We have a lot to talk about andwe're going to talk a ton about
the Chicago Bears, calebWilliams, shane Waldron, matt

(00:43):
Iberflues and what's going onover there.
But first let's kick it off.
Hey man, hey man.
That's the little segment.
We got a couple things we gotto talk about, including Arthur
Blank putting himself in thering of honor in Atlanta on
Sunday Night.
Football Bears fourth down speedoptions.
What are we doing here?
Is this exactly where wethought we would be?

(01:05):
Did the hopeful blinders coverour eyes?
And now we knew we were atwhere we thought we would be in
the first place, around theshield, around the NFL.
Our pound for pound is MattLaFleur, the best coach in the
NFL.
He's got Malik Willis playingball.
Steelers, j Field resurgenceDolphins, cowboys, browns Are

(01:30):
they all finished?
Shaky quarterbacks gamblingI'll put money on Will Levis man
, we'll talk about it.
No catch-up sports talk for you, chicago.
Let's get to it.
Big Nick the Click, what'shappening?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
How we feeling.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Week three I'm only on one cup of coffee today, oh
man, I'm already on three.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I'm charged up.
I'm charged up.
Man had a busy day yesterday.
I don't think I moved for 10straight hours.
This was the first Sunday whereI was just fully you was really
posted, really posted, justposted up.
Tough, had a busy week oftravel.
I was looking forward to it allweek, didn't do anything.

(02:11):
It was raining outside so therewas no, no reason to even leave
the house.
You know, sometimes you feelcompelled to.
You know, catch, catch, acouple rays there was perfect.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Okay, yeah, I definitely feel you.
I know exactly what you'retalking about.
It's a good weekend in New YorkCity, kicked it.
But Sunday is always the best.
You just get back to the crib, kick your feet up, get some grub
and watch ball.
That's exactly what we're aboutto talk about.
But first things first man.

(02:37):
Hey man, arthur Blank.
Sunday Night Football, big Nickthe Quick put himself in the
ring of honor in his own stadium.
Hey man, look, you own the team.
All right, my brother.
First of all, you don't got notitles, we can start there.

(03:03):
You don't got no titles, we canstart there.
I'm trying to figure out thethought process.
Like you know, when thesedecisions are made, nick, people
are sitting down around a tableand everybody's like so what do
you think about?
You know Arthur putting hisname in the ring of honor?
Or did Arthur just walk in likeyeah, we putting my shit on the

(03:24):
?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
ring of Arthur, the ring of honor versus versus the
Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
This is what we're doing.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
I think that that has to be what it is, because
usually a ring of honor is forpeople who are no longer
actively involved in thefranchise.
Like if you had told me like,oh, they're gonna put Julio
Jones in the ring of honor.
If you had told me they'regonna put Mike Vic in the ring
of honor, if you had told methey're going to put Mike Vick
in the ring of honor, if you hadtold me they're going to put
shout out, michael the burnerTurner in the ring of honor
somebody like that I'd be likeokay, I understand.

(03:50):
Arthur blank still currentlyowns the team.
He is the owner of the Falcons,it is his team, so you're
honoring him as he currentlyowns the team.
To your point.
He hasn't won any titles, uh,whatever, I think that that's
almost secondary.
I think the biggest thing is hecurrently owns the team and any
decision that goes through theatlanta falcons ultimately gets

(04:10):
signed off by arthur blank, meaning that at some point in
time, he either a came up withthis idea or be, at the very
least, signed off on it and waslike yes, this is a good idea.
So I thought it was hilarious.
Man, they shot to goodell andthere's wife.
They're like goodell's in thebuilding tonight, obviously to
catch the game with his wife, but he's here for arthur blank's
ring of honor and I immediatelystarted just dying.

(04:32):
I should have hit you and justbeen like, hey, what are you
doing here?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
but wait what we brought it up this morning hey,
and I'm not, look man, you youknow I'm saying you've had a
great life.
You got your bread.
I think it's the Home Depot.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Money is where he got his bread, he's got Home.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Depot money.
Yeah, he's got a lot of money.
He got the Home Depot bread.
He's been a decent ownerthroughout the years.
Great building down there.
I've been there a few times.
Mercedes-benz, get down thereif you can.
Food is cheap.
Beautiful building, sheep,beautiful building.
I've actually seen football.
I saw the Falcons and I've seenMLS.
They got the big MLS squad downthere.

(05:08):
Everybody seems to love.
Yeah, yeah, all good, great job.
Hey man, you know what theclassy way to go about this
would be like?
Hey man, put it, talk to yourpeople and people and, when I
pass, put me up in the ring ofhonor.
Man, I would like that.

(05:28):
That'd be cool To decide you'regoing to go in the ring of
honor and walk down on the fieldand wave to the crowd.
Thank you, almost thank you forallowing me into the ring of
honor.
That you put in and decided isa little hilarious.
So, hey man, we talk about notgiving people their flowers

(05:54):
before they go.
Well, arthur Blake wants totake it.
No chances, my brother, he'sgoing.
Y'all are going to honor me.
He's going to give me hisflowers.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, I'm giving out flowers.
I'm not waiting for nothing.
All right, I want y'all to tellme how great I am.
Thank you so much.
First off, I want to thank theFalcons organization, aka myself
.
I want to thank the Falconsorganization what?
Kind of speech do you giveright?
I remember when I first boughtthis team.
Shout out to you, man.

(06:25):
And listen, though, man.
When you got that kind of money, you do what you want.
Arthur Blank's not worriedabout what we think about it
this morning.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
That's a fact.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
God damn it.
I'm going to the Ring of Honoron a Sunday night and that's
what's going to happen.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Arthur Blank feeling good.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Hey, I'm signing off on the check.
Tell Roger he better be outhere too.
Hey, I'm signing off on thecheck.
Tell Roger he better be outhere too.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Roger, better come out here, whoever else is
available, better come out heretoo.
Yeah, because I pay his checktoo, because we pay his salary.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
I pay all of y'all, so everybody's coming out.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
With the whole organization here.
Hey look, we always talk aboutnot giving folks their flowers.
Well, arthur blake was takingno chances.
He, he went, he went down thestreet to pick up his own
flowers.
So I feel it, uh, I amen.
That's.
That's funny.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
That needed to be talked about nobody loves you
like you love yourself.
So shout out arthur blank manamen.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
look, hey, stop recording athletes out in the
street.
Stop recording celebrities andthen tricking on them.
They can't live their regularlife.
Cj Abrams of the Nationals getscaught, I don't know playing
roulette blackjack valleysdowntown Chicago.
It gets to who it needs to getto and he gets demoted.

(07:41):
Man they sent him down to theminors Ends up costing him like
$ 30K on a game check.
I don't know if they broughthim back up or whatever.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Oh, I did hear about this.
Okay, yeah, he was there untillike 3 in the morning, right,
they said it was 8.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Until 8 in the morning.
They said they had a day game120 at Wrigley.
He was at the casino at 8.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
That's rough.
Now, if I was to know hethought he was Mike.
He thought he was Mike.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah, look.
Hey, andy didn't help, he went0 for 3 in the game, but like 8.
Now look.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Listen, on a road trip.
That's not, that's rough InChicago 8.
He must have been on a roadtrip.
That's not a vegas yeah, that'srough in chicago.
Hey, he must have been on aheater or he was chasing or he
was chasing the epic chase.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Yeah so, cj, but it happens all the time.
Yeah so cj ends getting caught, ends up going up the food chain
.
Lamar Jackson is on a jet Waitreal quick.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Is he a star?
Cj Abrams.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, he's a young dude.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Okay, because most baseball players could be
inconspicuous and be there andyou wouldn't even know.
But is he the type of guy youwould recognize?

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah, young dude, he just made his first all-star
team.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Okay so he's a Okay.
Yeah, it's not like some randomthird baseman, who's just
chilling.
Yeah, okay, not a good idea.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Yeah, exactly so, but it's a problem because I feel
like I don't get the.
I guess people want to reportstuff and have fun with it, I
guess, but I don't get it.
I don't really get it.
And have fun with it, I guess,but I don't get it I don't
really get it.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
And, lamar Jackson, I don't like the recording
culture either.
It's out of control.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah, shit is corny.
And Lamar Jackson.
Marlon Humphries is recordingLamar Jackson on the private
flight back to post-game lastnight after the Cowboys game hey
, lamar, how you feel aboutgetting a win?
Lamar clearly trying to chill.
He not worried about talking toLamar Humphries, but it is what

(09:51):
it is.
So, hey, man, stop recordingfolks if you don't got to man.
You know what I'm saying.
That's it.
That's all.
Let's get to the topic at handbefore we run out of time here.
On no ketchup.
We got to start with theChicago Bears.
That's our squad and it's alsoone of the biggest talking

(10:16):
points in the NFL.
I would say it's importantwhat's going on out there in
Chicago.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
My man said out there in Chicago oh boy, everybody,
everybody hear that Out there inChicago.
My man said out there inChicago, oh boy, everybody,
everybody hear that Out there inChicago, we got a New Yorker on
our hands.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
No, no, no, up there in.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Chicago no no, no.
True National TV guy?
No, no, no, they removed thatChicago flow.
That's Brooklyn flow, rightOver there where y'all are.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
This is a national show oh man, no catch-up
national show.
We talk everything across thecountry.
So yeah, in Chicago, myhometown, you know, they go to
Indianapolis.
Oh, the number going in thereshort underdog plus one and a
half.
A very, very, very winnablegame.

(11:08):
You're not going to seequarterback play from the
opposing team.
That poor.
They lose 21-16.
I'll let you kick it off.
Big Nick to quit.
There's a lot of things goingon here.
Late touchdown makes it closerthan it even looked for the
teaser.
People out there in the street.

(11:29):
Caleb throws for 325 plus, buthe also threw it 50 plus times
52 times last week 43 last week.
I think the rush game islegitimately non-existent.
And, by the way, going into thegame, let me give you some

(11:50):
numbers, big Nick, to quit Goinginto the game.
The Colts 29th in overallexpected points added.
The pass defense was 31st inEPA.
The past defense was 31st inEPA.
29th and third down percentageallowed.
26th in the red zone.
24th in points allowed perdrive.
So the defense is shit, so abad defense that we looked to

(12:14):
have an opportunity to exposeand did the opposite.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
And you add that to a quarterback who at every
opportunity it seemed likewanted to give the game to the
Bears, right, I'm sure AnthonyRichardson is a great guy.
I understand that there aresome physical skills there that
you just can't coach right.
We saw some players, we all sawthe throw in week one, 70 yards
in the air on a rope.
There's a lot of that there andI understand how tantalizing it

(12:41):
could be.
And I understand howtantalizing it could be those
interceptions, those turnovers,the decision-making, the
accuracy, or lack thereof, nonexistent, and those turnovers
are egregious, right.
So far this year we've seenWill Levis and Anthony
Richardson and these have to betwo of the worst turnover
quarterbacks in the NFL.
I know we're going to talk alittle bit about the no-fly zone

(13:02):
for gambling later, but I cantell you that Anthony Richardson
is firmly parked in the NFL.
I know we're going to talk alittle bit about the no-fly zone
for gambling later, but I cantell you that Anthony Richardson
is firmly parked in the no-flyzone for me after yesterday's
performance, right.
So, with all that being said,100% agree, 100% winnable game
and the Bears at no point intime.
And again, yeah, the late scoremakes it deceiving.
The Bears did not score untilthe field goal in the third
quarter.
Offense was non-existent Sameproblems that we've seen over

(13:25):
the last couple of weeks.
We can talk about the offensiveline, we can talk about the
play calling.
I know we'll get to that fourthdown call, but even beyond that
fourth down call, still plentyof situations where it's second
and five or six and we'relooking for 30.
It's third and four, we'relooking for 30.
We're running empty backfields.
We're not doing anything thateven involves max protection.
It's still teams beating usfour on five, mind you, four on

(13:49):
five.
So understand what happens whena team is rushing four, that is
seven guys left to stop thepotential pass play.
So Caleb is seeing nothing butguys in his face and then, when
he looks forward, a ton oftraffic right Dropping seven,
not allowing them to do anything.
He's still trying to make playsthat aren't there.
It was all messy man, itcouldn't get any worse.

(14:11):
And again you're wastinganother great defensive effort.
If we want to be completelyhonest, this defense is lights
out right.
There are some opportunities inthis defense, in particular
with the pass rush.
But absent of a pass rush, thisdefense is still playing
excellent and you're wasting itand they kept you in that game
and you couldn't do anythingabout it.
So again, I know I'm kind ofgetting ahead of myself here,

(14:32):
but that's just.
That's just how I'm feeling,man.
I mean this is.
It's ridiculous, man.
We've been talking about it onthis show for years.
I've been saying it for yearsyou build from the trenches, and
those are two areas where thebears are completely missing
right, your offensive line anddefensive line.
You're not getting anything.
Um, so while it's nice to haveall these shiny toys you know dj
moore, keenan allen, and whenhe plays roma dunze, if you

(14:55):
can't block anybody, it doesn'tmatter deandre swift carries
nine of them up the middle.
I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Yeah, in postgame they asked him.
They said where's yourfrustration level?
He said it's high, because Ithink we're all.
Deandre Swift said that.
They asked him where's yourfrustration level with the run
game?
He said high.
And we're also getting to thepoint where it's like DeAndre
Swift is garbage and it's likeno, I don't think that's true
either.
It's not what I think there'sabsolutely nowhere to go.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
What they're doing and you're playing them out of
position.
It's like putting a slotreceiver at tight end.
It's not what I do.
I am an explosive guy.
You need to get me out in space.
I need to get the ball in space.
I thought he was.
We talked about this in thegroup chat.
I thought he was fine in thepassing game.
That's the type of back he is.
He is not Derrick Henry.
You can't run him out of asingle backfield, send him up

(15:51):
the two hole and be like yeah, man, make it happen.
That's not what he does.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
I tweeted out they're running DeAndre Swift up the
middle like he's Earl Campbell.
Yeah, it's not what he does, and I was under the impression
when he came to town.
Okay, we got the big boy backin Juice Herbert.
We got the because, if youremember, it was bruiser on
bruiser.

(16:15):
It was David Montgomery.
And then we had another bruiserin Khalil Herbert.
It was two bruisers.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
I love it.
Hey talking my language.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
So then I'm like, okay, we're going to go get a
guy that can make stuff happenin space, and then we have a
bruiser that can similar towhat's going on in Detroit.
We got Gibbs who can makethings happen in space, and then
when it's time to pick up threeor four, we give it to
Montgomery.
We'd give it to Herbert.
Roshon.
Johnson looked a little betteryesterday as well, but that was

(16:45):
what I thought.
Three weeks in a row we've comeout and been trying to pound
the pound the rock up the middle, with no push, no offensive
line strategy, no zone reads.
It's just isos up the middlewith deandre swift and he's
getting cracked.
Let's get to the real elephantin the room.

(17:11):
Caleb Williams has shown tons offlashes of like.
I see it, it's there.
Let's just get the guyopportunity to where he can show
this as much as possible.
I've seen the spin out of thepocket, rolling left, throw back
right on the money for 12 yards.
He did that yesterday.
I've seen the deep ballcompletion.

(17:35):
I've seen him miss a coupledeep balls as well, but I see
the vision.
I never really saw the Trubiskyvision of him being a great
quarterback.
I saw the vision with JustinFields of being a great
quarterback, but the staff andwhat was going on behind the

(17:58):
scenes just was never conduciveto making him into a great
player, and he wasn't ascomplete a quarterback, as I
think that Caleb probably is atthis point, even though we
haven't got a chance to see it.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Yeah, correct.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
I see the flashes with Caleb Williams.
Let's talk about some of thesedecisions.
There is never a time in theNFL you should be calling a

(18:31):
timeout after a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yeah, I've never seen it, Nick Nick.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
I called you right after that.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
I've never seen it.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Nick, I actually sat down and was trying to figure
out a situation where it wouldbe like, oh, maybe you score a
touchdown at the end of the gameand you need a two-point
conversion.
You're going for a two-pointconversion to win and you come
out and you don't like the lookTime out.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Yeah, absolutely, but the clock is not running, so
there's no reason.
Even in a fourth quarter, withone second left, you don't do it
because the clock is not right.
It's a non-clocked play.
I.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
It's unbelievable the fact that no one seemed to know
that they were going for two.
After a score.
There is purely coaching Wrongteam running out on the field.
Purely coaching, nick, you knowwhat it might be.

(19:29):
We're not even expecting thescore.
We're so worried about tryingto score.
We're not thinking about whathappens after that.
Yep, it's like man, let's justhope we can score this
motherfucker.
Yeah, if we score, oh damn, weactually did score.
Let's try to figure oh, we gotto go for two timeout.

(19:50):
Well, what are we doing so thatall falls at on Matt Eberflus
and the coaching staff?

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Without a doubt, and you can even take it back to
going into half.
If you remember going into half.
The bears got very lucky thatthey got that once.
I mean they didn't makeanything out of it, but they got
that one second left to runthat hail mary at the end of the
half, because the play beforethat, linemen are walking up to
the ball.
This, this, is situationalfootball.

(20:18):
What happens in that situation?
You get to the line ofscrimmage as fast as possible
and you clock the ball right.
You spike the ball to stop theclock.
Caleb is trying to get guys togo.
Linemen are literally walkingto the line.
That is unprepared.
That falls on head coaching.
So, yeah, you take it to thattouchdown.
I I to your point.

(20:38):
I can't think of any time whereI called you right away.
I said did he just call atimeout after a touchdown
because you had the wrong guyson the field?
Like, what are you doing outthere?
Are you too busy watching theCaleb Williams and Roman Dunze?
Let me hide the ball from you.
Celebration to not understandthat.
You are in the midst ofsituational football right now.

(20:59):
You need to have that playready.
That play should be worked onthroughout the week.
Hey, if we find ourselves thegood teams, they work on all
that shit throughout the week sothat when it happens in a game,
everybody knows what to do.
You practice that stuff.
You practice two-minute drills, you practice situational
football.
If you are a good football team, it was clear they didn't.

(21:19):
There shouldn't even have beena thought.
If I'm Santos, I'm sitting onthe bench still after that
touchdown.
I'm not even thinking aboutgetting up, I'm not even
grabbing my helmet because wepracticed this.
He continually fails insituational football things.
He continually fails in gamemanagement.
Right, we talk about last weekwith the dumb challenges, those

(21:40):
cost timeouts.
You talk about this weekburning that timeout.
Then they burned anothertimeout later in the fourth
quarter.
So you're left in the game withone timeout left and you're
trying to drive down the field.
These are the things that, unless even if you are a coach
who's out there calling theplays which he's not you have to
be rock solid on this.

(22:01):
We're going to talk about theSteelers and Mike Tomlin later.
We know Mike Tomlin doesn'tknow where the playbook is.
It has no input.
It doesn't call the plays.
That's not what he's here for.
He is managing the game, managing the week and managing
the situations, so you don't seestuff like that.
My job is to manage the game.

(22:21):
Ibrabraflus is not doing thatright.
So many different decisions,man.
We can go throughout the entireyear.
They're lucky they won thatfirst game, had it not been for
Will Levis again one of the mostegregious turnovers we may ever
see.
When they're up in a game anddriving down the field about to
score a field goal, the Bearsare 0-3, with no hope,

(22:43):
absolutely zero hope.
So yeah, man, this is.
It falls on Ibraflues, it fallson the organization for again,
not understanding where theywere with the offensive line and
defensive line.
And again, I love toys, man.
I love receivers, I love gadgetrunning backs, but I know that,
no matter what, give meady, give me my homes, give me joe

(23:07):
montana, give me johnny unitas.
I have never seen a quarterbackthrow from their back, never
seen it.
I don't care who it is.
So you talk about caleb and allthese flashes that he has.
They're absolutely there, buthe has no time to do anything,
he's just playing in hero mode.
This is how quarterbacksdevelop bad habits.
I was watching Kyler Murrayyesterday.

(23:27):
Kyler Murray's a lot of fun towatch.
Man Highlight plays all that, but all that losing that he did
early in his career.
He has some terrible habits.
He's just out there throwingthe ball.
If you watch some of thatCardinals game yesterday, he's
just out there launching theball.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Bad habits.
This game yesterday he's justout there launching the ball and
sometimes you have a game likelast week, where you're perfect
and you throw four touchdowns.
Then the next week it's not astuned.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
You can't play ball like that.
Week to week in the NFL, weekto week in the NFL you can't.
So that's where we're at withCaleb man.
The offensive line is atrociousLike atrocious.
The Bears have had some linesbefore where I'm like man.
This is bad.
This is one of the worst.
These guys can't block anybody.
I mean, they honestly cannotblock anybody.
He has no time to do anythingand I know again we'll get to

(24:17):
that fourth down call.
But even before that, watchthat whole drive.
Do you remember the second down?
He Watch that whole drive.
Do you remember the second down?
He had DeAndre Carter trying tochip a defensive end.
Deandre Carter is your sixthreceiver and a special teams guy
and you have him trying to chipKyle Van Noy and after the play

(24:37):
, carter looks at the sidelineslike what are you doing?
This is not what I do?

Speaker 2 (24:44):
What are we doing here?

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Why is he in there?
In that situation, whatpersonnel package at the goal
line says let's put DeAndreCarter on the edge to block a
pass rusher?

Speaker 2 (24:56):
That's three times his size.
Yeah, it's just not the design.
It has no business being thereAlso another no business.
This is two straight weeks alsoof Cole Komet getting
absolutely beat like a drum bypass rushers that he can't
handle.
He's not a blocking tight end.
This is not George Kittle.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
And that's okay.
Yeah, this is a Gronkowski.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Right.
So he's great in the pass game, but this is multiple weeks in a
row now where he's gettingsmoked on blocking assignments.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
And why is Mercedes Lewis on the roster if you don't
use him in that situation?

Speaker 2 (25:27):
And speaking of Mercedes Lewis shop man, salute
to my brother man, 40 years old, still in the league.
He needs no snaps.
Let him chat with whoever andbring the morale.
That's two snaps, two falsestarts, two weeks in a row.
That's bad.
He doesn't need to be on thefield, bro.
From what I could tell, we haveother people.

(25:51):
We got Gerald Everett, we haveCole Kermit.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
He doesn't need to be on the pitch at all, Just sign
a blocking tight end, rightCorrect, and people are like, oh
, you might be telegraphing whenyou bring it, it doesn't matter
, hey, it doesn't matter.
I watched Baltimore yesterdayin the first half telegraph all
day with Derrick.
If Derrick Henry's in the game,he's getting the ball.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Yeah that's correct If.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Justice.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Hill is in the game.
They're throwing a rock.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
Stop it.
You don't have to do all thisfancy shit Again.
The fourth down play we'll getto it, but you don't have to do
all that.
You don't have to wildcat withJuice Herbert, line up in the I
formation, hand the ball andfucking play one-on-one football
and try to win.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Okay, well, let me stop you there, because it's
tough, because it's clear theycan't win up front, right?
So maybe that's why Waldron isrunning shit like wildcat and
doing all that.
I will say this, the and doingall that.
I will say this the first timewe see Juice, herbert can't be
the Wildcat.
The Wildcat, all right, becauseis that 24 back?
Oh, he's running this bitch upthe middle.

(26:53):
It's the first time we had sawJuice all game from our
recollection.
So those are the type of thingsNow.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
And I know he doesn't play because pass blocking is a
major issue for him, right, heis a terrible, terrible.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
I actually don't, I actually no one else but.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
But I don't, but no one else can block.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
So why it's not like we got ringers back there, not
like Roshan Johnson is a ringerin the pass block game, like
juice deserves probably somemore time than he's getting.
And we just talked about thatoff the top, talking about going
up the middle.
But, but we could talk aboutthis all day long.
Let's get to that fourth downspeed option.
You got the picture?
No, I can put it in.

(27:32):
I'll put the picture up theentire offensive line on the
ground.
I've never seen it, and lastweek the Colts were the, the um.
Who'd the Colts play last week?
Green Bay.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
They were.
They were running speed option.
Green Bay was and it wasworking and they ran it a few
times.
I didn't.
I didn't see this.
I was just reading about andhearing about why potentially
they would have run a speedoption on fourth down.
And then Caleb talked about itin the postgame presser.
He said, yeah, we thought wehad an advantage from the film

(28:14):
that we watched from last week, but they didn't react to it the
same way this week.
Right before that speed option,I had talked about getting
Caleb's legs involved more.
I wasn't talking about runningthe speed option, not on fourth
down.
Nick the Quick, talk to meabout your thoughts on that

(28:34):
fourth down.
And it makes it so much worsebecause the first, second and
third down play were allhorrific and then we capped it
with a speed option.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Yeah, so I mean, look , you already brought up Cole
Komet.
I don't know why he doesn't seethe ball in that situation.
From what I remember last year, cole Komet was great in the red
zone for Justin Fields lastyear, right, especially in the
back half of the season, caughtquite a few touchdowns back
there.
I mean, if you want to getcreative, that's fine, right, I
think the Chiefs got a lot ofpeople fooled, like the fun time

(29:05):
situation when they get in thered zone and you start doing
crazy shit.
You are not that.
If your line can't block, whyare you asking all of them to
pull and run a speed option?
They're not getting any push, they're not stopping anybody.
So you want a play that takes alittle bit longer to develop
and essentially gives all theseguys a free run at your, at your

(29:27):
running back, and yourquarterback, caleb, could have
kept it.
Same result you pitch it backto Swift.
You lose 10 yards on the fourthout, fourth and goal line play.
That, that that's a first.
You lose 10 yards on a fourthand goal play, right.
So from a play call inperspective, yeah, I mean the
whole, the whole drive wasegregious, that whole situation

(29:49):
down.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
There was egregious, here it is.
That's how you end it.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Yeah, is this a picture?

Speaker 2 (29:57):
First of all, if you go all the way back, I don't
even think we got that fourthand one with Roshon Johnson.
I think we were short and wegot gifted the next set of downs
, yeah, then we come out and werun wildcatcher khalil herbert
up the middle.
Second and goal khalil herbertup the middle for one yard
carter one yep, yep, third andgoal up the middle.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Khalil herbert fourth , and goal speed option speed
option like it's 1995 tommFrazier in Nebraska.
Eric Crouch Eric Crouch, Idon't know who you think you got
back there.
Major Applewhite, I don't knowwho you think you got back there
.
It was ridiculous man.
And it's almost this guy.
It's ridiculous man.

(30:41):
There's no way.
I don't care what you saw onfilm last week.
You got to know where you areas a football team.
This is not the play you callthere.
You are not that.
You need to get some blockingto do that.
You need to have competentoffensive linemen.
As a coach, you have tounderstand your strengths and
weaknesses.

(31:01):
When you're down there, run thelittle, play action, roll out,
hit, commit in the flat.
You're good to go.
It's butter.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
That's it Also.
Look, I know what the analyticssay.
It's a go for it.
I get that.
But when you know offensivelybecause overall it was a good
drive to get down there, andoffensively you know you're not
getting any push up front, thedrives before that missed field

(31:30):
goal to open the game, punt, punt, interception, then you
finally get down there.
If you don't feel confident, very confident, in a play, take
the three.
I'm not mad at taking the threein that spot, just get some
because it's a backbreakermomentum wise and mentally wise.
When you have a solid drive andthen you get stuffed four

(31:53):
straight times on the goal line,it's early enough in the game
where I'm not mad.
If you take three points there, well, I hate all four.
I don't hate all four calls, but to run three runs up the
middle in a row when we haven'tbeen getting push the first
three weeks and then run a speedoption, that's just.
I I can't stand the speedoption.
Call so all caleb and throw itto cole.

(32:15):
There at some point needs to besome type of rollout situation
with caleb because he can usehis legs.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
He's showing so that was what I was getting is a
great receiving tight end in thered zone.
Also, let's talk about losing10 yards there and what else
that does.
When you turn the ball overright.
It's a difference betweengiving them the ball on the goal
line in their own end zone, where you can potentially get in
safety, or giving them daylightand room to breathe.
So losing all those yards onthat play, it helps them out

(32:48):
again because it puts them in asituation where richardson's
coming out there and he's not upagainst the goal line.
That's the type of guy you wantup against the goal line
because he's going to give youone and you're going to take it
back to the house.
So not only do you call thewrong play that doesn't get you
six, you call a play that givesthem back 10 yards and gives
them better field position.
That's why you can't call thatplay, because it not working
isn't just losing points, you'rere get, you're giving them back

(33:11):
field position because that's aplay that, if it doesn't work,
you lose yards, that doesn't getstuffed at the line of
scrimmage.
And then again, when it makesit worse and we'll put the
picture up with the uh, with the, with the video of this that
every single lineman is on theirass.
Linemen are supposed to beputting people on their ass.
They're supposed to becollecting pancakes, not ending

(33:32):
a play on the ground, and that'ssymbolic of this whole year.
If you watch a lot of Bearsplayers we have a lot of Bears
players our linemen end up onthe ground.
It's a problem.
Listen, man, I will talk aboutthis forever.
If you cannot protect yourquarterback, you cannot win in
this league.
New england won six super bowlsby making sure that brady was
upright and if you gave up asack, you didn't see the next

(33:54):
sunday yeah, you gotta, theygotta, figure that out, man, you
have to figure it out you can'tdo anything.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
The entire podcast could just be talking about the
offensive line and the offensiveline play you can't do.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
I think if you were to ask most court, all
quarterbacks, nfl, hey, would Irather have the fancy receiver
or a fucking dependable lefttackle.
They're all gonna take a.
I'll figure it out, I'll getthe ball to somebody.
I just can't be on my ass.
Nothing has time to develop forthe bears.
I mean, guys are back thereright away.
There's no initial push.
You're not getting beat on swimmoves and stunts and all this.

(34:27):
They're beating you straight up.
We're beating you at the pointof attack.
Watch some of that.
How many times are Bears playersmoving backwards on pass blocks
?
How many times are they movingbackwards on run blocks where
you're supposed to be runningforward?
You can't pass block.
You can't run block.
Usually you can do one of thetwo.
They can't pass block or runblock.

(34:49):
And like I want to get on pollsas far as like hey, you know
from a, but hey darn no right tofirst round pick.
So you have, tevin jenkins is asecond round pick.
You're failing on these guysright now.
So listen man, that's theproblem and that won't fix
itself.
You can't.
You can't scheme around badline play.

(35:10):
You can't do it.
You really can't.
That's a problem.
That's a problem for the nextfour, 15 weeks.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
I don't know how you fix that yeah, a couple of bad
picks, a couple of bad picksfrom caleb whatever as well, but
this isn't about that.
I agree.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
He's running for his life.
Man, you're going to throw badpicks.
Anybody will.
If quarterbacks are underpressure all the time, things
are moving.
It's already moving fast forthem.
This is the NFL.
This is his third game.
Things are already moving fast,right.
As an offensive coordinator, asa coaching staff, you need to
slow it down for your rookiequarterback.
You need to give them thingsthey can handle.

(35:49):
You need to get them into arhythm.
That's why you see a lot ofteams come out.
A couple short passes get youinto the rhythm.
We're not necessarily asfocused on scoring a touchdown
in the first and second drivesas we are starting to establish
some type of identity with ourquarterback and up front.
You can't do that because onthe first play of the game he's
running for his life.
Second play of the game he'srunning for his life.
Third play of the game he'srunning for his life.

(36:11):
And by the second quarter he'sjust playing hero ball.
He starts to anticipate therush.
You know it's coming.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
So even when you have a clean, pocket.
you still feel pressure, Not toomany guys can overcome that,
and that's a perfect segue intoMatt LaFleur around the shield,
the NFL and talking about MalikWillis and the greenback Packers
.
Because Malik Willis can't holdCaleb Williams, Doc strap can't

(36:47):
tie his Nikes up and MattLaFleur has Malik Willis playing
ball.
It's just two straight weeksnow.
Malik Willis has lookedserviceable.
A guy that we thought had nobusiness even being in the NFL
has looked serviceable.
He opened the game on the roadin Tennessee.
Two 30-yard completions, acouple runs and they scored.

(37:12):
They went up 7-0 in two minutesand 10 seconds, or something
like that.
First couple minutes of thegame it was 7-0.
And I'm watching closelybecause I got money on the
Titans, which is unbelievable.
We'll get to that.
Matt LaFleur.
What have we always said?
Nick, the most important peopleon your football team are your

(37:37):
quarterback, your left tackleand an edge, and then, as the
years have gone on, it's like Ithink the offensive coordinator
is number the second mostimportant.
I'm starting to think nick, theoffensive mind in the building
is the most important guy on thefield.

(37:59):
I'm waiting for some of theseoffensive coordinators to start
asking for head coaching dollars.
You know what?
Keep that fucking head coachingtitle.
I don't even want that Justgive me this.
Just give me this $6 million,$6.5 million, $7.5 million per.
You can keep the HC title.
And let me focus on the office, because it is that important.

(38:20):
Let me focus on developingthese quarterbacks, because if
you look around the league, these quarterbacks Because if
you look around the league, mattLaFleur seems to have is one of
those ones, one of those guystop three, top four coach in the
NFL offensively can scheme youinto Ws.

(38:41):
He's done it two weeks in a row.
Okay, we got to run the ball 60times.
No problem, we'll do that.
Here you go, we get it done.
We get the win Next week.
They think we're going to runit a bunch because we just did
that last week.
But I'm going to come out onthe first two drives and throw
it down the field and have Malikhave easy throws for two plus

(39:04):
30-yard completions.
No problem, I'm going to schemethat up, I'm going to put that
into the script.
On the first drive, sam Darnoldhas the Vikings being talked
about as if they're the bestteam in the NFL.
We will find out if that's true, but they just dusted off the

(39:25):
Texans.
Yeah, completely dusted themoff.
And that's coming off of a winagainst the san francisco 49ers
who are sure a little banged up.
We'll get to them as wellcoming into the league coming
into the year.
We talked about the niners notbeing as deep.
They have mcafree, debo, kittle, brandon iu ju Juwan Jennings

(39:50):
now is one of those ones as well.
But if one of those guys goesdown, they I don't know.
I didn't know the backup toMcCaffrey till week one.
I don't know the rest of theguys in that room offensively,
so they were very top heavy intheir room.
They're now dealing with thatnow.
But Kevin O'Connell has SamDarnold looking like a guy and I

(40:16):
sent this through the groupchat.
I saw a tweet.
I did not realize this.
Sam Darnold is younger than JoeBurrow.
Let me repeat that is youngerthan Joe Burrow.
Let me repeat that Sam Darnold,New York Jets.
Sam Darnold, carolina Panthers.
Sam Darnold, san Francisco49ers.

(40:38):
Sam Darnold, minnesota Vikings.
Quarterback.
Sam Darnold is younger than JoeBurrow.
Go look it up if you don'tbelieve me.
It's months.
But yes, he's younger than JoeBurrow.
I couldn't believe that when Isaw it.

(40:58):
Kevin O'Connell has that manballing.
We know what Andy Reid does forPatrick Mahomes.
This is about scheme.
The NFL is about scheme and ifyou can't coach up your guys,

(41:21):
doesn't matter how talented theyare, they're going to fail,
period point blank.
You have to be the onepercenters to overcome that type
of just play-to-play game,week-to-week game plans that are
not conducive to your talentsand working around what you can

(41:41):
do on the field.
So, nick, I'm starting to feelthat the number one most
important people in the buildingis the offensive mind the
quarterback, then the lefttackle, then the edge, then the
head coach.
It's starting to get there, because what I'm seeing

(42:03):
offensively out of some of theseguys that we were essentially
writing off for dust If you lookwho's holding the clipboard
it's some special offensive guys.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
Yeah, I don't disagree with you.
I still think that, no matterhow well you can coach, if the
line's collapsing on you leftand right, it doesn't really
matter.
Yeah, you might be able to findsome schematical scheme
advantages to that, but yeah, Iunderstand where you're going
ultimately, um, yes, for sureyou know you're also the guy
you're determining if the peopleup front are good enough yeah,

(42:40):
well, 100.
Right, we talk about shanahan.
Shanahan has trent williams.
Uh, that makes things a loteasier for you.
But, yeah, absolutely.
I'm not even trying, I don'twant to make it sound like I'm
disagreeing.
I a thousand percent agree withyou.
You need to have a competentplay caller who understands the
strengths and weaknesses oftheir team and draws up a game
plan around it, right?
So you talk about Andy Reed, you talk about Shanahan.

(43:02):
Even going back to MikeShanahan, there's a reason why
they can plug and play runningbacks.
They understand how to getthese guys in space and to take
advantage of what they're goodat.
A hundred percent, man, I don'tdisagree.
And when you see the opposite ofit that's what you see in the
Bears, right, what unlockedLamar?
Right, bringing in Munkin andhaving him run an offense that's

(43:24):
suitable to Lamar because whatthey were doing before didn't
work.
If you look at the Bills in theback half of the year, right
when they moved on from KenDorsey and brought in Joe Brady,
it completely changedeverything.
Right, even when you have aJosh because we remember at them
you have a Josh Allen and I getwe've talked about this before
it's tempting to throw the ball50 times.
When you have a Josh Allen, joeBrady goes in there and says,
hey, we have to run the ball.

(43:45):
Right, we have to be able toestablish the run.
That is important to us.
We can't have Josh do anythingif we can't establish the run.
So, understanding that, beingin your quarterback's ear,
having that relationship withthem we watch hard knocks I
didn't see Shane Waldron sayanything right and the
conversations with Eberflues and, uh and um, caleb Williams,

(44:06):
extremely awkward, extremelyawkward.
Right, he has no pulse on what'sgoing on there.
So I hate to keep bringing itback to the Bears, but, yeah,
it's right there.
The recipe, the formula, allthat is right there for you and
too many teams don't payattention to it and that's how
you ruin young quarterbacks.
So, yeah, lefleur, understanding last week, hey, a

(44:28):
malik willis, he wasn'texpecting to play this week.
Um, we got to run a game plan.
That's gonna get himcomfortable.
They threw the ball 17 timeslast week.
This week throws it a littlebit more allows malik to take a
couple more shots that he didn'tallow him to take last week,
but they still ran the ball 37times for 188 yards.
That is commitment, right, thatmakes it so easy for malik,

(44:50):
because when he drops backs andlooks out there, defenses have
to respect their ability to run,so he's seeing a little bit of
a cleaner pocket it all startsseeing less defensive backs out
there and that's where it goesfrom.
Yeah, establish the run and thefloor understands that.
That's a commitment again, teams that the past has become
so prevalent in the nfl thatthere's a huge opportunity to

(45:10):
take advantage of running thefootball.
Look at what baltimore did todallas yesterday.
Look what everybody's done todallas this year.
Yeah, they stop the run youcan't stop.
The they're at dallas is givingup five and a half yards per
carry.
That's epic all right, so runthe ball, understanding that I
don't care if I have PatrickMahomes, larry Fitzgerald and

(45:32):
fucking Jerry Rice.
If you're giving up five and ahalf yards a carry, I am going
to run the ball on you everysingle time until you can stop.
Talk about the Bears Teams.
Know that you don't need torush.
You don't need to send anyblitzes, rush four, Beat them
one-on-one.
It's pretty straightforwardhere.

Speaker 2 (45:53):
I got a hot take for you A couple weeks down the road
, maybe four or five weeks fromnow.
Cowboys are two and five.
Yeah, Something of this sort,Without a doubt.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
Three and six.
They can't stop.
That's bad run defense.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
Micah Parsons will not be participating in weekly
games.
I don't know if Dak can do thatnow that he's got paid.
Of course he has to play.
He has to.
The big fella doesn't have adeal yet and you can see they've
been talking to him after games.
He is beyond frustrated.
They showed him on the sideline.
He's beyond frustrated.
He doesn't get to play hisnatural position because they

(46:35):
try to move him around all overthe place to make something
happen.
He can't, Can't do anything.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
Whenever they feel that a play needs to be made,
they put him there.
They put him there.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
He's just like a plug-and-play Phil dude.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
Go play middle linebacker Instead of like the
Bosa brothers just continue tocome off the edge, those dudes
almost like Nick almost justkicks it until third down he's
like, oh, it's third down.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
Yeah, okay, okay, we're going to get to it.
Let's get to it then.
So that is extremelyunfortunate for him and what
they got him doing.
I'd be very interested to seehow his motivation looks, how
his attitude looks comes in themiddle of the season when he
doesn't have a deal.
The team is clearly goingnowhere and I just can't see him

(47:26):
bringing it and risking gettinginjured.
I would be shocked if MicahParsons played more than 12 or
13 games this year.
Any, nick, he should sit andmost likely will sit.
Stay tuned on that.
We talked about Sam Darnold.
We talked about Coach of theYear, potentially to kick off

(47:48):
the season, and Matt LaFleurNick, wrote in the rundown, put
a fork in him Dallas Cowboys, miami Dolphins, cleveland Browns
, russell Wilson, which willlead us into the Justin Fields
talk.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
Yeah, I'm putting a fork in the Dolphins for the
year.
I think Tua's obviously goingto miss what three more games.
It's going to be tough for themto come back.
Cowboys we just talked about Ifyou can't stop the run, forget
about it, especially with Saquonin the division.
Now right, with the Browns, division's just going to be
tough, man.

(48:22):
You know Cincinnati's going tobounce back.
We could talk about theSteelers at 3-0.
Right now they seem to havefound the winning formula.
And Russell Wilson hey man,it's a great career, made a lot
of money, phenomenal career.
It's a great career, made a lotof money, phenomenal career.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
It's probably done.
Super Bowl champ.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
We'll never see the field again.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
He should and if he wants, he could be a backup in
the league for the next fiveseasons, easily, yep.
So it is what it is I got topull up.
It is what it is I got to pullup.
Deshaun Watson had eight sacksagainst the New York Giants, who

(49:08):
are I wouldn't say they'rethreatening in the least.
They're not a threatening ballclub, we'll put it like that.
And Stefanski is a guy.
Offensively, that is one ofthose guys.
Yeah, we've seen thatthroughout the years.

Speaker 1 (49:23):
So, but he can't do it with watson yeah, a lot of
questions bad situation, man, overall it's just tough division
to not be able to figure it outin.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
Yeah and we talked about it before, when you're off
the field, shit is noisy.
Yep, very difficult to be quieton the field.
It gets noisy on the field aswell.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
But let's talk about justin fields yeah, guys, that's
what I was gonna say.
I know, I know we're short ontime, but I want to make sure
that we do give Justin Fieldsand talk about giving flowers.
Listen, man, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
I'll let you set it up.
No, go ahead, there's nothingto set up.
He went into the season whereTomlin refused to name the
starting quarterback.
It was pretty known throughoutthe league that Russell Wilson
was going to get the nod, forwhatever reason.
I'm not sure, because goinginto the year it's very it was

(50:20):
very obvious that Russell Wilsonwas an insurance policy.
They're paying him a millionand a half dollars.
We already know what RussellWilson is as a quarterback and
he's on a one year.
It was clear to me that we needto figure out as a Steelers
organization Is Justin Fieldsour guy Because he's going to be

(50:41):
up for a deal?
He's going to want a new dealif he is the guy.
So we need to find out.
If he's the guy, let's play him, see if we got a guy that we
think we can build around andthen go from there.
Is the second chapter actuallythe one that unlocks the the
future longevity of him having afull-time nfl quarterback
career?
He wasn't getting theopportunity at first.

(51:02):
Russell wilson pulls a hammy.
Whatever happened.
Something was fishy around that, by the way.
Tomlin didn't.
Tomlin didn't wasn't buying it.
Tomlin didn't see too pleasedwith Russell Wilson when they
asked him about him after weekone.
But now he said well, worryabout the guys who are here Like
yeah, he just gave it to Tomlin.
Yeah, he, yes, he gave him.

(51:23):
He was very edgy about that.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
Justin Fields now comes in, though, they're 3-0, a
team that you know didn't havea lot of expectations.
The division we know is one ofthe best in in football, or is
it?
Well, we don't?
I don't know.
We talked about the, the NFCNorth, being one of the best,
and that's looking like it'scoming to fruition, um, with the
Bears even being really bad.

(51:47):
So question marks there, buttheir 3-0 Justin Fields looked
sensational yesterday.
He he's playing within himself,he's using his legs.
He's not only using his legs,he's using them when he needs to
.
He's making plays, ball'smoving.
They're scoring.
That's it.
They're winning.

Speaker 1 (52:06):
Defense is phenomenal .

Speaker 2 (52:08):
The defense is lights out.
We talked about the first twoweeks of them benefiting from a
plus five on the turnoverdifferential, but they got guys
over there defensively.
And when we talk about PatrickQueen, he's unbelievable.
What a signing.
Cam Hayward he's a problem.

(52:30):
Joey Porter Jr is a problem, playing corner he's awesome.
Minka is the man.
Bama guy we know how he getsdown.
They got guys man and this guyTJ.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
Watt bro, the best non-quarterback in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (52:50):
I don't know where he gets this motor, bro, he's
awesome.
Every play he is onmotherfuckers ass, bro, and it's
always in the fourth quarterwhen it matters.
Yeah it's like he's a closer,he's a defensive, closer he's.
He's a closer mariano rivera.

Speaker 1 (53:08):
Yeah, he is mariano.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
Yes, it is clear towards the end of the game, he
flat out has more juice than you.
Yeah, yeah, you are on empty.
I am not.
That's what it looks like whenTJ Watt lines up in the fourth
quarter, every single game foryears on end.
Now I have more juice than youat the end of the game Period,

(53:31):
taking your guy down, yep.
My motor is better than yours.
I want it more in the fourthBecause the amount of close
games the Pittsburgh Steelershave played the last four
seasons Every week Every week Ican't remember the last time
they don't blow anybody out.

Speaker 1 (53:50):
They were losing for most of this game.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
The Steelers winning by 10 points this week.
This week is a blowout for them.
A blowout for them.
That was a blowout.
Tj Watt is unbelievable, soshout out TJ.
Number 90 is different.
And they asked Tomlin afteryeah, go ahead To get back to
Justin.
He's playing ball.
Go ahead, nick.

Speaker 1 (54:09):
He's playing ball and they asked.
Tomlin is always noncommittal.
They're like you know.
They ask him something aboutJustin being the starter going
forward.
Tomlin said it very simply he'sdoing what we ask him to do and
playing winning football.
It's that simple.
Go out there and win.
That's what I guarantee In thatlocker room every single day.
I guarantee you that dude.
Go out there and just win.

(54:30):
I don't care if it's pretty, Idon't care if it makes the
highlight reel.
I watched that game yesterday.
You can watch the Steelers gameand fall asleep Like there's
nothing going on there.
That's too crazy or spectacular, but they just end up winning.
Like I said, they were down10-7 for most of that game.
Justin makes a couple plays, puts the ball where it needs to
be, the defense holds firm.

(54:50):
Mike Tomlin doesn't makecoaching mistakes.
He doesn't do things that loseyou the game.
And now, with Fields, you addin that extra level.
This guy can pick us up firstdowns when we need it.
This guy can run in fortouchdowns and we're building
his confidence, like you couldsee Justin Postgame.
They asked him, he goes.
I'm not overthinking things,I'm not overprocessing.
I'm just going out there andplay.

(55:11):
I guarantee you Mike is like, hey, man, just fucking go out
there and play.
I don't know.
I had Kenny Pickett last year.
I had Mason Rudolph last year.
You're fine, trust me, we'llput you in a position Right.
I've been winning with guys Ihad Ben Roethlisberger was dead
the past five seasons inPittsburgh and they were still
winning games.
It's not an accident that youdon't have losing seasons over

(55:31):
there, like there, like it's.
It's just not.
We have seen great teams havelosing seasons.
They don't do it.
That that's.
That's huge for justin.
I love that he's takingadvantage of the opportunity.
Um, obviously I got a soft spotfor justin from his time in
chicago and just the whole thing.
We did him dirty.
I'm happy that he lands in acompetent organization with a
competent head coach, right, anorganization that does things

(55:54):
right way and look, he keepsthis.
Justin's going to be a rich manthis summer, mike can win with
that.
Mike can win with that.

Speaker 2 (56:02):
Yeah, I mean, look, they're still not throwing the
ball downfield a ton, it's stillclose to the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
He still doesn't throw it over the middle.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
Yeah, he throw it over the middle a little bit.

Speaker 1 (56:11):
I guess that touchdown was to the middle.
Yeah, that touchdown was to themiddle.

Speaker 2 (56:15):
Well, and that big play across the middle.
Yeah yeah, the touchdown wasacross the middle.
I mean, it was a lot of yak.
He was throwing dimes.
But yeah he threaded that Fourcompletions over 10 yards, one
over 20 to the sideline and yeah, I mean he only had six carries
.
They got our guy, mr Get aTouch.

(56:35):
Cordell Patterson is over there.
They got some guys over there.

Speaker 1 (56:41):
Mr, get a Touch Shout out Cordell.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
Patterson the standard is the standard baby.
So yeah, man, shout out JustinFields and him doing his thing
Before we get out of here.
Big Nick to quick.
Oh man, you got some explainingto do.
Yeah, man, look, I made bignick to quick.

Speaker 1 (56:58):
oh man, you got some explaining to do yeah, man, look
, I made a mistake.
Tell us what you did.
Tell us what you did yesterday, man I.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
I was on the verge of having a huge day yesterday and
I I fell into the, theanalytics, everything, and going
into the game, tennessee seemedlike the side, numbers-wise,
run, defense-wise, overallD-wise.
They had been playing verysolid and Levitz was just

(57:27):
turning the ball over at analarming rate and they couldn't
respond.
I talked about it.
Malik Willis went down andscored on the opening drive.
The script was perfect for MattLaFleur 30-yard pass here,
30-yard pass there, couple runs,touchdown, green Bay's up 7-0.
Well, the very next drive, tennessee came down and scored
right back, 7-7.
Okay, we're in this game.

(57:49):
Defense gets a stop.
I think they gave up three, butthe defense was playing solid.
Will Levis throws stop.
I think they gave up three, butthe defense was playing solid.
Will levish throws a pick sixto jair alexander just
absolutely telegraphed, uh, anout route.

Speaker 1 (58:03):
I'm that man three straight weeks of pick six.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
I didn't do a pick six last week, but yeah he's two
of the three weeks he has picksix and jair alexander just sat
on this this out route or stopand just jumped it, no problem,
almost like he knew exactly whatwas coming pick six, and the
wind just absolutely came out ofthe sails.
It's 17-7 now.
Now we got to try to come backand shout out my guy Raheem

(58:30):
Palmer of the Ringer.
He tweeted out it seems as ifthis Bryce Young benching has
made the Carolina Panthersdefense better.
Yeah, it seems as if this BryceYoung benching has made the
Carolina Panthers defense better.
Yeah, it does.
That's how it works.
When you know the offense cancome out and actually
potentially do something, youplay a little harder on D, you
get a few more stops on D.

(58:50):
That Tennessee Titans team isgoing to flip on Will Levitz to
where nobody cares, because theyknow when that.
When the offense trots outthere, it's a they're dead as a
doornail.
Yeah, that was one thing younever saw with Justin Fields in
Chicago.
It wasn't like man.
No one believes in this kid andeverything is dusted.

(59:12):
That's what happened inCarolina and that's what's going
to happen in Tennessee.
I saw it with my own eyesyesterday after he threw the
pick six.
Everybody in the building, including the team, including
the people on defense, knew theyweren't going to be able to
come back, so it was like, yeah, let's just go ahead and wrap
this up.

Speaker 1 (59:26):
He saw his head coach last week look him dead in the
face and say what the fuck areyou doing, right, I think,
straight weeks with three justegregious turnovers that happen
when you are in a position towin the game or at least take a
lead, um, and, and you can't dothat, it's backbreaking, right.
So all that to say, yesterday, sean put money on will levis man
and we, I feel like we, we talkabout this, we talk about every

(59:49):
year there's a, there's a qb,no fly list, right, I'm very
firm on this sometimes kirkcousins has occupied that, uh,
that terminal for me for a whileof just of just the no fly list
.
Like I said earlier in the show,I set it up a bit anthony
richardson no fly list willlevis domestic terrorist,

(01:00:09):
absolutely no fly list.
Um, you know these.
These are the guys who, whenI'm looking at a game right, I
know we talk about it, I knowyou're big on this and obviously
anybody who's good at pickinggames you look at the number,
right, you try your best to lookat the situation, look at the
number, take your personal biasout of it and just try to be
analytical, like you said.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
Yes, that's what you try to do, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
And we talk about that.
But there's one thing that wealways talk about our eyes.
What have we seen right?
And we have seen will levis andwe understand.
I don't care if will levis isgetting 40 against utep no fly
right, it's so yeah you got it,you got it.
You got to hold firm on thiswith certain guys, right, they

(01:00:53):
are just no flies.
Daniel Jones, I don't care howgood that looked yesterday and
it did look a little tasty, right, we know the Browns are
down.
Yeah, new York needed a win.
It's like, hey, this is a spotthat we would normally take.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
No, flies, I'll give you the biggest one, bo Nix.

Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
Yesterday Everybody in the world was on the Broncos
the whole entire, where I havenever seen more Broncos picks
than it was.
Yeah, I was on the easiest game.
Everybody was on the Broncos.
You couldn't do it.
I couldn't do it because Idon't know if Bo Nix can be a
passenger on my flight yet now.
He played yesterday, he playedreally well.
But again there's just certainguys, and again Nix isn't there
quite there for me yet.
But there's just certain guysthat I've just seen enough.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
I've seen enough the, what makes, what makes the
sports betters and the and thethe handicappers, truly special.
And sometimes I feel like I'min this space and sometimes you
know you have downswings, youfeel like you can't see the
board at all.
But what separates the guys iswhen everything is pointing one
way.
You either stay off or youcould get yourself to go the

(01:01:57):
other way.
And there's it's.
It's really just an experienceyears of watching ball and a
sharp sense like my sharp sensewas telling me just stay off
this shit.
You don't have to pick thisgame, pick another one.
You don't have to, you don'thave to pick this game.
I I understand that everythingis saying.
You know you should takeTennessee here, but you could

(01:02:19):
just go another route andpotentially pick a team like the
Minnesota Vikings who are athome for the second straight
week and are enrolling.
And you know, for as good asColeridge is, they didn't look
that good against a really goodD of the Bears.
No, they really didn't.
And then they went and sawBrian Flores and Brian Flores
was all over Coleridge and theboys.

(01:02:42):
So, yeah, that's what separatesthe guys from the guys they
stay off of the games, eventhough they potentially should
be going that way, and then theypick the ones where they should
be at, like the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
So have you added him to your?
Is he on your?
Do you have a no-fly list tobegin?

Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
with and is.

Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Olevis on it.
I will Because you used to lovebetting on Kirk Cousins too.
I remember you were for a whileRegular season's Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
Yeah, no doubt I try not to have a no-fly list just
because I don't want to Xanybody before I really start
getting into it.
But like, for example, Carolinawas the side this week, you had
to have heart to take that side.
Like you have to have heart, that was the side right.
And coming up next week, youknow what I can 100% there's

(01:03:32):
going to be people in linewaiting to bet the Titans.
So it's tough, man, I try notto create a no-fly list, but
I'll be hard-pressed, I have tobet the Titans again.

Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
I'll just pass.
I won't be one of them.
I will not be one of them.
I will watch.
Yeah, so for me I do again.
I do have the no-fly list.
I have coaches on the no-flylist.
Mike McCarthy is very close.
He has to go through thescanner twice to get on my plane
.
I put it that way, you knowwhat I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
He gets the pat down, he gets the private screening.

Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
So I got to look real close right, because I got
burned on Dallas last week too.
So it's just like you know whatman I don't know, I guess for
me, why put myself throughcertain guys if I don't have to
Like for me?
Why would I put myself throughthe agony of putting my money on
Will Levis, knowing that I justdon't know what's going to
happen?
And if it doesn't go my way,the biggest thing for me if it

(01:04:25):
doesn't go my way, I knowafterwards I'm going to beat
myself up.
Yeah, exactly, that's thebiggest thing you know like I'm
sure that's what you're feelingright now it's some strong
Monday morning quarterbackgambling stuff, right when it's
just like man.
I can't believe I took myhard-earned money and put it on
Will Levis After seeing whatI've seen for two weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
After seeing what I've seen, it's unacceptable.
After seeing what I've, seenit's unacceptable.

Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
So that's kind of that's how my no-fly list works.
But I thought it was funny saidyou had real.

Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
I thought you just had pickup money, but you said
real oh no, I had real cashgreenbacks, I was like oh man,
you see, I had the boys on thereyou had the ducats yeah, the
ducats on tennessee.

Speaker 1 (01:05:02):
You could have given that to the salvation army.
You could, I was, I was reallyclose to having a big day titans
.

Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
Titans scooped me up, but you know we bounce back and
we, we move forward.
That's gonna do it for noCatch-Up NFL Week 3 in the Raps
