When Words Wound: Finding Freedom from Sixth-Grade Trauma

Freedom from addiction begins by addressing its roots. Pastor Linda Budd shares a remarkable testimony of spiritual healing that transformed a marriage and broke the chains of sexual addiction that had persisted since childhood.

Hi, I'm Linda Budd.
I'm a pastor at RivergateChurch in Tulsa, oklahoma, and I
take the scriptures literally.
That says that we are to layhands on the sick and see them
recover.
And so for several years I'vegone after a healing anointing.
I've prayed for people dozensof times over the years and I

(00:22):
see so many get healed.
I've seen all manner ofsickness and disease healed.
If you have any pain in yourbody, if you're infirmed, if you
have any disease, if you haveany sickness at all, I just
reach my hand up to heaven rightnow in the name of Jesus and I
call forth the new body partthat you need.

Well, I was doing a powerfulmiracle healing service and a
couple came in that I really hadnot seen very often before a
young couple, and I know theydon't come to my church, they go
somewhere else.
But when I saw him walk in, Iheard the Lord say tell him that
infertility will not be aproblem.
And so, as we were progressing,I did that.

(01:11):
I said I don't know if you havechildren or not, I don't know
if you're trying to havechildren, but infertility will
not be a problem.
And they received it very well.
And so we just kept on going inthe service and people were
getting healed.
And it was getting to be about10 minutes before the service
was to end and I said is thereanyone else that needs a healing

(01:33):
?
Well, this same man lifted hishand and he said I do.
And I said well, what do youneed to be healed up?
And right at that minute hejust bent forward in his chair
and began to sob and sob, andsob and he couldn't talk.
He was crying so hard.
And so I just kept on prayingin the Lord, praying in the Lord
, and finally he was able totell us that when he was in the

sixth grade, his friends hadgirlfriends and he did not have
a girlfriend.
His friends had girlfriends andhe did not have a girlfriend.
And so one of them said to himwell then, you must just be a
homosexual.
And it so wounded him and sohurt him that from that time on
he began looking at stuff thathe should not be looking at.

(02:20):
And he got caught up in that allthe way from sixth grade now to
adult manhood, being a marriedman, and he wanted to be free of
it.
And so we took him all the wayback to the trauma point and
said let's let the Lord heal you, right at the trauma point of
where this was said to you inthe sixth grade and we did some

(02:43):
deliverance there and we castout the spirit that came and
attached itself to him in thattrauma and we said that you're
set free from this.
And we did a lot of prayingthere and just kept flowing with
the Holy Ghost and to the pointwhere, probably after 10
minutes of ministry to thisyoung man, married man, he felt

(03:08):
a total release and his wife wasstanding and watching and I
looked at her and she lookedvery stoic and I put my arms
around her and I said there isno way in the world that this
has been your fault.
This has nothing to do with you, this has nothing to do with
you being desirable or not.

(03:29):
I said you are a great wife.
And she just busted out cryingand she got totally set free and
this young couple walked outjust so, so, happy, and now I
knew why.
The Lord said fertility willnot be a problem for you.
And they were just ecstatic,just so, very happy, and so

(03:54):
forth.
And I heard even today, whichhas been about two weeks later
that he is free from this.
If you are suffering from beingcaught up in an addiction,
please look at your life and seewhen that entered you, what
happened to cause that addictionto enter your life, what trauma

(04:16):
took place, what kind of thingwas said to you, what kind of
thing was done to you.
And then rise up in the name ofJesus and repent for allowing
that trauma to hit you and thencommand every spirit that is
associated with that trauma tocome off of you in the name of
Jesus, and I too believe thatyou will be set free.

(04:39):
Glory to God for healing theway that Jesus heals.
Glory to God for this youngcouple being set free.
Glory to the name of Jesus.
