剧情简讯：
拿到了合体钥匙的伊森·亨特（汤姆·克鲁斯 饰）得到美国政府的支持，要通过航母路线找到当初沉没了的潜艇遗址，取得已经掌控世界网络并正在攻击各国政府核武器系统的智能体原代码。与此同时，他的老对手盖布瑞尔（埃塞·莫拉雷斯 饰）也在寻找控制智能体的机会。盖布瑞尔从牺牲了的卢瑟手中得到可以瓦解智能体的小程序，但两人都需要对方手中的物件才能控制智能体。伊森算准了智能体要在引起全球核危机的时刻藏身到一处地下数据中心，而他要联合他的团队在危急关头卡住智能体的自我复制并阻止核武器摧毁人类世界。
