The end has come for both Charles Smoot and Finavir Avir. At least it would have been so right up until the moment the Far Traveler intervened. Their diverging stories led them down paths of destruction and death. But what does fate have in store for our heroes? We will have to find out in tody's episode of The Gate Chronicles.

Charles Smoot successfully enacted the beginning of his plan. After disposing of Captain Brandt, Seraphius was able to take over leadership of the red guard encampment. With the men now under control, it would be easy to plant the explosives without interference. But as Charles Smoot went to fetch the explosives, he came across a very strange boatsman. With the ominous ally ferrying him across the river, Charles is just about ready...

Using his chance, Finavir explored the Order Bishop's quarters, searching for any leverage to aid in his means of escape. What he came across there certainly gave him all he needed. With little time left on his hands, Finavir delved into a secret tunnel that he and Kristoph discovered in the Bishop's quarters. Now, he may be stuck between a rock and a hard place.
