Wetenschapstalent 2019 Special
Deze week zijn er vijf speciale kortere afleveringen van Makkelijk Praten. Iedere dag spreken we één van de vijf finalisten van New Scientist Wetenschapstalent 2019. Vandaag Gerine Lodder, Psycholoog bij Tilburg University over eenzaamheid bij jongeren:
Niet alleen ouderen, maar ook jongeren kunnen last hebben van eenzaamheid. Het onderzoek van Gerine Lodder laat zien dat dit een groot probleem is. Een universele oplossing bestaat helaas niet. Waar de een moeite heeft met sociale vaardigheden, voelt de ander zich eenzaam als gevolg van een negatief zelfbeeld. Eenzaamheid leidt vaak tot problemen zoals depressie en vroegtijdig schoolverlaten. Lodders onderzoek leidde tot Kamervragen en een aangenomen motie die ervoor pleitte om aandacht voor eenzaamheid voortaan ook op jongeren te richten.
