Every minute 20 people leave everything behind to escape war, persecution or terror. On top of that, the COVID-19 pandemic has put millions of refugees at even greater risk than ever before. Announcing the launch of the humanitarian COVID-19 response campaign, ‘Support Knows No Safe Distance’ in Ramadan, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) and UNHCR Eminent Advocate for Refugee Children, made a global call for concerted action to intensify efforts to protect vulnerable groups from the devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
