John T. Bennett has covered Washington’s policy and political debates for nearly two decades, focusing at various stops on the Pentagon, Congress, and the White House. He was the senior White House correspondent for CQ Roll Call for nearly a half-decade and was most recently the Washington bureau chief for the Independent. Bennett’s work has also appeared in the Hill, USA Today, Defense News, and other major publications. Joe Biden will be the fourth president he has covered — along with four speakers of the House (Nancy Pelosi twice), six Senate majority leaders (Chuck Schumer will be the seventh), one “fiscal cliff” threat, too many government shutdown fights to recall, and five presidential Thanksgiving turkey pardons.
