The 15 book young adult series, The Circle of Three by Isobel Bird, is magical time-capsule of what is was like being a young 90’s witch. The series was groundbreaking at the time because of its realistic portrayal of the Wiccan life, the Pagan community, and the struggle with mainstream society that continues to this day. It also featured topics not often written about in young adult literature at the time, such as LGBT issues and characters, including possibly the first drag queen in a YA novel! The author of this series joins us today to talk about how these books were published when even fantasy books about Witchcraft were being banned, their continuing legacy of magic, and the power of finding your purpose.
