Break out your eggnog and seasonal lingerie because the boys from Posting Through It have your holy day covered. Jared and Mike tackle TPUSA’s AmericaFest, which featured Erika Kirk Freudian-slipping the word “grift,” Ben Shapiro firing shots at other influencers, and Nicki Minaj sliding down the chimney to praise Trump. A Posting Through It listener shares a dispatch from the scene of… what I guess you would call a James O’Keefe rave? The hosts then unwrap our main present, an interview hosted by Katie Miller, “a Labrador Retriever that recently learned to read.” Miller talks to Alexis Wilkins, and her prominently besocked boyfriend, the legendary lazy boy Kash Patel. Find out what New York Islanders superfan Kash is up to these days. (Hint: It ain’t work!)

(00:00):
If he had like a proper Pike, I swear you could just like hear
him look into the camera and just gulp.
It'd be like OOP. Anyway, this is this is where
they disagree. Come on now.
Oh no, I think that it's really in like random things like I
don't like Spice and he does like I like spice.
I just, I can't handle spice. I'm working on it.

(00:22):
Like I said, I'm Mediterranean, so I have it in me.
I just I need to get there with it.
No, the going out, the going outto eat is hilarious 'cause I'm
Hindu and I don't eat beef and she has a really significant
seafood allergy. So when we sit down at a dinner
table or go to an event, we haveto like make sure we've provided
these instructions. And so then when we're out to

(00:43):
dinner at a nice dinner, she'll order like a steak, which is
great. And then I'll order like the
seafood and everything else. And it's like on a divided line
like it can't. Cross when do you go?
We make a really good surf and turf team.
Yeah, at like events. When do you go to work dude?
Yeah, we're balling out eating at restaurants in Las Vegas.

(01:04):
You know, that's like, what do we disagree on?
It's got to, it's gotta be like what food to order, that's for
sure. He's like.
A little boy, he's like a littleboy with a trust fund.
It's like he's just like, it's amazing.
Let's keep going, yeah? So what's the ideal date night?
Staying in, Yeah. I was gonna say at this point,
probably like doing nothing. Sitting on the couch watching

(01:26):
whatever. Yeah, sleeping.
What's the best restaurant you guys?
Have been together in DC. In DC.
In DC together, or I guess we'reall across the United States.
Our favorite restaurant is Mizumi in Las Vegas.
We go there as often as we can, but Las Vegas has the best food.
We. Pause it.
Pause it. Pause it.
Pause it. OK, I'm sorry, this is the FBI

(01:48):
director. Like what?
Like, yeah, laying around doing nothing, sleeping.
Sleeping. Which restaurant do you like?
He's like Mizumi. I don't know what these fucking
things are. Mizumi, the green Frog, the D5.
Like, I like to eat in Las Vegas.
I like to eat in Nashville. I'm hitting up all those
restaurants in Long Island. I'm just taking the plane all

(02:09):
over the place, man. That matter but DCI don't know
what do you like. You wouldn't know because he's
never fucking there, dude. DC actually, I don't go there
very much, honestly. I don't.
Well, he does. He does eat in DC.
He's about to talk about that. I'm basically when she's not
here, I'm, you know, running theUber Eats tab up because you get

(02:30):
home, as you even know, at like 9:00 PM and you're like, I don't
have the time to cook. So whatever's convenient.
And if I'm in town, I do cook so.
She likes. Add onion Rings $5.
And what's the best thing she cooks?
Chili. Chili dude.
I just love the idea of cash. Like on his fucking Uber eats.

(02:52):
And fuck it, 2 burgers being Buffalo chicken.
Buffalo chicken sandwich. You know, lemonade.
Yeah, that sounds good. Give me that.
I want that. What about for dessert?
I'll take something out. You know, how about a milkshake?
Dude, imagine being the Uber Eats driver and you show up with
like cold five guys and the dooropens and it's the director of

(03:14):
the FBI. He's wearing like an Islander's
jersey, no pants and like American flag socks.
And he's like. Come on, man, we were just
playing. We were just gaming in here.
You're going. You're late.
It's like another cozy night in,you know, that's really my
favorite kind of night. It's like the phone is like
ringing off the hook. It's like, hey, there's a
shooting at Brown University. He's like, OK, I, I got to pay

(03:36):
attention to the Uber Eats driver, right?
It's it says that he's, he's, he's 86% here.
It's like somebody, you know, who gets a company credit card
the first time, you know, the some Dan Bongino texts him.
It's like, hey, man, I I think I'm going to resign.
Thanks for, you know, be doing the FBI thing with me.

(03:56):
And he's like, yeah, it's definitely an Uber Eats kind of
night, you know? He's like, this is tough.
They're making me actually read the text on my phone.
So I'm going to be here with Uber Eats.
I can't go to you to like Grimaldi's and Bazangas or
whatever over in Nashville and. He's like, he's like, hey, hey,

(04:17):
Dan, give me a call real quick. And Dan calls and he's like,
hey, what's up duty? And he's like, OK, thanks, man.
This is a I'm buying food for a work meeting now.
How do you keep your personal relationship strong when so much
of what you do during the day isn't discussed outside of, you
know, a classified setting? How does that work for you?

(04:41):
She has this great ability to not only never ask me about my
job, but never care to because she knows we're not going to
discuss it. And so I think that keeps a lot
of it like compartmented, which is just something I've done my
entire government career. She has this amazing ability to
not give a shit about my job that I don't do.

(05:03):
It's like, like huddled over like his phone as he bets on
FanDuel. He's like.
That's top secret. Leave me alone.
Last last clip from but the. Last clip is my favorite though.
Jared. From Cash Patel's Time with
Katie Miller is a Cash Patel riffing about TV shows, some of

(05:23):
his favorite entertainment. TV right now.
Really crappy Netflix series with all the travel you have to
do, so you just like, load it upwith whatever is relevant.
But then there's some really good ones out there.
Paramount's crushing it with like, Mary Kingstown, Tulsa.
I've never in my life paramount.Plus is.

(05:44):
Crushing it. And I if I fucking can't get
enough of that shit, I'm going to order.
I'm going to order what I need from Uber Eats and then I'm
going to fucking queue up some fucking Paramount Plus right
now. It's the fucking best app going.
You know what Cash Patel is? He is an iPad baby at the top of
the FBI so. Fucking cool.

(06:06):
Anyway, let's hear about his TV,apparently.
We got to figure out if he vapesor not.
Like like he's, he's definitely got the like weird flavoured
vape with like a touch screen onit.
He's ordering Uber Eats at like 9-9 PM and he's absolutely
crushing some Paramount Plus. Oh fuck.

(06:27):
The Kings and Landman and then there's just, you know, random
things that come in the document.
I'll watch anything related to hockey, so stuff like.
That do you watch any shows now that have the FBI and you're
like, that's just not accurate. That's not how we do it there,
no. I guess like a doctor watching
ER or something. What's the first concert you've
ever been to? I went to.

(06:49):
The first concert you've ever been?
What? It's a weird way.
To. But wait.
Just just wait before you do that.
I just need to. Say I'm watching Land, man, I'm
watching Tulsa Kings. I'm watching all these
documentaries, man. I'm watching about the 1980 USA
Hockey team. And we got that going.
We got the, you know, a little Netflix, we got a little

(07:12):
Paramount Plus going. We got the Uber Eats going.
You know, that's what we do. I would love for James Comedy to
come in with the same fucking attitude back when he was the
FBI director. Yeah, I'm.
Just fucking watching Land man and fucking Mama Paramount lost
with my fucking compression socks that have like.
I'm. Sorry, he's so fucking funny,

(07:34):
this guy. Go ahead.
I'm sorry. So I know Cash, you're a big
country music fan. What's your favorite?
Who's your favorite artist? George Strait.
Really. Even outside of country?
Because I was half joking a. 100% all day long he's.
So serious. He's just got like the candy
center honors. And he did.
Yeah, he. Did did you meet him?
I did not meet him there, but Alexis for my birthday surprised

(07:57):
me by taking me to the George Strait concert and I'd never
been before in my life, so that was pretty.
Awesome, it was like 4 mass shootings that not all that day.
What's your secret talent? Oh, you go first.
I don't have one. You got to have a secret talent.
We all have one. That's yours.
I think I can like see over the horizon and see like what's bad

(08:22):
or good in the future. I think I can compartment a lot.
Whoa, whoa. Whoa, I.
Don't want? Tape 1.
Pause, Katie Miller. Hold on.
Can I? I Yeah, I'm going to do
something. Maybe.
The audience, because I'm probably laughing harder than
anyone who's listening. I'm sorry.
I just find him so funny, OK? I need to run the tape back
because I think Katie Miller just said that she thinks her

(08:42):
secret talent is that she can see the future.
We all have one. What's yours?
I think I can like see over the horizon and see like what's bad
or good in the future. I think I can compartmentalize
these. Are the.
Dumbest three people to ever do a podcast together in the

(09:02):
history of the format. I think my secret talent is I
can see if the good and bad in the future.
I am. I can do that.
So Raven, that is my secret power.
And then Kosh Patel, you'd miss it at the end, but he's like, I
can compartmentalize. But I just I just like.

(09:23):
Like, you know, I'm just ordering my Uber Eats, I'm on
FanDuel, I'm watching Paramount Plus, I'm watching HBO Max.
What's your special talent? I don't really have one of
those. And then in the background,
we've got this. Do you love me?
Do you want? Fucking cash, man Merry

(09:45):
Christmas. Wait, hold on.
Sorry.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
