Wetenschapstalent 2019 Special
Deze week zijn er vijf speciale kortere afleveringen van Makkelijk Praten. Iedere dag spreken we één van de vijf finalisten van New Scientist Wetenschapstalent 2019. Vandaag de laatste aflevering met Alie de Boer van Maastricht University over Voedingswetenschappen en Recht:
Wat zeggen gezondheidsclaims op voedingsproducten nou werkelijk? Is frisdrank gezond als er op het label ‘bevat vitamine C’ staat? Je drinkt immers meer dan alleen dat stofje. Alie de Boer bekijkt hoe je wetenschappelijk kunt vaststellen of voeding juridisch gezien veilig en gezond is. Ze zoekt bijvoorbeeld antwoord op de vraag hoe je de gezondheidseffecten van een geheel product in kaart kunt brengen. Betere wet- en regelgeving in combinatie met nieuwe onderzoeksmethoden zorgt er enerzijds voor dat consumenten meer worden beschermd en anderzijds dat bedrijven betere voeding ontwikkelen.
