(01:16):
Opening Kickoff Podcast. Is gonna sound a little bit different.
I'm taking a little bit of a backseat this week.
The old voice is hurting a little bit. So I'm
very thankful that I got my two great co hosts
with me. And if you're wondering why my voice is hurting,
I'm fighting. Last week coached a JV game, was the

(01:40):
MC for the PEP rally at Winter's Mill, then that
night had to coach the varsity game. Turned around Monday
in the Tropical System coaching a JV game. So the
voice is just not it's not great right now. So
we're kind of powering through some things. So I got
my guys Peyton Gerad and Kevin Pierce here with me.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Kp uh. You guys get to be the captain on
the ship tonight.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Yeah, I'm excited, more so Peyton's being the captain. I'm
kind of just here vibbing out, but I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Yes, I'm also excited. And since I am the captain,
we're gonna ask are you doing anything gargling any salt water?
Are you doing any you know, lozenges?

Speaker 5 (02:21):
What are you doing to stay refreshed with the voice?

Speaker 4 (02:24):
There also another fallow up to that are you renowned
in Winter's Mill High School as the guy.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
With the voice?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
It seems like the voice is needed constantly.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Uh for starters.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Uh, some cough drops a lot of fluids, trying to
just keep it, keep it fresh, keep the voice from
being too dry, because that's that's been the biggest problem
in the last two days, as it dries out on
me and then I sound like a six year old
smoker that doesn't have much time left on this earth.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
It's a lot of people at Winter's Mill, though, you'd
fit right in. That's kind county.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
There, you got it, And I have in a way
become the voice because everybody knows me as the guy
that interviewed Peyton Manning.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Mmmm. So is that is?

Speaker 4 (03:11):
That is tough?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I mean, I mean there's worse things to be known for.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
So there's a lot of speaking engagements at the school
that now I'm doing because of the fact that, oh,
you interviewed Peyton Manning from your car.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
So yeah, the voice, it would be.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Go ahead and making sure that you are compensated for
said speaking engagements.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
You already know that, okay answer, So I don't. I'm
gonna just refrain from answering that question.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I was also gonna better be up man, that's.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Yeah, it's gotta go up. I was gonna say if
you too bad Winter, Welcome in, David Miles. Other guys
are other co host here. David, you're joining in here late,
so you're just gonna have to play along, Dave, David,
Dave steinwel to you. Uh do you think if winner
smell was like the population size of like five hundred,
that we could get like a sign that said uh

(04:06):
hosted Peyton Manning on a podcast once like underneath it,
like one of those like that's your guys claim to fame?

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Probably okay, all right, if.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I had I guess there's some some bigger claims of
fame than me.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Can't be too many, can I don't know one?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
So when we get off Mike, because no free promo, Dave,
I got some pro tips to keep the voice nice
and buttery U going going throughout because that's someone who
my brother coined the term I suffered from shut the
fuck up a titus from vocal overuse. So once I
get that figured out, look who has a headset and

(04:44):
a microphone is David Miles? Yes it is podcast.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Finally looks like you finally got to a barber, finally
got make.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
He got to make it is?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
I mean that has to be the first cutting months.

Speaker 6 (04:58):
It has formost. I had to cut last month and
I had to get a cut this. I had to
get a cut last week because Sunday cam Dem was Christen.
So I can't be out there looking like a bum.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
So I thanks.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Yes. So it was a great night and uh it
was a fun time seeing everybody and uh, yeah, here
we are.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
I was gonna ask if that was your first cut
since you became a father. This is this is awful.
This is awful radio. I'm sorry for the audio.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Make it sound like you looked like I would have
cut at least once a month. Jesus Christ, guys.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
I mean, listen, bro, I mean we're all waiting for
the big, big chop, but we're just we're just gonna
go wa.

Speaker 6 (05:38):
Yeah, I'm getting close.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
I'm getting when both of our daves decided to go
on to uh to go to come on home, just
go ahead, come on home, just go all.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
I'm gonna say to that is as long as I
keep the beard. I have been told I will be
a single man if I ever trimmed this beard. So
like the beard, like if I ever shaved the beard,
you will I will be a single man.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
It's just what I have been told.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
So the hair is gonna last as long as I can,
because I don't know if the beard is gonna look
great without the hair on top.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
And that's what about to say. Both of you have beards,
so like if you do chop, if you do chop
the top, you'll be fine as a babyface. Man, I'll
just look sick. So like, I gotta let these locks
rock for as long as possible, and to devoid and
to avoid Derek Henry disease all back.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
You know that's a that is we're gonna talk football,
We're gonna segue here. I haven't been able to stop
thinking about that since you said that like four weeks ago,
and I just every week I'm like, dude, the locks.
He was right. It's just like it's and no one's
talking about it. It is. I've not I haven't even
heard like a like a TikTok or anything. I think

(06:47):
you should trademark that, like I don't know, like locks
left or I don't know what you want to do.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
I don't know the fact it's because I love y'all
that I left it as an opening kickoff podcast exclusive,
and I haven't made a video about it any other time.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
But make it, thank you.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
But Derrick Henry has not ran for more than fifty
yards outside of the opening game the entire season. And
that's because the Bill's defense, as we all know, is horrid.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Yeah, it's fact.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Yeah, Dereck Henry, come on, man, Like I may tell
you a joke, I never tell you a lie. Like
cut cut it cut into locks man. It has dangerous ramifications.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Yes, yes, I agree. And speaking of the Bills, Brandon
Stevens again will not be able to make it. It's
gonna become it's we're gonna become the Matt Damon of
like the Jimmy Kimmel Show. Sorry, we ran out of time.
Brandon Stevens couldn't make it tonight kind of thing. It's
just gonna be a long gooing thing. But he's still
a part of this. Gonna talk about football volunteer all Yeah,

(07:44):
he's he's volunteering.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Goddamn.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
But uh, we're gonna transition here. We're gonna get into football.
We're gonna start off in college. We didn't really get
to it last time. But a lot of stuff, a
lot of the big news has happened, a lot of
moves happened. James franklin firing the biggest thing that's probably
been talked about this week that I've seen from that universe.
I'll start with David pa pa adjacent resident. What are

(08:10):
you hearing on the streets?

Speaker 5 (08:11):
What do we got?

Speaker 6 (08:11):
What do you like?

Speaker 5 (08:13):
Penn State adjacent for them?

Speaker 6 (08:16):
So for the first and foremost, I root for them
because they're there, because they have the biggest team in
the state. But the city of Pavania does not hurt
when Penn State loses because if Penn State wins a championship,
there's no parade in the city. Pittsburgh is an hour closer.
Pittsburgh might have more to say than we do, but
they have their on college. Back to Franklin, I think
you look at Franklin's record over the last decade. I mean, yes,

(08:39):
he has a piss pour piss poor record against ranked teams.
I mean the mainly has what two wins against ranked
teams ten And I love the quote that they had.
I forget which coach it was where he was talking
about how James Franklin three years ago was loved and
on college game day and now he's fired.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
But Kesey and who said that one.

Speaker 6 (09:05):
I'm pretty sure it was, but I didn't want to say.
I didn't want to say the wrong name. But it
goes to the point of a lot of people don't
understand that Penn State has not won a game that's
important in years, and now you put them in a
position to where a coach now has he has to
fight that. He has to fight that and you have
to take whatever you get when you lose the Northwestern

(09:26):
like like like if you lose the Ohio State. That's
one thing everybody understands. Michigan understood Northwestern. I that's that's
that's the strong about the Camel's back city of Philadelphia,
the state of Pennsylvania. We all thank him for his service.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
We're looking for better, Okay, KP, what do we think?

Speaker 3 (09:48):
I think the last time we spoke about James Franklin Peyton,
you and David kind of hit it on the head
about Penn State and their expectations. You're Joe pots that
about he averaged seven wins a year and Dave talking
about Penn State. Gotta be real about the type of
program they are. You're not a blue blood. You're at
best the third team and third best team in your
own conference, and shit, this year you might be the fifth. Like,

(10:10):
you gotta generous, you gotta be realistic about your expectations
as a team. So firing a coach who has had
the success that James Franklin's had because we're not gonna
act like he hasn't been successful relatively. He's got a
conference championship exactly. And but here's the thing, though, if
you're James Franklin and you're gonna lose the big games,

(10:31):
you can't lose the gummes. Yeah, and he lost two
gimmes in a row, and that will be your undoing.

Speaker 6 (10:39):
I will shoot him the I will shoot the little
bit of bail that I do when it comes to
that UCLA as in UCLA had literally nothing to lose
and on a fresh new system. So these are just
kids out there going out there having fun. Big at
the team that Lily just got crushed on national TV
and the Lake game slot and now and now you

(11:00):
got to rebound from that. I will shoot them that
bail of that's a very tough hurdle to get over.
I won't shoot them bail for how bad Drew drew
A lewis playing, though. That's garbage, but as far as
it's done for.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
The year, also also the worst tanked, the worst decision
maybe ever to return to play your senior year. Like
it just it's falling apart.

Speaker 6 (11:25):
Yeah, I mean I I usually support the people who
want to who want to get their education, but for me, yeah,
you buddy, you tanked your you tank any you take.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Your ass to I C d C College into online
classes while you're a number one over what ed education
would probably would have been the number one pick.

Speaker 6 (11:47):
I don't think it would be number one, but you definite
would have been top ten.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
He would he would have pressed cam Ward last year.

Speaker 6 (11:52):
Guys, I don't think you do.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
I have to do I have to be Do I
have to be that guy early in the podcast? Do
I actually that guy early in the podcast? Very well
could if they had the choice between drafting Drew Holler
and drafting cam Ward's black ass. You know exactly what
it took.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
First.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
It's tennessee, like, let's see, let's I think.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
That I think that uh, that's I think Jackson Dart
would have got picked after him.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
Nermind go ahead, Yeah, yeah, Jacksons Dart wasn't gonna No.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
That was the most glaring indictment of Jackson dart Is.
Oh they picked you at twenty Yeah, yeah, I mean Grant.
I mean we're not at NFL yet. We'll save the draft.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
We will definitely be talking about the Giants and the
Philadelphia Okay, great, let's stay well, let's stay Dollege.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Then do we get Dave style?

Speaker 5 (12:46):
I want to get his thoughts here real quick.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Go for it, Dave.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
I mean, I feel like, if you're Penn State, this
is two years too late. Like we've known the struggles
of James Franklin and Penn State for a while. You've
always been a weak sister into Big ten. It's always
been Ohio State, Michigan. Now you add in Oregon, and

(13:09):
then it was Penn State in Indiana.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Well, Indiana.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Now we're gonna get to that.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
But it like.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
You try to stick with a guy because of the
relevance and James Franklin made Penn State relevant, and let's
not overlook he did do a great job in getting
Penn State to this point, building Penn State back into
the national conversation, in national prominence. But he was never
gonna be the guy that could get you over that

(13:40):
hump and get you the national championship, and I felt
like the last couple of years, those signs were there.
And in this day and age in college football, if
you're late, you're gonna get passed by everybody.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
And that's just where Penn State was. Now.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
The other thing that I think happen and is they
lose to Oregon, and I think you had a lot
of guys on that roster start to go, oh, here
we go. We're the same old Penn State. And I
think the win got taken out of their sales and
they've had a hard time bouncing back. And then you
get and the worst one, The worst was you could

(14:20):
lose one of those two games. But after Ucla you
can just see the win completely sucked out of their sale.
And then you get Aller gets hurt against Northwestern, and
I mean you could just see a team that's just like,
what are we playing for? Like we weren't going to
make the College Football Playoff because of that Ucla loss.

(14:40):
Now we just lost our starting quarterback, Like, what are
we playing for? And if you're James Franklin, I'll be
totally honest, there's a part of you that's going, hey,
I'm getting fifty million dollars and I don't have to
coach this sinking ship the rest.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Of the way.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Yes, yeah, like that.

Speaker 6 (14:54):
Team is folding to me, Yes, folding, they folded, It's over,
they stay Northwestern staple debtfold closed like it's done.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
He does have to go get a job. That was
part of his contract that he has to active. It
seemed like unemployed. Basically, he had to prove that he
was actively looking for a head coaching or broadcasting job,
any school job.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
No, it has So that was my question when I
got there.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
I didn't think I didn't think about that.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
But does he have to take whatever job is offered
to him?

Speaker 4 (15:29):
I think it is that he has to take something.
It's a percentage of the salary that he would be
earning or something like that. So I mean it have
to be like Virginia Tech or somewhere, which I think
it'll probably be Virginia Tech.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
I think it just makes more sense.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Like he I feel like he's rebuilt some stuff. So
I think that that was probably Also you lose top five,
top twenty five matches to Virginia Tech. To'll be like,
you know what, you tried?

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Like you I have my guess as to where he'll
be where do you think next year? And uh, it
might be biased because this place is fifteen minutes for
me and the coach is still employed there. Sorry, coach Locks,
you keep losing some games, buddy. I didn't believe that
the league Washington's going to be coached by James Franklin

(16:16):
next year. And if you're James Franklin, you already have
the tidewater tide water and Maryland ties. You're running and
grabbing that job.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
Yeah, and it turned into college football twenty six.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
I did see people want that it would make sense.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
I mean it was he hasn't likely hasn't done like great,
he's done Okay, it's just like not been a full turnaround.
He could easily get a job somewhere else, like being
a coordinator. Again.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
The thing Locks did was re establishing their relationship with
Maryland High schools because it was bad, Like again from
someone from someone who's from here. It was bad. All
the best players, with the exception of literally it was
Stefan Diggs and then like the other that was.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
Randy Etzel though that wasn't even Dirkin. Dirkin ruined everything.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Yeah, like Dirkin really threw everything out of one though,
but like literally even beyond that, like it was like
Vernon Davis and then big ass Gap Stefan Diggs, big
ass gap again. Locke shows up. Now they're getting Maryland
high school talent again.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
I agree. Yeah, So actually.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
James Franklin was taking a lot of that high school
talent de Penn State. So if he comes to Maryland,
he don't really got to established no new relationships.

Speaker 6 (17:31):
They all they all de committed from Penn State though, So.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Yeah, I will say James Franklin, for what it's worth,
is a very good recruiter. He was very good at that.
He got guys in place, did they They didn't. They
didn't win some games with those guys, but they I mean,
I think also the first round draft picks that he's
turned out has also saved his job tremendously of saying, hey,
I do produce these guys.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
They're going high value. So I think that's helped them.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
But yeah, the mayor, I did see the Maryor thing,
and it didn't he were he was starting. People want
to do the whole McConaughey, sometimes you gotta go back then.
And I just saw like this old picture of him,
and I was like, Wow, I forgot he was there.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Well, and that I will say That's my only caveat though,
is does he still have hurt feelings that when Ralph
Frigin stepped down he didn't get the job because that,
like that was the only reason he ended up going
to Penn State. Was it was a given everybody thought
that he was gonna get it is. But I I

(18:35):
just wonder if that doesn't linger in him and maybe
keep him from taking the Maryland job if it becomes available.
And that I mean, that's a big if because I
like where if you're Maryland, you can't stack up in
the Big ten.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
You just can't. You're not built to play Big ten football. Wait,
hold on, plain and simple.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
But why not wait hold on?

Speaker 6 (19:00):
But to it to you point, why would you then
bring me the guy who couldn't do that at Penn State?

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Because you you hope he steals some recruits that he
is able to actually be that guy.

Speaker 6 (19:10):
But he's your recruits, Yeah, like your pipeline. So let's
kind of bring him in and he can't do that
up there with more resources, How is he gonna do
any better at your school?

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Let's clarify Dave's statement just a little bit in the trenches.
They haven't been able to compete in the Big ten because,
let's face it, Midwesterners don't want to come to super
liberal Maryland. Let's just keep let's just keep it a band.
When it comes to skill players, you don't really have
to leave the DMV for that. Like you could pretty
stay in the area and be able to compete just

(19:42):
fine with Big ten talent. I do think the more
interesting question of all this is who replaces James Franklin
at Penn State.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
Yeah, this is gonna be by next thing.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
We're gonna talk about Indiana here, And I heard people
say two biggest names out sign Matt Rule. I want
to go there because it would be so funny because
Dylan Rayola would one hundred percent go, he would transfer. Oh,
I would love it. It'd be the cringiest Penn State
team of all time. He I mean he he just

(20:16):
turned programs around too. You have success doing it except
in the NFL. But the question was Signetti going there? Right?
I don't think that's a better situation than Indiana. I
think Indiana's a far better spot.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
It's a it's a better spot because Signetti made it like,
if you're Signetti, why would you take that job? Like, yes,
you're gonna be the King Hoosier for the rest of
your life.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
You have money there too, You got a lot of
the money.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
All you gotta do is win one playoff game. They
may fucking around build you a statue. And you're talking
about going.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Take that Bobby night ship down.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Yeah, brou like that. And you want to go to
a Penn state why, Like for what?

Speaker 5 (20:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (20:58):
The only reason I heard, Well, people keep saying the
Western Pa Ties, but every coach ever is from Western Pa.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
Like you could say.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
That about anybody, like, oh, they grew up there, like
they haven't lived there for like thirty some years or whatever. Right,
And it's like the only other thing I heard was
you don't have to split the nil money with basketball
and all that other shit. You get the whole. You
get about eighty percent of that pot. And you know
he has to split it a little bit with the
basketball in Indiana. But I bet you still it's probably

(21:30):
pretty attractive. It has to be attractive because of what
they're doing. So I don't I don't know. I don't
see why Signetti would even entertain the idea, especially after
beating Oregon and beating them convincingly. Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
I think Matt Rules the name to think.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
About Matt Nor makes a lot more sense.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
He's best friends with the AD. They go on vacation together,
which is crazy to think about.

Speaker 6 (21:55):
So I remember Rule when he was at Temple, and
I forgot that he was there for Temple's best years
because I know that Temple was really struggling and then
they had al Gold and they had a little bit
successful with him, and then they folded again and then
they brought a Matt Rule and I believe he was
wasn't the I believe he was the coach that coached
that that uh that Temple team that played in that

(22:18):
played North Carolina, not No Noter Dame and then and
then that game it was like college game. It was year.
And so if you can bring that energy to Penn State,
I mean, hey, anything could happen. But I need a
coach who I mean, I don't even really need a
coach because I'm not a Penn State fan. Like that.
They can win, they can lose. I don't really care
if Temple turns it around. That Hama invested, they went,

(22:41):
they went.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
He was there for four years. They went two and ten,
six and six, ten and four, ten and three, they
went to two Bowls as last year. Then he went
to Baylor.

Speaker 6 (22:51):
Yep, they went with that.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
The Baylor turnaround was crazy because they got all those sanctions.
They went one and eleven seven seven, and then they
went eleven and three and launched the Sugar Bowl. And
then now he's at Nebraska, which is also trending the same,
the same kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
That would be like the only negative, like do you
want to finish the job at Nebraska quote unquote to
like you turn around like you're he does.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
Get like do this thing like he leaves after this
third fourth year and doesn't see it all the way through,
and it's like, I kind of want to see what
it would be like if you finish this out, Like what,
let's see what you can if you can bring this
back to tom Osborn't all that.

Speaker 5 (23:32):
I don't know, Dave, what are your thoughts?

Speaker 1 (23:35):
I My thing with Signetti is I'm gonna ask this question,
and is it a little bit of a downgrade right
now to be going to Penn State if you leave
from Indiana?

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Because here's why.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
What a question you're going If.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
You're Signetti, you're going to Penn State because of the
university and the name, right like you, you're going there
because you want to be in conversation with the Joe
Paturno's and that legacy of Penn State football.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
What kind of legacy.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
Well, careful, I'm not going there. It's not fully going there.
I'm talking football. You took it down that rabbit hole.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Whatever.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Besides the point what you've done in Indiana right now,
because we're about to talk about Indiana and the consensus
and what I feel is Indiana is a national title team.
Penn State not a national title team, hasn't been a
national title team. So right now, if you're Kurt Signetti,
I think you're taking a bit of a step back

(24:38):
to go from Indiana to Penn State. If you're Matt Rule,
this is the job for you. There's no not going
to be another job that fits Matt Rule the rest
of his coaching career more than the fact that Penn
State is open. And if you're Penn State, I think
you gotta go all in and try to get Matt
Rule because I don't think you're gonna be able to

(24:59):
convince at Signetti, I really don't m.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
The only way they'd be able to convince Signetti is
if they write him a check. They gonna have to
pay him so much they got to put him all
lay away to quote un crime.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
No, they just got to write a blank check and
say we'll give you whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Like, that's the only way I.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Think you get Kurt Signetti because he's been able to
win with the transfer portal at Indiana. Now, he's been
able to the recruiting numbers are great for him at
Indiana this year. So you've built a program that hasn't
had this level of success in a long time to

(25:37):
now where we're gonna sit there and look at Indiana
and say it's Ohio State and then it's Indiana. It's
one in one a Like, there's nothing to me that
says Indiana can't go toe to toe with Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
I agree this year, Yeah, I.

Speaker 6 (25:55):
Think to the to that point, I think when it
comes to looking at the Penn State job, yes, writing
in a blank check is how you're gonna is not
It's not gonna be the only thing because Penn State
has the resource to pay you whatever you want. It's
a matter if you're going there because, yes, the brand,
but also you're going there because you have more resources
at a referable at a publicly known football school versus

(26:17):
you're always gonna be the little brother to the basketball team,
and even if you win a championship, you're still gonna
be a little brother to the basta.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I don't think.

Speaker 6 (26:26):
I think that that's the case at some schools. I
just don't see Indiana doing that off off of this
short I mean, however long the success lasts, because of
how much success that basketball team has had in its
own entire entity, you will always be a little brother
to that. I Meanwhile, you go to Penn State, you're
gonna have the You are a Penn State right there.

(26:47):
And if you can't, if you can make it work
at Indiana, there's no reason why you can't make it
work at Penn State, where you have a better opportunity
to beat those Ohio States, those Michigans, and even compete
for the national championship in contend with and well I
can't say Bam anymore, but those top dogs. You have
a very chance at Penn State no matter who you are,

(27:08):
because of Penn State. So do you want to win
or do you want to finish building what you have.
That's why I think it comes down to. And I
would respect him if he stated Indiana, But if Penn
State gave me a blank check. You've lived in the
Happy Valley? How is it over there?

Speaker 4 (27:24):
It was alright, like it was like it was okay.
I just don't I just don't look at it like that.
I just say I think he I think he's pretty
much already done it, Like he's built it. He's built
a machine now where they can just continue this, they
can ride this out. I mean, they're gonna have problems
in the Big Ten going up against Ohio State and
that for sure. Until you beat them, that's not done.

(27:47):
But like the way they played against Oregon was just
like wow, they they would have last that team last year.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
What do you think the score would have been.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
I didn't even lose by twenty one with Oregon, right conservatively, yeah,
like right, like this year, I think he's just nailed it.
He's got what he wants. He's got a quarterback, he's
got he's got a run game. He's great, like callir
all that. Like, I don't know, I.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
Think he's he's done a really good job with it.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
And I think it's just like the like, for example,
Penn State like wants to talk about they're like all
the way up here, we already said it, like they
think there are God's gift to this earth, they are
blue blood this and that they're gonna go try to
talk to Marcus Freeman. I don't think he should even
take the call. I think it'd be a ridiculous thing
to do. But like I think they in their mind

(28:40):
they think they could sell that to Marcus Freeman, that
that's the better job. They could sell that to Kurtzignetty,
And I don't think you could. I think Matt Ruhle
maybe because Nebraska's bump fucked nowhere, like that's hard to
recruit anywhere anybody there, like you know what I mean,
Like Penn State at least is like I would say,
probably ahead of Nebraska at least name wise. Now I

(29:04):
don't know. I think Matt Rule is like the guy.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
I just want to clarify, as we talked about Indiana
before we move on to the NFL, that's a good
Oregon team, Like this is not an Oregon team that
is not as good as last year's. This is a
very good Oregon team and a team that I'm gonna
be hard pressed not to pick in the playoffs, because
I do think Oregon still gets to the college football playoffs.
So keep that in mind as we talk about Indiana here.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Yeah, all right, let's transition to NFL. Let's talk about it, David,
do you want to say anything public public address? State
of the Union. Where are the Philadelphia Eagles today? Because
the Korea team whatever.

Speaker 5 (29:47):
They're fucking calling those white dudes in New York, they're just.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
York's guys though.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Yeah, I mean, I've heard exciting whites. I've heard of
the creating creatures or some shit. I've heard all the names.
What are we making us? How? How much are we
looking into this team right now?

Speaker 5 (30:04):
Is it end of the earth?

Speaker 4 (30:05):
This is bad? Okay?

Speaker 6 (30:07):
All right, and I will I will bring everyone's memory
back to my crash out after the Jacksonville game last year.
I think you need to have a time to sit
everyone the hell down, look everyone in the eyes, and
say we need to figure the shit out, because there's
no way in the world that you can have a
mini bye week and then come back next week and

(30:29):
be as flat as you were. Say whatever you want
about Thursday game. They weren't focused. You know what, everyone has,
Everyone has a fall game. Sure it's not acceptable, but
it happened. We're moving on the offensive woes. I am
not gonna take the low hanging fruit and blame Jalen,
mainly because I think that there's bigger issues on that

(30:50):
offense and the defense isn't perfect either, But yet all
the issues can be fixed. I think maybe not as
soon as we want to. Like the injuries on the
offensive line, the defense is the secondary. Don't get me started.
But I think that at the end of the day,
nothing is a our season's over kind of mentality. I

(31:11):
think that if you have maybe a couple more losses,
you know, yeah, let's have that conversation. I don't think
anyone needs to lose their job per se, but there's
definitely someone in the hot seat, and it's not seeing
It's not a Sierriani right now, but I think that
there's a needs to be a common understanding as to
what is expected, and I don't think that they've had

(31:33):
that yet. I think that that's something that they need
to have this week because what's been going on and
what they've been putting out there, has been uttered garbage.
Even when they win. We've all said they squeak out
of games. So let's get back to what we were
doing last year.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
I think the issue with the Eagles is pretty obvious
if you're looking at it. Number One, the run game
isn't the same as it was last year because, news flash,
you give your running back the million carries the year before,
he's not gonna look the same the following year, because
that's how that works. Adding the offensive line injuries and
you're not able to power the team through the running game,
especially when that's what other teams are game planning for

(32:11):
a week the week, the week because you run a
high school offense for your passing game, so they know
that's not too complex and they don't really have to
worry about it thanks to what's your name, Kevin? Kevin Patulu,
what's the name of y'all offensive coordinator?

Speaker 4 (32:24):
Fired?

Speaker 3 (32:25):
I look, I haven't, God damn it, I'm trying to
give us a bad name.

Speaker 6 (32:31):
I'm not trying to be the crash out and say
fire him because he's a first year coordinator.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Mile is you did it the last time and you
won a super Bowl the next year.

Speaker 6 (32:41):
Because weren't those also pre established coordinators?

Speaker 3 (32:44):
No, what was my man? What's my man name? Y'all
fired the last time we had this great relationship with
Jalen Hurts and he's known him since the fires ass
got him, got him right up out of there. And
on defense, y'all don't have a second y'all don't have
a second corner like and and you don't have a
first corner. Y'all don't play with Quan is not having

(33:06):
any No, no, no, no no, I'm saying right now, Okay,
Quan is not having a great second year. Cooper de
Jean is a nickel corner is a nickel corner, is
a nickel corner. So like he's he's an exciting white
but not that exciting.

Speaker 6 (33:18):
Like well, in order to have the exciting ways, you
don't have to read blanket ship. And I haven't seen
him out there doing.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Much blanken ships also having it down. You're like the
second I would say, clear issues there, but.

Speaker 6 (33:28):
I would say, like I said, the secondary, don't get
me started, because I think without Queenya Mitchell, you go,
they've been going at Dort. I'm not gonna crash out today.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
No, please do because if Dori Jackson and Killey Ringo
deserve it.

Speaker 6 (33:41):
Oh yeah, so okay, So me and me and me
and my there we go, good friends some of them.
We're talking. We're texting the whole game, both games, actually
the last couple of games. And have y'all noticed it?
Anytime a defense and offense passes, they go always go
at number seven, right, they do the whole time.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
That's what I do.

Speaker 6 (33:59):
One time and one time, not one time? Did you
at all help him? Now one time? Did you at
all get him out the game? Or did you at
all get any pressure? Yes, the front five. I'm also
holding you accountable for the lack of pressure. But that's
not what we're talking about. We're talking about the fact
that the secondary has been Swiss Gee's Swiss cheese for

(34:20):
the last couple of weeks and that's how we end
up getting smacked. It blows my mind how we could
be so we could see it and be like, you
know what, we're gonna bring them back because this was
the issue they had last year. It's the issue they
had before, and it's annoying when you let your whole
secondary leave, you let your whole defense leave, and free

(34:41):
agency and now we have to sit here and deal
with the people who were their backups because you had
so much faith in them, and we told you last
year they aren't starters. You saw it, they weren't starters.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
And what did you do?

Speaker 6 (34:54):
You made them a starter? And now did you make
them a starter? They now are are reflection of your
defense because you set your front five went all healthy
and their heads in the game and not doing dumb shit.
Can do you well, they can do everything well, but
that's secondary. My god, Quinnyon, you need other help other
than Adorri Jackson Killey Ringo, because that's not doing it

(35:17):
at all.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
So I decided to hop on the old PFF machine
because I was curious about our guy Killey Ringo and
just how he's been looking this year. And I know
PFF grades people can take it or leave it. But
last game against the New York Football Giants, your man
had a coverage score of twenty nine, and it felt

(35:40):
like it e free time you looked around. Your man
has three defended passes this whole season. Wait, no, I'm
sorry one pass rig of this entire season. I miss
red the grade in one hundred and sixty two possible snaps,
Bro Missuet made it look better like bro, like bro.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
And the issue is the issue is if you want
I know you guys didn't watch preseason Eagles preseason, but
I did in every game, but in the first three drives,
even from the Bengals game, and I watched Joe Burrow
slice them up like it was like it was Ninja's
like what the Ninja fruit game? Because they were just
so bad and it was so evident then and they're
to say that these guys are competing for these cute

(36:27):
for the CB two spot, and then you like, what
are we talking about? People like you and I in
hindsight can be whatever. Because SLIVEH is not having a
great year.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
TJJ is bead hanging out.

Speaker 6 (36:41):
He was doing what he was doing with us, but
yes us, we were winning because he was always in
the right spot.

Speaker 5 (36:47):
Better than James Pearce. I'll tell you what that guy sucks.

Speaker 4 (36:49):
When I see forty two and the Steelers go out,
I know that guy is about to give up a.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
Pass I got or penalty.

Speaker 6 (36:56):
So you have to do that once. I have to
watch that on two sides the ball on Sunday, Okay,
so yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
And Jalen Ramsey, just.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Your your teams are not one in five quick pitching, all.

Speaker 6 (37:11):
Right, I have the right to pitch because we're the
ones who should be competing for a Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
Well, that's true.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
That might that might have been the dumbest comment you've
ever had. Literally, the Ravens were Super Bowl favorites.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
They were my super Bowl pick and more.

Speaker 6 (37:30):
We have a more realistic viewpoint of getting We have
a more We have a better path to there than
you do. So I haven't read there.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah, no, ship, You're not one in five.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
That's the That might be the easy, easiest statement to
make of all time. We have an easier pat Yeah,
you got more than one goddamn win.

Speaker 6 (37:50):
So I should want to be able to fix my
team more so I can continue to get to the game.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
He said you should give up, Dave, He said you
should just quit.

Speaker 6 (38:00):
So I'm just saying I have more reason to do
that with the Eagles I do the Ravens.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
That's quality instigating by Peyton, Right, that's top tier instigation.
But off, no bullshit. I don't want to see Lamar
Jackson again for the rest of the year. Go ahead,
pack it up, go ahead. Send John Harball pagging, like
you know.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
He's playing, And honestly, I would be totally honest with you,
I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens don't somehow make
it into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
I mean, the Ravens are winning five right now.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
Their schedule is very light in the second half of
the season.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
Is Mar gonna play Sunday next week?

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Yes, The word is that he'll be back when they
play Chicago. They play Chicago, they play Miami. Their hardest games,
like the.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
Defense would get them.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
Better at who against who? The Bears. Baby, if they
were able to do decent against the Rams, I think
they'll be fine against the Bears.

Speaker 4 (38:53):
I think the Rams kind of walked in there. I
saw they literally practice of cam yards.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
That's when they're going over to London.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Someone objectively hilarious.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
Someone edited the score of the game and they took
out the Ravens logo.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
It said seventeen to three against the Orioles.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Alright, watch it because I was at a couple of
those Oriole games this year when it was seventeen to three, I.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
Know it felt really good. I was like, that's stopped tier.
But I've never.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Left baseball games faster in my life than when it
was twenty to nothing in one and in the fifth inning,
I went, all right.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
This is just ugly to watch in the fifth.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
But let's make the oils were bad this year.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
It's been a rough, rough year for Baltimore sports, and
we have nothing else to look forward to here, so
we just all want to go drink draino cocktails.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Hold on now, before now, before you send yourself to
the upper room, Let's let's map this off at the
Ravens here, right, they're one in five, they're one to
five right now, Let's say nine and eight gets you
the six or seventh spot to make it to the playoffs.
That's what eight and four the rest of the way,

(40:00):
eight and three, eight and three the rest of the way.
So is that possible with the schedule? You get a
healthy Lamar Jackson back, Eventually your defensive starters will return
from injury. Maybe they'll be back after the bow week two.
Who knows? Is it? Is it possible? Because sorry, Peyton,

(40:20):
I still don't believe in your Steelers. I probably I
probably won't until they inevitably make the playoffs again with
ten wins.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
I'm not gonna lie though, I'm starting to think that
that whenever, you guys is gonna matter more than anyone
would have ever thought ever.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
And I hate it, Yeah, because we didn't deserve it. Yeah,
just gave gave up the booty five times in the
red zone and well play.

Speaker 4 (40:43):
Let me.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
Let me run through the Ravens schedule and you, you guys,
tell me before we pick this week's games, where do
you think it's even realistic that the Ravens could win
eight games with what's left.

Speaker 4 (40:55):
I'm also gonna assume Lamar Jackson's playing when we do that.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Yeah, let's assume. Let's assume Lamar's back. Brokwond Smith is back,
Ronnie Stanley is healthy. They play the Bears at home.
They're at Miami, at Minnesota, at Cleveland, home for the Jets,
home for the Bengals on Thanksgiving home for the Steelers,
at Cincinnati, home for the Patriots, at green Bay at Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
I count four losses. I count the cost of the Vikings.
Y'all are gonna split with Pittsburgh. You're gonna lose to us.
And let's see, I heard it was one of the
Packers and the Packers. Yeah, I counted four losses, so
it might be like exact, It might be eight and nine,
eight and nine, nine and eight. One of those may

(41:41):
be a toss up.

Speaker 4 (41:42):
I think that last game at Pittsburgh's gonna mean something
differently it has the last couple of years, like we
might actually get to put Mason Rudolph. That would be
a nice change, But it doesn't mean anything for us.

Speaker 3 (41:54):
Christ Almighty. The fact that Mason Rudolph is still at
Pittsburgh Steeler boggles my mind.

Speaker 4 (41:59):
He wasn't last year. It's amazing he got to come back.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
Mike Tomlin just can't quit him. Man.

Speaker 4 (42:04):
He yeah, I don't know what.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
He must have immaculate lives to everyone, but Miles Garrett,
like you have the.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
Greatest, I said, he must be like tom And people
joked that Toman wanted his version of Bill Coward's Charlie Batch.

Speaker 5 (42:18):
And this is this version he got.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
He's like, how you doing, coach, And he's like, all right,
I like your I like the cut of your jip
or whatever the hell.

Speaker 5 (42:25):
People said, yeah, whatever.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
But I see four. I count four losses for the
Ravens there. Maybe they steal one of those, maybe they
drop one of the ones they should win.

Speaker 4 (42:36):
But yeah, I said, I'm not counting the Ravens out.
So I see seven losses out on there, that's fair.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
I mean it's possible.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Yes, And we've seen and we've seen them have those
types of stretches before where they rattle all five or
six consecutive wins. Of course, but they're gonna like they've
given themselves no margin for error. And that's the thing
that we haven't seen with these Raven teams in the pastes.
They put themselves back themselves into such a corner that

(43:10):
one more stumble and it's over.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
And that very quickly.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
And that's how you end up playing on the road
against the Bills in the playoffs instead of playing at home.

Speaker 4 (43:19):
I tell you what.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
That's how that ends up happening.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
This is not being a homer when I say this.

Speaker 1 (43:25):
If they somehow make it to the playoffs, that will
be the most scary team in.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
There because because for.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
The first time, they will not have any pressure of
being a top seed with expectations, because everybody's just jumped
off the bandwagon, and they're going to come in and
be the old Raven dangerous team that you're like, shit,
we gotta play the Ravens in January again.

Speaker 3 (43:51):
And they'd have to get so hot to make the playoffs.
They'd be the hottest team in the playoffs. That's not
something you want to see coming into your door.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
No, no, not at all.

Speaker 3 (44:01):
That's not something you want. All right, we can move
on to the games next week. What games did we
say that we were going to preview?

Speaker 5 (44:07):
Well, we could go Bucks lines. We could start there.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
Oh, a nice little NFC Championship preview.

Speaker 5 (44:13):
Right here, Monday night football it is.

Speaker 4 (44:17):
Everyone want to guess the spread? It is in Detroit on?

Speaker 3 (44:24):
No way, I gotta unless that's disrespectful to the Bucks.
I got Detroit by two and a half.

Speaker 7 (44:29):
Okay, David, and you guess, uh give me Tampa by
two scores.

Speaker 4 (44:40):
Tampa Bay is a five and a half point dog
right now?

Speaker 2 (44:44):
Really take that, keV, take that.

Speaker 4 (44:46):
I was on the money, well a Mecca and Buka
is out, so I mean, obviously.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
Does it matter.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
I don't know. Making me feel that third down run
it was just like, I mean, what do you say
about the guy? He just doesn't quit. He just is
a gamer, the definition of a fucking gamer.

Speaker 3 (45:06):
I love how Peyton turned to Chris collins Worth. Just
now he's just.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
Now, here's the guy.

Speaker 4 (45:12):
Now here's the guy. They quit on him. They don't
want you don't want to quit on this guy. He's
got a lot of heart. Yeah, no he I don't know,
just Baker Mayfield fucking the man.

Speaker 3 (45:25):
And so I do think Tampa drops this game though
they could.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
Yeah, just too.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
Many and this is where too many injuries. You're going
to Detroit. Detroit might be the best team in football. Like,
it's kind of this is a tough one. You dropped
this one, and hopefully you're healthy come January when you
got to go back to Detroit and try to win one.

Speaker 4 (45:46):
I will say, Mike Jevans may play. That is they
talked about that today. The potential of that. I don't
know if that moves the Neil for anybody.

Speaker 6 (45:54):
So are we just discarding that the performance to Detroit's head.

Speaker 4 (46:00):
Oh, I'm not looking into that too much.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
But in fairness, the Lions have been a little more
jecky and hide this year. At times.

Speaker 1 (46:11):
They have not looked they have not looked as dominant
as they have in prior in the last couple of years.
And again some of that as you lost your two coordinators.
They have a lot of injuries or offensive line I
don't think is as good. And Tampa's got a good
d line, Like we talk about Tampa Bay and it
starts with Baker Mayfield. But that defense has played a

(46:32):
lot better than I think everybody expected them to. I
think Tampa finds a way to win because that's just
how the Buccaneers have played all year.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
I don't think it's any.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
Sort of reflection of the Lions as much as it's
if Baker's there. Tampa finds ways to win these games.
I just you don't know how they do it. They're
not It's not like, Okay, they're the most dominant team
in football, but they just find ways to win games.

Speaker 3 (46:59):
I think we're forgetting that. The last time the Lions
lost this year, they scored fifty points the next week. Yeah,
this isn't Alliance team that's gonna lose too straight at
least from what I'm seeing. I'm not saying they put
a fifty burger on the Bucks. That's a lot to say,
But I do think this is the time where the
Baker Lake game heroics. I think it's just a little

(47:20):
too much to ask against the team that they are
outgunned against. This week.

Speaker 4 (47:24):
Mm hmm, I could see that. I mean the one
thing also to your point of fifty points, Baker may
be able to score fifty two somehow, no idea how,
but just seemingly that's the games they play. But yeah,
I mean the Bucks are it feels like they're playing
on borrow time a little bit with the injuries they've gotten,
I mean, Sterling Shepherd, the fact that they were, like

(47:44):
Sterling Shepherd, Baker Mayfield's college receiver out there. I was like, fuck,
I forgot they played in college together. I forgot Sterling
Shepherd was even in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (47:53):
Baker been in a league damn near a decade at
this point. Yeah, it's kind of college.

Speaker 4 (47:57):
Yeah, it's kind of crazy, like how it's like flown by.
But I do agree Detroit at home too. I think
it's I want to call it a get right game
for them, but they're they'll they'll be very focused.

Speaker 5 (48:08):
I think going into this, I would I would.

Speaker 3 (48:13):
They need a signature win too, because their only quote
unquote big win was the Ravens game, and that win
is looking funny into light now, so like they need
their other two signature games were against the Packers and
the Chiefs and they lost both of them. They need it,
they need a win, and they got the Vikings the
following week. They need to rattle these next two off

(48:33):
and we're gonna start taking them seriously. The super Bowl
contender again. Give me the lines.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
Yeah, I agree with it. Also, I don't Here's the
one thing I never understand about the lines. Like I
get Amon Ras, like I mean, the guy there, but
like they just they just don't use Jamison Williams enough
for my liking. Like you have this.

Speaker 5 (48:52):
Massive, deep threat, speedster guy.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
It just feels like they never utilize every Maybe if
maybe it's a problem they have so many weapons they
don't know how to use them all kind of thing,
But like it just doesn't make sense to me why,
Like some games are on Raw day, some days are
Jamior Gibbs day, others Monte David Montgomery day. It just
never seems like it's Jamison Williams day often.

Speaker 5 (49:15):
I don't know if that makes sense to anybody.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
James and Williams is also incredibly inconsistent as a player
that probably has a lot.

Speaker 4 (49:21):
But I feel like if you give him more targets
like that, might you know, I don't know, would I.

Speaker 3 (49:25):
Rather give the targets to the inconsistent guy. Would I
rather give it to probably the most reliable receiver in
the league in Ahma Roth Saint Brown or.

Speaker 4 (49:32):
Or you could get they can become a reliable receiver
on Peyton's dynasty team, I mean the Lions team.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
There, there we go, Okay, we found the motivation.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
There is this fucking guy Gainst me too.

Speaker 5 (49:48):
Oh my god, damn it, fucking catch the ball.

Speaker 3 (49:51):
There it is there, I found it, all right.

Speaker 4 (49:54):
Uh, the only other real game. We'll go through this
quick because we have to. We have a trial we
want to do here real quick. In the Chargers potential
fraud Bowl or potential don't know, it could be potential.
They're both good. I'm not.

Speaker 5 (50:07):
I'm not quite sure to.

Speaker 4 (50:08):
What to make of it.

Speaker 5 (50:09):
I think the Colts are good. I just have gotten
that point.

Speaker 4 (50:12):
I think they're like, yeah, I do, I actually do.
I think it's like very it's don't flashy about it.
Jon and Taylor's great. Their line is healthy. Daniel Jones,
I'll knock on what for him isn't making mistakes, which
is probably a good thing, which is why he looks
as well as he is. Their defense is making plays.

(50:33):
I don't think they've played anybody too tough, which is
where the fraud park comes in. But I don't know
they're they're dominating teams that are bad, and that's what
you're supposed to do when you play bad teams. So
I don't know. I kind of like I like Indianapolis here,
especially Chargers. I think I don't know they they probably
should have lost on some day.

Speaker 5 (50:53):
That sack he got Herbert got out of was ridiculous.
Couldn't believe that might be.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
Now I'm a cast as a Herbert hater.

Speaker 4 (51:02):
Okay, I thought you.

Speaker 5 (51:02):
Were about to say Herbert truth. It's either one or
the other.

Speaker 3 (51:05):
Yeah, Like I'm cast as a Herbert hater because excuse me,
I like my quarterbacks that win games. That might be
the best playoffve seen him make of his entire career,
because they're just saying it was crazy, like the breakout,
the breakout, the sack, and then hit that perfect side
arm to lab mccackey that was insane. Like I watched
it in the moment and I was like, Oh, that's
the quarterback y'all been telling me exists for all these years.

(51:26):
Got it? Yeah, Yeah, it's amazing how much better it
looks going to win. But with this game, man, it's
tough for me be.

Speaker 4 (51:36):
To you.

Speaker 3 (51:37):
I mean, that's like the worst home field advantage in
the league, respectively.

Speaker 4 (51:40):
But I just always look at you gotta travel west.
It's what I always think.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
You do, Gotta travel west. And as much as right
and as much as I don't believe in Justin Herbert,
I don't believe in dani or Jones even more. But
the Chargers have so many injuries in the trenches that
especially on the on the defensive side of the ball.
To So if you're looking at oh, Jonathan Taylor, who's
the leading rusher in the league, is coming into town,

(52:06):
and the Colts pass rush is bolstered by their back seven,
but they're able to make make it work a little bit.
Gets at the passer, They're gonna look a lot better
than he usually do. This week. It's hard not to
pick the Colts this week. It's difficult. So I'm gonna
have to go at Indianapolis.

Speaker 4 (52:20):
Yeah. Oh. I also think Shane Siken's done a good
job and a year that he needed to have a
good year, like there was he couldn't do. He couldn't
do six and what out six and eleven? He couldn't
do that. He'd be out of there because her daughters
are on that ship. She'd be she got. I don't

(52:41):
know if anyone seen her. She's got the binoculars write down.

Speaker 3 (52:45):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (52:46):
She's like my dad was a drunk sitting in a wheelchair.
I got this ship.

Speaker 3 (52:49):
I mean, how bad? Doesn't make Anthony Richardson look that
every other quarterback other than him has been able to
make Shane Stycken's system work?

Speaker 5 (52:56):
Yeah, it does. It does not look good.

Speaker 4 (52:58):
It doesn't make him look like especially getting on the
lastic band of the face. That also is not a
great look literally for your face.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
So before we get to Dave, what's worse that or
Kyler Murray catching a concussion from the snap.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
Option three?

Speaker 4 (53:14):
Both?

Speaker 5 (53:16):
Yeah, both are pretty bad. I would go Cayler Murray.

Speaker 3 (53:18):
I think Kyler Murray had to miss a game.

Speaker 5 (53:20):
Doug, Yeah, I think Kyler Murray.

Speaker 4 (53:23):
Yeah, because I feel like everyone's had at some point
a band snap back at him and you maybe.

Speaker 5 (53:28):
Evaded death or something.

Speaker 4 (53:30):
But football, I mean, come on, that's like literally your
job catch the ball.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
I say all this to say I'm taking the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (53:39):
Okay, can I hear why? Because I can be talked
out of my Colts pick. I don't feel great about it.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
I do not trust the Colts against quality teams yet
I haven't seen it, and I still think Jacksonville is,
when we get down to it, the better team in
the AFC South. I think the Colts have position themselves
to be a playoff team. I just at some.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
Point the old Daniel Jones shows up that like that.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
I keep sitting here in the back of my head saying,
as good as they are, their defense does not overly
impress me. And I just am waiting for that other
shoe to drop with Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (54:22):
Maybe it doesn't. Maybe he puts together the year that
we all thought he.

Speaker 1 (54:26):
Could with the Giants. But I mean, I'm going off
what I've seen. I'm waiting for that other shoot to
drop with Daniel Jones.

Speaker 3 (54:34):
I mean, you say, the other shoot to drop. We
saw it happen in the Rams game. Like that is
the only quote unquote quality opponent they've played so far.
The Broncos are quality defense. I still don't know what
the hell happened to Broncos that game. I'll be honest, like,
I'm still trying to figure that one out that.

Speaker 2 (54:49):
The Broncos don't know either.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
Yeah, like Sean Payton's still confused about that one. But
you know that, you know, the Colts and the Jaguars don't
play each other till December, which.

Speaker 4 (54:58):
Is kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
They sent this out, that schedule all perfectly.

Speaker 3 (55:05):
They got December seventh, and then the twenty eighth, they
played the second to last week of the year, and
then two weeks before that. I'm like, bro, why, like,
let's figure out who's better now? Like I would love
I would love that answer because I might be with you,
but it's two quarterbacks. I don't believe it.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
So join the dark side, KP joined the dark side.
Jacksonville is the better team?

Speaker 4 (55:27):
Nah?

Speaker 3 (55:27):
Ask me again. On the December eighth, I that.

Speaker 4 (55:30):
That Seattle game over the weekend was the most obvious
Jaguars are gonna lose this game I've ever bet, Like,
I was, like, they're gonna They're so high high, highest
of highs winning on Monday night football. Some are calling
it their best regular season win ever, and.

Speaker 5 (55:50):
Of course they lose it.

Speaker 4 (55:51):
And I mean JSN right now might be a top
five receiver in the NFL. I'll say that.

Speaker 3 (55:57):
John Reck lighting the world on Fireman draft O house
wide receivers A braak.

Speaker 4 (56:01):
Yeah, just you know exactly, you're gonna you know, you're
getting reliability. They're gonna catch in sant balls. It's just pause.
But uh, let's move on to RV's versus the people.
Let's finish this out. Who wants to start here? Who
who brought this to us? Senate?

Speaker 6 (56:22):
I committed the deed.

Speaker 4 (56:24):
I'm looking at the tweet.

Speaker 6 (56:28):
This is an audio podcast.

Speaker 4 (56:30):
I know I'm trying to load it. I will start
this off by saying this podcast has had a long
standing war against one person, uh in particular, and that's
Dan Williams claiming the stake that Arby's is a phenomenal
fast food establishment. He would rank it in his top three, maybe.

Speaker 6 (56:46):
One deranked top two.

Speaker 5 (56:49):
And it's just disgusting.

Speaker 4 (56:50):
And uh, I believe if I can get this nasty
work nasty, yes, And he likes like the grossest stuff, like,
for example, this guy is the guy to go to
Taco Bell and get a Mexican pizza? Does anyone even
know what that is?

Speaker 3 (57:07):
I'm aware of what it is. I've never tried it
because it sounds sacrilegious.

Speaker 4 (57:11):
That's what he does.

Speaker 5 (57:12):
That is literally what he does, smile on his face.

Speaker 3 (57:15):
Well, we feel it sounds like a knight on to
told it. That's what it sounds like.

Speaker 5 (57:18):
It's just terrible. It looks like shit.

Speaker 4 (57:20):
It looks like someone just drunkenly made some like Italian
food and then they ran out of greens and they're like,
all right, let's put some shread cheese on this, and
the like let's put some olives, and then it just
bake it and that was it.

Speaker 5 (57:34):
It's just gross, But we feel I feel vindicated.

Speaker 4 (57:37):
Today Arby's is being sued for false habtising lawsuit alleges
ads make the sandwiches uppear to have at least one
hundred percent more meat than they really do.

Speaker 5 (57:48):
Thought they had the meat, They don't made the meat.

Speaker 4 (57:51):
They look like rare roast beef when it was actually
fully cooked. Arby's lost its motion to dismiss the case.
We can we can have Dave tweets out whenever we
get to this.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
Pos That's the funniest part is the fact that the
judge was like, Nah, that'sh trash, just like nah, you're right,
that's the trash most of the not.

Speaker 4 (58:14):
Yea, even if these are one offs, there is definitely
no meat on this ship. It's just yeah, it's.

Speaker 6 (58:21):
Always like it's And that's kind of what we are
always talking about when we when we look at Dan
like you're crazy, is we see it for what it
is and maybe he just is. Maybe it is just
the spot in his heart that will always remember that
one sandwich that actually looked like the commercial. Everyone's had
at least one in their life. There's still a matter
of the rest of the time they look like the

(58:43):
other side. And if Dave's put up the picture, now,
do you see how thin those sandwiches are and a
double looks like a single patty of beef? There?

Speaker 3 (58:53):
It's it's if you're.

Speaker 5 (58:54):
Getting a double beef and shut out Arby's check your.

Speaker 3 (58:59):
Just think about first of all, to our guy, Dan Williams,
I'm pulling this car. Dog. There's no way you're in
one of the barbecue capitals of the world, in Kansas City, Missouri,
and you busting out the Arby's. Get the fuck out
of here. There's no way, there's no way you passing
up on that's in Kansas City barbecue for Arby's, no way.

Speaker 4 (59:19):
Yeah, and you also know there has to be a
better local chain for a sandwich place out there for sure.

Speaker 3 (59:26):
Holding the wall that's yeah, where you know the mom
and popped there by first name Basis and you telling
me you go on to Arby's.

Speaker 6 (59:35):
Sandwiches from going to the deli and getting my own
bros beef, putting it on a sandwich and put it
on some bread and corner the day, Like what come on, man, dude.

Speaker 1 (59:43):
If I can make it better at home, I'm not
gonna spend the money.

Speaker 3 (59:48):
Now that's a high. Now I'll be cooking my ass off.
So I can't live by that. By that creed or
outside just start. It's late. I can't live by that creed.
But I'm with you. I'm with you when you're right, Dave.
I'm with you when you're right.

Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
Like they just have like some of the net like
the Smokehouse brisket sandwich.

Speaker 5 (01:00:06):
Just who gets these?

Speaker 6 (01:00:09):
Like who we're getting the steak bites?

Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
Oh nuggets?

Speaker 4 (01:00:13):
Man, they tried. I don't have anyone someone in a
football they had like Arby sponsored it and they had
like they had Ryan Clark, Jason Kelcey, and s VP
up there, and they were like kind of like, do
we have to fucking try it? I don't really want
to try this ship.

Speaker 6 (01:00:29):
They had them on college game day. They were handing
them out the students at organ A. Running over there.

Speaker 4 (01:00:33):
I saw people video and saying, this ship tastes literally
the raccoon bites man, this ship tastes terrible.

Speaker 6 (01:00:40):
There was one guy who he had. He looked like
he was excited and he and his face dropped, and
then he was he was on camera and he's smiling again.

Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
That ship and that that that like first of all,
marketing steak bites as nuggets as if we had none
of us have ever.

Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
Seen look at that thing?

Speaker 4 (01:01:00):
Who fuck orders that?

Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
And somebody the half pound beef and cheddar also, like
I looked at like a shop all the time.

Speaker 5 (01:01:12):
Some dudes would get Arby's there, nasty stuff. They would
bring back that Arby sauce. That ship's even worse.

Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
Than the sandwiches they have sauce. It tastes like ketchup
has gone rotten. It is It's like Ketchup with like
sweet and sour. It's disgusting. It is bad.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
Oh god, they managed the fuck up curly fries.

Speaker 4 (01:01:39):
Bro, you you could row dog and sandwich, no cheese,
just get the double roast beef. They know it. Ain't
even know cheese. It looks so gross.

Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
Oh dear god, I gotta know what.

Speaker 4 (01:01:52):
I don't even know what his order is.

Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
It's gotta be diabolical.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
I think at one point he did go over with
us and it was like the two beef and cheddars
and and I think he would do like the mozzarella sticks.

Speaker 5 (01:02:06):
Or some.

Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
Dan you're a father, love yourself too, and mazzarella sticks.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Hold on, I know I have the we have.

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
The picture from a big from a big back. Let
me tell you, that's not how you keep both your
feet like, that's not the recipe.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
That's how you get right there. That's that's a gout move.

Speaker 3 (01:02:29):
Yeah, like big facts, bro, Like I don't you know
what manuck Arby's I think is the summary of this.
I hope we'll ever suing him. Get how do I
join this clash action lawsuit for part of their false
advertisement and then we.

Speaker 5 (01:02:45):
Just go out and support them.

Speaker 2 (01:02:47):
I think we have to.

Speaker 4 (01:02:48):
I think we have Also, this is the other thing.
I think the guys sueing him should also go to
jail for ordering those two sandwiches. Like he so that
you thought about, Like he had two pictures of those sandwiches.
So either he ordered two sandwiches at the same time,
but he got that piece of shit one and then

(01:03:10):
went back for more. It was like, give me another one.

Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
You know why. He probably did that because he was like,
it can't be that bad the second time.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
Oh yeah, it's just as bad the second It's just sad.

Speaker 4 (01:03:22):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
I think we've we've.

Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
Gone after a national brand long enough. It is time
to wrap up this podcast. Thanks to Peyton Girod for

no pressure, big guy. Yeah, I'm sure it'll be it'll
