I hadn't written a song on my own since I was in high school. Two years ago, playing around on one of my ukuleles, this song came out in the matter of an hour or two. It is a prayer for self mortification. Arrangement and recording by Vincent Devito.

"I can't get out of my head, trapped in my mind.

A stranger in this body, stuck in time.

The path I drag my heels down carves out the circle of my life.

The self-reflection wonders, is it too late for it to die?

Deliver me.

I struggle with the wrong to prove that I'm right.

Convinced of convictions, a convict of one side.

The mask worn on the stage acts out the story of my life.

The self-reflection wonders, what will it take for it to die?

Deliver me.

The plan that is surrendered reveals the way of all life.

The self-reflection looks for what is looking through the eye.

Deliver me."
