Our God loves those who are suffering but He does not enjoy our suffering. When we get closer to God's heart, we get to see how much God cares for those who are hurt and desires to heal us.

As we close out the book of Jonah, we'll see that not only has Jonah not changed, but God hasn't either. The mission of God hasn't changed or stopped because the heart of God has been on a mission to restore. The question for us, as was for Jonah, is whether we will join in on God's mission as we know his heart.

God's heart is compassionate and missional. But sometimes, we choose to run away from God, because we are afraid of what it truly means to be compassionate and missional. Even then, God runs to us and receives us with grace.
