The Trump administration is beating the drums of war in Latin America. Washington has placed a $50 million bounty on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, accusing him of running a cocaine empire called the Cartel of the Suns.
But experts say the cartel barely registers on the DEA’s radar. Instead, the U.S. is inflating it into a narco-state menace — a pretext for regime change and invasion.
