(00:02):
Hi, I'm Brandon. I love Lifetime Christmas
movies. Hi, I'm Patrick Serrano and I am
a Lifetime movie expert. I'm Dan and I despise lifetime
Christmas movies and this is thedeck.
The Hallmark podcast thinks I got it from the.
Hallmark It's this podcast and. Friends host this podcast.

(00:27):
We hope you like this, Dolly. Podcast I honestly I don't
really know what happened. I try like I.
Tried and when you were on a delay.
First of all, which? Is I am silly thing, but I I did
you know, like sometimes you like you know, here I come.
And then it just didn't happen. Then it didn't happen.

(00:49):
We've all been there. Yeah.
So I said I was brand last week,I believe.
I don't know what week it is guys, what day is.
Season. It's a long season.
Intros alright. The power went out.
It's been 1 big day. It is I I stand by it.
Since September 27th, it's been 1 big day.
I'd I'd say what you will. It's a long.
Season. I was driving through a
different part of my apartment complex because I had to park on

(01:10):
the other side of the parking lot.
There is still a car that has not been moved since the
hurricane. Oh my goodness.
Because there's like still debris and I drove by it and had
like a PTSD moment and was like, not again.
We were watching the unwrapping Christmas movies because
somebody had to and in in the Cindy Busby when When the Power
Comes back on. I had this very weird moment in

(01:32):
my soul where I was like both happy for them, but also like
just like taken aback. I was just like don't need.
This don't need this for. Mine.
So yeah, it's just one big day. But whenever we watch those
movies, that's, you know, it happened.
You guys there there's a movie that I just saw like the other
day and it was the it's about the power going out during a
snowstorm and the there I know like camp, you know, like a

(01:56):
what's that called a cabin? They're in a.
Cabin like a camp? Yes.
Yes, and they go like crazy because they're like hypothermia
happens when you sleep. So we can't sleep, we cannot
sleep and and they just start losing their minds and like
they're the whole movie. They're like we're so cold.

(02:16):
It's so cold, no sleep allowed. They start taking like ADHD
medicine to like stay awake and like it is the most It's very
boring, surprisingly, because it's so boring.
That's I know. What?
This sounds like a Toby movie. What was that?
Yeah, it's like a cheap horror. Movie it's called like snow

(02:37):
falling snowfall, yeah, I think snowfalling and Jonathan
Bennett, Jonathan Bennett's in it for like a hot second yeah,
you guys have to review this forthe show because.
I need to know what it is. I think it's called snowfalling.
Is it older I'm assuming? It's from last year.
I just year it came across my streaming platform somewhere and

(02:59):
I said I'll give this a shot. Snow falling and then I was like
snowfalls. Snowfalls so very close.
It's only it's only like an hourin like some change.
It's rated. R.
It's got terrible winter storm. Strands 5 friends in a remote
cabin with no power and little food disorientation.

(03:20):
Slowly claims her sanity as eachof them.
Some succumbs to fear that the snow itself may be contaminated
or something. It's like The Happening, but
snow. It's an hour 19 with credits.
Oh, we've got to watch this. And it is, it is a, it's a long
hour. It's a long.

(03:41):
It's a long hour man. I'm here for.
It how quickly does it get to the Yeah, on to the snow coming
down and I. Love that John Jonathan Bennett
is like F on the call sheet. Why is he there?
He's clearly not one of the friends, right?
He he's, he's one of the friends, which was my, which is
my biggest thing. He can't make it.
He has to work. So he's on a a little call.

(04:05):
Did he? Like this Oh my God, favor or
something There's only. Best friend there's.
Only like 8 people in the movie and.
There's Crazy Anna Grace Barlow, one of the Barlow girls.
She. Was one of.
The Barlow girls. Is she really one of the Barlow
girls? Hold on, sorry.
Wait a minute, no, she's one of the Barlow girls.
Her sister Abigail wrote the soundtrack from Moana, too.
Once. Yeah, the fact that Lin Manuel

(04:26):
Marine. One of the Barlow girls wrote
the soundtrack to Moana too. You want to talk about?
Abigail Barlow and Emily Bair wrote the soundtrack to Moana,
too. I'm very excited.
OK, can't wait. It's good.
Can't be as. Good as the Lin Manuel.
One. Yeah, a double feature.
Let's do a double feature. Snowfall and.
Moana too. It's a classic double feature.
Patrick, this is a wild day because it's it's Saturday

(04:48):
today. Saturday.
And we are somehow doing this. And you were on a little program
called Who, What, When today a radio program for the for the
Thanksgiving episode. That's right at the same time.
So the three of us are talking about Christmas at Plum Hill
Manor and talking about Thanksgiving for South Carolina

(05:08):
Public Radio. Who, what, when, which you can
get wherever you listen to podcast.
It's a double Patrick, a double Patrick.
We totally double Patrick drop. We didn't.
We didn't. We did that on purpose.
Those are those are some of my favorite days when I get a
double dose of Patrick. Yes, very exciting.
Course yeah me too. I I look in the mirror and I'm
like 2 day 2 bees. What that's.
Right, it is, it is. And I know I'm a little bit

(05:29):
biased, but your episode of Who,What, When is maybe my favorite.
It's you and it's Annie Towns talking about Oh my gosh, Turkey
the food or Turkey the country. It's a great episode.
It's one of my favorite things we've ever done on the show.
So it is a lot of the Turkey thecountry or Turkey the Turkey it

(05:52):
is. It's hard.
It's hard to determine. Stop out there.
And I love it. I love it so much for us.
Oh, they're not the Christian group, the Barlow girls that I
don't care about. I think, I think, yeah, you were
very, very shocked. I was very shocked.
It actually does me some good because I know the Christian
group, the Barlow girls, and I'msorry, all due respect to that

(06:13):
group, it Lin Manuel wrote the. Same chapter was so.
Shot yeah, I can see that. No, I just Anna Grace Barlow.
I was like, Oh no, like. I'm excited about Moana 2.
But Aaron, let's talk briefly because we've got the time.
We're not up against it. Are you more excited or nervous
for Moana 2? Because I'm more nervous for
Moana 2 than I am excited. I it's it's.

(06:35):
I'm excited for the music. Soundtrack does come out.
I'm not going to listen to the soundtrack before I see the
movie. I would.
When does it come out? The movie, I think.
It comes out next week. No, I thought for some reason it
was closer to Christmas. No, it's.
Thanksgiving week, it's Moana 2,Gladiator 2.
Wicked people are calling it thefour quadrant box office
triumvirate. Holy Trinity.
We need to work on the name of it, but I like.

(06:56):
It that's what. People are calling.
It the Holy Trinity of the box office, they're like, this is
going to get all four quadrants. That's what they're calling it,
yeah. Clockwise, I I am nervous.
So you the first one was done atthe main Disney animated Studios
and Lin Manuel did the soundtrack.
And the second one, the animators in California didn't
even know it was happening. They do it up in the Pacific,

(07:16):
northwestern Canada. They keep it a secret and
they're like surprise coming outthis year and it's not Lin
Manuel. I'm just very worried.
I'm very worried. I.
Wonder why I meant Lin Manuel didn't do it.
He was working on Mufasa with Barry Jenkins.
He's busy. He's doing and he did Warriors.
Literally never stopped him before, never does.
But everything like. Well he's getting older, maybe

(07:37):
he can only handle like 5 projects.
At one time, I mean, but Moana is, from what I understand, the
number one stream thing on Disney Plus since Disney Plus is
launched, which is crazy to me to think about.
But second of all, it seems likethey're trying to capitalize on
that and make a quick. It feels like a sequel to Jaws,
like they just put it out real quick, didn't need the
originals. And I'm just worried because I

(08:00):
love Moana. Is it screened yet?
I don't I don't see any reviews on this.
The premiere is today. OK, so it will, we'll we'll know
something tomorrow, but because you'll get the out of but I
believe Screener reactions whichyou don't trust.
Premiere is today in Hawaii. So that's like 8 hours.
Behind, I don't know. Tomorrow, I just know they're in

(08:20):
Hawaii and they were talking about the premiere today.
So we'll find out if you could calculate that time difference
for us and get back to us, but. Yeah, I'll work on it.
Well, here's. Some reviews so I'm excited but
nervous. It's a like Wednesday release.
Is that what's happening Wednesday?
Thanks. It's probably a Wednesday
release. Yeah, they're getting out of the
way of Gladiator 2 and interesting.
Yeah. What do you think, Patrick?

(08:41):
Do you care about Moano at all? No, I've seen it and you know,
I, I don't remember it very well.
I think there might be a a bird that.
There is a bird. There is a bird.
Well, he can become Maui, can become a bird.
No, there's a bird. There's hey, hey, hey.
Hey, he doesn't. Talk.
Hey. Hey.
He doesn't talk. Yeah.
Hey, hey, it's funny. Come.
On guys. Well, yeah, That bird, that

(09:02):
bird's funny. That bird's funny, you guys.
I'm still in Frozen. I'm still in Frozen over here,
No. Hit me Moana over Frozen all day
long. Oh, are you familiar with the
wicked? Wicked.
You know, I saw it like maybe a couple of years ago and hated
it. I hated it.
Wow, because it was high for my whole life.

(09:25):
Sure. And then and then I'm going and
I'm like, guys, this is it. Like I don't the wizard.
Of I don't know. The Wizard of Oz, or even I
know. Nothing about Wicked aside from
the basic premise of Wicked and I am trying to become interested
in a two hour and 40 minute Part1 and I'm finding myself

(09:46):
struggling to get hype. I was just and I don't.
Care. I was just talking about my
brother because he was like, I'mthinking about seeing Gladiator
and then I was going to also seethis is my brother talking.
I was also going to see Wicked right after.
That's a full time job. That's a full time job.
That with trailer yeah 50 minutes of trailers, that is
$5.50 minutes you are 6 hours atthe movie theater that's a long

(10:09):
day that's not a double feature that's a triple feature.
That's a triple feature and I just, yeah, I, I feel like I
need to see it. Cultural zeitgeist and whatnot.
I. Just.
Don't care and I'm trying but Gladiator 2 looks terrible and
am I going tonight? Probably.
If we get a movie we should see in the theatre or can I wait
until that? Streaming 3D, like it's made to

(10:31):
be this massive theatrical thing, and it's with trailers.
It's over three hours. I'm not seeing it in 3D, but
yeah, I'll see it in theatres. Yeah, you're going to see Wicked
in theatres. I think it'll be good.
It'll be good to see, you know, pour.
Down the list for me. But but if you aren't like a 10
year old girl and like when Wicked came out, you're probably
not going to be like the fan. Whatever, but.

(10:53):
Also John Chu, who directed it heated in the Heights, which is
one of the more underrated moviemusical adaptations of the last
20 years. It's amazing.
It's so good. I I did like that one as well.
And so I feel like I want to give him the benefit of the
doubt, but this movie is doing absolutely nothing for me.
I and so. What if on that day that we were

(11:13):
going to record, but we're no longer recording?
I go and do. Wicked.
And gladiator and make it my full.
Time job, How you? Doing have fun.
You know what? I I'm real.
I I don't know. No, I'm excited.
The the trailer worked for me. It was like, yeah, I was the
trailer. Worked for me the first time the
30. Eight.
I mean, I've seen it a many times.
Felt. Like it I was so it worked for
me on a base trailer level, but not on like a this makes me

(11:35):
interested in seeing the like itwas like, oh, if you like this,
this will work for you. Well, should we talk about?
Plumbing, I will just say I knowit's down on your list, but it's
about to be a a wicked gladiatorred one Moana and that's about
it in in our local. Theatre so those 3 even red one
which is getting terrible reviews.
I would have above wicked on my list.
I just, yeah, I don't, I don't care.

(11:57):
But I think you'll get what I'm saying is I think you'll get to
it. I'll probably.
Get to it based upon the fact the process of elimination.
Oh, hi, let's talk about the Plum Hill Man or the show.
Thanksgiving movie Talk with theboys.
Right. I mean, you got to talk about
the Thanksgiving movies, but we got to talk about the Christmas
movies because, you know, I don't.
Unlike you guys, I don't leave my house.

(12:18):
Yeah, I was going to. Ask you we before we start
recording you, we're talking about how you're so busy.
You're working every single day,but you're also updating
Lifetime on court.com every single day.
You're reviewing not just Lifetime movies during the
holiday season, but the hallmarks and the Netflix isn't
all like all of it. Oh, yeah.
David, have the honour and the privilege of being able to watch

(12:38):
these movies during the day for our job, but you have to.
What are you? What are you doing?
Yeah. So my schedule is, you know, I
go to work at the arts Barn is what it's called.
I work like a normal 8:00 to 8:00 to 4:00 at only theatre.
I work my soccer's really getting all the good info this
time. But at at the only theatre I

(13:00):
usually work in the evenings. So I'm not watching.
I'm either watching these like super early in the morning, like
8:00 AM or I'm watching them like way late, like 10:00 PM.
So it's catching me on like a mood, like I'm not always like
in the best. That's what I was going to say.
Do you, do you, have you had a moment, have you had the moment
yet where you know you should watch one but you just don't

(13:22):
have it in you and you just say I don't want to do it right now.
Oh yeah. And then I'll watch like, you
know, a murder show where like, of course, ER, something like
really like, ER is a good one to, to like decompress for me.
I don't know why. How are you handling
Thanksgiving week? How are you going to handle the
the ambush there? Yeah, you know, 'cause I usually

(13:45):
am off like with the college schedule, like this would be
off, but now I'm like double like a matinee and an evening
performance. So I don't know how, I don't
know how it's gonna work. We'll see.
We'll see. Maybe I'll be watching like in
the the like, you know, box office like little pieces.
I'll you can have my synopsis for some of them.
You just tag me in and I'll we'll.

(14:07):
I'll take your. This is a.
Fun little thing we can do. We get Screener.
We get we're getting some screeners now and we obviously
can't review the movie till it comes out, but I've seen people
do out of out of watching reactions which we won't do
either. But I'll say this, we've got
screeners for most of the moviesnext week, Patrick, and one of
them is going to receive 1 Hallmark Christmas movie that's

(14:27):
going to be released next week is going to receive a rave
review from me. Wow.
So there's a teaser. For people, how about that
teaser? You know, I'll let you try to
figure out which one, but one ofthem is really, really good, so
there's that. Well, that, that's great, 'cause
I haven't seen one yet that I'vebeen like, oh wow, yeah, it's
been a. Down year, but there's one
coming out in the next 10 days from today that is definitely a

(14:51):
big thumbs up for me and. We'll let you finish that review
next week. That's right.
And be wiser in the process. And maybe you'll score a
touchdown, maybe you'll go on a quest.
Maybe you'll head back to the night, and maybe you'll give it
a night. A perfect like 90s.

(15:12):
And you can have it and holiday it.
Wow, these are a lot of clues. These are a lot of clues.
And you, you know what's funny? There's a lot of clues in
Christmas at Plum Hill Manor. Yeah, let's talk about.
It what is it 9? 30 already.
I got to be honest, we will probably still be done around
the 30 minute mark. Let's talk Plum Hill.

(15:33):
Plum Hill Manor. Maria Menounos, you know her
from the the pre show at the theaters.
We'll see her a lot. Yeah, we do over Thanksgiving
movie. You also know her from the gas
station, the screens that are onthe gas station.
I mean, she might, you might seeher at your gas station.
I don't know. Everyone has to get gas.
That's the great, you know, leveller equalizer.

(15:55):
Yes. Pretty sure I'm pretty sure
I'll. The great level, yes, everybody
true death taxes and you got to you got to get gas.
Once you have an EV, you don't. That's true.
You know what I'm saying? True.
That's right, she probably has an EV.
Probably. Has an EV.
So you probably won't see her atthe gas.
Station Great leveller. Take it away, Patrick.
All right, so we have, of course, Maria Menounos, our

(16:18):
favorite person who isn't known to be an actress.
She is playing a business woman in this movie.
And let me tell you Dan, if you are picturing Maria Menounos in
any scene, just know that her business attire is poppin.
Is it smart? I'm a smart business suit.
She's trendy, she's got the wideleg suit, wide leg.

(16:42):
High waisted, wide leg. Got it.
You want to know my biggest takeaway from Maria Menounos,
whether she's in her business attire or is in her, you know,
manner, manner attire is some amazing hair.
Miriam Menudos's hair is incredible.
In the nudie she always looks great.
The hair is incredible, yeah. Yeah, I wish I had that hair.

(17:05):
I started taking hair pills now guys 'cause you know this is
like my. Hair pills.
Should take that hold. On is it neutrophil?
'Cause if it's not, you can't talk about it.
Oh yeah, I take the the sponsored 1 and and yeah it's
crazy you guys. Like I don't know if it's
working, but we'll see. Well, I mean, so are you saying

(17:25):
that Maria Menounos is taking neutrophil?
She's got to be. Her hair only explanation.
So thick. Yeah, so.
She must be taken. Well, it's so.
Thick but it's so thick. But it also looks so light it
looks like. I don't know how to explain.
It and it's and it's a formula just for women.
It's just for women, and it's they they did.
Always like 88% success. Rate, yeah, 100%.

(17:48):
Success rate for her. I believe it just recommended
somebody, not only men are worried about about hair loss,
you know, women also struggle with that.
They they do a lot to their hairthat makes the hair, you know,
come out like blow drying it. Yeah, like Blow.
Drying, brushing, brushing it. It's blow drying your hair, make
your hair come out. Is that, I mean, is that you're
putting science, you're putting.Heat on yeah, something I.

(18:10):
Imagine flat, flat irony. Hair looks shockingly.
I mean, I'm, I'm trying to find a better way to describe it than
Patrick is describing it. Yes, when I blow dry my hair,
some hair does come out, but it's like the hair that falls
out during the day anyway. Yeah.
It's just residual, yeah. But but but like a but a
straightener does damage it. Yeah, overusing the straightener

(18:31):
can damage the hair. You said it.
Tia Horn says he sorry for blasting your last name out
there. Heat Heat really damages your
drivers license number. Essential.
You guys, I don't know if you know this about me, but I lived
in a sorority house in college. So I I saw that hair damage and
I said one day, one day you. Didn't live in a sorority house

(18:54):
in college. This is a classic.
Absolute absolutely did. Kappa, Gamma, Delta.
Kappa Gamma Delta shout. Out and I I was the Kappa Gamma
Delta sweetheart, OK, they pick one boy every year and I was the
one for one of the years. Are you sure that I was?
What college is this? Frostburg State.

(19:14):
Frostburg State. This is a Christmas movie.
You're describing a Christmas movie.
They do a A sorority at Frostburg State picks one.
Sweetheart of the Year. To have be a sweetheart of the
year or whatever it is. This is like a you're describing
a Christmas movie. OK.
Well, you know, I don't know if we really did, Chris.

(19:34):
Well, and Hallmark, this would be a great like like same sex
couple Christmas movie where Hallmarker you're listening
since you didn't have any lead couples like the this already
helps this guy and the guy that he's in to get together and it's
at Frostburg Stick. Come on.
Yeah. It's Christmas movie.
Perfect. There was.
And talking with Patrick, there was some snow at this time, but

(19:57):
a different type of snow, you know?
What I'm talking about, Patrick, you know what I'm talking about.
OK. All right, can we, can we delay
what talking about this movie anymore?
Maria Menudos is a businesswomanwho who has great hair.
We got sidetracked by the hair, you guys.
She's the gem of her company. Every everyone's applauding her

(20:18):
everywhere she goes, but she doesn't even have a desktop
computer in her office. She has a laptop.
Come on. She must be on the go all the
time. Her her business like endeavors
are something to do with real estate, I think.
It's not clear. Doesn't really matter.
I don't know what she does, but she's good at it.

(20:39):
She's good. She's.
So good. She feels lonely at the
holidays. She's getting Christmas cards
from from all her friends and she's like, oh, they're all
having little cute Christmas cards and I'm just a successful
business. Oh yeah, what just happened?
That is, I'm going to, we're going to play.

(21:00):
I know we, we're up against it. I'm going to play it once more.
Patrick, this is a line of dialogue that is not supposed to
be a song. Are you ready?
It's not supposed to be a song. Hit it.
That is a woman telling her husband that they're estranged,
that she is lonely. She is not singing there.

(21:23):
Wow, that is it's it is so moving, so moving that.
Emotional. I've seen Patrick laugh.
I'm glad you don't love it. Yeah, I I'm hard to, I'm hard to
break. OK.
So she's very lonely And just play it one more time.

(21:51):
Oh, that's good. That's good.
That's good. A Butler, A Butler kind of
materializes out of nowhere for Maria Menounos.
And he says, hey, your long lostaunt has given you this.
You have a surprise inheritance and you have to move in
immediately. You have to stay there for seven

(22:11):
days. Here's a bottle of wine from the
vineyard that's there. Drink it.
Think it over and decide what you want to do.
What she does, she gets another great outfit or some.
Wine. Inspects the wine bottle and
inside the wine bottle is a letter.

(22:32):
Literally. Messaging.
And this is our first mystery. It says something but I didn't
write down but it. It's like a Riddle or or come,
come. Come across the pond, you'll
have a good time. Don't delay or you'll be mine.
Something like that. Don't delay or you will be mine.
Say, are they going to kill him?Yes.

(22:52):
And she, she drinks the wine. She's like, I love a good red,
I'm in. And she goes abroad all of a
sudden naked. Wines.com/checkthehallmark.
She was drinking a bottle of from Naked Wine.
Yeah, I. Mean.
Why wouldn't you? Why wouldn't you?
Yeah, I mean it. It's naked, 6 bottles.
Of wine for $39. Did you hear about this one?
Did you hear about this one? I'm not.
Making that up. We're not trying to do an ad

(23:14):
here. I ordered it myself.
Didn't know that was the promo when we did the cop. $100 off. 6
bottles of wine for $39.00 with free free shipping.
I could. There was no catch.
Negative wine.com. Slash slash the hallmark.
Sorry, go ahead. Whatever.
Yeah, this sounds perfect for myfor my Lifetime movie viewing.
Because you need the wine they always.
Have the wine it's. It's power of, you know, what's

(23:37):
it called? Suggestion.
Yeah, power of suggestion. So there's this crazy chauffeur
that picks her up that has a Scottish broke right brand.
Like this was not a a European or a British accent.
Yeah, no, he's Scottish, but it's a she.
She's Scottish. Or maybe they're not binary?
They are Scottish. I, I, yeah, I I picked up on

(24:00):
Scottish. Yeah, I'm like, where are we?
I thought we were going to London but all of a sudden we're
in Scotland and everybody's talking with the like the little
dog and Lydian the tramp, that little black dog.
Yeah. And she's like, you know,
showing Miranda Donis around thehouse and whatever the house is,

(24:23):
of course, like, dilapidated andwhatever.
Oh, wait, does that even happen? No, I made that up.
We go to an English pub first. There's a handsome stranger.
OK, there we go. The handsome stranger takes her
to the house. And the handsome stranger lives

(24:43):
on the House, at the house. Lives on the House on top of it,
right on top of that roof. He lives like in he like makes
cider in the back. Plum cider.
Plum Hill they have. They make plum.
Yes, big into the cider and he'sbig into just being.
He's mean. He's like just mean for no
reason. He hates Miriam Menudo, he tells

(25:05):
her. Her hair sucks.
Yeah, see, he says. I I hope that you don't have an
EV so you have to go to the gas station.
Hear your own voice. Great leveler.
Yeah, he gives her a a flat ironfor Christmas.
Oh, you wouldn't. Oh.
Yeah, it's a just flat that maneout.

(25:26):
I mean it really is like if you think about flat ironing just
just for one second, like flat ironing trend was so weird.
Like everyone flat iron there. I flat ironed my hair.
I had, I had like. A picture didn't happen.
But I I really did and I flat ironed my hair and like I was
like, oh, this is look so good. Like why were we doing that in
like the 2000? I don't know.

(25:47):
Were you doing that in the two early I?
Have flat ironed my hair twice. I didn't know what a flat iron
was. But it was for kicks and
giggles. It wasn't for like, this is
really going to be my style. It was Christmas.
Calling Kansas City. I did it there.
I I have big hair. And then you you flatten it down
and it. That's fun.

(26:07):
Right. It's fun and and like you, it's
really flat. Like no.
Volume. That's the.
That's the key. Flat hair.
That's right. That's right.
Maria Menounos. All volume.
No. Volumes.
Volume for days. So Maria Menounos takes a bath.
Wow, she's in the bath. She does.
OK. Sorry that was a weird I just I.

(26:29):
I really I was first of all like, oh, she takes a bath.
This is a part of this movie. Interested.
And then your reaction was I wasvery.
Excited, I know, but I was excited because I was.
Borderline Leah Thompson Excited.
No, it's a yeah, she does. She takes that bath, you know
what I'm saying? It's a part of it.

(26:49):
It's a part of the thing she like.
I don't know why she had the idea.
I don't remember why she had theidea to put the paper in the
water. Do you remember why?
Why'd she do it? I think she did it because she
was in a bath. It's a.
Secret message. There's a secret message and she
she realizes that if she puts the this paper in the water,

(27:10):
it'll reveal, reveal itself. Yeah, So more clues, More clues
happen. I don't care about the clues.
But the guy from the bar, his name's Alfie.
He suddenly cares because he believes the manners should be,
like, left to the town and someone who, like, respects the
history. So he's going to start helping

(27:31):
her figure out these clues because they might lead to like
a deed or something like that, right?
I I think what's what's going onhere, Dan?
And then we'll take a break. What's going on here is we have
we have a manner I forgot we. Were recording to be.
Honest, the manor's nothing spectacular, OK?
And so he wants to keep it, but there's no real reason to keep

(27:53):
it. And there are people that are
interested in selling it or in buying it now he they are.
These clues make it seem like it's going to lead to something
that'll make keeping this healthworthwhile.
Keeping the health. Worthwhile.
Let's. Take a quick break, we'll come
back and we'll see what that. Thing is, well, I'm on the

(28:15):
needles over here. You're right.
Take the hallmark. Take the hallmark.
What is going to make this health worth What is your?
Boy Ronnie Roe. Let's find out.
Let's find out. So we do, we have a couple

(28:38):
things happen, like they get locked in a room together and
like are like, Oh no, we're locked in the room.
Are we falling in love? You know, we, they decorate for
Christmas and they're like, are we falling in love?
They're they're really not they're really not falling in
love. Alfie opens up about he worked
at a job in London and he knows what it's like to be Maria menu

(29:00):
doesn't have great hair and be abusinesswoman.
So but he left that like behind.OK, he left that he's happy to
leave the grind. He wants to just make a cider,
live in the small town and he's like Maria Menudos, you should
do the same thing and just stay here.
But she, you know, she's always business, business, business.
She, she tastes the wine and she's like, this is amazing.

(29:22):
Everyone should know about this wine.
And, and her, her, her boss is calling.
He's like, I, I tracked your phone and I know you're doing a
secret project abroad and getting that real estate.
And she's like, I'm not, I'm just here because of a lawyer
thing and whatever. And he's like, you can't trick

(29:43):
me. So he like starts working on the
side to get like bidders and like people like for whatever
the secret project is. He's like ready to do the
business. That's right, that he, they,
everybody always sees business opportunities all the time,
everywhere. Yeah, and there's also a hot Co
worker who keeps calling her, but nothing comes to that.

(30:04):
I was really disappointed. But the hot, I think the hot Co
worker's name is Daniel. Yeah, well, I mean, it had to
be, right, yeah. Yeah, and like it it never mind.
I'm not going. There, now can we?
Are we at the point where they go to the church?
Because it's really the only scene that matters in this
movie. Oh boy, they don't.

(30:26):
It's the see it on Lifetime on court.
Oh, did you post it? Oh, it's so good, So good.
OK, so they go to church and oneof the handbell people called
out. Sick.
He did post this on the so. Maria, they say.
Maria. Menounos, you got to come and

(30:47):
play the handbell. Don't worry, it's only it's only
one note. And so.
And don't forget the chorus member who called out for being
sick had a rash. That's right.
Oh boy. I'm just saying like, you know,
put some, you know, hydrocortisone on that and
power. Through.
Rub some dirt. Rub some dirt on that rash.

(31:07):
Rub some dirt on that rash. It can't hurt it can't.
It can't hurt it. I don't know if I'm should be
mad at that yet. So I don't think so.
So she is waiting and her face while she's waiting is so funny
to me. It is just like, it's so funny,
this entire scene. And then it gets to her point

(31:28):
where she has to ring the bell and she launches, flings the
bell, flings the bell, slow motion, Bang, Bang.
So great. Bang.
And then everybody's tears and stands up and cheers do.
You ever have to play the handbills?
No, I never got to play the handbills.
I had never. Played on church.
Yeah, the gloves had the gloves. You probably.

(31:49):
Really like the gloves, didn't she?
A little weirdo. I I I wish I liked.
The glove. You had a thing for gloves?
I'd had a super big thing for gloves.
She caught me. If she was wearing gloves in
this movie, you would have. Gotten nothing.
I don't watch the whole. Thing she's she is was using
these bells gloveless. First of all what do you do?
And that might be why she dropped it.
Yeah. They're slippery well and the

(32:11):
the handles are rubber. I didn't know that.
Yeah, I don't think they were using regulation handbells first
of. All OK, OK, it looked very
floppy and you know the whole scene is like giving it.
Did look like a a real handbell to me in my expertise of OK high
school church. I was wondering, I was wondering
now the. One thing that bothered me about

(32:32):
this particular scene, I don't know if it bothered you,
Patrick, but what happens when you slow a video down?
What happens to? The sound it it becomes a
distorted, distorted and. Deeper and it it affects it.
This slow motion bell stayed on pitch for what the bell should

(32:54):
sound like. Interesting, and that bothered
me for some. Reason.
I mean, that's a tough spot to be in as an editor because you
either have to do the thing. I would have liked it to.
They should. Have played it funnier, like
really? I I would have played it
funnier. Yeah, that.
Would make the most sense. Yes, but they kept it on the
that's the right pitch, which which bothered me.
Yes, Beth Dan does have a glove kink.
I. Can't believe we're doing this

(33:15):
right now. I told you to keep it private.
Well. So yeah, it's a very funny scene
and I would recommend going to Lifetime Uncourt social media
and and check it out. It it truly is all you need to
see in this. Movie It is the only thing you
have to see in this movie especially especially when you
find out what the clues are leading to in this house.

(33:37):
Can't wait, can't wait to hear. Sorry, go ahead.
Well, I was just going to say like, if you can find a pull
clip from a movie, that's a win,that's a win, that's a win,
right? So yes, this is very like old
school Hallmark. They like do a baking scene.
There's the whole like thing with the what are the random

(34:00):
things that they do? Oh, they pet a lamb.
They befriend a little girl. You know your classic, your
classic Hallmark tropes, your baking scene.
You're meeting a little girl. You're petting a lamb.
All the things that you check the boxes off in a Christmas
movie, those are the type of things you can.
Find in Christmas movie magic available right now.

(34:23):
I played the Petting a Lamb cardlast night.
I. Won.
The game for me, I will say a lot of these cards, sometimes
you're like, am I going to get to play this?
Am I going to get to play this? Never discard the Petting a Lamb
card. It'll come up.
That's right. And so Christmas will be Magic.
Available right now. Deck thehomework.com/game.
There you go, there you go. They a kiss and it is implied
that they have a little sexy time it.

(34:45):
Is implied. When they wake up the next
morning, he's making the full English breakfast with the blood
sausage and all that. It is as implied as the sexy
movie was last year and Lifetime.
Yep. Yes, yes, it really was so, but.
Maria Nunos isn't going out. There Maria Nunos, Maria Nunos,
Maria. Nunos, she wasn't going out

(35:07):
there and going on Access Hollywood being like lifetimes.
Getting on I'm. Happy because she knows that.
She knew that'd be a lot. She know knows it.
She knows it. It's the great.
Level. So the boss shows up.
You know it's time to wreck thisrelationship.
Take a Wrecking Ball to it. Wrecking Ball.

(35:30):
Yep, Yep, Miley's there. They they are like, oh, hey,
here's a, a buyer for the development you've been
developing. And Alfie, the guy is pissed.
He's like, Oh my gosh, what's going on?
He finds, he finds the blueprints and he opens them up

(35:51):
and they're, they're blue. They're.
Good the they're this is. They're on blue paper.
Oh my God, it's the funniest thing it's.
And he's having a yes, a very dramatic moment, holding this
blue paper. How do you?
Explain this Marina Nonos. Yeah, and there's like post its
on it. I mean, it's a bad, it's a bad,

(36:13):
it's a bad blue. Paper.
Oh my goodness. Look how mad he looks in that
picture. He's so.
Mad had, and Miranda noticed. It's like, oh, it's all a
misunderstanding. But isn't it a good design that
I drew? It's.
A great. Design and we finally get to the
mystery it's time to solve this thing you know before we repair

(36:36):
the relationship we Maria Menudos finds a key inside a
Christmas ornament. Don't ask in class open splits
open like a like an Easter egg. And she goes downstairs.
She opens up a room and in the room next to the wine cellar is
an underground portal to a castle or something.

(36:58):
It has something called a Normanarch.
That's right, A Norman. Arch Man.
That's the thing, That's the thing.
The Norman arch is the big deal here.
I saw it coming a mile away whenyou started, when you started
talking about the volume of her hair, I was like, this is a
Norman. Arch Movie This is another part
of this movie that I love. Is there are these two people
that are interested in buying the place and she brings them

(37:21):
down to the estate shows in the Norman arch and they're like,
we're doubling it where we'll name your price and she's like
price. For the Norman Arch.
It's not for sale. So mean to bring them back down
there. They're show them the Norman
arch in person just to say not for you.
Not this Norman arch. They really want they really

(37:44):
want that Norman arch, which is a semicircular arch.
The chief characterist of the Norman arch is a semicircular
arch, often combined with a massive cylinder cylindro
pillars. And you wrote that?
Yeah, you did. I wrote that on my blog Lifetime
in court.com. I just copied it from Wikipedia,
no. Just stole it straight from
Wikipedia. How dare.
You. No, I I cite my sources.

(38:06):
Of course I. Do yeah.
No, I can't even like cite my own brain or remember what I
literally just wrote the. Brain, you know, The thing is,
you don't have to, Patrick. That's The thing is it's yours,
OK? I'm I'm covered, then legally
I'm covered. You are covered from your own
brain, yes. So Alfie and Menudos apologize.

(38:28):
They decide to open up One Hill Manor as a museum slash.
We didn't. We're not done.
We throw all the holiday partiesand the first one starts
immediately. Everyone dresses up and Maria
Menudos looks amazing. She signs the contracts and get
Alfie gives her a fancy pen to sign the contracts with for
Christmas. Not a flat iron.

(38:51):
Wow. And then one more thing happens,
one more thing happens. This.
Movie won't end. This is the experience that I
had watched movie. I'm like, yeah, like, this is
the end, right? No, no, no.
The following year, Maria Menounos sends a Christmas card
to her boss. Her boss is at work in the
office with no desktop computer. And it's her with Alfie and the

(39:12):
lamb. The lamb that she petted the
little girls nowhere to be found.
Her hair looks great in the picture and the the man is
wearing a sheep skin like a sheep jacket on the inside.
You know the the jacket that's. Got the wool on the inside,
yeah. I think that's inappropriate
when you're holding a lamb to wear the mother at the same

(39:34):
time. Do you think it's real lamb or
it's foe lamb? It's it's real.
I don't think the. Wearing.
I don't think the Lamb knows that.
Yeah, the Lamb clocks it and they're.
Like the lamb sees that, foe or no.
Yeah, but the lamb is not in. For no, It's rude and
inconsiderate at the very least. They've lost a lot of good
brothers. They've lost their brothers and

(39:54):
their sisters, mothers and theirmothers.
And. Their daughters be good to your
daughters. Don't let them get slain for
target. That be good to you.
Wow. Let's become.
Sheep, sheep. OK, OK.

(40:17):
Sweatshirts. Sweatshirts.
OK. OK, OK, Lab Mayor, please.
I'll put in your cork. Yeah.
OK. Great.
Daddy. What?
What? Loathe this movie I.
Am pouring up this episode as mynew favorite deck of the
lifetime. Uncorked episode.
Why? A lot of things happened here,
very little which had to do withthe movie.

(40:38):
We didn't have to hem and Haw about the the inter workings of
the plot of this film. We talk more about Maria
Menounos's hair. We had a lot of fun movie talk
at the beginning. We had some fun bits, some fun
jokes. Kink was exposed.
The the glove kink, I'm fine. Just great.
Great that it's out there now. Been high with that for a long
time. Patrick got to experience I'm

(41:00):
lonely for the first time. There's a lot to love here.
There's nothing to love about this movie.
Maria, Maria Nonos or not, we'regoing to put a cork right in it.
Patrick Right, right. Well, I what did I say on my
blog? I should stick to this after you
guys called me out last time for.
Follow your heart with this one.I think it'll lead you to the

(41:22):
right place. That's right.
I put a cork in it on my blog. 1Christmas tree, one glass of
wine, enjoyment level. And you know, I would say that
come out of the gate. I was hopeful for Maria
Menounos, and I still think she's great, but I think this
movie was so boring and nothing happened it it wasn't really

(41:43):
Christmassy at all. And you know, yeah, that's it.
Yeah, this movie's a turd. But tonight, I believe it's
tonight that the next movie is Christmas in the spotlight.
Is that right? Have a reason?
To spot the spotlight, the definitely not Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce love story. For sure not.

(42:05):
No. And they're putting it out
before holiday touchdowns, so look at them.
They're doing it. Wow, they really scooped him on
that one, that lifetime. But yeah, we'll see how that
goes. Would sure will join join us.
Well, yeah, join us next, next Saturday, Patrick, you'll be
back and we'll talk about that movie and then join us tomorrow

(42:29):
for another episode of Deck THE Homework.
And another week begins. Yeah.
It's all it all. It's it never, never stop.
Never stop. And we'll be here when you need
us. We're here when you need us
until then, and we're the 1st towish you.
