock star
day for me. I'm just throwing that out there. Oh yeah,
in their heart owned to day. I will say last night,
I feel like after we had practice, we all I
(07:25):
feel like the majority of the vets just sat down
and had dinner. Like obviously we're all spaced out and
like four to a table, but we all got to
like talk distantly, and it felt so good just to
be back and like just chit chat like you can
normally do and just be like, what is going on
with you? What is this worst day? You have a boyfriend?
Like what is all this good stuff? So it was
(07:45):
so nice because you do you just need your girl time,
like your girl talk. And it's cool. We're face time
and everything. We FaceTime every day, like yeah, basically every day,
but you need like that at least to be like
around each other, even though it's six feet apart, Like
we need to be like in each other's quarters so
we can have that connection. So that was perfect, Like
I needed that little job last night. It's like playing
(08:07):
catch up from months because you're to spending every waking
hour with with you mites right well, overthe last four
months you've not been able to, so I can imagine
you'll have plenty of catching up to do. Well. I
was quarantine with Cassey, so that was so we've gotten
plenty of each other. Yeah, like not think some funny anymore.
(08:36):
That's all I used to me. She is, Oh, come on,
Cat Stefan, You're used to your star chasm because I'm
so golible and so she always used to mess with me,
and I believe it because I'm most global person on
earth and I've gotten used to it and I can
call her out on it now, so it's not fun. Yeah,
(08:57):
you figure outing quarantine. So I have to address the obvious.
All of our curtains are the same. This has been
my favorite thing that I've seen in the comments so far.
So you all have the same curtains. It's like, yes,
we do, Cat miss the memo in front of her door,
(09:20):
but what do you got tape on the wall behind you? Cat?
Oh sorry, I just muted myself. It's you have to
wear taped on the door to just in case, just
so little reminders, little reminder. So speaking of if you
(09:42):
forget who you were? Um, one of our questions and
was and I think it's really ironic because I didn't
think about it, just because I get so used to
being around you all, but it was, what does cash
do now? So? Um ll right? I was like, oh,
I guess I've never really addressed that, So I'm gonna
like I can kind of fill you all in on everything.
After I retired last lord, I guess it was twenty
(10:06):
nineteen of May. I got hired back on full time
in August. My actual job title is events sales, so
I work with corporate clients and people all over the
Metroplex and even beyond to set up appearances and performances
for the girls. And I get to work really close
with Judy on setting up state and staging most of
our show group performances, and I get to work with
(10:29):
them on some other sython stuff. So I am here
in the bubble with the girls obviously for a reason,
and I'm not rejoining the team. No, those days over
we wish. I mean, I broke down every once in
a while. Still I'll call out a tag every now
and then a little, a little thith on. But anyway,
(10:50):
so I wanted to address that just in case we
work confused, like why is it just cash on here?
I'm on staff now, I work closely with Kelly and Judy.
But I'm super blessed to continue to get to work
with you guys, because I'm telling you, I would be
so sad without you all, and I'm just plumped to
be able to like spend time with you guys, even
if it is from like way over there. So with
(11:13):
that being said about way over there, we had a
virtual banquet this year. Yeah, Um, Caroline, I want to know,
was it hard to do the virtual banquet and like
see your friends through your screen and not really really
be able to like live in the moment of um
wrapping up that wrapping up your season, Like how important
(11:33):
it is to just have that like significant finish and
start of a new season, right it was? It was
so different. First, let me start, we have our Rookie
of the year in here. Oh my gosh, we did
no sore in here right now? Right, So Caroline and
(11:58):
Cash like more, Lily, which one to do? Like more?
You know, it was all virtual and just in comparison
to you know, my first season, you really felt like
that was the ending of the season. The Vets who
were retiring like Shara got to do you know, all
the pictures and all the tears happened, And yeah, definitely
(12:21):
sort of like bitter sweet, especially during the slide show,
it kind of hit me that looking at all the
pictures so at the season of the amount of appearances
and trips we had taken and all the game day pictures.
It sort of put that perspective on, like wild, we
are truly so blessed and have been so blessed to
(12:42):
get to do what we do and to have the
platform that we do. So I think it was sort
of a kind of wake up call too that you know,
you better be thankful for each day that you have
and really live in the moment, you know, every day
doing what you're doing, because you never know, when you
know that thunderstruck kickline might not be happening anymore. So
(13:02):
it was kind of sad, but I'm still very thankful
that we did it. At least I think the rookies
definitely deserved, you know, their recognition and the support from
the veterans that they finished that first season and made
it through. So fingers crossed that extra we will have
one in person, but if not, you know, we already
did it. We know how to make it work. So yeah,
that's true. Yeah, our three newest second year veterans here
(13:26):
in camp as candidates. Y'all got your pinky rings? Show off?
There they are breaking. Wow. Check that one off the list, y'all. Wow. Okay, So,
speaking of um being so fancy. Uh, we have got
(13:47):
some really great music on our sidelines this year. I'm
not gonna lie. I mean they were some bangers. I've
been like over on the sidebine getting down. I don't
know if y'all see me, like I have my hat
on tonight, I was like, this is that song tonight? Um?
What was it called pretty Please by Duelipa? So fun?
(14:07):
I love that song so and that kind of like
started like to make like make me start to think
like about like how songs really like demand um or
they can like change your like mood and your attitude,
and like I love to think about like I have
like a walkout song, like you know, and like baseball
and stuff, you know that each each player can have
(14:28):
like a walkout song. It's like if you could pick
your like, your attitude, your whatever song, that would be
that when you walk out on at and T Stadium field,
you're just like they're like, what song is your cheer attitude? Uh,
let's see Kat give it to us first. Okay, Well,
mine's gonna be so lame. Everyone's gonna have like these
awesome open songs and then I'm just gonna be like
(14:51):
but always think like there's always one song, there's two
songs always stuck in my head. This is not a
cheer song. The song I always see when it kills
and uh, that's why you know, yeah with the girl
I can do it. I always that three always stuck
(15:13):
in my head constantly. Or everybody wants to be a cat? Oh,
who knows where it's that. That's a good one for you.
You sneak a little like m We'll come up and
get you a little bit. That's that's a good cat song.
(15:35):
Speaking of again, sneaky, you just had an incident with
your cat, like talk about struggles of the bubble. First
of all. That's why it's like a main story of
training camp. Like any training camp, something's gonna go wrong
with my cat and hidden. I mean we've been gone
for what four days, three days, I don't know how
long how long we've been here. He's been hidden up
(15:57):
underneath my bed for war five four or five days.
And yeah, Amanda's family just found him. So good, at
least they found him. At least they found him. He's
gonna eat now, so it'll be fine, good good. Um
let's see literally give us your your walkout song. Whatever
(16:19):
convin like whatever you just see like in your head
theme music. Okay, Well, I'm a huge Katie parryy fan.
She's like my all time favorite singer. If you haven't
seen her in concert, she's amazing. I have baby, so
she might not be on tour right now, but she's amazing.
Everyone should see her live. Um. So I have multiple
favorite songs from her. Um, I think Firework by Katy
(16:39):
Perry and yeah, that is so like a feel good song.
And I think like when we're out all the field
dancing together, if we're in you know, studio, dance together.
Here's the question. Um, we just always had that like
feel good moment of like having all of us around
each other and that kind of what that song brings
to me. And also before the NFL band Thief Works
(17:00):
on the fields and we would exit the tunnel and
it would be like fireworks in the back the best
part of the game. It was so incredible. I think
us second years only had like one game like that
before that no carwork rule was put into a fact. Yeah. Yeah,
I think that just kind of summarizes all the good
fields and um, everything that being on the team and
(17:22):
performing on the fields and bodies. That's a good one, geez,
talk about like getting the party started. I'm here for that,
right pleaser it is? It is all right, Gil, it's
yours all right. Shania Twain is my idol. I live
and breathe her, so I'm gonna have to go with
(17:43):
me and I feel like a woman. Um yes, I
just love her, like everything about her. Maybe party for
two by her? O yes, so I think about parts.
If you ever want, expect a full on duet with
you and cat to that so well, practice tonight will
(18:04):
come back sometimes show offs at dinner tomorrow, dinner in
a show either good? All right, Carol, what's your sing song?
My theme song would have to be something like something
j Lo like like up, you know, like I feel
(18:26):
like every time I walk out, just like oh oh,
like the backs like pool pool. I don't know. I'm
always hands fun like I don't know. I always sayed
everyone like I love cheerleading so much, and we love cheerleading,
so yes, love something like really hype some girly. Those
(18:51):
are all in song choices, Wow, a little mix of
all of it. I don't know. If I had to
pick one would probably be like God, I don't know
if I want to roasted for this, but it'd be like,
I don't know, grian like country girl or shake it girl,
(19:12):
Yeah oh yeah parton song like we're going now or
something I could throw down the sun? Did you? She said,
that's like on one like new channel. She like figured
out that with her nails that or whatever. And I'm like,
m sounds like us sitting around and practice, like thinking
(19:32):
about like all the random stuff, like while we're waiting
on Kelly and Judy to get their stuff together all
like or picking out your rand stuns on your rebel
like y zipper creative real creative. Okay, So the last
(19:53):
thing before we have to go, which it always breaks
my heart because I love getting to just hang out
with you guys, even though like rooms apart and you're
still get in the chat. Um as we move on
like into creating our new twenty twenty team. Um here
in this crazy bubble that's sterile and we're all so
(20:18):
far safe and healthy. Um, what is one thing that
you wish you could have you could do here in
the bubble that you've done in training camps in the past,
So like whether that was an event that you got
to do during training camp last year or um, something
that you all like, something like something like a tradition
(20:39):
that you would do every night after practice, like we'd
go get like frozen yogurt or something, you know, and
like that kind of stuff. Like what's one thing that
you wish you could bring back from like training camps past?
Here in the bubble let's see. Oh yeah, I love
a girl. It's a little like you can see also
(21:02):
my answer, so, um, I would say the locker room time. Um,
it was one of my favorite parts of past two
training camps. Um, just kind of in between time the
before rehearsal where everyone's kind of running three things, but
then also after rehearsal because like the way off your
shoulders you left like everything like out in the studio
for Kelly and Judy and you know sometimes they take
(21:24):
a little bit of time talking sober before they make decisions. Um.
But just sat locker room time when we're like just
so slap happy, but just like laying on top of
each other, I mean cash and like Heather and I
forget who else had like rap battles one year, Yes,
we were reminiscing on that we laid on the island
(21:47):
out but yeah, I got to turn twenty two in
that locker room and you guys played Birthday by Katie
Perry and just like, yeah, so I feel like the
locker room time just like I mean, we get to
be around each other, but we have to be six
feet apart, we have to have our mask on, so
it's not the same. So I would say the locker
room is something I'm really missing because that's always just
(22:07):
such a cherished time of everything. PCC. That was a
good answer. The answer literally A plus plus, literally a
plus plus. Okay, Cat, now you're turning, you better have
something good come on, Okay. So I will never forget
when the that's had an appearance are when we first
went to the stadium and they came out in their
(22:30):
uniforms and when I'm telling you, the chills I got
when I saw I was like you, those are so beautiful,
Like that moment is like I will never I will.
It was tailored, and I was like you just look
so rifient, like I want to I want to be
in this like and getting to see them like and
touch her and be in the flesh and seeing like
(22:51):
the uniform in real life, like before we even had uniform,
ddings and everything. We just got to see them be
in their prime and they were just killing it like
all that should always do. But that moment that we
you know, we don't get right now, but it was,
it was perfect. And I think just having that representation
of like seeing what if that looks like and seeing
(23:11):
you could be is is amazing. You're at the uniform
itself is something that's like God, stop your tracks when
you see it, especially when you see it in action
like the girls on stage and are on the field
or something. So that that actually, that's a pretty good one.
I don't give it just like an I plus Okay, oh,
(23:33):
that's an I plus plus moment. I know exactly what
you're talking about. Yeah, Kelsey, what's your one thing you
wish you could bring into the one like moment that
you could bring into the bubble. So I'll do my
sabby one first. It's been so hard not to hug
my teammates last year. I swear that is exactly what
(23:54):
got me through, Like I would probably broke it down
emotially and just not be able to hug each other. Honestly,
I'm such a hugger. It makes you feel so much
better and feel so loved, and like when you just
turn we have to be six feet apart. You just
kind of look at each other and you kind of
forget that you can't. Yeah, horrible, it's horrible because all
of us it's such a habit to just run out
(24:15):
to each other, love on each other constantly, but we
can't really do that. So that really stinks. And my
other one is um so it's like I get nice,
I get too. Sorry everyone, Cats and I lived together
not anymore badly, but it's fine. We moved in with
each other like halfway through training camp and after like
(24:39):
a tough night, we just look at each other and
be like, so do you do you want to get
the ice cream? Or do you want me to get
the ice cream? Like you get the ice cream, I'll
go get the burgers. Like ing each other and being
able to go home and rest. Everything that was really
(25:00):
I just have her and go get treats and stuff.
But treat treat yourself, I scream in the bubble. Oh yeah,
we see, wen't see what we can do. We'll work
on that one, all right. Caroline. Finish us up here
(25:21):
with your something you miss or one which that you
had here in the bubble something I miss. So this
team is like really big on birthdays every year. I
when I came in
