In Episode 11 of "Talking MEWShop," the MEWShop team speaks with Six Week Alumni and "Emily in Paris" Editor Veronica Rutledge. Veronica talks about how she juggled taking MEWshop's, Six Week Intensive Workshop during the day and night work as an assistant Editor during her time taking the class. She recalls benefiting from Manhattan Edit Workshop's knowledge and networking opportunities. Veronica speaks on how the workshop fosters collaboration and teaches essential editing techniques. She notes how networking proves vital for career growth, with former students helping each other find jobs. Veronica also talks about her career journey as she is now working as an Editor on the hit Netflix show "Emily in Paris." Veronica Rutledge is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker, known for her editing work on the award-winning Hulu series, "Ramy", and the Emmy-nominated series, "Emily in Paris". Her feature editing work includes the romantic comedy, “At Midnight” (Paramount+), starring Diego Boneta, Monica Barbaro, and Anders Holm. As an assistant editor, she worked on the award-winning Showtime series, “The Affair'', and New Line Cinema’s “Isn’t it Romantic”, starring Rebel Wilson. Her documentary short, “A Place on the Edge of Breath” an intimate and lyrical story about gender expression, was selected for the inaugural IF/Then x Hulu Documentary Lab and was an official selection at the New Orleans Film Festival, Montclair Film Festival, and Bushwick Film Festival, where it won best Documentary Short. She holds an MFA from the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema (Brooklyn College).
