Journalisterna trängs för att få ställa frågor på Grammisgalan i USA, 1996. Konstanta fotoblixtar lyser upp intervjuområdet. Bland årets vinnare finns stjärnor som Alanis Morisette, Annie Lennox och Seal, men det är inte dem journalisterna väntar på.
Gruppen alla vill höra heter TLC. Tre vitklädda kvinnor kliver upp på scenen. Deras kreativt skurna kostymer visar magen enligt typiskt 90-talsmode och de har precis kammat hem två grammisar för bästa R & B-album och bästa R & B-framträdande av en duo eller grupp. T-Boz, Left-Eye och Chili har på bara några år blivit den bäst säljande kvinnliga gruppen någonsin. Med sin banbrytande R’n’B, galna outfits, dyra videor och allvarliga budskap om säkert sex och kvinnlig självständighet har de skakat om en hel genre. Ändå ser de långt ifrån glada ut när de står där på scenen, alla tre med en grammis i varje hand.
Deras senaste album “Crazy Sexy Cool” har sålt i flera miljoner exemplar. Gruppen är känd över hela världen och musikvideon till låten “Waterfalls” spelas konstant på MTV. Men Chili, T-Boz och Left-Eye är ändå less på skiten.
