Colombianska Pilar Quintana har översatts till 20 språk och nyligen nominerats till USA:s prestigefyllda litteraturpris ”National Book Award”. I hennes berättelser ryms borgerliga hemmafruar och ofrivilligt barnlösa i landets mer marginaliserade delar och nyligen kom hennes senaste roman ”Avgrunderna” ut på svenska.
