Speaker 1 (00:04):
No.
I was driving in to work on thebeltway earlier this week.
And as I was riding along, I waslistening to Murphy and cash in
the morning on 100.3, the oldiestation and this little jingle
came on.
That was so funny that I waslaughing out loud, driving down
the beltway in my automobile.
And I thought, well, maybe youmight like to hear, would you
(00:25):
guys like to hear it?
Well, the R one way or theother.
So, but anyway, here it was, this is what I was listening to.
I think you'll enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Gavin, Gavin,
[inaudible] another backup
existing fan, another Mon.
And I'm going nowhere and makeupto the left of me, breakfast to
the[inaudible] down the beltway.
(01:07):
It's so hard to keep my foot onthe brake.
[inaudible] to the left of me,to the right on the beltway,
eight 30, I haven't made thebridge just grieving.
(01:32):
So I sit back and say, wow,[inaudible] I know the food is
the Jersey wall.
Oh no, I don't think I can digit shaven to the left of me,
(02:00):
nose picker to the ride here.
I am stuck on the ballet.
I can't take it.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Awesome.
Well, the way Murphy led intothis song is here's what he
said.
He said, drive it on the beltwayin rush hour is the one thing
that everybody in Washington hasto deal with.
You know, I got to thinkinglater, that's not really true.
I mean, this isn't somethingthat everybody in Washington has
(02:37):
to deal with.
Not everybody in Washingtondrives on the beltway at rush
hour, but I also thought thereis one thing that everybody in
Washington does have to dealwith, and that is their death
and how they plan to get toheaven.
And so that's what I want totalk to you about today.
We're in a series entitledJesus's most outrageous.
(02:59):
And if you remember, we're goingthrough the gospel accounts and
we're picking out 12 of the mostradical things that Jesus ever
said, we're doing a message oneach one of them.
And then we're trying to answerthe question.
Well, so what we've done threealready, and if you missed any
of these three they're in thebookstore and tape and CD, I
encourage you to pick them uptoday.
(03:20):
We're ready to do outrageoussaying number four.
And so I'd like to ask you ifyou brought your Bible to open
with me to John chapter 14,Matthew mark, Luke John fourth
book in the new Testament, chapter 14, if you did not bring
a Bible, Hey, reach right underthe arm, rest there in your
chair.
And you'll find a Bible rightunder the arm rest.
(03:40):
We're going to be on page 763,page 7 63 in our copy, John 14
in your copy.
And while you're turning, let megive you a little bit of
background here in John chapter14, Jesus is talking to his
disciples during the last suffer.
And while they're talking, thesubject of heaven comes up.
(04:01):
And so Jesus in response saysthis about heaven.
Verse two, John 14.
He said in my father's house, there are many rooms.
If it were not.
So I would have told you I'mgoing there to prepare a place
for you.
And if I go and prepare a placefor you, I will come back and
take you to be with me.
(04:23):
That you may also be where I amnow with his words here in John
14, Jesus confirms for us thatthere is a real place called
heaven where real people goafter they die.
In fact, Jesus talked aboutheaven all the time.
He said John six verse 38 for Ihave come down from heaven, not
(04:44):
to do my own will, but to do thewill of him who sent me.
He taught us to pray in theLord's prayer.
Our father who art in heaven.
He said in mark chapter 12, hetalked about the angels that
live in heaven.
He said in Matthew chapter five, verse 11, blessed are you when
people persecute you because ofme rejoice and be glad for great
(05:07):
will be your reward in heaven.
And finally, in Luke 23, whilehanging on the cross, Jesus
turned to the thief next to himand said, today you will be with
me in paradise, in heaven.
You say, well on, you know what?
I hear all that.
And that's okay.
But you know what?
I, I don't really believe inheaven and a hell after this
(05:30):
life.
I don't believe they're realplaces.
I believe that heaven and hellare right here on earth.
It's kinda what you make out ofthis life.
Well, friends, you know, you'reentitled to your opinion.
That's fine.
The only problem with youropinion is that the only person
that's ever been to the otherside of the grave and come back
to tell us about it.
The Lord Jesus Christ says thatyour opinion is wrong.
(05:52):
He says there is a reallegitimate place on the other
side of the grave called heaven.
Another one called Hale and realpeople go to both of these
places.
Now, when we look in the Bibleactually to find a, a long and
detailed description of heaven, the truth is we can find him.
In fact, Paul says secondCorinthians chapter 12, that he
(06:13):
was caught up by God and allowedto see heaven.
But God instructed him.
When he came back, not to tellus anything about it.
You say, well, why would God dothat?
I think because God knew if weunderstood how unbelievably
awesome heaven really is, noneof us would be willing to stay
here.
We'd all be placing calls to Dr.
Kevorkian to come see us becausewe'd all want to go.
(06:36):
The most.
The Bible tells us about heaven.
Anywhere is in the book ofrevelation, chapter 21.
And here's what we find out.
We find out that in heaven, number one, God himself will be
there with us.
We find out that in heaven, thewater of eternal life will be
dispensed freely.
We find out that in heaven, thegates are made of Pearl and the
(06:57):
streets are made of gold.
We find out that in heaven, there is no sun.
There is no moon because theglory of God himself provides
the light for heaven.
We find out that in heaven, there's no nights.
We find out that in heaven, there's nothing impure,
shameful, deceitful, or unholythere in heaven.
There is no longer any curse.
(07:18):
Allah Genesis chapter three, which means that in heaven,
there are no more tears, no moredeath, no more sorrow, no more
pain, no more crying.
As the Bible says, this oldorder of things has passed away.
And the best part of all is thatin heaven, we shall see his
face.
(07:39):
Face-to-face with the livingChrist himself.
This is the place that Jesus istalking about.
His disciples right here in Johnchapter 14, verse four
continues.
And Jesus said to them, he said, and you know the way to get to
this place where I'm going,Thomas spoke up and said, Lord,
we don't know where we don'teven know where you go in.
(08:01):
How in the world can we possiblyknow the way to get there?
And you're ready here.
It comes.
One of the most outrageousthings anybody ever said, Jesus
said, Thomas, I am the way.
And the truth and the life, nobody comes to the father.
Nobody gets into heaven wherethe father is, unless they come
(08:25):
through me here, friends, wehave the clearest statement ever
made by Jesus as to how a persongets into this awesome place
called heaven.
And what does Jesus tell ushere?
He tells us that sincerity humansincerity is not the basis on
which God lets people intoheaven.
He tells us here that human zealfor God is not the basis on
(08:49):
which God lets people intoheaven.
I mean, think about it.
There are many sincere Catholicpeople who attend mass every
day.
There are many zealous Jewishpeople who keep kosher and go to
synagogue.
Every day.
There are many sincere Muslimswho pray five times a day and
make pilgrimages to Mecca.
There are many zealous Hinduswho touch no beef products and
(09:12):
bathe in the Ganges.
There are many sincere Baptistswho don't drink or cuss or smoke
or chew or hang around withthem, which do, if you
understand what I'm saying, butJesus tells us here that no, God
doesn't let any of these peopleinto heaven on the basis of
their sincerity or their humanzeal for God, nobody gets into
(09:33):
heaven on that basis.
People get into heaven on onebasis only.
And that basis is personal faithin Jesus Christ, personal
reliance on the blood of Jesusshed on the cross to pay for
their sin.
Personally, embracing JesusChrist as their Lord and savior.
This is the constant message ofthe Bible.
(09:54):
The unbroken message of theBible.
The only equivocable message ofthe Bible, John 14, six to
repeat it.
Jesus said, I am the way thetruth and the life.
Nobody, nobody comes to thefather.
Nobody gets into heaven and getseternal life unless they come by
(10:15):
way of me.
Now there's no wiggle room here.
There's no negotiations here.
There's no equivocation here.
This is what the Bible says.
Now that's as far as we want togo in John 14 right now, because
it's time for us to ask our mostimportant question and everybody
knows what it is.
(10:35):
Right.
You know, our most importantquestion.
Right, right, right.
Okay.
So are we ready?
Are we ready?
Here we go.
1, 2, 3.
Ah.
Yeah.
Say lawn.
So what say all right.
All right.
So Jesus said this.
I mean, what difference does itmake to me when I walk out of my
house on Monday morning to go toschool, to go to work, but
(10:55):
different to make to me, well,I'm going to see if I can answer
that question for you.
This past Tuesday, I had agentleman come in to see me in
my office.
And he said, you know, he said,I was born into a Hindu family.
I was raised in a Buddhistcountry.
Now I live in America and I'vebeen coming to this church and
I've come in today because Iwant to volunteer my services
(11:16):
here at McLean Bible church.
Now, you know us, we're all overit when somebody wants to
volunteer around here.
And so I said, that's great.
That's wonderful.
I said, but just tell me, areyou a follower of Jesus Christ?
He said, yes, I am.
I said, that's great.
He said, I'm also a follower ofBuddha, Muhammad Confucius, and
everybody else that tries tohelp people get to God.
(11:38):
I said, well, sir, that's aproblem.
I sit in.
The problem is that Jesus said, none of these other people are
helping anybody get to God.
None of these people can helpanybody get to God.
Jesus said, John 14, six, nobodygets to God unless they come by
way of me.
He said, well, I believe thereare many ways to God.
(11:59):
Not just one.
I said, well, sir, there's aproblem with your view.
The problem with your view isJesus says, you're wrong.
He said, well, no, that'saccording to what you believe.
I said, no, it's not.
According to what I believe.
It's according to what Jesussays right here in the Bible, I
am the way the truth and thelife.
Nobody comes to the father, unless they come by way of me.
(12:20):
That's what Jesus said.
He said, no, that's just yourinterpretation said my
interpretation.
There's no interpretation to it.
It's a straightforward readingof the Bible.
He said, well, according to howyou read it, according to how
you see it, he said, you knowwhat lawn?
He said, you need to show peoplemore respect.
I said, really?
He said, yeah, you need to givepeople the freedom to try to get
(12:42):
to God any way they want to getto God.
I said, sir, listen, I'm happyto let people try to get to God
anywhere they want to.
My job on this earth is just totell them any other way.
They try to get there is notgoing to work.
That's my job.
My job is to warn them.
If they try to go some otherway, it's going to end up in
disaster.
He said, well, that's accordingto how you believe.
(13:03):
I said, well, wait a minute,John 14, six says the, I, nobody
gets there.
But through me I said, Jesus iseither a lunatic or he's telling
the truth, which is it.
He said, well, I'm not evengoing to answer that question
because it's all based on yourinterpretation of what he said.
We went round and round andround.
(13:23):
And when he left after a half anhour, I was exhausted.
I felt like I'd been trying tonail jello to the wall.
If you understand what I'msaying.
But you know, there are a lot ofpeople in our world just like
this gentleman who have realstruggles about this idea, that
there's only one way to get toGod.
And it's only through JesusChrist only by embracing him as
(13:44):
his, as your personal savior.
Maybe you are.
You're one of these people whostruggle with this.
Well, if you are, let me say youcame to the right place today
because this is what I want totry to fix once.
And for all in your mind andyour thinking with the truth of
the word of God, what does theBible say about people who are
outside of Jesus Christ?
Well, listen, John 3 36, whoeverbelieves in the son, Jesus has
(14:09):
eternal life watch, but whoeverrejects, the son will not see
eternal life for God's wrath.
God's judgment remains sits reston that person.
John three 18, whoever does notbelieve in Christ stands
condemned already.
Jesus said because they have notbelieved in the name of God's
(14:30):
one and only son, first, Johnchapter five, verse 11.
And this is the record that Godhas given us eternal life.
And this life is in his son.
He who has the son has eternallife.
Watch this now.
And he who does not have the sonof God, does not have eternal
(14:51):
life.
How can you say it any clearerthan that?
This is why Peter said actschapter four, verse 12, that
salvation is found in no oneelse for there is no other name
under heaven.
Not Buddha, not Confucius, notMuhammad, not Joseph Smith, not
rabbi anybody.
There is no other name underheaven by which we can be
(15:13):
delivered.
And just in case there's anydoubt, listen to what Paul said.
Second, third festival Odianschapter one, verse eight.
He said, God will punish thosewho do not know God and do not
obey the message of our LordJesus Christ.
They will be punished witheverlasting destruction and will
be shut out from the presence ofthe Lord and from the majesty of
(15:36):
his power.
Or we could just go back and putit in the simple terms that
Jesus put it.
He said, no one comes to thefather.
No one gets into heaven, exceptthrough me.
There it is folks that is theconsistent and unequivocal
(15:56):
position of the Bible.
Now you say, well, lawn, youknow what?
I hear you what you're saying, but I have some objections to
all of this really?
I do.
In fact, I got five of them.
Well, let me see what they areand we'll see if we can answer
them all he say, all right, objection, number one is this
aren't you?
Why are you being so intolerant?
I mean, aren't you just thenarrow and intolerant by saying
there's only one way to get toheaven.
(16:18):
We live in a pluralistic worldlawn.
We live in a tolerant world.
Come on now.
Well, friends, you know what?
There are a lot of things in ourpluralistic world that there's
only one way to do them.
For example, there is only oneway in this world to add two
plus two, you do it all daylong.
It's going to come out exactlythe same.
There is only one way in thisworld to launch the nuclear
arsenal of the United States ofAmerica.
(16:40):
There was only one way in theworld to land a jet on an
aircraft carrier.
Believe me.
And you know, there was only oneway in our world to look like
Arnold Schwartzenegger looks orlike I used to look and we'll
show you what I used to looklike.
There I am.
Uh, the old memories, there area lot of things in our world.
(17:03):
There are only one way to dothem friends.
So why should it bother us?
If God says there's only one wayto get to heaven?
He said, all right.
All right.
All right.
I got another objection.
And my second objection is whywould God be so unfair then to
people who don't believe inJesus Christ?
Well, you know, just asking thatquestion tells me that
spiritually, you've got thefastest on the wrong syllable.
(17:26):
You understand what I'm saying?
Listen, Romans chapter fiveverse 12 says, therefore, sin
enter the world through one man,Adam and death through sin.
And so death passed on all men.
The Bible tells us that whenAdam and Eve disobeyed God in
the garden of Eden, they broughta flaw upon the entire human
(17:47):
race, a flaw that the Biblecalls our sin nature.
It is like a defective gene thatevery one of us come into the
world with.
And the result is every one ofus, Ephesians chapter two says
is born spiritually dead.
We are born alienated from God,separated from God.
And under God's judgment.
(18:07):
Now God in his mercy made a wayfor us to escape this
predicament.
He made a way in his mercy forus to get out of this trouble.
And it's by believing in JesusChrist.
It's by what Jesus did for us onthe cross.
But friends, if a person rejectsGod's way of deliverance, if he
spurns God's offer of mercy anddecides to go his own way, and
(18:30):
this person ends up experiencingGod's judgment is God's been
warning them in the Bible.
They're going to, how does thatmake God unfair?
Listen, this is not about Godbeing unfair.
This is about people beingfoolish.
You say, well, well, well wait aminute, but I got another
objection.
What about if a person neverhears about Jesus Christ lawn?
(18:51):
I mean, what if a person livesin deepest, darkest Africa,
friends, they could live indeepest, darkest Washington.
I'm convinced they never hearabout Jesus.
So he say, what about them?
Well, the Bible tells you aboutthem.
Look what the Bible says.
Romans chapter one, verse 20.
It says for, since the creationof the world, God's invisible
qualities, namely his eternalpower and his divine nature have
(19:15):
been clearly on display so thatpeople are without excuse.
And if you read the passage, what the Bible goes on to say is
that there is enough about Godand creation.
There is enough about Godrevealed in our natural world so
that every human being aliveought to be able to look at the
natural world and recognizethere is a supernatural, mighty
(19:39):
awesome creator.
You know, my son is a medicaldoctor and I said to him, a
number of times, Jamie, I do notunderstand how anybody could go
through medical training andlook at the precision of the
human body.
Look at the complexity of thehuman body.
Look at the perfection of thehuman body and come out of that.
Not believing in God.
(20:00):
I don't see how that's possible.
Well, it's not just the humanbody is the trees.
It's the sky is the laws of thephysical universe.
God says there's enough here sothat we ought to be able to look
around and say, oh my gosh, wedidn't do all this.
It couldn't have happened byitself.
There has got to be a God.
(20:20):
Now, once we do that, God takesit upon himself to then get us
the rest of the information weneed.
So we can close the deal withJesus Christ, whether we live in
Africa or whether we live inWashington, doesn't make any
difference.
And I know that's true becausethat's my life story.
When I was sick, when I was 16years old, a little curly hair,
(20:41):
Jewish boy, 1965, I'm 56.
I'll save you the trouble.
Okay.
Uh, I w I got the opportunity togo to Virginia tech for six
weeks as part of a nationalscience foundation, summer
program.
We lived in the dorm and everymorning we had classes together.
And every afternoon we didresearch projects individually.
(21:02):
And our classwork that year wason enzymes in the morning.
Do you know?
There are literally hundreds andhundreds of thousands of enzymes
right now in your body, carryingon every chemical reaction that
goes on in your body.
And every single chemicalreaction that goes on in your
body is code specific.
Meaning that only one enzymewill work.
If that one enzyme is missing, the rest of the enzymes will not
(21:25):
pick up the enzymes job that'smissing.
They have a union contract inyour body.
Do you understand what I'msaying?
And, and you want to see areally sick human being.
You find a human being missingone enzyme out of hundreds of
thousands, and you'll find areally sick person.
Now, I learned that as a youngJewish boy, and I'll never
forget walking back across thatcampus, July, 1965, standing on
(21:49):
the top of the steps of the dormat Virginia tech and looking up
at the sky and saying out loud, there has got to be a God,
because something like this justcouldn't happen.
And I'm convinced at thatmoment, God in heaven went good
for you, Lon.
Good for you.
Good for you.
That's the first step you'rethere.
(22:11):
And I'm going to get you therest of the information line.
Six years later, I was walkingdown the streets of chapel hill,
North Carolina, and bumped intoa guy named Bob Beck carts,
standing there on the streetcorner, giving me the rest of
the information.
I didn't know that God, when Iwas 16, I had no clue how to get
connected to that.
God, when I was 16, but I hadtaken the first step and God saw
(22:31):
to it.
I got the rest of theinformation so that I could
close the deal.
And you know, Bob, that cardcame to chapel hill, North
Carolina for six months, everysingle Saturday, standing on the
tree, the streets handing outtracks.
And as far as we know, I'm theonly person that came to Christ
through his ministry friends.
I like to think God sent BobEckhardt to chapel hill just for
me, because six years before Ihad said, there has got to be a
(22:55):
God and God said, bingo, and I'mgoing to see to it.
You get the chance to know me.
And I believe God does that forany human being in the world who
do what I did.
He said, well, why I help us?
Okay.
Okay.
But wait a minute line.
Here's my fourth objection.
So let's say at first and looksaround and they say, there's
gotta be a God, but let's saythey don't live in America.
(23:17):
You know, they live in someplacewhere the closest religion is
Buddhism or Hinduism or Islam orJudaism or Shintoism, random ism
or whatever.
So, so they, they turned to thatreligion to seek God sincerely.
Won't they like that, man.
Sit in your office.
Be okay, friends.
The answer is no, no.
A thousand times, no.
(23:39):
What did Jesus say?
He said John 14, six, no onecomes to the father except
through me.
What is first John five, say hewho does not have the son of God
does not have eternal life.
You say, well, lawn.
My last objection then is whatabout these people?
If they're sincere in seekingGod through Buddhism or Islam or
(24:01):
Judaism or whatever, couldn'tGod just kind of credit them
with Jesus Christ.
I mean, they still go to heaventhrough Jesus.
They just don't know it.
They still go to heaven throughthe blood of Christ.
They just never heard of it.
God says, well, since you're sosincere in this religion or that
religion, you know what, I'mgoing to credit Jesus Christ to
you.
So you still went to heavenbecause of Jesus.
(24:23):
Isn't that possible?
Couldn't God do that friends.
God could do whatever he wanted, but he says in the Bible, he
doesn't do this.
You say really?
Does it say that all you betcha,Romans chapter 10 verse nine
says if we confess with ourmouth, that Jesus is Lord, not
that Buddha is nice or Mohammedis a prophet or Joseph Smith's
(24:45):
on angel or, or that a rabbiSchneerson thought he was the
Messiah.
When we confess that Jesus isLord and listen, you've got to
know some cognitive informationto do that.
Somebody's got to tell you,Jesus is Lord for you to believe
that.
And the Bible goes on to say, when we believe in our heart,
(25:05):
that God raised Jesus from thedead, somebody's got to have
told you Jesus was raised fromthe dead for you to believe that
when we have that amount ofcognitive information and we
believe it, look, the Bible saysit's then, and only then that we
will be delivered Romans 10, 17,consequently, faith that gets us
(25:26):
into heaven and gives us eternallife comes by hearing the
message.
And the message is heard bymeans of the word of God.
Biblical information.
Listen to me, friends, the mostsincere Muslim, the most sincere
Jewish person, the most sincereBuddhist, the most sincere
Hindu, the most sincere new ageor astrologer or, or American do
(25:48):
good, or it doesn't matter untilthey hear the cognitive facts
about Jesus Christ until theyhear about his Virgin birth and
his deity and his life and hisdeath on the cross and his blood
payment for sin and hisresurrection.
And until they believe thosefacts, that person is lost,
lost, lost.
(26:11):
This is what the word of Godteaches without negotiation.
If you're here today and you'venever trusted Jesus in a real
impersonal way, I'm here to begyou.
I'm here to plead with you.
I'm here to appeal to you to payattention to what we're saying
today, to what God is trying totell you today, are you free to
try to seek God any way youwant?
(26:32):
Sure you are.
That's why hell exists.
God gave you a freewill and hewon't violate it.
But friend, they're dead endstreets.
They won't work.
They're not going to get you toGod made a way to get you to
heaven.
It's the only way to get you toheaven.
And the great news of the Bibleis it works, but you gotta be
willing to come.
God's way.
(26:53):
There's no other way to do it.
And if you're trying to do itsome other way, I'm here to beg
you.
You're going down a dead endstreet.
You need a course correction.
You need a U-turn and you needChrist.
And I said, well, that'swonderful.
I hear that.
But I'm already a believer inJesus.
So what differences does make tome, huh?
I know all of this.
Well friends, what does thismean for you and me as followers
(27:14):
of Christ?
It means first of all, that, apart from Jesus, every single
person, you and I pass every dayon the Metro, on the street at
Starbucks, in the hallway atwork or school, if they don't
know Christ, it means that theyare separated from God.
They are under God's judgmentand they are headed for a
disaster in eternity.
It also means that you and Ihave the information it takes to
(27:38):
change all of that.
They need that information.
There is no other way they canclose the deal with God.
And finally it means that theonly hope that people have is
for us to open our mouth andlovingly tell them this
information, but friends, youknow what?
The only way you and I are goingto do that as followers of
Christ, the only way we're evergoing to be willing to face the
(28:00):
ridicule, the ostracism, thepersecution, and the offended
relationships that often comewhen we're outspoken for our
faith.
The only way we're going to dothat is if we utterly, totally
and completely believe what theBible says on this subject.
If we leave any door open, thatthere's another way for people
to get to heaven.
Besides Christ, our promise, youyou'll end up clamming up.
(28:23):
You'll end up saying, I'm notwilling to pay that price, but
you know, the Bible doesn'tleave another way.
And so let me conclude by sayingthat as a follower of Christ
today, I hope we've put thisissue to bed once.
And for all in your life.
I hope that each of you willwalk out of here today taking to
heart.
The advice of Paul when he wroteTimothy and said, second,
(28:43):
Timothy one do not be ashamed totestify about our Lord folks.
You know what?
Sharing Jesus Christ lovinglywith people in boldly with
people is the apex.
It is the climax of theChristian life.
You can memorize all the Bibleyou want.
You can memorize every scriptureverse in there.
You can read the Bible, studythe Bible, pray and fast.
(29:06):
But if all of that doesn't issueout in an outspoken witness for
Christ in your world, then youmiss the whole point.
You miss the whole point.
The Bible didn't say the greatcommission is doc, go study the
Bible.
The great commission is not gofast and pray.
Those are great things.
The great commission is go telleverybody in the world about
(29:28):
Jesus Christ.
And you know, when it comes toreaching this city for Christ,
I'm just here to tell you, we'renot going to bring this city to
Christ by trying to convinceeverybody to come hear me.
They're not coming.
We're not going to bring thiscity to Christ by you trying to
get everybody to come to McLean,Bible church, they're not coming
and we don't have room for themin this building.
Anyway, the only way we're goingto make an impact on this world
(29:51):
for Christ is by you going outevery day and infiltrating your
world and being outspokenwitnesses for Jesus Christ,
friends.
You are the secret to rockingthis city for Christ.
Not me.
You, you say well on, I don'treally know how to share my
faith.
Ooh, I got something for you.
(30:16):
It's called Christianity 3 0 1starts Monday night.
We'll teach you how to shareyour faith.
That's not an excuse.
That's like saying officer, Ididn't know what the speed limit
was that doesn't work.
No, no.
So if you're not sure, you knowhow to share your faith, you go
out there and sign up a ticketcentral for Christianity 3 0 1
brands.
This is what it's all about.
And this is why I love the song.
(30:37):
Be a missionary every day.
Tell the world that Jesus is theway the Lord is soon returning.
There is no time to lose.
So the a missionary God's ownEmissary be a missionary today.
Love the song.
Now wait a minute, wait aminute.
Before you clap.
Now, it's time for you to standand sing it with me up.
(30:59):
You go, come on, come on.
We're going to do it a littleslower for you, but I want you
to say, come on you ready?
Be a missionary every day.
Tell the world that Jesus is theway the Lord is soon returning.
There is no time to lose.
So be a missionary God's ownEmissary.
(31:23):
Be a missionary today.
Not bad, not bad brands.
Let me tell you, God doesn'twant you to just sing the song.
He wants you to go out and doit.
And I hope you will.
I'm going to pray for that rightnow.
Let's bow together.
Lord Jesus.
(31:44):
We have the most strategic cityin the world that has been
handed to us to reach for JesusChrist.
What a privilege to reach theone city left in the world where
you can honestly say changeWashington, and we can change
the world without ever leavingthis town or Jesus.
That is our duty.
(32:05):
Our calling our responsibility, our mandate as McLean, Bible
church, to infiltrate and impactthis city for Jesus Christ and
father.
The only way we're going to doit is by 10,000 people deciding
they're going to be a missionaryevery day.
They're going to share theinformation that people need to
close the deal that I needed toclose the deal.
(32:28):
And there are people out thereall over Washington partway
through the process who justneed the information.
Lord, I pray that you wouldchallenge us today to walk out
of our house every morning, notjust singing the song, but live
in the life of being amissionary every day, help our
faith and our Bible study andour prayer spill out into an
(32:51):
enthusiasm and a Verve and anexcitement about Jesus Christ.
That's catching and help us rockthis city for Jesus Christ.
If 10,000 early followers ofChrist could rock the entire
Roman empire, we can certainlyrock one city.
If we'll be as outspoken forChrist as they were Lord grant,
(33:11):
that that'd be true.
Use us to impact this town foryour glory.
And we pray these things inJesus name and God's people
said, amen.
