Gijs Groenteman is op huisbezoek bij hoogleraar Remco Breuker in Leiden. Breuker is historicus op het gebied van Korea en Noordoost-Azië. Hij is gespecialiseerd in de middeleeuwse geschiedenis van Korea. Samen nemen ze het jaar 2024 door voor zowel Noord- als Zuid-Korea. Ze spreken over de onverwachte coup van president Toon Suk Yeol en K-pop. Maar eigenlijk vindt Breuker de marginale onderwerpen van het land interessanter. Zo is hij al 15 jaar bezig met een vertaling van een Middeleeuws Koreans manuscript dat is geschreven in Oud-Chinees.
