Jau jūlijā beidzās pilnvaru termiņš ģenerālprokuroram Jurim Stukānam, tagad viņa pienākumus pilda pagaidu pienākumu izpildītājs. Bet Saeima tā arī nav balsojis par nākamo ģenerālprokuroru, jo konkurss, ko šim amatam pavasarī rīkoja Tieslietu padome, beidzās bez rezultāta, tāpēc nācās to rīkot no jauna. Toreiz pieteicās šim darbam trīs pretendenti. Kāds būs šī konkursa rezultāts, to mēs, protams, nezinām. Taču šoreiz ir četri kandidāti, un tikai viens no viņiem kandidē atkārtoti, proti, līdzšinējais ģenerālprokurors Juris Stukāns.
