The protests of Rarity, the Fluttershy redundancy, the criticism of Twilight’s “character” - it’s all here. But what makes this episode truly great is how the show uses that fun fan service as a springboard to bigger issues with fandoms, criticism, and how adults view a television show meant for the kids.
