Die Region Kachetien liegt am Fusse des Großen Kaukasus im Osten Georgiens, und gilt als Wiege des Weins. Wein soll hier schon vor 7000 bis 8000 Jahren angebaut und kultiviert worden sein
Hier im Osten Georgiens, etwa zwei Auto-Stunden vom Flughafen Tiflis entfernt, ist in den vergangenen Jahren an einem privaten See inmitten unberührter Natur und mit Blick auf die imposanten Gipfel des Kaukasus, eine exklusive Hotel-Anlage entstanden: Das Lopota Lake Resort.
Auch das Weingut Chateau Buera befindet sich direkt auf der Anlage. Hier im modernen Chateau, wo Gäste nicht nur im imposanten Weinkeller aus dem Vollen schöpfen, sondern in mehreren edel eingerichteten Räumlichkeiten auch ganz hervorragend essen können, habe ich mich mit Georgi alias „Goga“ Maisuradze, dem Gründer und Eigentümer des Lopota Lake Resorts und auch des Weinguts Chateau Buera zum Gespräch verabredet.
