He graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in England, received a Queen’s Commission in 1985, and served as a Captain in the Jamaica Defense Force until 1992.   He joined the first Jamaican bobsled team and competed in the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary, inspiring the Disney movie Cool Runnings. He also competed in the 1992 and 1998 Winter Olympics.   Devon founded the Keep On Pushing Foundation in 2006 to support education in disadvantaged communities and currently runs breakfast and school supplies programs. As an athlete ambassador for Right to Play, he supports child development through sports in refugee camps. Devon has been recognized as an Olympian For Life by the World Olympian Association.
