In February of 2023, Lloyd Devereux Richards went viral on BookTok after his daughter Marguerite posted a series of heartwarming videos that accrued over 49.2 million views. Readers fell for the serene, rural Vermont home where Richards could be found walking their dogs and feeding the neighbor’s sheep as his book, Stone Maidens, skyrocketed out of obscurity to #1 on Amazon.
National media such as the TODAY Show, NPR, Tamron Hall, Fox News, and many more covered the feel-good story of the father/daughter duo, highlighting the humble writer who always put his family first. Stone Maidens was just the beginning of Richards’ writing journey. Now, his sequel novel, Maidens of the Cave, is releasing from HarperCollins and we welcome him to the show.
In this can't-miss interview, we meet Lloyd and his daughter Marguerite, who talk about TikTok as a life-changing app, as well as the craft of writing, and helping other writers along the way.
