The 2x UFC World Champion didn't have an easy upbringing. His father was unexpectedly murdered when he was just 16 years old. He started working several jobs to pay the bills for his family and take care of his younger brother and Mother.
His rise in the UFC ranks was unexpected but meteoric.
Pettis went from living in the Mitchell Street Lofts trying to get his fighting career off the ground to winning a World Title in front of his home town in 2013 and became the first fighter ever to make the cover of a Wheaties Box. But there's a lot more to the story.
