Thank you so much TS forinviting me here and hello to everyone.
Thank you so much for listening.
Well, we're just glad to haveyou here and I say we just dive right
in.
So here we go.
So Marina, why don't you justtell us about yourself to just help
(01:46):
our listeners understand your story.
I am, as you had mentioned, afull time educator, a part time missionary
in the native lands, and Ialso am an author as well as a radio
host of my radio programcalled Faith City Outreach.
(02:08):
And it is on air Mondaythrough Friday, actually Monday through
Sunday, 10am and also 5pm AndI interview pastors, global leaders,
ministers, anyone who wouldlove to share the gospel or share
their testimony on my radio program.
Awesome.
Well, it sounds like thatprobably keeps you busy from between
(02:31):
being an educator all the wayto running the show and doing ministry
work.
And I, I can relate to all of that.
So as I'm as you, as you and Idiscussed, I actually am an educator
myself too.
So.
So I have a question and thisis just kind of getting into some
(02:52):
of the details about this bookyou're writing.
Why did you or have written, why did you write this raw memoir?
I'm going to let you talkabout the book and bring all that
out and kind of let us knowwhy you wrote that, kind of what
inspired you and what has Kindof led you through this process,
right?
Well, my book is called afterthe Rainbow King Hope, and it is
(03:15):
a raw memoir.
God used my husband Louie toencourage me to write my testimony
at this stage in my life.
And having gone to Christiancounseling for trauma in the past
and for such a long time, Iallowed the enemy to keep me afraid
and ashamed to have had abroken childhood, growing up very
(03:38):
poor and hungry a lot of thetime, and witnessing domestic violence,
being sexually abused by myfather, and growing up without hope
for my future.
And in the story, I do mentionthat in my childhood, my best friend
named Virginia showed me apoem, and it was about a rainbow.
(04:01):
And I asked her how she wrotethe poem, and she said that she thought
about something she reallyliked and just wrote about it.
And for some reason, that justreally touched my heart, that gave
me a reason to focus ondreaming for a better life.
(04:22):
And I believe God used her sothat I could focus on writing and
writing about my dreams, writing about a better life and having
hope for my future.
And in the.
In the story, or I should sayin the book, main scripture is Jeremiah
(04:46):
29:11, when the Lord says, forI know the plans I have for you,
declares the Lord, plans toprosper you and not to harm you.
Plans to give you hope and a future.
Amen.
Amen.
You know, and I. I always, always find these stories interesting
(05:06):
in that God always seems tomeet us where we're at and meet us
at our need, whatever that is.
You know, it could be a traumasituation, just like you've experienced
trauma in your childhood.
It can be.
You know, it could be anything.
It could be something that, you know, we just.
We just need a turn in life totake us away from something that
(05:31):
we're focused on that's notleading us to him, to leading us
back to Him.
And it may not necessarily besomething that is negative.
Exactly.
Yeah.
It's something that's moreneutral, but it's just not leading
us towards God.
And he'll use something to do that.
He'll meet us at our need, andhe knows our greatest need is to
(05:52):
have a relationship with Him.
Amen.
And that's what he did.
Amen.
Exactly.
And it sounds like that thispoem and this friend obviously was
able to help you, and God usedthem to really bring you to Him.
I'll tell you, I love storieslike that.
I mean, just to show peoplethat God is faithful no matter what
(06:15):
your circumstances are.
Amen.
And God uses trauma or anystruggles or any.
Any experience, negativeexperience in your life.
Or childhood to.
To glorify him.
And so that's what he did.
He's doing.
(06:35):
He did that.
And yes, it's taken this longto share the story, but, you know,
he knows our timing.
He knows when we're ready toshare, and he has a purpose.
Amen.
Amen.
So I think I probably knowthis, but I'm going to let you.
And you sort of maybe havealluded to a little bit of this,
(06:57):
but who helped you inpublishing this book and talk about
why they are so special to you.
Other than my husbandencouraging me to publish my book.
After the Rainbow King Hope,my writing mentor of 20 years or
more, I should say he also hasbeen very instrumental.
(07:19):
And as I was growing up andwriting in my diary and then it became
a journal, I had, I want tosay, three, four mentors, writing
mentors, and I had some thatwere in my life just for a season.
But this particular writerwho's been in my life for over.
(07:39):
Where we.
We kind of stoppedcommunication for 20 years.
And then I went back to writing.
As soon as I went back towriting, which was last year, I contacted
him by email.
And I'd never met him in person.
I met him by email through afriend from college.
And we just kind of picked upfrom where we left off and he just
(08:02):
said, sure, I'll help you editthis book.
And he's a professional writer himself.
He's a professional poet.
And we.
He helped me and he edited my book.
And then also another friendfrom Arizona, she is.
(08:24):
She was the illustrator or sheis the illustrator of my book.
And she's also.
She also has a nonprofitorganization called this Little House
of Mine.
And her grandchildren, her twogranddaughters, they illustrated
(08:44):
my book, too.
So they provided the backcover and then also a picture inside,
which were pictures that werevery important for the storyline
or I should say for the themeof the story.
After the Rainbow Came Home.
Awesome.
You know, again, having thosepeople to help you along.
(09:06):
I, you know, even this programthat we're listening to now, I actually
have a team of people thathelp me, my wife being one of them.
And.
And then there are three otherpeople that have that.
That aid us and help us to do this.
I've got.
We're finishing our website aswe speak.
Of course, by the timesomebody hears this program, the
(09:27):
website will be up and live.
And so we're, you know, havingall those people.
You.
You cannot do this stuff by ourselves.
And we're not meant to.
Exactly.
I think that's another pieceof this.
We're not meant to do it by ourselves.
No person's an island.
And, you know, having.
Having those people that notonly are mentoring, but also just
to help you in each step andyou returning the favor, of course.
(09:50):
And they're helping them andthey're, you know, in their walks
and, and the things that Godhas called them to do is, I think
that's just again, another bigpart of the story, you know, it's
so true.
And God brings those people toour lives so that he can fulfill
or we can fulfill his purposeand plan.
Amen.
(10:10):
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
So what did you learn ordiscover after writing this book?
I noticed that this bookopened the door for people to just
begin sharing personal thingsthat happened to them in their childhood
or in their lives.
And so it led me to also prayfor women to be healed from any abuse,
(10:37):
be it sexual or not.
And it was.
It's created conversations, like I said, for people to talk about
their unfortunate experiences,their trauma.
I've had many people come upto me and just say, well, this happened
(10:58):
to me.
I never told anybody.
And then they would finish thesentence and share.
So there was a scripture,Jeremiah 30:17, where the Lord says,
I will restore you to healthand heal your wounds.
And so it does mention that inthe story where that's what happened.
(11:21):
He healed my wounds.
And he can heal everybody'swounds too.
We just need to call on himand we need to just, yeah, call on
him to begin that healing process.
And of course, it's when youare ready, when you're ready to have
(11:42):
him heal you, he will.
Amen.
And you know, one of thethings too, that, that I just want
to bring up here that I thinkis important and I'm.
Is that everybody at somepoint in their life is going to experience
some type of trauma.
I mean, if you live longenough, you're going to experience
it.
There's just.
There's really no way around that.
(12:03):
That's just a part of life.
So regardless if it's, quote, you know, negligence, abuse, whatever
it is, or if it's even justnormal things in life happening,
you know, loss of a loved one, even those type of situations, I
(12:25):
think it's so important toremember that God is there for you
in every step.
And also to remember this, andI think this is the other piece,
is that a lot of times whatpeople do is spend time blaming God.
But to remember that nothingin this life is permanent.
It is temporary.
(12:45):
This is a temporary state thatwe're in and that even the worst
of Trauma, even the worst ofcircumstances, is only going to be
temporary.
But our eternal home withChrist in heaven, being in the presence
of God, that is, that is whatthe reward is.
(13:07):
And so.
And God wants to restore youso that you can have those heavenly
rewards, so that you can beconnected with him, not just here,
but even more importantly, have eternal life with Him.
Amen.
And that's been my prayer to.
Yes, is that this book willland in the hands of the right people
who are ready to receive himand receive his healing.
(13:29):
I do mention in my book thathe provides the greatest love of
all.
So for people who, likemyself, didn't have that fatherly
love, I've always desired thatfatherly love.
But when I gave myself to theLord and dedicated my life to Him,
(13:51):
I knew that, or he actuallytold me through a vision that he
would be that father that Inever have.
Amen.
Amen.
So he can, he'll provide.
He'll provide.
He'll give you thatunconditional love and more.
(14:12):
Amen.
Amen.
I've, you know, I remember my,my father passed away when I was
in my early 30s.
And, you know, I remember theLord putting in my heart not too
much longer after that, afterjust through the grieving process
(14:32):
that he was going to be myfather, that it was going to be him
that was going to fill thatvoid, to fill that gap.
And so.
And God wants to do that for us.
You know, even if our earthlyfathers are still alive, it's really
God that really can fill thatrole for us and should fill that
(14:56):
role and.
Exactly.
We need to surrender to that.
And I think that's all he'swaiting on.
He's just waiting for us tosurrender to him.
Exactly.
And he's so patient.
He doesn't force us.
He's just waiting.
Amen.
Just waiting for us to say, help me.
And so here's a question.
(15:17):
Obviously, you've been writingthis book, putting it out there.
What have been some of therecent reactions from this book,
from those who have purchasedit, have read the book?
What, you know, kind of.
What kind of feedback are you getting?
Well, thankfully, and it'sreally God opening the door for me
to share my testimony togroups of women.
(15:39):
Now there is a women's churchprogram here in Glendale, Arizona,
who is considering to use mybook for their healing process.
And then there, there's alsoanother church, actually two other
(16:00):
churches that are.
That have invited me to sharemy testimony already.
And so that is God has openedthat door.
And people just, people justbuying just Multiple copies of the
book and giving it to otherpeople that they.
(16:21):
That might need it.
That has been very, very encouraging.
And basically people wantinganother sequel.
So I will be writing another sequel.
And not I will be.
I am writing another sequel.
And so that sequel will bemostly about my love story with my
(16:48):
husband because he was verypatient in my healing process.
And so I thank God that hesent me, because that he sent him
to me so that we could be amarried couple and because he was
the one that witnessed to meabout Christ.
(17:10):
And so I thank him for that.
Amen.
You know, so I'm guessing thebook like you said, and I'm not guessing,
but just from what you said, the books, the target audience has
been females.
But what I am guessing is thatit doesn't just have to be for a
female.
Exactly.
There's men that's had thistype of trauma.
(17:31):
We know that even as boys, there's boys that have been abused
and that, you know, the storyof hope like this can apply to them
as well.
Absolutely.
It's for everyone.
It just seems to be right nowthat God has opened the doors for
me to share it with womenright now.
(17:53):
Amen.
My booklet has been out for acouple of weeks so far, and he's
already working, working onhaving me share the story and for
his glory, of course.
Amen.
Amen.
So what do you hope yourreaders will gain from reading this
(18:15):
book?
Obviously, you've talked aboutthe sequel here and kind of what
that's going to be, but, youknow, maybe just give us some more
insight into that and, youknow, just talk about that process.
My prayers have been forpeople to be inspired to begin their
healing journey with Jesus.
(18:36):
So maybe there's people outthere that have delayed going into,
well, first of all, receivingChrist as their Lord and Savior.
And then maybe they've delayedin getting Christian counseling.
So whatever the delays are, myprayers are for them to begin, to
(19:00):
begin the healing process, tobegin the healing journey with Jesus
and to experience that heprovides the greatest love of all.
He's our healer.
He's our waymaker, our miracleworker, our light in the darkness,
and he will restore us.
(19:21):
The next sequel will alreadybe, which I've already started writing,
is an unpredictable story, like I told you, about my husband
leading me to Christ and howwe met and got married.
So that is in the works.
And I'm glad that people areasking for that next season.
(19:44):
Well, I tell you what, that'sgoing to be awesome.
I mean, hey, I'm sure yourreaders are Already ready for it
to be out there now.
And.
And, you know, meunderstanding the process of writing
because I've got stuff that Ihave written and still writing.
Those things don't just magically.
Those words don't magicallyappear on that paper.
And so that can be.
(20:05):
It can be a daunting process, but I'm sure it's going to be worth
the wait for all your readers,it sounds like.
Yes.
And I will give them oneintriguing but surprising part about
this story, and that would bethe next sequel, and that is that
my husband asked me to marryhim 22 times.
(20:27):
Wow.
Before I.
It's gotta be.
I'm not saying it is, but thatmight be some kind of a record here.
22 times.
Yeah.
Before I said yes.
Wow.
That's.
I mean, hey, that's a lot ofrejection before you.
Oh, my gosh.
(20:48):
Everyone who hears the storyalways tells me that I need to write
that story because it is sounpredictable and it's so shocking
that just when you think it'sgoing well, it's not going well,
and then eventually it does go well.
Amen.
(21:08):
Amen.
There's, you know, hey, wejust got to remember that regardless
of where we're at, there's hope.
There is always hope.
Yes.
There's always hope.
Yes.
With Jesus.
He's our healer, our waymaker, our miracle worker, and he's
everything.
We can't live without Him.
At least I can.
(21:30):
I can't either.
I mean, hey, I. I don't evenwant to think about what I would
be like without him.
I just, you know, would Istill be acting like, you know, a
teenage boy?
You know, I mean, just chasing every.
You know, chasing everyfeeling that you have and, you know,
trying to, you know, justliving to be gratified by self all
(21:52):
the time.
So that would be.
That's what I don't want tolive like.
Exactly.
I agree.
Christ, he brings thatfoundation so that, you know, our
feelings are there, but wedon't live by them and we don't trust
them, so.
Exactly.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen to that.
So, Marina, this has been soawesome, and I just.
(22:16):
I love your story to be ableto share with others and to bring
hope to a lot of people whomay be hurting.
But, you know, also it's.
You may know somebody that's hurting.
It may not be you necessarily, but it may be somebody else that
you guys know, all of youlisteners and.
And, you know, you can.
You can actually use thisstory right here to help them understand
(22:40):
that person that they have hope.
And obviously you can pick upher book.
Maybe that gives themsomething to read that will help
get that spark going that theyneed, that spark of hope so that
they can start walking downthe right path.
So, Marina, tell us, how couldsomebody get connected to learn more?
They could go to Amazon andpurchase the book there.
(23:03):
And just recently, days ago,it is now available in Spanish.
So English in Spanish.
And they can also visit mywebsite just to learn more about
the work I do.
And that is www.globalgospelworshipradio.org.
(23:24):
again, it'sglobalgospelworshipradio.org and
the title of my is calledafter the Rainbow came Hope.
And that's by Marina Maria Carpal.
And they can just look it upon Amazon.
Wow.
Well, that's, that is awesome.
We're going to include thisall in the show notes, folks, and
(23:45):
make sure that you guys havethis website.
We'll, we'll put herprofessional website down.
You can obviously follow thelinks in there to get the book, just
to listen to her show and allthose type of things.
So it has been great to haveyou on here as a guest.
And I'm going to tell youright now, Marina, I'm going to have
you back on as you're writingthat sequel.
(24:07):
We're obviously going to haveto come on here, you're going to
have to get on here, maybeeven bring your husband and we talk
to both of you at the same time.
You know, him being a formercoach and me being a former coach.
We may never get past thecoaching part because we'll have
all of our, quote stories.
But it's been, it's been apleasure having you on the show and
(24:28):
we actually look forward tohaving you back.
Thank you.
Thank you so much, TS andthank you to all the listeners.
We're going to wrap it uptoday and we could go on and on and
I would love to, but we dowant to keep this under our time
frame as Marina and I talkedabout before the show.
She completely understands asshe tries to do the same thing, but
(24:50):
absolutely.
Thank you so much.
God bless everyone and Godbless you as well.
And we just want to thankeveryone for turning into the show

And like I said, we're goingto drag her husband on there, too,
so.
Well, on behalf of myself andMarina, this is T.S.
(25:32):
wright.
And until next time, go forthin total surrender to the one who
owns and reigns over all creation.
Let the great harvest begin.
