Speaker 1 (00:12):
Three sixty Rugul League from every angle, brought to you
by a regame joining me again the great good and
talents bring the journeys in Buzz roth Field and Paul Crawley.
It's great to be back you too, Yeah, back a
long way.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Probably worked together twenty years.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah, Buzz hide me dragged him.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Out of Channel nine and talking about the Telegraph from
two thousand and five, Like.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Cats and Dogs.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
We're looking forward to this show. It was the crankeest
like I've ever worked. Doesn't work for you? Oh wow,
I can't give the figure single right now.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Job on broth last night that was good fun pretty
boy listening to you did I don't know what?
Speaker 2 (00:58):
He also said he loved me too. Has he told
you to love you before? He has?
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Actually because a pretty tight I like beautiful and I
was pleased to see him when that awards. Even with
the disappointment, he was still upset.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
He was still hurting from from the loss.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Anyway, all right our top story thanks to b y
D Shark six. Final preparations are underway for Sunday's designer
on our man Bommer Bedell is embedded with the Broncos
Pete have the wheels come off the bus already.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Well, it looks like it has bread. Good evening to
all the viewers.
Speaker 6 (01:34):
I can tell you that the Broncos hit a bit
of a pothole today.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
They were off to training and the Broncos.
Speaker 6 (01:40):
Bus broke down and that they had a flat tire. Now,
my sources telling me that a certain Field Rothfield may
have been throwing thumb taps across the road as Madge
pulled into the stadium. Now they went to train at
the News World Center of Excellence. Now some mind games
from Madge. They booked two venues. They booked like hard
Over which they've trained that two years ago the Decider,
(02:00):
But they went to the u so Wel Center of
Excellence instead, where of course Michael mcgui worked when he
was new so Well's origin coach, so I knew familiar
terrain for him. But when the players completed the session,
they came back to get on the bus and they
found that the air had gone out of the back tire.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
They had to make some running repairs.
Speaker 6 (02:16):
They called the tire serviceman in and they had to
change the tire. So bit of drama, a bit of
tension for the Broncos.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Today.
Speaker 6 (02:22):
But they all looked smiles and happy at the FanFest
and it was a great, great affair this evening in
this afternoon. So they're ready to go on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yeah, Boma. So you've been around the group for a
long time.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
How do your sense they're going and they're handling this occasion.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Well, Gordy.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
As you know the old man trees, you have to
lose a Grand Final to win one. And look they've
been there two years ago the Broncos. It was heartbreaking
circumstances under Kevy Watters, who did a great job that year.
But I looked at the players today, Gordy, and there
is a real steal. I think there's a calmness but
also a focus that they can get this job done.
And look Melbourne the pressures on them, Gordy. Their conversion
(03:00):
eighting grand finals is not great. They lost last year
and they've never won a premiership in the post Kemp
Smith there so Cameron Munster spoke about that today. So
the Broncos feel that they've got Melbourne's measure. They beat
them in the last round, of course, and with Grease
Walsh on fire, Pat carried him back from suspension of
painhast dominating in the middle. I think they've got the
triumvirate to get the job done.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
On Sunday, Hey, Bomba, Buzz, as you're fully aware, I've
had a sort of hostile relationship with Madge this year.
I wrote at the beginning of the season that players
were struggling early on, I repeat early on, to adjust
to his particularly demanding style of coaching.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Would you back that up?
Speaker 4 (03:40):
And you heard it a dub Ale heard it north
of the border with the journos aware of this.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
Yeah, look, it's a good question, Buzz, and I won't
shy away from it. And yeah, I had heard those
sentiments absolutely, and look not so vociferous as to say
that the coach should be sacked and that there was
made your mutiny or there was a dressing room revolt,
but certainly early on, I think there was some There
were some tensions, and there were some unease with a
few of the players. But I think Buzz it was
(04:10):
what they needed. I mean, I've covered the Broncos for
twenty years. I think they needed more of a mental
steal in the place. I think there was a complacency
at the time. At times it has led to their
demise in big games, and I think Malcolm MacGuire was
hired to inject the harder edge and sometimes there were
going to be teething problems, Buzzy.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
But your mail at the time was right. I have
no doubt about that.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
I heard similar things, but it was never to the
degree that it became major toxicity and something that the
Broncos couldn't overcome.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
They've overcome that.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
Now they're rocking, they're rolling, they're playing as good as
they ever have and now they'd have to get one
more win and Malcolm MacGuire lifts that shield for the
first time in nineteen years for Brisbane.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
I see you've got Sydney Hardy in the background, is
at a cruise on again.
Speaker 6 (04:56):
I've got some good news for you. The Broncos Awards
night is actually here on the harbor. I say, malcolmcgy
is getting a boat stand on the yob and yeah,
you're invited.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
There'll be.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
There'll be caviat there'll be corn chips, there'll be all
leaves for you, buzz So you're welcome to join us
when the Broncos win the premiership on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Bomber, poor cruelly mate on the game this weekend.
Speaker 8 (05:18):
Do you think there is any chance that Madge will
have a late switcheroo and perhaps start as Raman.
Speaker 6 (05:28):
Look, I think it's unlikely Cruels, But I spoke to
Madge a couple of hours ago here and I asked
him that very question, and he had that little twinkle
in his eye.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
He's reveling in the mind games, and he.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
Said, Pete, I'm thinking about it, and it's something that
he hasn't ruled out officially and completely. I still believe
that ben Hunt will start at six. But we all know,
of course Crawls what Ezra Meim did in that twenty
twenty three Grand Final three try blitz Kriig in ten minutes.
It was magnificent stuff. He is a genuine, fully fledged
second receiver. And if Brisbane want to get off to
(05:59):
a fast against the storm side that will try and
dominate them in the middle, then Israeim's flashy feed could
be the difference early. So Michael McGuire hasn't ruled it out.
He's playing some games, but I personally think Ben ben
Hunt will start at six on Sunday.
Speaker 7 (06:12):
Hey bomb, Patty Carrigan comes back and he wants to
sit down with the Broncos bosses.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Do you know why?
Speaker 6 (06:21):
Yeah, I do, Gordy, And there's two interesting news streams
here for the Broncos. So Pat Carrigan, of course, he
signed until the end of twenty twenty eight with the Broncos,
but I can tell you that his management is in
discussions with the Broncos hierarchy at the moment about an upgrade.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
To his an existing deal.
Speaker 6 (06:37):
Now he's on about seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars
this season. You could argue that's unders for a man
of Pat Carrigan's ability. That's prompted his management to go
to the Broncos and say, look, can we get a
little bump up? Can we beef up his deal? I
think that will happen in the fullness of time, possibly
at the end of the season, but I think you'll
find that Carrigan might be on about eight fifty or
nine hundred thousand next season, So there is talk about
(06:59):
that in all Also paining hass I can tell you
that he's he's middlefield in four so they've tabled a
three year extension of pain haars worth about one point
two million a season, So that has been talking about
three sixty Golrudy. Of course Haus having talks with them.
But my mal is he won't be laving the Broncos.
He won't be going to free agency. He will sign
a new deal with the Broncos after the Grand Final.
That's great news for Broncos fans.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Good on your Obama, you are all over it as usual.
Before you go there, mate, are you actually a Queenslander
or a new South Welshman or a be confused?
Speaker 6 (07:30):
Well we'll break three and or four kids a Queenslanders
and one of their birth certificates is rubber steam to
my mountain inga. So that's good enough for me. I'm
a Queenslander. Go the Broncos. Broncos by four on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
He's on the vandwagon. He was born in Uba.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Ok, have a good night and enjoy the Grand Final.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Ballah.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
We love your work all right. Now, imagine Bellamy have
faced off? Can we put our body language expertise to
use here? If they're faced off, buzz, have a look
quick out everything sweet?
Speaker 2 (08:02):
What was wrong with that? I'm asking you?
Speaker 4 (08:05):
No, they're all good. They they've coached together before down
in Melbourne. And who walked away isn't Ricky and Robbo
a few years back? Rick wouldn't shake it? What Gradman
was that?
Speaker 3 (08:17):
I think nineteen was it? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Mate, they're as good as gold. These two.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
They did have a stink, didn't they a couple of.
Speaker 8 (08:23):
Years back, A long long time ago, twenty and thirteen?
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I think it was.
Speaker 9 (08:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
But look, they coached together in Melbourne and they've obviously
got a relationship that's been re established since they had
a bit of an issue. But look, I think, to
be brutally honest every coach in this camp, but sometime
we'll have a fallout after a particular game or you know,
the way things have been a.
Speaker 7 (08:47):
Tactics't Ben told me a long time ago there was
a coaches that he goes if I get too close
to them, I won't coach my best against them. And
I found that pretty strange because you sit in the
coaches box. But they don't have to be friends. They
don't have to like each.
Speaker 8 (09:00):
Other, especially most coaches and even Ricky and Bellamy. On
the week that they're coaching against each other, there is
a little bit of hostility, but they could still be mate.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
After it.
Speaker 7 (09:14):
After it they do, I think before they go yeah,
because I think the Queensland plays back in the day,
like when they first started playing, Arthur Beaton and Jack
Gibson were playing cards and the players went up to
see Arthur and there is with the new South Wales
coach and it took away a bit of the shine.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Now Bellamy had it over Madage for a very long time,
as you can see here with the record, but around
twenty seven Madge turned the tide. He did, and what
does he take from that? Because that was a shocking record.
Speaker 8 (09:44):
It's not just what Madge takes from it, it's what
the players take from it. Because we all know that
for years forever Melbourne have been the Broncos who do side,
haven't they like they've always had the wood on them
and with a lot of other sides. And so for
mad and also the players to go down to Melbourne
and do what they did that day's it would have
(10:06):
to be a breakthrough Mayber like look at this rock
Welsh goes through your man Monster.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
It's just it would give them great confidence.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
I watched that game live.
Speaker 7 (10:15):
Melbourne were a little bit down and Hughes went off
really early, like he said, the shoulder comeback, went off
with that, but Brisbane did a job and it was
clinical and Melbourne I still Melbourne and no matter who
wears that jersey, they normally do the job by Brisbane
are really clinical.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
They'll give Madge and give the player absolute that they
had that win. And it's while his record jordinary. Trent
Robinson in recent years has got a terrible record against
Penrith and Melbourne and couldn't get him over the line.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
And it's just a fact.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
You know, some coaches are more difficult to beat than others,
and I reckon he's not the only one in an
ordinary record against belly.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Looking at both of these teams, that made me think
who has got the better team on paper?
Speaker 2 (10:58):
So I'd love your opinion.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Both great teams if you look at them one through seventeen, Gordy,
who has the better team?
Speaker 7 (11:06):
I think Melbourne have a better spine, Brisbane had more
X factor I think if I look at him, I
think Melbourne are better better side defensively, I think Brisbane.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Had more attacks. So the answer is Brisbane.
Speaker 7 (11:19):
I think Brisbane have more star started players. If you
look at their forward pack, pay has's the best in
the game. Patty Carrying. We just spoke about him. He's
the best. So you think that their forward pack's pretty even.
But with those two guys, they've got two million dollar
half back sitting there in Adam Reynolds, and you've got
as remember, they've got a very young, exciting back there.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
I reckon Melbourne, they've got them covered in a lot
areas except the medals, which is so important in finals,
and we're paying Harsh and Patrick carrying and playing lot
forward and they've got a lot of medals taken roll off.
That's where Brisbane have got a definite vantage Crawls. All
though Stefano were sensational.
Speaker 8 (11:58):
Life he was mate, you're right with the Fords. I
just think that the way I look at it, the
most important players for a reason of the spine, and
I think the storm.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
We've got it all over him in the spine.
Speaker 8 (12:10):
Aside from Rhys Walsh, I think in my eyes, Harry
Grant has been the best player over the back end
of the season, probably since Origin won. Hughes came back
last week and he played like Superman. Munster had a
fantastic game. It just seems to me that Bellamy, even
though they were beaten by the Broncos in what was
it round twenty six or whatever it was twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
He's just time. They're run to perfection.
Speaker 8 (12:36):
Bellamy has They've improved each week as they've gone along,
and I think they learn out of what they've lost
in the past.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
I think they come back a better side.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
This shows you mention the spine. Who do you think better?
I'm we calls you.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
I think you know you can look at the team
because if you look at Melbourne, if their packs just go,
if they had tayto Taylor, they can contain Payne Hars.
I think that Melbourne has got better defense so they
can control the rough mall.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
If they control them up the rough moll.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
And Brisbane don't Harry Grant then takes advantage of that
through the middle, I think, you know. And then if
Harry goes, then you've got your own. Then you've got
Cameron and you know that's and having Frank Ponisi on
the other night when we said you're peaking at the
right time, he straight went to our defense has improved
the out of site in the last two or three weeks,
(13:30):
which is an area that they needed to work on.
So you know, I mean, I'd lean towards Melbourne. You
mentioned the spine CRUs and you said that, well, you
think that their spine and their legacy will be defined
by this result on the weekend.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Well, I think it will.
Speaker 8 (13:44):
I think you know, when you think about the Melbourne
Storm and all the succession premierships they had, it was
with Billy Cooper and Cameron Smith, you know what I mean.
And the last competition they won, Cameron was still there.
So we've now got the best spine in the competition.
You've got Harry Grant arguably the best player, Cameron Munster
arguably the best big game player, Jerome Hughes neck.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
And neck with Nathan.
Speaker 8 (14:09):
But they still haven't won a comp and I'm not
saying this is the end for them, but even Cameron,
we don't know how long he stays in Melbourne. I
think it's their chance to define their legacy, to leave
their their mark on history.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah. I think they know that too.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
And just Gordy, just as you asked me that question before,
I think they've got a real advantage with their wingers,
you know, with Warbrick and Coats. You know they're six
foot three or four, they're over one hundred kilos. They
start their sets and the great targets in attack you.
Speaker 7 (14:41):
Because when I went to that game, ca Toni stays
every right. He didn't get penalties. He just kept on
taking coats out, so.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
He was lucky he didn't get sinned in the there.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
But it's how that's referee officially, and they get AFL
coaching those two weeks. They're good and there on the
area of stuff and they're just both outstanding. I thought
Warbrick had by far best game of the season last fight.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Right the Broncos nineteen years since their last title, so
there is some expectation and pressure.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
I look at that the other day, John Howard was
still Prime Minister. That's how long really was.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yeah, did you like Johnny? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (15:15):
I was a Johnny Howard fan, buddy, I thought, was mate,
what about you?
Speaker 2 (15:18):
It's just I was a bit young. It was more
your time, you know, were you Gordy? Anyway back to the.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
I'm just trying to explain good people who do realize
it's been a long time, we get, we get.
Speaker 8 (15:32):
Gordy and I were having a chat about it about
the back before the show and we worked it out.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
Was it six premierships?
Speaker 8 (15:39):
Gordy in the first eighteen years of the Broncos and
none in the nineteen years since. And you're talking about
the most powerful club, the club with all the resources.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
The struggle for me is the coaches.
Speaker 7 (15:51):
I didn't realize we went through that many coaches because
it feels like Wayne coach.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
There and has been a couple, but been true about
coaches and that six right, Well, there you go. They
are definite under retrievers.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Over those nine twenty years.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
They definitely have had, if you say, the resources, the facilities,
the new center of excellent but certainly the talent, you know,
to win a couple of premierships in that time. It's
so overdue, maybe this Sunday of change.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
It's you know, the momentum is one thing, and you
know they're playing fantastically well, they're riding that wave of momentum.
But then with momentum now and the position there in
becomes expectation of a following in Queensland and throughout you
know it throughout queen Queensland, Brisbane. That's nearly bigger than most, right,
So it's a big game. Yeah, Adam Reynolds, buzz you're
(16:49):
big on still the fact that he left the house
and if he wins his premier.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I am. I'll tell you what I think.
If Adam Reynolds wins the camp gets a ring on
Sunday night, it will go down at Sous is one
of the greatest recruitment for blunders in the history.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
He was sent to different rosters. No, but just hold
on Gordy twenty twenty one. Right.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
He wanted to resign, desperate to stay. Waterloo boys said
the other night he is to practice his goal kicking there, okay,
and Sous wanted to offer one year reduce money. He said,
I want to you know, wouldn't do it, And Sous
then had to sit back and watch him take himself
to Brisbane and ultimately steer this side into the Grand
(17:34):
Final on Sunday afternoon. In between losing Reynolds. They tried,
They've tried Lewis Styd He was an epic failure. Didn't
get much of a go there did he in six games?
So I can't recall such a poor decision to let this.
(17:54):
He's proven you look at the amount of games played
this year. But he does get injured.
Speaker 7 (18:01):
Yes, I know that, but there's a certain age, right
that you get to where you do get injuries. And
you look at day Cherry Evans and my point to that,
and I think it is a bit of a blunt no,
but it is a bit of a blunder. But why
didn't Adam back himself and go you, I'll do the
one year right?
Speaker 2 (18:17):
If they did get it.
Speaker 8 (18:19):
Wrong, they did get it wrong because at the time,
the rumors were out there everywhere.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Weren't they buzz.
Speaker 8 (18:26):
About him here but not being fit enough and his
body wasn't going to hold up, and they weren't going
to give him two years.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Yes you can stay, but there's no guarantees.
Speaker 8 (18:35):
But I think he'd earned the right at that stage
to get two years. And here we are four years later,
like four seasons, did not.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Medically retired retired.
Speaker 8 (18:48):
Maybe that's so that they read them with another on
this bloke because he's still playing, he's playing in.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
The Grand fight. Gets Now, you know, hindsight's a wonderful thing.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
And I'll tell you another thing.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Wouldn't Souse talk about injury problems?
Speaker 4 (19:00):
And this is not a shot at Latrell Mitchell, but
look at the amount of football he's in the last
couple of years because of injuries.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
So they need to do something about this.
Speaker 8 (19:08):
They also said at the time puzz They said we
won't give out multi year contracts to players over thirty,
and since then they've given Cody an extended deal. I
think Jack Whiteon joined the club on a three year
deal when he passed thirty, yet Reno couldn't get two years,
kept saying they.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Should have kept it all right.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Last night, who's who of rugby league gathered to celebrate
the Dallim Awards. In the end of Rooster's legend, shattered
the records, the secure of the game, his most prestigious honor.
Speaker 9 (19:41):
That's the twenty twenty five Dam's coming to you from
the week stand here at Royal ran We because we
get ready to celebrate the best of the best in
the NRL and nrl W competitions.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Hey, Tamika, here's your games.
Speaker 8 (19:55):
Your NRLW Dallian Player of the Year is Tamika.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
When you're happy, you're playing your best footage, so love well.
My teammates can't wait to get there on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Can you chut Sisco?
Speaker 1 (20:09):
You're twenty twenty five Dalli M Medal winner James Tidesco.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
From the Sydney Roosters.
Speaker 10 (20:16):
I've probably had a lot of critics, a lot of
doubts last couple of years. I guess to be back
on this stage when in this medal is a proud
achievement for myself. I'm really just humbled to be up
here and see this wall alongside, you know, so many
great players up here.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Congratulations for the two times dallim medal winner James Tedesco.
But he has pulled out of the Kangaroos and the
squad was leaked to the media today. Here it is,
what do you think of these guys? Do you like
the squad that has been named seven deputants in this.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Of course?
Speaker 8 (20:51):
Yeah, I think it's a pretty good squad. Look that
it's a tough job at the moment, isn't it. There's
a lot of guys pulling out, a lot of guys
going who played with Pacific Nations countries. It's the best
you can do, I think at the moment. There's a
couple of questionable ones.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
There, but yeah, well we've got this Calamatani best Preston Brayley,
Normany do I say strange?
Speaker 2 (21:15):
N walsh All said to Debu.
Speaker 7 (21:16):
Gordie, Yeah, I think it's a really strong squadron, you know,
with all those guys, and I said, with the developing
Nations taken some of the top line players, I think
it's a really strong squad and they've got a big
job on their hands as well.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
I think Padman Best is a very interesting selection from
a struggling Newcastle Knights side that won the Wooden Spoon. Look,
we were that Turbo Latrell, Stephen Cricht and the Hammer
Herbie Farnworths obviously with the UK personally val Hams of course. Yeah,
I would have liked to have seen Supersaki and Jack Howarth.
(21:50):
Shibasaki played Origin during the year, played really well before
Schubersarki was picked. They went and tried to get Jack Howard,
but how had the appendicitis had to pull out.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
I would have liked to.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Have given them an opportunity in the DF to force him.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Last time Brabin Best was questioned, it was the great
Brent Red You remember that before.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Yeah, we all questioning. I just could not myself.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
It was another moment I thought I'd just bring it up.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
But I can do one thing about reading. I'm not
missing him. There was making a little bit more sense.
Speaker 7 (22:26):
Than but I'm not on the selection committee right for
the Australian town. But I do understand that when the
Prime Minister's turning up to PNG, there'll be some players
that are going to play for spots.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
So maybe those guys might get.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
A final squad. No, well, I wouldn't think They've got
to be fully fit, so you can't. There's a three
games we get over there, you hit the ground running.
There's not a long time to get match fitness.
Speaker 8 (22:49):
So you've got to be my best too. Yeah, if
he made a really good point, you know, like we all,
I questioned him too. It wasn't just read a lot
of people questioning when Freddie brought him into the New
South Wales side.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Can I understand what you're saying.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
I'd like to leave the door open for someone to
play the lights out doors open and maybe you know
what if they go out and they blow the Grand
Final wide open and they have a game and they
get picked, I'm pretty sure they.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
What is your B for the week? B for the week?
What do we got?
Speaker 3 (23:22):
You've got to remind me there.
Speaker 8 (23:23):
Oh, the contracts, this are three sixty and and the
blow up about the players talking about it and I
understand it, but the only thing I'll say in the
game of rugby league and the NRL and the modern day,
there's no loyalty to a contract.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
There's no respect of the contract.
Speaker 8 (23:41):
We have guys breaking contracts, we have clubs breaking contracts.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
You look at what.
Speaker 8 (23:45):
Happened with Lewis Dodd this week, brought out from England.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
It was a long time ago I did that.
Speaker 8 (23:51):
No, no, I'm not looking at you, but but but
he was brought.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
Out from England, you know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (23:55):
And it doesn't work out for South so they push
him out the door. We spent the whole season talking
about Lachland Galvin walking out on the West Tigers with
eighteen months of his contracts still to go.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Yet here we've got a couple.
Speaker 8 (24:08):
Of blakes, you know, aside from Zach Lomax talking about
leaving or potentially leaving with one year and suddenly it's
become this big issue. Our game hasn't respected contracts for
so long. I hope it becomes a line in the
same moment, and I hope they start forcing clubs and
players to respect contracts for the full great point.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Yeah, very very good, beef.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
I have a bit of a problem with Zach Lomac's
in that he didn't like Wing. Last year, he winged
about playing, he asked for release, got a release sign
with Paramatter big money four years, twenty twenty eight, didn't
play Sandak gone to the wing.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
Do you believe what you've read in the paper?
Speaker 4 (24:48):
And I think it's right Zach once out again twice
in twelve months.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
I don't like that, Crauls, you didn't like this statement
or no.
Speaker 8 (24:57):
So when Clinton Schakowski came out and spoke about this
and tried to put it to bed in the story
with Peter Bdell and the Courier Maile, he basically says, well,
his contract and he's playing there unless the contract situation changes,
Like isn't that many to talk break? Like what the
hell is that he has got a contract that runs
(25:17):
to twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
A contract situation.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
I've said it already. I believe he's gone.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
Yessing to tell you something, your male So I ring
Jason Rowlsey is on holidays in Jubai. He rings back
and I said, well you let him go, and he
said I'd seriously consider him. So I actually think to
pick to use Zach's money. Josh Hada car came to
a lot Ben they thought on one wing to use
his money, they'd rather use it to find a five
(25:49):
eight for Dylan Brown. So look, your male that he
probably won't play an RL.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Again is probably on the money.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
I think it is, And after further chats and conversations,
I don't think exactly be there next year.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
But watch this space. Is that the biggest story you've
ever broken? So it's very impressive, reporter.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
But it's interesting though.
Speaker 8 (26:11):
You can expand on that though, too, because zach Lonbak's
right as good a season as he had.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
What are you going to break the story? Can you
let this man finish.
Speaker 8 (26:20):
As good a season as he's had for mine? And
you wrote about it. I wrote about it. Jonah Peasant
would fit like a glove in that squad, and I
just think that we'll take.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Paramatta to the next level.
Speaker 8 (26:35):
And buzz I agree totally on the fact that I
hate the fact that players walk out on I'm.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Just saying, why doesn't the game do something to stop it?
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Would have flat out denied it, but he did. Yeah,
we're going.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
We've got to go because we've got the Catchies and
coaches and Grand Final coming up.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Crawls. Thank you for the year. You've been outstanding.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
We appreciate your work and Buzzy.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
I can't I can't wait to Yeah, you look like
you enjoyed the grand Say you boys.
