A single sentence can change the room. When Pastor Linda Budd shares how a midday vision of a man slipping on tile led to a packed healing service, we walk through a chain of moments that start small and end in a surge of hope. Alan arrives with a walker and pain that sits heavy on the body and the mind. His first attempt without support is shaky and slow. Then attention shifts to his wife, whose need to be heard floods the aisle—until a clear command slices through the noise: “Jesus Christ heals you.”

What happens next is both startling and deeply human. She screams, spins, and moves in ways she couldn’t moments before, while Linda is thrown backward by what she describes as the palpable presence of God. The fear of the Lord settles in—less terror, more reverent awe—turning the room from tense effort to steady praise. In the wake of that shift, Pastor Linda returns to Alan and asks him to walk. This time he strides the aisle unaided, color back in his face, posture light and confident. It’s the kind of before-and-after that makes you question limits: are we underestimating what faith, authority, and a simple instruction can unlock?

We open up the anatomy of breakthrough—the role of a timely vision, the discipline of cutting through symptom lists, and the courage to test change in real time. Whether you approach healing ministry with bold belief or careful skepticism, the story offers tangible checkpoints: movement measured, pain challenged, and a community witnessing transformation together. Along the way, we talk about why clarity beats complexity, how awe resets the heart, and what it means to keep walking when the cane or walker has defined your days.

Linda Budd (00:00):
Hi, I'm Linda Budd.
I'm a pastor at RivergateChurch in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
And I take the scripturesliterally that says that we are
to lay hands on the sick and seethem recover.
And so for several years I'vegone after a healing anointing.
I've prayed for people dozensof times over the years.

(00:21):
And I see so many get healed.
I've seen all manner ofsickness and disease healed.
If you have any pain in yourbody, if you're infirmed, if you
have any disease, if you haveany sickness at all, I just
reach my hand up to heaven rightnow in the name of Jesus and I
call forth the new body partthat you need.
Listen to this testimony.

(00:43):
I was taking a nap and suddenlywoke up with a start because I
saw a vision.
It wasn't a dream, it was avision of someone falling on a
slippery floor like a tilefloor.
And it was very vivid and verystrong.

(01:04):
And I knew that he had been, this person had been badly hurt.
So in the Encounters MiracleHealing Service that evening, I
announced this, and an elderlyelderly gentleman by the name of
Alan said it was him, and thathe had fallen on tile floor or
slippery floor twice.

(01:26):
Now he's in great pain and he'swalking with a walker.
And his wife was with him inthe meeting and was just
overcome by this announcement.
So I got Alan up and walked inthe aisle towards me.
And when he got to me with hiswalker, I told him to walk now
without the walker.
He hesitantly took my hand anddid so.

(01:49):
Then maybe was a littleprogress, but not a lot.
So I let him walk back to hisseat.
His wife was waiting for himand she wanted healing.
And she would go on and on andwould not stop talking so that I
could pray for her.
And I asked her to stoptalking, but she would not.
And then she even pulled out asheet of paper and wanted me to

(02:12):
read it to show me all thethings that were wrong in her
body.
Well, that did it for me.
And I told her no, and to stoptalking because Jesus wanted to
heal her.
Well, she still wouldn't stoptalking.
So I yelled at her, JesusChrist heals you.
And suddenly she got hit withso much power from on high.

(02:33):
She screamed and she began tofall out.
And that was the last that Isaw because at the same time
that she got hit with the power,so did I.
I began running backward.
And I knew that I couldn'tstop.
And I was yelling, somebodyhelp me.
Well, I told Judith, I was toldthat Judith at the time that I

(02:53):
was running backward and I wasfalling out that she was
spinning around, jumping andyelling.
I'm healed, I'm healed.
And she was now doing thingsthat she could not have done
previously.
I wanted to watch, but I was soovercome with the fear of God.
Listen, the force of God threwme backwards at the same time,

(03:13):
and I was not afraid, but I wasastonished and the fear of the
Lord hit me.
All I could do was praise himover and over while I was down
on the floor facing the groundworshiping.
I knew that the Father's lovehad shown up big time.
And after I collected myself, Iwent back after Ellen.

(03:33):
I said, Ellen, get up and walk.
And he did.
And now he was walking theaisle without any help
whatsoever.
His entire demeanor changed.
He got color in his face.
He looked 10 years younger tome.
It was absolutely astounding.

(03:55):
If you need healing because youhave fallen, I declare to you
right now, in the name of Jesus, that you are healed.
The pain is leaving your body, the problem is going.
Start walking withoutassistance because you're going
to be able to do it.
And don't go back to thatwalker or that cane or whatever

(04:16):
else.
Just get up and walk in thename of Jesus.
Aren't these just greattestimonies of the goodness of
God and the healing power ofJesus Christ?
If you are interested in havingme come and speak at a
motivational event, your church,or a conference of some sort, I

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
