(02:06):
fly and the Seagles desperate for a win.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Boys, how good it's that time.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
Of the year.
Speaker 7 (02:11):
Pumped up the Super Saturday Teasa was outstanding Braith and
that game between the Dogs and the Dragons, two arch rivals,
famous clubs, a lot of history and a lot on
the lawne Saturday night. Given the shakeup to the Bulldogs
playmaking rinks.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
It's a good Super Saturday, isn't it.
Speaker 8 (02:26):
This is the run home now, This is where it
gets nice and dicey as far as everyone scratching for
absolute valuable, valuable two points. But I love what Jason
Rowles is doing as far as making big decisions not
only for the now but for the future as well.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
And that call around Dylan Brown.
Speaker 7 (02:45):
The anything I'd say with Rosy is with the Dylan
Brown call, right, why didn't they just chip in a
little bit of money and letting go because if they're
going to.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Want to go.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
No, no, he didn't want to go. But if paramount the.
Speaker 9 (02:59):
Night, isn't it absolutely? You pay someone thirteen million and
he doesn't want to come to you.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
I find it confusing.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
We'll get we'll get to that a little bit later.
Speaker 9 (03:09):
Saturday, Super Saturday Calm Ben Johnson tell you what make
the new host? And on Super Saturday he's.
Speaker 6 (03:18):
Flying off the dad anyway, No, Crana, what's happening here, Dave?
Speaker 2 (03:25):
The Finals?
Speaker 6 (03:26):
Grand Final Day fans go and get their tickets early
then looking forward to their team, their GF but the
Sharks to buy nothing.
Speaker 8 (03:33):
Fire up Sharks fans, they're very fickle. Bunch down on
the show.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
What's you one of them?
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (03:38):
Look at that for yours. I'm there, I'm there, Bass.
Look this is what happens with Sharks fans.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Fitz.
Speaker 8 (03:45):
He loses back to back games and suddenly they can't
win the comp Okay they have they need a performance
against the Roosters on Friday night and you watch them
clamor for tickets.
Speaker 9 (03:55):
Twice as many Titans fans have bought Grand Final tickets.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
You know that's the cafes, the beaches, all these gods country.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
They couldn't give it, you know what, They're happy on
the show.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Let's see how they go, see how they go after
Friday night.
Speaker 6 (04:10):
It doesn't get any tougher for the mainly for Merely sorry,
taking on the Storm at Avy Park and they know.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
It obviously a big test.
Speaker 10 (04:18):
Always hard going down there and facing Melbourne and they've
been playing some pretty good footage, so yeah, big test
for us, but I know the boys will be looking
forward to it. We played them early on in the
year and they put a bit of a score on
us here at home, so yeah, we'll be looking forward
to trying to get that back.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
There's obviously no bigger tests.
Speaker 11 (04:38):
They're a great side and they've been doing it for
many years and go down there to Melbourne their home ground,
there's no bigger tests. We had a little tough period
a few weeks ago. We've turned that around with two
good wins at home and we've got a big few
games coming up. For training well and being consistent. Yeah,
the results can take care of themselves.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Manly's month from hell.
Speaker 6 (04:57):
They've had a couple of close wins, but they've got
a tough draw.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
They play the Storm Bulldogs roosters and raids.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
Now, if they don't start to get some results here
hoops and a crash in these next four games, there's
the speculation and the noise get louder.
Speaker 7 (05:13):
I think it does get louder break if they have
a howler over the course of the next month, and
I think that wins over West Tigers in South Sydney.
While they might have quietened the noise to a degree,
they've only papered over the cracks. The issues at the
club are still very real and they're still very much there,
and they are that there's elements of the playing group who,
what I'm told, aren't necessarily always on the same page
(05:37):
as their coach Anthony Sebold in terms of the philosophy
around the style of football that the team plays. So
that's not going to get fixed overnight. And if they
have a rough month then I think the noise does
get louder. I saw Buzz did his pressure gauge on
Monday night where he had sebs on a six and
a half. I reckon he's probably more like an eight
at this point.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
So Buzz has got it wrong, has he?
Speaker 5 (06:00):
Well, it's just opinion.
Speaker 12 (06:01):
Broody loves his opinion they have flown under the radar
due to the fact that they had to buy last
weekend and all his talk around the other coaches and
other clubs under pressure mainly are slipping through.
Speaker 8 (06:14):
But I think it's only for so long on the
basis that they do play the Melbourne Storm.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Obviously we just saw their tough draw there. For me,
I've spoken about it before. Guys.
Speaker 8 (06:23):
This comes down to the legacy of daily Cherry Evans
and how does he want to leave this footy club?
How does he want to leave this team at the
end of this season from the way it started and
the way it rocketed out of control early doors.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Do you think he can.
Speaker 8 (06:38):
When the headlines hit Well, I would like to think
he cares, Cordy, I would like to think he cares because.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
And I think down he would care. He would care
about wanting to finish on a high.
Speaker 7 (06:48):
And he's clearly got beef with figures at the club.
That's part of the reason why.
Speaker 8 (06:53):
He's left, no doubt, hoops, no doubt, But how do
you want to be remembered?
Speaker 2 (06:58):
And we haven't sign of course not he still going.
Speaker 9 (07:05):
Sitting seventh on like twenty two points cut off twenty
eight or thirty. So they've got to win half of
their game. So if they have a tough month, they
got to win their last four to make the tht.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Gord he flipped the script. If this blow.
Speaker 8 (07:16):
Honestly, if he has, he has lights out footy for
the next four weeks, everything changes as far as with respect.
Speaker 7 (07:24):
They're playing Melbourne yp the Dogs, the Roosters and the Raiders.
They're going to know a lot more than just DC.
He's got eleven out of ten.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
Chance, he's got a leader he needs to Yes, what
about Tom and Jake they're not locked in, so it's
a big end of the year for those two as well.
Speaker 12 (07:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (07:39):
Absolutely, And and you know, only a month ago there
was discussions about potentially resigning. Well that's just been pressed
paus On. Well over this situation of Tom playing in
the centers. We spoke about it before. Guys, he's suddenly
while ever he's playing center. That's not full back money
as far as the contract extension is concerned. So everything's
(08:00):
on ten of hooks as far as the mainly Seagulls
are concerned right now.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
A tough month for head of them.
Speaker 6 (08:04):
Before we go press pressure Gauge for what have you
got sea bowler, I'll.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Go closer with bars around that seven.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Mark still higher?
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yeah, all right?
Speaker 6 (08:17):
As the Tigers fight to avoid a fourth straight wooden spoon,
Adam do he's opened up on he's contract and that's
so called dust up with Benji.
Speaker 13 (08:24):
The first time you've been up since the reports came
out about you and Benji having in the left altercation.
Can you clear up what happened there for us?
Speaker 3 (08:31):
I think it's all been cleared up. I don't well
spoke to it, so it's all done n dusted.
Speaker 13 (08:35):
No drumas for you there drums, I guess when he's
running them shapes against us on the ones team, it's
a really good practice.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
For us and it gets us ready for the game.
Speaker 13 (08:43):
Can you enlighten us on where you're at and then
where you potentially might be next year?
Speaker 3 (08:47):
That's the big boss, Richard.
Speaker 13 (08:48):
Would you like to stay here? See what happens with
all your injuries? The club resigned you and showed a
lot of faith. Would you like to be given a
chance to repay this? It happens No Jerome today at
training just given arrest.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I don't ever know what about the quick fire questions
like last minute.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
Friend, he said, asked the big fellow, rich big fellow.
He said, sorry, he said, asked Richer and the dust up?
Though they've played that down, Uh, is there any truth
to it?
Speaker 9 (09:24):
He was getting agitated then he was asked the questions.
It's like they're not offering him a deal, just sort
of reading into it because you listen, you know we're
close to sorting it out. If he knows that his
future is settled, you would think that he's questioning about
the club would be a little bit nicer.
Speaker 8 (09:38):
I think there's been discussions of a new deal. I
don't think there's anything been forthcoming. That's my understanding, And
clearly Adam wants to see some some proof as far
as being having the opportunity to potentially be then.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
On the dust up.
Speaker 7 (09:51):
On the dust up, I think the dust up happened, right,
There's no doubt. I've spoken enough. There was definitely an incident.
At training. Benji was as he often does. He was
doing it today as well at the Tiger Center of Excellence.
He puts the boots on and he's on the ground
and training with the side hands on a lot of
the time they've repaired it. They did their best to
(10:11):
smother it. It's gone away for now, on do it.
I think he has been offered a deal. I think
he was low ball by rich O.
Speaker 6 (10:18):
Yeah, if you're going on language, and that's just my
interpretation of his response.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
He wasn't happy at all.
Speaker 7 (10:26):
I think he was given an awful last week. I'm
pretty sure anyone's a one year deal because obviously got
a new side coming in in twenty seven as well.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
There will be options, but.
Speaker 7 (10:36):
I don't think he's happy with the respect that the
club has shown his respect.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
What's he worth?
Speaker 14 (10:42):
Know?
Speaker 2 (10:42):
What is?
Speaker 5 (10:43):
I think he's been one of their better players.
Speaker 7 (10:44):
To be fair, he's had to play a variety of
different positions. He's played in the centers, he's played in
the harves, he's played five eighties.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Plan what's worth.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
He's in and around the four four hundreds as far
as I'm concerned.
Speaker 8 (10:58):
Is that unfair? I think he's around four hundred thousand.
I think he's a good versus. He's been super versatile.
His last two weeks have been terrific. I think he's
been their best player.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
I think it started with a three. I think it
was about.
Speaker 9 (11:10):
Three just back on Benji, was there any one to
down main stream.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
That is the ball fro upper cut left right hand.
Speaker 8 (11:20):
No founders, We've been We've been to training sessions for
twenty five years now.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
It happens in the NRL.
Speaker 8 (11:26):
Have you had your coach in a previous coach run
training drills at you and.
Speaker 9 (11:34):
At Wayne Minute went to sign a rugby player, right,
went down to the flats at ascro and run at
the run at the rugby player. The rugby player knocked
him out.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah, true, Yeah, how long is this Scott?
Speaker 9 (11:52):
Yeah, he's going to think of like spot like changing
and Wayne run at him and just got.
Speaker 7 (11:59):
Do you don't like Benji putting the I just just.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
I don't give it. He's recently retired. And you know what.
Speaker 7 (12:07):
Benji's always done. Benji's always done it to his own.
Speaker 9 (12:13):
Gary Belcher was our like sort of conditioner and he'd
run shape on us all the time. And if you
get a shot on him like you would.
Speaker 7 (12:21):
I do find it strange. I think he has overstepped
the mark and I think he's learned the lessons out
of it, because from what I'm told is that he
is still involved. He was involved in their training session today,
but not as hands on as perhaps what he has
been previously.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Now Jerome Lewi has he delivered this year?
Speaker 6 (12:40):
Here, here are some numbers, because the great James Hoop
has been in the lab. Hoops, take us through your
numbers and what you've found out today?
Speaker 7 (12:48):
Always problematic when they let me in the lab breath,
but I managed to make it out again this morning.
And zero tries, zero line breaks for Jerome And when
you compare him so the other gun playmakers in the
competition is he Katah was obviously leading the way at
the moment in terms of try assists. Jerome's figures read
(13:09):
a little lean.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
I also did.
Speaker 7 (13:12):
Some homework about his time at Penrith last year. Last
year he was a hell of a lot more active
in terms of tries and line breaks and overall involvement.
I know it's not fair to compare the Penrith four
time premiership winning side of the three time Wooden Spooners,
but I think it is fair to ask the question. Yeah,
he's been signed as the main man, six million dollar deal.
(13:33):
The club has pushed their chips all in on him
being the player that they're going to build the club around.
I think it's going to get there. But the jury's out.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
At the moment.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
I think at the start he was trying to find
his feet. They had him.
Speaker 6 (13:44):
Playing seven, and he was they had the Gavin situation,
and he was playing a different style, and we spoke
about that, like he kind of you know, that instinctive
and playing both sides or skipping across field. He wasn't
doing any of that. He was getting his kicks in.
He was just laying the line and getting game plan
on for his team. So that probably took a little
bit of sting away. But he hasn't really blossomed has
(14:04):
He hasn't really gone to that next level that we
thought he wouldn't. With most hards, you go, okay, yeah,
he's having a decent seating. He's having a good season,
but he's on big money. You know, he's their prize
recruit and they probably do need more out of him,
you know, to be honest, right.
Speaker 7 (14:18):
If you compare it to nick O Hollens at the Sharks,
like he's routinely put up on the hoist and there's
criticisms of every single one of his performances. Whereas, and
I'm not saying that Jerome won't be a good signing.
I think in the long term, he will because of
his professionalism, because he's come out of a winning system,
because the Tigers needed people like him around their dressing rooms.
(14:40):
But when you're on that sort of money, you automatically
leave your performances open to.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
He's a good signing.
Speaker 6 (14:47):
It's just taped it off a bit right and with
the back end of the evening.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
It's so important to this side.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
For Jerome, it's important for their team, but it's important
for Benji. So there's a lot. There's a light line
even though they're not really the position now. Well they are,
but they're not to make finals and push for that.
They're playing for more than anyone really.
Speaker 7 (15:06):
You raised a great point in that he started off
as a seven. Right he signed with the West Tigers,
he spoke openly about I want to wear that jump up.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
Benji was my idol as a kid.
Speaker 7 (15:14):
I want to show everybody that I can step out
of Nathan Cleary's shadow and I'm not Ralburant. I can
be the main man. Well, I don't think that suits
Jerome's style of play. I don't think it suits a
player that he is, and I think we've seen since
Latu final came into that side that he's better off
just playing a secondary five H roll.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
I think this is a timing thing.
Speaker 8 (15:37):
Look, it's going to take time for him to adjust
largely big clause.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
He's not playing with Nathan Cleary.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
Lato final is not Cleary, Lucky Galvin was not Nathan Cleary,
and I think the time for him to adjust has
taken longer I would think than they would have hoped.
Because I agree with you. I don't think he has
been lights out at all this season. He's had a
decent season. He's had a decent season, but not what
we expected of Jerome.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Just greatly.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
On the clause with Jerome, what's going on with that?
Will will he get rid of those that clause or.
Speaker 8 (16:07):
I spoke to Jerome two weeks ago in Origin camp
and the question was raised, when are you going to
make a determination as far as triggering a clause that
just rolls over your contract beyond twenty seven? He said,
I will address it at the end of this season.
I'll sit down with my manager. Well, if you're gonna,
if you're gonna, if you're in, you roll the cause
(16:29):
you're in.
Speaker 7 (16:30):
I just said, he's all in. In fairness to Jerome,
he's still got the clause there. He's got two clauses
back to back years next year and then he can
also activate one min year later. But to me, he
looks as though he's one hundred percent.
Speaker 8 (16:43):
Invest He's making all the noises he is except for signing,
except for the contract comment.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
Let's move on to the Newcastle Knights and Dave, you
broke the story on Adam O'Brien.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Will he be given to the end of the season.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
That's my understanding. Breath boys. You know.
Speaker 8 (16:59):
They want to assess the next seven weeks, right, and
it's a damn tough draw for the Knights, as we
said here, the Warriors this weekend, followed by the Raid
as the buyers Handy Penrith, Cowboys Broncos.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
And then they finished with Sharks and paramatter.
Speaker 8 (17:18):
The next seven weeks will ultimately determine where the board
want to go next. If it is catastrophic over the
next few weeks as far as the performances are concerned,
then that are weir.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
But there is certainly an element in the room that
one they.
Speaker 8 (17:35):
Have significant injuries and it is difficult to assess the
performances when your key players are on the sidelines. And
second to that is there is a belief that this
salary cap rosta has been skewed prior to Peter O'Sullivan
getting there, of which they've been attempting to straighten up
(17:55):
and clean out the roster.
Speaker 9 (17:57):
Just on. That was Peter Sullivan there when they signed
Dylan Brown. Yeah, that was a startling. That was his
big four her. Yeah, couldn't have been. That's good to
spend thirty million on one player.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 8 (18:09):
So look next seven weeks breath, we'll see how the
performances stack up. But at this point in time, Adam
O'Brien will see the season out with Newcastle, all right.
Speaker 6 (18:19):
Now, well they let Calen Ponger walk out the door,
so off the back of the O'Brien the coach and
possibly leaving it at season's end. Now we've got Kaylen
and speculation about him leaving. Has anything developed there.
Speaker 8 (18:30):
Meeting in the next forty eight hours breath, and this
will be significant as far as understanding what all the
noises about. Kaylan needs to come clean with the footy club.
Are you in or you're out? And that's what I understand.
The next forty hours.
Speaker 7 (18:43):
There's got to be something there, Dave, because it surprises me.
We've heard crickets from team Ponger so far. Whether it's
deadis the bull frog? Andre reading Man, Yeah, yeah, that
was quite insightful dialogue, wasn't it? Or Kayln right, we'd crickets.
If there's nothing doing, then why don't you just come
(19:03):
out and say so? Newcastle Ben trolling to get in
touch with this agent who is apparently working for Carlen
behind the scenes, and the Blake won't ringing back.
Speaker 9 (19:13):
Who's got the power? Can the Knights make him stay
out of the contract.
Speaker 7 (19:17):
I think there's a view, Gordy that perhaps they'd be
prepared to let Carlin gets they might be better off.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Yeah, they might be better off.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
It's not you, it's it's at that point you don't
have anymore to move on or other options separation.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
I think there's a discussion to be had about clubs.
Speaker 8 (19:43):
How much are we investing in Kylen Ponger and how
much are we getting out of him. I think the
debate is there on whether the returning on investment has
been worth it.
Speaker 7 (19:52):
The other debate is they're a total muppet show, the
Knights administration, or how they've let this story about Adam
O'Brien leak out the way that has. They probably will
move him on at the end of this season. That's
the male uh, the fact that they've let it get
out that Blake Green, who's the current assistant, is the
front runner to then replace him. I just find Phil Gardner.
(20:12):
I think we've said it plenty of times on this show, breath.
He does a very good job at running leagues clubs
and bing night at the bistro, But we should stick
the schooners and snitzells and running a rugby league clubs.
Speaker 5 (20:28):
That tells you everything.
Speaker 9 (20:32):
It was a great story my day, but that shows
you where the club's at. If you want culture, you
want people to buy in, and you're not buying in
you know, from the top office or from the front office. Well,
it's really hard. If you asked you you wrote that story.
Speaker 8 (20:48):
Yeah, Well, this is a club that's built on its
history and it's people and its passion. And the way
they treated Alex McKinnon on Saturday, they've turned their back
on It's disgrace on that they've turned their back on
what the club is built on and Alex Alex and
(21:08):
Alex moves on. It's a big deal. But to Hoops's point,
the CEO needs to focus on meat raffles and running
legs clubs and let the football department do their job because.
Speaker 7 (21:22):
He's going at the end of the year Peter Parrell
take over a well, but even then he's still the chairman,
he's still involved. And this is what happened last time
when they employed out of O'Brien and Nathan Brown got
White ended. Remember they had he had third parties in
between negotiating. O'Brien survived a couple of attempts on his head.
We've discussed it on this show. I think it was
(21:44):
eight en months ago when they'd made a secret approach
to Debs. What have only been twelve months ago.
Speaker 8 (21:49):
This is the same CEO that lets Andre Ponger come
to press conferences. I mean we did stay to see
fathers of players go to press conference unless they're sons
of legends of the previously played the game. There's up
to twenty past Newcastle Knights players currently playing at rival
NRL clubs. We're seeing the situation with Alex on the weekend.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I mean it's.
Speaker 8 (22:15):
You know, I speak about Adam O'Brien having you know,
the next seven weeks.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
To at least survive. But how does he really know that?
Speaker 8 (22:24):
Given the way that Nathan Brown was wide ended for
Adam o'briwen to come in, it.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
Sounds like Newcastle need a full reset and clean the
decks and start again, unfortunately for their supporters, because there's
a lot of work to do up there in the Hunter. Now,
what's going on with the Kangaroo's coaching job? Has anyone
got anything for us on that?
Speaker 7 (22:44):
Mystery surrounds Braith the IRL Commission of protecting it like.
Speaker 6 (22:48):
It's a warhead.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (22:53):
I really don't know, but I just know from asking
a lot of people what he's actually doing and who's.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
Going to get it.
Speaker 7 (23:00):
Made me think that perhaps they were going to change
the rule about it not being allowed to be a
club coach and that they were going to give it
to Wayne Bennett. But I don't think Wayne's heard anything
from them.
Speaker 9 (23:10):
Well the questions easy, Wayne, would you give up coach
in South to coach.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
The Kangaroos, But he's not going to. He's got a contract.
Speaker 9 (23:16):
There where they're at and to be at the preseason.
If I'm a South fan, if I'm the boss of
South I want him there from November one or whenever
they start training, because that's what they're paid to do.
Speaker 7 (23:30):
But Wayne's got a clause in his contract with SOUSE anyway,
he doesn't have to be at training until January. Well
that's they gave him that. They gave him that contract.
Speaker 9 (23:39):
Well that's a really poor contract because that's where the
hard work's done.
Speaker 7 (23:42):
But you let some of your emerging blokes like Ben
Hornby and some of the good assistants.
Speaker 5 (23:50):
No, it's not standing for him usually I.
Speaker 9 (23:53):
Think this was Can some just put it in this
scenario you miss his aur name, do you get home
on time? It's just that scenario.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
That's for no.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
No, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 9 (24:07):
No, because if Wayne's not there, and if your teacher's
not there, you break the rules. And he did it
with us, And then I had to tell him way
back when if you don't come, you don't blame us
halfway through the year, right, because kids don't touch the line, right,
And if you can get away with anything, because we're
all human, if you can get away without touching the line,
and work on that little bit harder. And I knew
when Wayne was at a training session pre season, even
(24:28):
when we're doing laps. You train harder because your boss
is there. And if your boss is not there, in
any situation in any office, I guarantee your boss leaves
the office at three o'clock, there'll be some blokes pack
up their bags. Not everybody pack up their bags and
go because the boss is not in the office.
Speaker 6 (24:43):
When you at a restaurant, and if you're not there yourself,
it till is always down there.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
That hard way too.
Speaker 7 (24:50):
I still think they should look at changing the rule
four way to take that position because he's got decades
off he experience Gordy in the game.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
A right that.
Speaker 7 (25:01):
He's standing is unquestionable and unchallenged, and I think he's
the best person for the.
Speaker 9 (25:07):
If they didn't, if there wasn't blokes like Kevy and
camp Smith.
Speaker 5 (25:12):
If it's Kevy, why don't they just announce it?
Speaker 9 (25:14):
I'd love it to be Kevin same the game would
be yeah, crying out for someone like ke They've got
to get moving.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
There's no doubt in the world. It's not that far away.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
There's why do you think they're not moving quick?
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Look und the stamped lands on his way back into
the country.
Speaker 8 (25:29):
As soon as he gets back in the next forty
eight hours, hopefully we'll get.
Speaker 9 (25:33):
Or I wouldn't even care if it's Billy Slater and
Laurie Daily or Billy or Laurie right, because are they're
good enough to coach their states? You know, I think
they're good enough to coach the country.
Speaker 6 (25:42):
Are we getting into the territory now? If we don't
announce the coach sooner soon, we're going to be unprepared
for the ashes?
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Or are we worried about that at all?
Speaker 3 (25:52):
I think there's an element for sure.
Speaker 7 (25:54):
I think it's already gone past that. It's so close.
It's only just around the court. True, And you've got
to play the first US game in October.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Hello, you just make sure you have on time.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
Kevin Serado isn't shying away from his selection game with
lockling Galvin take a listen.
Speaker 14 (26:12):
And working really hard on our attack. We've been trying
to just evolve our attack and understanding what's going to
have to be those top teams who've got really good
defensive systems, and we just felt like we weren't sort
of getting there.
Speaker 10 (26:23):
Ye.
Speaker 14 (26:23):
Locke's been shout some really good signs of training the
way he can with his natural talent with the ball
and how he can unlock players around him. So he's
been working really hard. He came up in the coach's
box last week and a really good opportunity for him
to see what we're seeing now. He deserves his opportunity
to impressed everyone with his work ethic and his ability
to learn. While it was a tough decision because you know,
we love Tavy as a person and he's done a
(26:44):
great job for us and we're not giving up on him.
But right now, yeah, Locke deserves an opportunity.
Speaker 6 (26:50):
Yes, the decision has been made Lochlin Galvin to start
as the seven for the Bulldogs. And what's amazing about this,
Davi is you've got predictive.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
Powers because you've been you've been.
Speaker 6 (27:00):
Predicting this for a while and starting to think, do
you have any connections at the Bulldogs?
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Well that's our job as journeys bra, isn't it.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
You've nailed it.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
Well, there's one.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Buzz buzz buzzers on board now too.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Yeah, Yeah, he's happy, he's on board.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
He that was a big backflip, wasn't it. There's a
couple of backflips.
Speaker 7 (27:19):
Monday night, Monday morning, he was playing this Monday night.
Speaker 5 (27:24):
He was wearing the seven jump.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
What are we thinking about this? So we all I.
Speaker 7 (27:27):
Think the Bulldogs have done a stellar public relations campaign,
work on the phones, behind the scenes, with every journal
and senior media personality in town. I think it's the
right call, but I don't think it comes without a
fair element of risk. They're nearly on top of the
competition and we're loading the competition for a long way,
and they have tinkered with a winning side in a
(27:49):
bid to get better. But there's no guarantee you and
there win percentage. With Toby Sexton, they win seventy seven
percent of the games he plays, Yeah, thirty three percent
without him?
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Is this here? Is it?
Speaker 5 (28:02):
Yeah? This was in the lab again. They let me
back in there again today. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
I had the lab coat on and was testing out
all sorts of stuff and this is what we came
up with.
Speaker 5 (28:14):
You know.
Speaker 6 (28:15):
It's it's you know, because he has had a lot
of success, So I'm not surprised by that win percentage, right.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
I do think a few of these games were last year.
Speaker 6 (28:26):
It was at the start of the year when they
were just when Hutcheson was in the position, and they
didn't quite pull the trigger on sex. Remember they let
Hutcheson stay there for for probably a little bit too long,
and they held sext them back. Then he got in
and he's been very good since. I don't think, you know, like,
it's not about winning right now games, it's about winning
the comp you know. That's that's the big shift here.
(28:48):
It's like they can win. They know they can win club.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Games and when it gets to the finals. We all know,
Gordy that.
Speaker 6 (28:56):
The the level goes up, it's a lead.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
It's the best of the best. You go to find
another level you've got to be, you know.
Speaker 6 (29:02):
And and they haven't found that for a while now,
and they're looking for it.
Speaker 9 (29:06):
And I think it'd be hard for a Bulldogs fan
to swallow because it wasn't broken, right if it was broken,
and you bring someone in while you sort of clap.
Speaker 8 (29:14):
Debate that, I debate that good it was broken? Well, mate,
they took on the Cowboys and in the last in
the last four second it broke, broke and broken. To
be mard, that's what it needs to be tinkered with.
In the last four to six weeks, they are running
last last for scoring tries inside twenty as far as
(29:34):
the most amount of player the balls.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
I've been in the lab as well.
Speaker 8 (29:38):
Second of that, yes, they scored twelve points against a
team that's averaging thirty points conceited game.
Speaker 9 (29:45):
Could that be Could that be the nine to six
or the one or the centers or is it just
on the half?
Speaker 8 (29:50):
Has to be the half. We sit here every every
night talking about half backs. It's the chief playmaker and
I think it's time. I think the page turn up
was the Cowboys performance that it's time now to give
galviny shop now.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Time will tell, Time will tell.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
This was always the plan. This was always the plan
from the tournament.
Speaker 7 (30:08):
It was quite controversial when they sawned in mid season,
but it was always that once Origin was over Lachland
galv was going to be.
Speaker 6 (30:14):
Quickly on the fans, I think the fans are split.
I've heard both sides from there.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
That's the fans.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
They're either fully supportive or they're fully against it.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
That's two sections passionate.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
Please'll trust me. I'll try it now.
Speaker 6 (30:28):
Journa is your key playing matchups for around eighteen Thanks
that Ossie Broadband are Yeah.
Speaker 7 (30:32):
I'll kick us off Super Saturday Lachland Galvin, the most
talked about playmaker in the competition, up against Coyle Flanagan
from the Dragons.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
So who gets the two points?
Speaker 8 (30:41):
Well, I mentioned it earlier, the Paramatta situation. I'm really
looking forward to seeing Joe as Papali. You take on
Ethan Strange at the Raiders.
Speaker 6 (30:48):
Have you hoops that you dave up? Next to the
Legends agenda with Ben Elias and Billy Moore.
