Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everyone, and welcome back to the On Deck podcast
by Prospects Live. I'm joined here by my friends Reese
Andrew and today we've got a very special episode for you.
We're gonna be going over our prospect crushed teams. Reese
walk me through a prospect crush team is.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
A prospect crush team is just prospects that you like
more than most are guys that you just really enjoy. Basically,
the format we're gonna do is you're gonna drave a catcher,
two corner infielders, two middle infielders, three outfielders, two utility prospects,
and then five pitchers. I believe I sat the parameters,
two of them happy left handers, because we do have
to show some of the South Bossom love. That's what

(00:35):
we're gonna be doing today.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I think I think the people are really gonna like
this one. It's a mix of our thoughts on Well,
we're going over over thirty prospects on this episode, so
talking about a bunch of guys. So that's all we're
gonna go on on about today. As always, we'll have
p Lab news and what's on your mind. At the
end of this episode, So stay tuned for a fun
one there, and we're gonna kick it straight to the
drop teams to get right into this.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Thing and the corner.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
We're trying to figure you out.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
All okay, and we're back with the man who was
born ready to do This is what Reese just said
off air. Reese sounds like you're excited. So that means
you're gonna be going first for our prospect crush draft.

(01:24):
As always snake drafting, this thing will go, Reese drew
myself in reverse. Drew gets the nice little spot in
the middle there, and uh yeah, we got a bunch
of positions to choose from, so I guess the one
one actually kind of matters here.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Who is your your biggest crush, Reese.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
My biggest prospect crush? I can go in a bunch
of different ways. There's you know, who do I like?
Do I want to gamify this? And that is such
a great question. I really should have done a little
bit more prep. But I'm gonna I think I'm gonna
actually stay in the catching room because there's only gonna
be three of them drafted. I don't imagine we're gonna
be drafting some in the uh Utah, Drew, my Drew
my draft all SEC catchers at that spot. I'm gonna

(02:01):
go with Alfredo Duno. I love Alfredo Duno. He's got
some of the craziest tools you'll see for me to
the catching position. It is plus power. He's a better
athlete that I think he's given credit for. ALFREDA. Duno
is the truth, man. Now that the Chase Burns has graduated,
he's easily the best Rits prospect for me. Give me
some Alfredo Duno.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
All right, Drew, What what's going on over there? Man?

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Uh? Was in consideration for my one one, believe it
or not, one of three catchers.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
On my board.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I not not looking great for the Drew guys right now.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
The Drew team, well, you get your first pick right here,
so maybe you can take one a Reese's guys or whatnot.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
I won't.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
I told you guys off the air, and I'm not
gonna beat any allegations here today.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
Folks.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
You can call me a home or a favorite, I'm
blab whatever. But these are the guys that I like,
and I'm sorry that I like them. One one, we're
gonna go left handed pitcher and I'm taking Liam Doyle.
I think that a lot of people like Lillam Doyle.
I think I very much like what he could be,
and really, as as prospectors, as you know, evaluators and
as fantasy people, I have to be focused on what

(03:08):
a guy could be, and I think that Liam Doyle
has the most upside of what he could be at
max of anybody in the twenty twenty five draft.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
I'm very, very.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Very pleased that he played for the University of Tennessee,
but I think that now that he's in a system
that has developed pitchers relatively consistently and can hopefully give
him a little bit more, I think I wanted to
say selectivity about when to use his pitches and where
I would I'd feel really good about it. But yes,
Liam Doyle is my guy, and I feel very happy
with that choice.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I feel like it's worth mentioning Drew that you are
more dynasty minded than me and Reesar. So that is
going to affect your picks if like right, like it
should because first of all, most of these leagues are
little smaller, right, You're working with less prospects, so the
guys from the top of the list are more relevant
to you. As am I wrong to give that kind
of disclaimer.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
In some regards.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yes, I know that just from my perspective, and I
don't mean to take forever on this topic. But to
go deeper and to look deeper is to be ahead
of the curve and theoretically earlier to the punch, to
roster other players before other guys do. So I mean,
I am gonna go a little deeper here, but I
you know, like I said, I might be at top

(04:19):
of the top of the charts merchant here.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
But that's who I like. So sue me, don't sue me.
You I don't have.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Anything you want, Adam, We're gonna need some Yeah, thanks, Okay.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
For my first pick, I'm gonna go with Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
I think maybe the only top one hundred guy I
have on my uh little little notes here, and that
would be on Hell Janeau Angel Janee. Do we know
a pronunciation there? This one's killed me.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
For a while.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Janelle was what i'd call it, but now.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah, Jew.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Either way, I'm assuming it's on Hell. He's he's in
a lower spot right now compared to where he's kind
of been. The hype is kind of dying down. It
feels like kind of struggling a little bit more in
twenty twenty five, he's been injured. I would buy the
dip right now in terms of just your your fandom
for the guy. I think it's a really safe prospect.

(05:11):
I think he's an average big leaguer for sure. In
my opinion, I really like the hit tool and I
actually surprisingly like him a shortstop quite a bit. I
think he's a very capable shortstop from what I've seen
in video. So I'm gonna go with on Hell for
my first pick. For my second one, I'm gonna go
straight to the util and I'm gonna take Sam Antonacci.

(05:33):
I know this is the guy that we've talked about
a little bit before, good college player, later around draft
pick for the White Sox and has just been absolutely
killing it this year. Just a he's probably a second baseman,
which is kind of where we get into a conversations
about like how's it gonna work? But I think he's
an offensive juggernaut. In the late rounds of the White
Sox have really like hit On in terms of development.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Can I ask why you selected him in the Utah
You plauged your util so early.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Because I only have two guys on my list too,
I think could qualify as actual utilities. It's like how
many like so you tell anybody that you want are there?

Speaker 2 (06:13):
So my mind, my mind, you uto is just two
guys that you wanted to plug in. Like I guess
that I Drew wants to draft some more catchers. We
have that spot. I'm probably gonna draft them the catcher
at some point too. So okay, so that's my explaining
enough I can it's like a wild card.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, let'sut him in the middle infield. I do think
that there's a realistic chance that he could split time
between like second third, that you could play short on
the darkest day in history, which is why I slid
him into the YouTube.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
But yeah, I want to put that in some.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Sort so.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
I know that we're I know we're not trying to
get caught up on this, but I just want to
call the like mid Holocaust d Day, the rapture Sam
Antonaci at shortstop, I have to call that to that's
that's in sane manner of speech. I've got to work
that into Wow. Okay, not to just take this over,

(07:07):
but I guess I'll go again. Let's see, this is tough.
I think I want to steer clear of middle endfield
for a minute. The fact that Nate just packed two
middle infielders feels really good. I think the most drew guy.
I don't fear that either of you will take him.

(07:27):
So I'll go back to pitching, and I think I'm
gonna take a gentleman that I've been chided for ranking
so highly recently. I'm going to take a right hander
this time, though, Santiago Suarez from the Tampa Bay Rays.
This is a guy who I know recently he's been injured.
That said, incredible command to be so young, twenty years old,

(07:53):
obscene levels of command. Thus far, the stuff isn't insane,
but yet he misses. He misses bats with his pitches.
I really like the fastball. It's mid nineties, has a
strong cutter, a good curveball. I see a lot of
very He's very consistent. I see a lot of upside
to light here, and I'm chasing it everywhere that I can.

(08:15):
I feel like I'm the only one left carrying the
flag since he's been hurt this year, but very very
happy to be that person carrying the flag. Love Santiago Swarus.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Yeah, this is one of your boys he was. He
was on my draft board. Great command stuff is good, honestly,
where it's gonna sound weird. Those little too much drikes
could stand to expand its own a little bit more.
But that's uh, neither here nor there. So it's up
with me for two on a wrap around pick. Let's
see what Giants prospector Lazara Montescause I draft here. There's

(08:48):
actually some Giants prospect that I will be drafting later,
but I'm gonna wait a little bit on that. Do
I how do I want to game this? So Drei's
two pitchers, Nate has his middle and I.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Can't believe it took just took to middle infielders.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
I actually those are two guys that would have been
on my board. But I know that you're you like
Janella more than I do.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
I'm trying to like to know because of how much
you like him, Nate. I think I've told you that.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
I don't think it's no perfectly rational love. I just
like the art. I love a switch hitting middle infielder too.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
It's fun, it's it's it's a fun profile. I'm not
going to dive deep into my sleepers yet. I'll don't
to go with my guy. It's probably the higest guy
that's gonna be ranked on my draft, on my board,
EDWARDO Quintara. I think that there's a real chance that
he is just the best Dodgers prospect. It is five
tool guy, pretty crazy tools, good defender in center field.
I think there's everything that are that I sort of like.

(09:38):
And there's other prospects that old draft later who very
much I will Maybe there's an article that's there of
the next Eduardo Quintaro's, So I'll do that some of
those guys later and then for my third round pick.
Starting off the third round, how do I want to go?
I have my cutcher and I have an outfield selected.
I'm gonna go with my first pitcher, knock one of
the left handers out of the board. Gauged, gave jump,

(10:00):
you're on team, And again I'm not. I am not
diving deep into my sleepers yet. That'll be for later.
For those that are listening to this, you can get
some of my sleeper thoughts later. Stay with the hits.
Gauge jump, crazy stuff. Stuff sort of just jumps on you.
So yeah, I'm a fan of him.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
All right. Yeah, that was on my board. We're a
gauge jump podcast, We're a gauge jump crew.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
We're sneakly a like Sacramento Athletics, crow like. We might
start wearing the gear.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
We're going to Vegas, fellas.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
I mean, we could start wearing the stuff.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
They have to send it first, though.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Yes, let's see, Okay, well, let's see. We're currently at
two pictures, and part of me let's just say, let's
keep the party rolling, let's take more pictures. But that's
a little psychotic. I have nothing if not psychotic, though,
I'll take I'll take Johnny King of the Toronto Blue Jays,

(10:56):
please and all. That'll be my other left hander. As
a matter of fact, So the thing with King is
that he is a very risky demographic that I think
is paying off in space. Not only is he a
high school pitcher drafted, but again a left hander, great
frame sixty three to.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
Ten, still kind of developing.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
But thus far you have to tell yourself two levels
in one season, right about forty between forty and fifty
innings last time I checked. Strikes out a ton of guys.
It's a good looking mix.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Everything is still on the upward trajectory. But guys.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Tell me I'd never projected Toronto to become this kind
of Hey, pitchers that pitch in Toronto are suddenly really awesome.
Like there's a bunch of pop up guys here. King
was a guy that I had highlighted from last year's
last year's draft, very much like what he could be.
The slider's really nasty. Just want to see more development,
but as of right now, everything you could really want.
I think just the other day he gave up his

(11:53):
first home run of the season. If I'm not mistaken,
and I think it yeah, yeah, Ridal Rodriguez, which is
just very cool. So King is King is my other guy,
very much like Kimmobot.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
I think that's an incredible pick. The Blue Jays pitching
lab is a thing now. I'm I am very curious
to see how the stuff develops for all these guys
because they have all of them have huge K numbers
lower at lower levels, but like I don't know, their
stuff doesn't pop up.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
It's like the Cal.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Steep Sorry to talk about picks, but like Cal Stevens,
someone who's very good, but the stuff doesn't necessarily pop
off the page in my opinion. But I'm actually sticking
with the Toronto Blue Jays. Here Drew for my first pick,
and I'm going to take gage Stanafer.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
I'm just about to start typing that in.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Yeah, it feels like I talk about him a lot.
I like this risky kind of demographic of guys who
worst case this is like a really fun reliever. And
he was drafted in the nineteenth round in twenty twenty two,
So one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars guy who
is now striking out you know what, thirty eight percent

(13:00):
of batters this year.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Like that is such a.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Fun story, and I do think it's replicable at higher levels.
The command is absolutely concerned. He also doesn't have a
whole lot of endings under his belt, so we'll see.
But a big gage standard for guy. And then I'm
gonna go over and take a Royals picture resum I've taken.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Oh, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
I I'm thinking it's a left hander, a very young
left hander.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
DS.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, David Shields has just been popping the last couple weeks.
I don't know if I'm the only one on on
X looking at this guy just being like, how does
he keep doing this? But caused me to dive into
the stuff. I think it's a two really plus secondary
pitches with a fastball that lacks a little bit.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
But he's like this.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Mold where he's just not gonna walk anyone. And it
was almost like Re said earlier, like maybe he needs
to start thrown outside the zone a little bit to
get that chase up. But uh, David Shields super interesting
picture in Kansas City, who could use an interesting picture?

Speaker 5 (14:00):
I love that pick.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Shout out to my friend Jared Perkins. He geeked out
last year in Texas whenever the Royals drafted him and
told me his entire life story, it felt like which
was very cool. So shout out Jared. Okay, I think
I'm gonna dive into the middle infield here since since
Nate has both of his and I feel pretty comfortable
that this is a good opportunity to take him.

Speaker 5 (14:22):
And I'm gonna go to the Chicago.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
White Sox for Billy Carlson, who is another guy that
I feel like I'm really carrying the banner on from
this year's draft. I think that Carlson is he's gonna
be bombarded constantly with but what if the hit tool
doesn't come around? But what if this, this, this with

(14:43):
every prep shortstop. I have this opinion that if you're
drafting a prepster that high, they're gonna have enough tool
and enough floor to say that they're worth that pick
theoretically for every you know, But what if Eli Willitts
isn't as strong as we think he'll be here, he's
he doesn't stick at the position, and his value isn't there.
What if Ethan Holliday just can't hit consistently. I feel

(15:06):
like it's it's there, But it's the same level of
concern for Carlson and whether the power is going to
come or whether the.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
Hit tool is going to be consistent.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
The defense is the floor. And again I've said it
ten million times, so won't bore you here, but it's
marble floor with a ceiling that's still being built as
we speak.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
Is it six inches above him and with tons of holes? Maybe?

Speaker 4 (15:23):
Is it a lofty vault ceiling ahead of him with
the Sistine Chapel painted on it?

Speaker 5 (15:27):
Might be?

Speaker 4 (15:28):
I don't know, but it's very nice and I'm eager
to take the plunge. Everywhere love this kid. From all
reports this far that I'm seeing very inquisitive doing the
right things, asking the right questions, thumbs all the thumbs
up for Drew.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
I love it. I'm going to go into the pitching realm.
I'm going to go with a DFL pitcher, you know,
notably very safe demographic. I'm going Kevin to Franklin. Dude.
One of the things, one of the things I love
is dizl bitching.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Now.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
But this dude, it's like one hundred miles per hour.
It's a good slider, it's a good splitter. He's got
everything that you sort of want. The Marlins do a
good job of developing pitching. It's not the way that
they used to. They don't develop the change ups the
way that they used to. I think they're pretty good
at getting guys like a half take better command. So
I'm going with Kevin to frank We're gonna start getting
into my sleepers. See Kevin to frank big, big time,
big time arm strength guy, big time fastball, big time splitter,

(16:25):
slide is coming around. Big fan of him. Honestly, I
think I'm gonna I think after talking about him right now,
I'm gonna bump them up the Marlins ranks because I
apparently I'm a big Marlins guy. And then while I
type that in, we are going to stall a little bit.
Do I want to go with some of my next
Edward Oplintarot types? Do I want to start going with
my middle dfield? I think I can wait on the

(16:46):
middle enfield. Honestly, maybe I tack the corner infield and
I'm gonna go with someone who has a great last name.
We're going with Tommy Tanks. Tommy Tanks, you are my
corner infielder last sight check, who's been pretty you know,
he's I think that there is a little bit of
selectivity here, passivity here, but yeah, I'm going with Thomas
White to add to the family reunion.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
I like that pick a lot rece that was on
my board for sure. From talking during his VP at
the Futures Game, the power is so vivid and so
much so much is there. But again, from talking to
some very smart people, we actually reference him all the time.
Chris Blessing, he who is named for brother Blessings, law

(17:30):
is named for He pointed out something to me about
Tommy White that I'm really watching going forward, and that's
there might be a really noticeable and exploitable hole in
his swing going forward, so I'm trying to just keep
an eye on that. But thus far Man, everything's gone
swimmingly for him. I very much like that pick.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
He's not striking out a lot, He's walking a decent amount,
making good contact, has power here, He's double A already,
this Antonia, this A's team. Where the ace. We're the
fan of the A's around here. So drew on you
for the fifth.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Sure, So again, I'm not going to beat any allegations ever, Reese.
I believe you said this guy's name exactly when we
started the show. But I need to get into the
corner infield market and I'm going to do so with
the big fish Andrew Fisher. Your description of Tommy Tanks
is exactly what I'm expecting from Fisher. Discipline, power, contact,

(18:24):
doing it all, That's what I'm expecting. I think this
is a guy who I could comp him for days,
but I don't like any of them because it's either
some Hall of Famer or future Hall of Famer, And
again that's going to make me sound like a Homer.
But I very much like what this guy did, and
I think that if he wasn't a certified corner only
type at the next level. Everybody would see what I see,

(18:45):
but they don't, which was fine, So that's okay. Don't
mind being an outlier, as we've established.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Nate to you, sir, Sorry for my animated reaction on
Kevin de Frank that is who. Before the show, me
and Reese were talking and for some reason I couldn't
remember his name.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
And then I found all hitter, We're gonna start getting
real deep and gross.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Yeah, I don't know if I'm gonna go go that weird.
I'm gonna go Brandon Clark next. This is this is
in the top one hundred range. I would expect that
we do.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
You think we'll see him on our next top one
hundred Greece or Jezu on the outside looking.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
In, he's probably in that conversation close, right, He's one
of those guys.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
He's close.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
He's like he's like on the music on the border.
If not, you know, honestly, he might just be there
bub blah up because of the Red Sox dore their job.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
So it's like an almost top one hundred guy out
of kind of nowhere. This year was touching one hundred
in the backfield of spring training that everyone was like,
who is this guy always the guy from a Juco
that the Red Sox took in the fifth round and uh,
really good off speed pitches. He's got a change up
that's coming along. I think it's a starter. With the
build and.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
With them I do with him.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, the command is is certainly, But when I think
about these command guys, I'm like, are these guys who
have a lack of command? I'm okay with the guy
who came from a Juco who throws one hundred and
is still growing into his life as a pitcher to
not have the best command right now because of the
guys I feel like, who could tick up? It's like
that the Jacob Mizerowski tick up like forever, like when
is it going to become serviceable? And eventually it did.

(20:18):
He's just gonna need a lot more reps. But he
got an aggressive promotion to high early in the year,
so I guess we'll see what they decide to do
with them.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
And that gives you one of your lefties that you
needed to grab.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
Yeah, I got Shields and Clark.

Speaker 5 (20:32):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
I like that for corner infield. I'm gonna go.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
I didn't want to take a first base prospect but
I kind of like the anti first base prospect Trey Morgan.
My buddy keeps telling me. I have a really close
friend who is a really big Raised fan, and he's like,
I think Trey Morgan's legit because he watches a lot
of them. Something about a defensive first baseman who has
a really good hit tool is like kind of a
fun old school look, And I think Trey Oregon is

(21:01):
a starting first baseman and the big leagues. Will he
be the most valuable player? No, but it's a fun profile.
So and he might even place him outfield, so I
guess there's ways to get him on the field.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
So yeah, Trey Morgan.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, he's like Evan White was good at making contact.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
Oh that's kind of sad, Okay. I think for mine,
I'm going to go back into the pitching market and
pick a guy that I've just I don't know. When
I watch this guy, I just have a good feeling.
So you tell me what that means at home, I
don't care. I really like Logan Henderson from the Brewers.

(21:43):
I'm not sure, Reese, we've talked about this a million
times for Path to the Show, haven't we.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
What's his role? Long term.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
I don't exactly care. I just think he's really good.
I think that the Brewers are doing themselves a disservice
by not letting him start.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
But that's just me.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
It's above average command with above ava fastball.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
The change up is the start of the show.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Though.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
Love that pitch. It's it's truly fabulous.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
I do think that.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
The the VL bands there is really what makes it special.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
It just drops so much.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
I think that it is going to be probably and
I'm curious, Nate Rech, You guys thoughts, is it the
development of another pitch or the kind of step forward
of another pitch that establishes Henderson as a starter next
at the next level.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
You think, yeah, he he needs one or two pitches
that aren't a fastball change up, like he would need
a very good he would need a very good third pitch,
or who would need two average the third and fourth pitches.
And that is what scares me so much about him,
because there is so much development that is going to
be needed to be done for long term starting success.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
There you go anyway, So I do like this because
we've seen kind of and I wouldn't I wouldn't even
go so far as to say that the change up
is Henderson's key pitch. It's I think it's his best pitch.
But I think he leads fastball and lets the.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
Change up work.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
But you know, Michael King is a change up kind
of change up first starter that's made it work. But again,
like you referenced, King also has a bit.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
More of an arsenal than Henderson.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
I just like what I see there, So mark it
down in your notebooks at home, students, Drew has a
good feeling stay away from this guy.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
Rees goes to you.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Sir, I'm going to go off the board a little bit.
I'm gonna go with someone who is traded at the deadline,
who I kind of liked right before the trade deadline.
I'm gonna go with Ryan Gallagher. That dude is nasty.
I think that the Twins are gonna have a lot
of fun to playing around with him. He is coming
back from Tommy John. I think that the change up's
really good. I think that the slider's pretty good. The
fasketball shows well, and the velocity is not the best

(23:41):
on the fastball, but I think that's going to take
a step forward. And yeah, we're talking about it like
a really solid five starter. So Ryan Gallagher is going
to be my sixth round selection and then let's just
just let's just drive him. I wrote aim about it
on the Daily Sheet at the time we're recording this.
Brendan Compton as my seventh round selection. I love all
the tools. Am I super jazz at the Marlins drafted No,
but like there's a lot of developmental runway for him.

(24:03):
He leaves ASU. We're talking about one hundred eight email
prox filosophy. Probably above average to plus speed, corner outfielder.
Not very good in the outfield. That's fine. If he
makes enough contact, that dude has a chance to be
a really, really good player. But you know, that's the
ultimate question with some of these guys. And I like
him a lot, so he's someone that he's one of
my favorite players in this draft.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
M I figured you would take content a lot. Coming
into this, I had a good, good suspicion that's my guy.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Let's see.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
Okay, Gallagher and Compson, that's two good ones that I
had kind of.

Speaker 5 (24:37):
Deeper on my board.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Okay, I'll go ahead and take a catcher just because
I referenced that I didn't have many of them on
the board. I'm going to go with the guy that
I think is getting overshadowed right now, and that's just
because there is a you know, a depth of talent
at his position, but still very young twenty years old
for Blake Mitchell out of the Royals. Really, if the

(25:00):
question is what is the hit tool, I think that
it's a it's a worthwhile gamble, and it's one that
I think the Royals, like I said, you know, they
have catchers in spades. They've got catchers that we can,
you know, all day long, weeks after and talk about catchers.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
But it's strong power.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
It's it's good defense behind the plate with an absolute
you know, hose of an arm. Their speed here as well,
So I mean, will will the speed draw up? You know, yeah,
more likely than not. But I do think that he
is probably being overlooked just because of the Carter Jensen
h immersion, because Ramon Ramirez continues to be a solid

(25:36):
prospect as well. I like Blake Mitchell a lot, and
I think that it's a it's a prospect worth following, clearly.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
To save some time here, I'm gonna speed up my analysis.
I'm gonna go John Peck uh, one of Reese's Detroit
tagger Fellers. I think long term, probably third base. I
think he's played a lot of short this year. Yeah,
he's he's played a little bit more short this year.
Long term, it's probably third base. The fielding isn't fantastic.
And then for my catcher, I'm gonna go Drew Cavanaugh

(26:08):
in Reese's favorite system, San Francisco. That's a lot of
punch outs, it's pretty good defense when I saw him
a person. Obviously he's playing for for my local Eugene Emeralds.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
And it's a lot of power.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
I think it's it's probably a backup catcher, but maybe
a good one at that. But I'm not I'm not
moved by a whole lot of catchers nowadays in the
minor leagues. But Drew Kavanaugh is pretty good.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Hmmm, I like that, Drew.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
What are you thinking?

Speaker 2 (26:37):
What are you doing here? Dree?

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Drew is struggling at the moment, but uh, don't worry
about me. I'll pull it together. I think I've been
a start in.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
The outfield pool here.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
And go with a gentleman that Kyle wrote about on
the on the Dynasty Baseball Pickups that dropped today, so
a couple of days ago when you're watching this.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
But we're gonna go with Brendan Jones of the New
York Yankees.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
This is a guy who at Kansas State was an
excellent leadoff type player, has a lot of speed and
showed a lot of discipline with kind of developing power
that's all kind of amplified this time with the Yankees.
Thus far I said he was last year. Excuse me,
I said this was the most undervalued FYPD slash draft
pick made in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
And I think that.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
That's gonna prove to be mostly true, partially true, arguably true.
I like him a lot, so check.

Speaker 5 (27:33):
Him out if you're unaware.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Reese to you, sir, I'm gonna go with someone who
when I was at a game that's just back to
back days to talk about him. Kendrick Tarrio of the
Royals or the Royals becoming a pitching factory. That's a
great question. You know, they always have interesting pitchers. I
just don't. I don't think they ever get him over
the line, except for Chris Boubitch. So we're gonna go
with Kendy Trio's my eighth round selection and then in

(27:57):
the ninth round, I that's like, I feel like I'm
stalling here because I don't really know where I want
to go. Do I want to go? Uh? You know what,
Let's see, I have two I need one more left
hand or I'm gonna wait on that because I need
to look up who I want to go with. I'm
gonna finish up my corner infield here. I'm going to
Jonathan Long. I just honestly, I'm surprised that you didn't
get traded. Jonathan Long to play but a few different positions,

(28:19):
but probably a third base, first base sort of type.
Dud just hits. I'm surprised that you know, a team
didn't come calling for him. But so we'll just keep
going with him.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
He's the block prospect that I love, one of the
only cool corner infield prospects in the game.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Yeah mm hmm, okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Just so so if you need a second Drew has Okay,
we do need to speed this up a little bit.
Drew has two outflose spots. Stuff to We all have
our util swats open and Drew has a corner infielder
and a picture.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
I'll take a corner infielder just to keep it going along.
I'm gonna take Dean Curly and just keep the Tennessee
thread stretching throughout here. I think that he has been
bludgeoned by the bad defense till so that people have
forgotten the fact that he hasn't a very strong exceptional
I would teeter on elite bat. It's it's been narrated
to death. But again, Curly is an excellent prospect, and

(29:17):
I'm excited to see what Cleveland does with a guy
that comes in with power and maybe needs to develop
a little bit more contact and a little bit more defense,
which is kind of flipping their normal narrative.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Go ahead and Nate, absolutely, I'm gonna go double outfield here. First,
I'm gonna go Victor Arias in the Blue Jays guy
find myself writing about a lot on the Daily sheet
for it being Victor Arius. What a awesome fourth outfielder
I think he will be, and there's upside of, you know,
starting outfielder. He's kind of that short mold that the
Blue Jays seem to have a couple of. And then

(29:48):
from an other outfielder, I'm gonna go Owen carry the
young man in the Atlanta system just kind of doing
really well from Londonderry. I'm gonna take Owen Carry super
lay ground draft pick has done but hit so far,
and I believe he's only nineteen, So I own Carry
and victor Arius.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Hm hmm, I love True for the tenth.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
Okay, uh in the tenth.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
I will stick to this year's draft because apparently that's
just what's on my mind right now, and I'll go
with Devin Taylor from Indiana now with our favorite team,
the Athletics. H Taylor is a guy that can do
it all. I mean, again, what is the hit tool
going to be long term against.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Professional quality breaking balls? That's the question.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
But if tools could make a guy a Hall of Famer,
Taylor is already on an incredible path. And that's pretty
much the best way I can say that brees to you, Sir.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Devin Taylor.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Robbins, Devin Tlor does rock. I am struggling here, fellas.
I'm the one who came up this format, So let
me just stall here for a second. I want to
really play around in the middle.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
While you're thinking Ese, I'll read through your team. Reese
has taken thus far. Catcher Alfredo Dono quarter infielders. He's
got Tommy Tanks White and Jonathan Long too, the cooler
quarter infielders. I liked that description. Nate in the outfield,
Riese's got Eduardo Kintaro and Brandon Compton. A lot of
tools there as well. Naked middle infield thus far. And
then in his rotation, Reese's got gauge jump, Kevin de Frank,

(31:18):
Ryan Gallagher and kendre Chrurio. Talk about guys that are
sprung up this season.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
I'm taking Nelson Rada in the tenth round. Finish out
my outfield. I'm gona try some more oftfielders here in
a minute. Honestly, I only we're talking about him enough.
He's eighteen, nineteen years old in Triple A. He just
hit a home run. He's a good defensive, good defensive
outfielder as well. And then let's see for my middle infielder.
Do I really want to get a little weird? Do
I want to stay to do what I want? I

(31:46):
want to skip weird, but I want. I think I'm
gonna stall so I can get a little bit weird
later because I need more time to think about how
weird I want to get because again, I am the
most weird that there can be. I need a left
handed pitcher. It's one thing I box myself into. I'm
trying to think there's any left handed pitchers who are
just sort of me guys. But while I do that,

(32:07):
I'm gonna jump into the util spot. I'm a draft
Mitch flight. I've become a big fan of the of him. Honestly,
I'm super excited that he has decided that he is
going to stop switch hitting or stop pitching, and I'm
a big fan of him. I think this power here,
He's definitely got a very interesting celebration he gets on
to third base. I'll say that you can google that
at home. Interesting guy, good power, good organization. And yeah,

(32:29):
I just think this is an organization that does a
really good job of guys that are that are former
two big guys and then getting them to focus on
one element and becoming a master at one thing instead
of really good at two things. So give me him,
give me Mitch Floyt, pust He's from Michigan.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
Best state there is, well, sir, Uh, I'm gonna go
back to middle infield here, and I'm going to take
Michael Arroyo. Uh, this is a pretty boring pick for
this point in the draft when we're supposed to be
taking kind of deeper cut guys, but we're talking prospect crushes.
He's still on the board. It's kind of y'all's fault
for not taking in more. My fault for going so
top of the chart adjacent either way, this is a

(33:05):
guy who we talked about his hit tool.

Speaker 5 (33:06):
It's been very nice.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
He's progressed according to the level, and when I say
that is we saw a little struggle adjustment. And I
do think that kind of industry wide people have maybe
undersold the power. It's very real. And speaking of what's
very real and very powerful, excellent lettuce on this kid.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
He's a star, and that's what matters if we're being honest.
For my two.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Pictures, I'm heading into the relief world, because why would
I not do that. I'm gonna go first the Miami Marlins.
Righty Nigel Belgrave, fastball slider guy, above average command for reliever,
consistently gets it done out of Maryland. This has been
a quick riser and someone who I think will factor

(33:49):
into the Miami bowlpen as soon as next year. Miami
is the best at developing relief pictures. Right now in
the minor leagues, they have the best performing relievers in
the league. Probably not something that you would think about
in terms of Miami Marlins DEV. Their relief pitching DEV
and pitching DEVI in general is quite fantastic right now.
Obviously not all of them made it the league, so
we will see. Mother pitcher is gonna be Matt McShane

(34:11):
from the Red Sox. He's in high A right now.
He's got that fastball slider just like Belgrave. It's a
very similar profile with even better command for a relief pitcher.
I do care about relief pitcher command because the floor
is just that much higher. He's got really good stuff
and he can throw it in the zone and still
get out. That's what I look for in a reliever.
So Matt McShane will be in the Red Sox pen
in a couple of years.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
I'm looking really quickly for some information just to make
sure that I'm not whiping on something. You guys will
have to forgive me. Okay, yeah, okay, I'm gonna go
in the outfield and to an organization that's just ripe
with talent. This is sarcasm. The Los Angeles Angels. We're
gonna take Hayden Alvarez. This is a guy that I

(34:59):
do really like, and I've read a lot about this
year from people much smarter than me. Honestly, That's how everything.
That's how I come about anything. I'm not very smart.
I come about I come about guys writing about guys,
and then I just itch sticks. Very tall, very well built,
A lot of projection left on this young fella. I
think the hit tool is there, the speed is their

(35:21):
defense is there. So I mean, right now, we could
probably project us like a I don't know, a decent
outfield type, but I mean, if the power just comes
consistently me to the moon, to the moon.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
I'm so pissed.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
I was.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
I just seen him. I like him a lot. Or there.
That's okay, it happens. All right, let's get real weird.
Let's go with DSL guys who are repeating the level.
Steven Martinez he is my guy. He's repeating the level
because last year he was the youngest guy in the
Dominican zumber League. He was sixteen years old, and we're

(35:58):
talking about a guy who is now seventeen yearyears old
and doing really well in the Dominican Sumner League. So
Stephen Martinez is my twelve round selection. Is he really
a middle infielder? No, But like you know, all of
these DSL guys, I don't really know what position they're
gonna play. Let's be honest, We're we're doing a lot
of projection here and then let's see, I don't know
if I want to go with my left handed pitcher.
Do I want to go with my util Yeah, I'm

(36:19):
going with Kevin Alvarez. I told you we're staying in
the DSL. We're getting real weird here. Kevin Alvarez. He
sort of fits the Hayden Alvarez sort of profile, which
I really very much like. Next Edward Ocutero, so might
be saying the power, their speed, good defender in centerfield,
projectable athlete, doesn't walk a lot. But a lot of
guys from Cuba don't tend to walk a lot in
the first stint in the in professional baseball because they've
been you know, they've had to, you know, do their

(36:42):
I don't want to get into the geopolitics of it,
but they've had to kind of they kind of had
to escape, so, you know, you don't. Matt says, you
don't walk your way off the island, and that's true.
That's the truth. So Kevin Alvarez, once he develops that approach,
I'm very excited to see where he goes in the
next couple of years. So give me some more young
dsl guys.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
That's right, because an island is surrounded by water, can't
walk off of it. So Reese, Nate, you guys know
me pretty good.

Speaker 5 (37:06):
What do I like him?

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Pictures Hey, hard, gyro sliders, Tennessee.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
Well, both both things. I like, both things I like.
I'm gonna go with splitter favor one of my favorite pictures.
Gyro Slider is my number favorite.

Speaker 5 (37:23):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
And I also like guys that throw strikes. So tell
me if it surprises you that I really like David
dobb LEO. He's pretty good from the Rangers system. Uh,
really kind of shooting up, strong command, great splitter. I'd
like to see some more Vlo on the fastball. I
think that's kind of where the money is going to
be made for this guy. But yet this season's been.

Speaker 5 (37:43):
An incredible success for him.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
I like him for a lot of the same reasons
I like Santiago Suarez, so it makes sense to choose
him here.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
I thought you were going to take me.

Speaker 5 (37:53):
Yeah, I like you.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
Okay, I could make a prospect.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
Crush team if you'd like seventy six miles an hour.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
My pick is going to be Maxton Martin. In the
Ranger system. We're getting a little weird. We're getting twenty
year olds in single A. He was a eleventh round
pick from the Rangers. Not really a guy who's scraping
eight top thirty lists, but the profiles changed a lot.
The swing adjustments from last year in the Complex to
this year in single A have been tangible. I believe

(38:22):
he's getting to a lot more power for a young guy.
He's got a little bit of speed. The strikeouts have
cut down, the hole in the swing has started to disappear.
He will never hit to eighty in the MLB, But
could he be a big league player someday.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
I believe so.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
My other pick I forgot that we could take guys
that were just drafted. So for my first utility, I'm
gonna go land In Vedric because he's going to be
the best player in this draft somehow, because he's on
the Dodgers and he'll probably get traded for someone and
go be really good. It's just the most tools of
almost anyone in the draft class. And we let the
Dodgers get him because they just took him earlier than

(38:57):
people were expecting. Like it's such a good situation for
land of Doric. It's it reminds me a lot of
I can't believe in blaking on his name, the Davidson outfielder,
No mine, I'll figure it out.

Speaker 3 (39:13):
We'll go to Drew. I'll figure out who I'm talking
about in a second. I threw that.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
What I know, I threw an oop from full court
and that was never gone down.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
Well, I tried catching it, but I just I was
looking in the stand. Somebody had a funnel t.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
It was never happening. As someone willow who I'm thinking of.

Speaker 4 (39:29):
Go ahead, Drew, okay for you till I'm gonna take
a guy in surprise wasn't taken already another Drew Darling.
Caleb Bonnemer very much a Drew player, a ton of contact,
takes walks, makes decent contact. Really, the kind of the
thing with Bonnimber that I'm kind of noticing is he
could stand to be a little more aggressive, honestly, but

(39:50):
that's that's okay.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
I think we can work on that. Gets on base well.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
The White Sox in their middle infielders that I like,
name a more iconic duo.

Speaker 5 (39:59):
I'll wait riese to you, sir, dude.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
I'm I'm freaking struggling over here. I don't know why
I decided to give us such tight restraints on who
we can have. So, yeah, you know who I actually
kind of really like. I just off this left standerd
with Melchis Hernandez. It's good stuff, good organization. I really
like him. It's a really good it's a really good
fast spot. I think that everything sort of plays. I
think the command needs to take a st that forward

(40:23):
for him be someone that I kind of have on
the periphery of my top twenty guardians prospects. So I'm
finishing up that realm. I'll finish type that in and
then from my middle infield spot, I'm going to go
into the Kansas City Royals organization. I love Jon del Ricardo.
I used to be a big what is his name,
Ugarte fan. Yon del Ricardo is just better than him
at this point, So I'm finishing off my guys. Yon

(40:45):
del Ricardo. Welcome to the middle infield for Reese White.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
Love it.

Speaker 4 (40:52):
Okay, So, in typical Drew fashion, I was doing some
silly stuff this whole draft. I've been waiting to say
this guy gets picked.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
He did not.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
I should have known neither of you liked this player.
But this is just an example for all of you
at home.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Stuart, I'm sorry, Sel, Stuart.

Speaker 5 (41:09):
No, uh no, that's that's fine. You guys don't you
guys don't like that.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
I want to make I just wanted to make who
else do me and Reese? Reese, come on, let's guess
this guy. Who else do we like? Who else do
I not like? H Now I could have Hius, Colt Emerson.
He's gonna go way off the board.

Speaker 5 (41:25):
I'm not taking Emerson.

Speaker 4 (41:27):
Although again, you guys have manipulated me slightly into Emerson.
I also also it's it's I'll just I'll ruin the suspense.
It's Spencer Jones, the most Drew god there could be,
because he's got all the tools. I've told you guys forever,
the hit tool is going to be a concern, and
it is.

Speaker 5 (41:44):
Reese says it once an episode of Past the show.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
He has more swing changes than some people change their underwear.
It's a funny one, and it's funny because it's appropriate.
I just wonder if Spencer Jones can make it all
work at the major league level. I think he can.
And the fact that against Uzer Jones was not taken
until my final pick of guys, guys I like, shows
you kind of where people are. He's the most incredibly

(42:07):
divisive prospect we've seen in a long time for good reason.

Speaker 5 (42:10):
Nate final pick.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
Okay, I will let you guys pick my final pick.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
There's a guy named Ryan McCrystal who have been getting
into the last couple of days because his last name
is Mick Crystal. He's all right, probably not a whole
lot going on there, but the name got me intrigued.
I'm actually not gonna do that. I'm gonna go Boston Smith,
who was just drafted by the Washington Nationals. Nationals catcher,
you know, that's a great archetype to start off.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
We love that.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
Will he be a catcher who knows it's actually a
pretty athletic guy. He's a smaller kind of thumb build.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
That was mean.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
He's a great baseball player, though he led d one
in home runs last year with twenty six at Wright State,
and he got taken in the sixth round for fifty grand.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
I was not convinced he was going to get picked.

Speaker 1 (42:59):
Washington and got him really early because clearly they really
liked him, which backed up everything I had been feeling
about Boston Smith, Like, Okay, Orges, do you like this guy?
He was obviously a senior when he got drafted, but
a guy who could steal ten bags and at fifteen
home runs in a split role catcher if everything went
really right. And I think that's, uh, that's fun. So
that's where to Tacoma. So yeah, that might have been

(43:22):
an aggressive split time projection. But he's got loud tools.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
He's just not a great catcher, so we'll see where
he ends up.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
Ryan mc crystal is a really incredibly bizarre player. But
this is an interesting profile.

Speaker 5 (43:33):
And Nate good call.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
All right, let's let's do let's do one quick. I'll
do it in like five words or less, honorable mention.
I'm gonna go Ramon Ramirez. Royal's catcher might not hit.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
I'll just off anyone you got left on your board
if you want.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
Oh well, I won't do all that.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
That's gonna take forever. I've got quite a few.

Speaker 4 (43:58):
Joseph Sullivan could be sick.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (44:05):
Joe Mack has a sick name run Escobars of the Mac. Yeah, sorry,
I don't I don't follow the rules. And almost one
of the Nate nan keel in there from my brother
Nate Connolly early low key sick name. I just think
those ras pictures for me, I think the other Red
Sox pitchers are better.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
That doesn't mean he's not good.

Speaker 5 (44:25):
On that line.

Speaker 4 (44:27):
Ironsen has disgusting secondary pitches.

Speaker 1 (44:31):
Yeah yeah, Red Sox are fun. But hey, that's our
prospect crush draft. I think we kind of ran out
of steam at some point. How many prospects did we
take those fifteen rounds? Forty five guys?

Speaker 2 (44:41):
Prospects?

Speaker 1 (44:42):
It's not too bad for thirty forty minutes. So yeah,
if you guys have any questions on guys, if you
want to drop your own prospect crush teams in the comments, do.

Speaker 3 (44:50):
Whatever you gotta do.

Speaker 1 (44:51):
We'll say that we'll be tweeting this out, trying to
make it a little thing and try and get your
guys' thoughts on these teams, but I think we did
a pretty good job.

Speaker 3 (44:58):
Guys, shut it with us, Well done, go us.

Speaker 1 (45:02):
Now it's time to have fun and relax, so we'll
see you on the other side of this break. You'll
listen to some drop teams right now, and then we'll
talk about what's on our minds.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Thank you to the drop teams for that fantastic musical interlude.
We have what's going on over at PE Live. So
that's a lot going on over at PE Live. We're
going to be updating the Top one hundred that's going
to be coming out at some point this week. We're
going to be re racking the top twenties. Nate has
informed you he is not doing anything, so I am
sending that over to our bosses. With the Dynasty Baseball
pickup guys, they are continuing to roll on. We have
the Daily Sheets rolling along. We have so much rolling along.

(45:43):
We're just going to keep doing rolling along. Joe Lowry
released a fantastic reed trading cards and trading stories insert
story here. Tom Gates is going to be doing a
three up, three down series at some point, and you know,
we just have so much going on in Prospects Live.
I don't believe I think we have. I don't know
if we have any more Dynasty pickups or not. Dynasty
pick us Dynasty Baseball updates coming up soon, But you know, Drew,

(46:05):
that's gonna be one of your favorite times of the year.
And with that, what's on your mind? Uh? Nate? Uh?
Do you want to do you have two things on
your mind?

Speaker 3 (46:13):
Or yeah? I think I got I got a bunch
of stuff on my mind. Apparently.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
Now, first of all, reach just right up a great
point which you can now say on air.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
What did you just say to us or to me?

Speaker 2 (46:22):
I guess car?

Speaker 3 (46:23):
What sort of car do you drive? So you assumed
I drove a truck.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
I assume you drive a truck or a super there's
no in between. I think we have or you drive
that stupid Have you guys seen them? They are these
high on day like half truck half super hybrid things,
like the dumbest looking car I've ever seen. They make
no sense. They have like it looks like half of
a super and then they add like the smallest truck
bed you'll you'll ever see. So, yeah, what's on what
what sort of card?

Speaker 3 (46:47):
I want to figure out what cars? We all drive.
I think we have to somehow play.

Speaker 5 (46:51):
I think we should.

Speaker 4 (46:52):
I think we should each guess forever. So like, was
Reese your guest for Nate was a truck or a
super route? Yeah, okay, I'm gonna guess for Nate that
Nate drives either a a Nissan.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
Ultima or I wouldn't wish that up on my worst enemy.

Speaker 4 (47:13):
Or Nate's such a jeep grand Cherokee guy. Never mind,
it's got to.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
Be that.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
Reese you drive. You drive an Ultima?

Speaker 2 (47:28):
No, God, no, I don't want to have a car.
It deal with transmission issues every fifteen miles.

Speaker 4 (47:36):
Reese is gonna be Reese is gonna be a small truck.
I think Reese is gonna I'm leaning towards like or
maybe a mid rate Toyota's a coma for Reese.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
I wish can I I this cannot be taken of
the fence.

Speaker 4 (47:54):
Drew.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
I think you drive a Prius, and I don't think
I'm too far off. I think you're somewhere in the
Prius range.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
Realm.

Speaker 5 (48:01):
There's nothing I want to take a fix to that.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
I don't know. The priests have negative connotations now, Drew.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Drew is saving if he does have a Prius he's driving,
saving so much money on gas.

Speaker 4 (48:15):
The days.

Speaker 5 (48:16):
What's what's your guest for me?

Speaker 2 (48:17):
What's my guest for Drew? He mentioned nis On Ultima
and he didn't. I'm gonna go with the niss On Altima.
Drew likes to send his car into the shop to
be have the transmission to be fixed every fifteen mins.

Speaker 5 (48:28):
My favorite thing.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Every week, right before we do do path the show,
he has to go take his piece on Ultimateticife.

Speaker 4 (48:36):
That's that's why I come in in such a down
mood that I have to get lifted up from recording
the show.

Speaker 3 (48:41):
No, no, no, what do you drive?

Speaker 5 (48:44):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (48:44):
So, you guys were both way off. I drive a
two thousand and seven Ford.

Speaker 5 (48:49):
F one fifty. Yeah. Yes, so.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
I my uncle that I've discussed several times on here,
the White Sox fan and bartender who passed away several
years ago. He actually left me his truck when he died,
and so I drive his truck kind of in memory
of him. I am not a truck guy, but it's
coming handy so often. Living in the South, you never
know when you need to haul something or haul somebody,

(49:15):
and so it's it's not bad, but I prefer to
drive the car that Mallory and I own together, which
is a Mazda X five. It's just a little kind
of mid ray hatchback.

Speaker 5 (49:25):
It's nice. Mallory tells me.

Speaker 4 (49:27):
I'm very much a super rue guy, though, So that's
interesting that you guys pegged me as prius.

Speaker 5 (49:32):
So, Nate, what do you drive?

Speaker 3 (49:34):
I drive a Honda HRV. That's I could say that
Honda family.

Speaker 1 (49:39):
It gets you or it needs to go fuel efficient enough,
has enough room for things.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
It is just the most boring car of all time,
but it works and it does the job. What'd you say?

Speaker 2 (49:52):
I got your beat Honda fit.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
Oh so we're in the same realm though.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yeah, it's it's fine. Nick kis good gasping.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
I almost got I almost got one.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
When I was looking at cars, they're they're not bad.
Is it the most fun card?

Speaker 4 (50:05):
Now?

Speaker 2 (50:05):
It's actually it's actually kind of like driving a go
card everywhere. It's got some it's got some surprising gidiot
behind it. So just a little guy, Yeah, yeah, just
a little guy. I can't really carry anything in it.
I think we're possibly talking about maybe a RAV four
Arab four sort of fits my you know, being able
to go outdoors. Uh stuff. I would like a land cruiser,
but I don't want to pay land cruiser prices. If

(50:27):
any if my one friend who works at Toyota Dealership
that I know is listening to this, hook me up
with a deal the Lankers. The new land Cruiser is
very nice. So yeah, I'm hon to fit.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
Okay, that's enough for my what's on your mind?

Speaker 1 (50:39):
Also, shout out to recent Drew made me a great
hinge and I have gone on my first very successful date,
so we might be one and done here.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
Boys.

Speaker 1 (50:48):
I mean, congratulations to you two. That's you talked to
big game and you have delivered. I mean, that's first
day of my life.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
I would say. So credit credit to the fellow.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
Draft worse first dates because I got I've got some stories.
I think I've told the one where I went on
a date with someone and she left with her baby daddy.
That was That was a rough for the.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
Men for the If you want to pivot your draft topic, rease,
we're not against you can think about that and Drew,
what's on your mind?

Speaker 5 (51:14):
Okay, So.

Speaker 4 (51:18):
We've talked about it kind of flippantly. Uh, we are
as the Reddit streets will tell you we're.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
All nerds, So no, I'm just a nerd.

Speaker 4 (51:27):
Apparently I'll take I'll wear that sheet with pride with you.

Speaker 5 (51:31):
I just I don't want you to be alone in that.

Speaker 4 (51:32):
So anyway, I very much we like Pokemon, nerd culture,
all this stuff. But I I really am into the idea.

Speaker 5 (51:41):
Of playing Dungeons and Dragons, but have never played. Let me,
I lied.

Speaker 4 (51:45):
I played once half of a half of a session
at a local game shop, and I think it was
like a one and done, nonsense thing, so I didn't
get to like really immerse myself in it. But I
know enough about kind of the culture, the cares the gameplay,
and have the equipment to play, and just haven't.

Speaker 5 (52:04):
So I was.

Speaker 4 (52:05):
Curious though, because I know you both are relatively experienced
with D and D. If you had to tell me
what personality or character or class whatever like the races,
if you had to tell me what would fit me, what.

Speaker 5 (52:18):
Would you assign for me? Please, there's no wrong answers.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
I'm an avid Dungeons and Dragons player. I play once
a week. I play with He's never been on the podcast,
but friend of the podcast, Jeff ponts once a week. Well,
actually we took a little bit of a time off.
This is personal stuff. Anyways, I'm going to go with Drew.
You're a bar you like, you do a lot of
different stuff, and you know, it just depends on the

(52:43):
campaign you want to play. We're gonna be a real
nerdy here, but you know you're You're a fun, lively person.
You you are an all times vibes guy, and a
Bard is the ultimate all times vibes guy. So I
think that's when that's the class that you're gonna play as.
And then as far as your race goes, I don't
know that's a good question. I don't really think that
far far ahead. But I when when you mentioned D

(53:05):
and D, I was like, barred for sure.

Speaker 3 (53:08):
Okay, Rece, have you ever played with the Monk before?

Speaker 2 (53:13):
I have played with the Monk. I played in it.
I played in two campaigns. But the monk is really fun.

Speaker 1 (53:18):
I've never played with a monk, is what I'm just
realizing right now. I was gonna go a paladin for Drew.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
I like that too.

Speaker 3 (53:25):
I was thinking, cool guys are always the paladin. I think.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
I think because you Drew, you'd undoubtedly, undoubtedly be one
of the the You would be the life of the
d D group if for being honest here, I think
that you would get so into it and I we're
gonna play now, and this is actually going to turn
into a call for help PEE Live guys, because you're
the only ones watching the episode this far other than
my parents. Who wants to start running? Who wants to
start running Dungeons and Dragons at Kyle? I I'll joined,

(53:51):
Adam join. I don't want to be the dungeon master.
I hate I don't all join things like.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
It's just like I always think we should do it
like a football league stuff. I don't want be the
commissioner that I don't. I want to just show.

Speaker 4 (54:01):
Up and.

Speaker 3 (54:03):
I would. I would, I would, I would lead the
charge on this. Would you I would?

Speaker 2 (54:07):
I think record the sessions as a podcast.

Speaker 5 (54:10):
I was gonna say.

Speaker 4 (54:10):
I think something else we need to do here is
please let us know if you are a p live sub,
would you want at a certain tier to be able
to watch streams of our sessions, because that's something that
would you like to join?

Speaker 1 (54:22):
Would you like to join if you are a baseball guy,
and you if you are like us. You're watching this,
you're probably like us, and you want to play D
and D with us. Let's do it, man, I don't know,
spent a lot of time.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
To kill this off season. We can do it on
the YouTube channel. We can do it all a lot.
We can do it on a discord voice chat. That's
what we do when I play.

Speaker 1 (54:40):
So I always love talking to these guys and that
extends like the Wills and the Kyles and everyone else
at PE Live.

Speaker 3 (54:47):
You know, it's always a fun time. Why not do
a non baseball thing.

Speaker 5 (54:50):
Agreed?

Speaker 1 (54:51):
But yeah, Paladin was the first thing I thought of
for you, Drew. I think that's typically the leader of
groups that I've played in, and it's a pretty well
rounded character. Okay, So yeah, I think that you would.
You would have to have like a funny name and stuff, though.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
I like to I have. Mine is for one of
my is May brass Valeria, which is a minor league
baseball prospect who used to play for the Cleveland Guardian system.
And I was like, that is a great name. I
just look out best names in my league baseball and
that was what I came up with.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
So I think you'd probably have to be like a
dwarf for a gnome to drew, because you kind of
look like you could be in like the Hobbit movies.
Like in the best way possible, you remind me a.

Speaker 2 (55:34):
Little bit of a real insulting real quick noose the high.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
I don't like to have a movies. Lord of the
Rings my favorite franchise ever. I just watched the extend
Editions for the one hundredth time. And you have some
movie you have some like fun dwarf to you because
they're the funniest.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
I don't know. I'm on a tangent now.

Speaker 4 (55:49):
No, I've never watched Lord of the Rings, so that's interesting.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
I've never watched it, but I've read the books.

Speaker 3 (55:55):
You guys haven't watched Lord of the Rings. I have
a Lord of the Rings map in my apartment. That's
how much. That's my nerdiest thing about me.

Speaker 5 (56:01):
That's really cool.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Though you're saying than playing to New Zealand.

Speaker 3 (56:05):
I think those are both on the list.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
Man, So I'm looking up pictures of paladins now they
are wild.

Speaker 5 (56:14):
Man.

Speaker 4 (56:14):
This car right here's got wings and armor, and dude
looks insane. I do think that a bard would be
kind of funny because I do love singing and like musicals.
It's kind of not musicals, but like musical elements and
serious situations.

Speaker 5 (56:28):
It always makes me laugh.

Speaker 4 (56:32):
I watched the episode of Always Sonny where the game
turned black yesterday, and the fact that they have to
burst out into song when the music plays. It kills
me every time.

Speaker 5 (56:41):
What are the rules?

Speaker 4 (56:43):
What are the rules?

Speaker 5 (56:45):
It's hysterical.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
So okay, thank you both very much. And again, if
you're a sub, if you're a member of the staff,
if you're a fellow baseball person and you're interested in
playing or watching or whatever, please let us know because
that would be.

Speaker 5 (56:56):
A lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (56:58):
We're making another YouTube channel. Boys.

Speaker 5 (57:01):
Okay, that sounds good. So that's I.

Speaker 4 (57:04):
Yes, Reese, that's gonna bring us to you for assuming
a draft.

Speaker 5 (57:08):
I'm struggling.

Speaker 2 (57:09):
I'm struggling to come up with the draft order because
I think you could just run away at the draft honestly,
at a certain point, Okay, we are going to draft condiments.
So I went to a restaurant sometimes I do that,
and I got French fries and I thought to myself, Okay,
what's the best condiment for fries? So we're gonna draft
what do we wanted the draft order as because I

(57:29):
feel like and this one, I think two gets kind
of shafted a lot. I'll because you don't. There's no
rap at all. I want to you want to want?

Speaker 4 (57:40):
Okay, I know I know what you want, and I'm
not gonna draft it.

Speaker 5 (57:46):
Nate might.

Speaker 4 (57:46):
So if you want your number one, I recommend you
take number one.

Speaker 2 (57:49):
I'm not actually gonna go with that. I will, I will,
I'll go first, but it won't be for what you
guys think. Okay, I do have I'll I'll tell after
it's picked, I'll tell some I like, will I lose
my mind if if I order it and it doesn't
come with my food? All right, Okay, I am going
to go with Chipotle mayonnaise as the first overall selection.

(58:11):
It is perfect. It is spice, It is a little
bit of spice, is a little bit of sweetness to it.
It is the perfect depth, a perfect condiment. So Chipotle mayo,
what is a condiment we can get as weird as
we want? We did we we didn't really have any
parameters for this draft. We just did. So let's how
are you gonna do salsa or beand like if you
do bean de it, we're just gonna end it. I

(58:33):
almost salsa. I will not be taking salsa. Aca is
actually a good Salsa is a good condiment.

Speaker 1 (58:39):
I've taken salsa three times. I believe in drafts already
this year and we're only twenty six episodes in four Okay,
I'm gonna go catch up.

Speaker 4 (58:46):
It's I was encouraging you to take it a fourth time.

Speaker 5 (58:48):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (58:49):
Oh, okay, No, I'm gonna go catch up. I don't.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
It's the most firsatile it can go in almost anything.
I'm gonna catch up with breakfast food kind of guy.
I'm a notorious glizzy guy. People in the streets of
Eugene know me as the guy who eats like three
glizzies from the hot dog stand after going out.

Speaker 3 (59:10):
There's one right by my house.

Speaker 1 (59:13):
And uh, while you you walk home from the bar,
you see the hot dog standard Like two isn't enough,
I'm gonna do three this time.

Speaker 2 (59:20):
How are the hot dogs in Eugene? Like what how
do they come? Like? I love going to like a
concert in La or San Diego, and you get the
bacon wrapped hot dogs with on the griddle with the
onions and the peppers.

Speaker 3 (59:30):
It's so good.

Speaker 1 (59:31):
Seattle hot dogs our next level because they're a little charges,
they're they're made on some disgusting George Foreman grill that
like a man who's barely employed is flipping and you're
just like, I might die. But it also is gonna
taste more. Don't get food poisoning. Eugene's a little more
toned down, but I'm a dog guy. Sorry, catch up tangent,

(59:54):
I like that.

Speaker 5 (59:54):
Pick a lot.

Speaker 4 (59:56):
Okay, Well, then if it's just gonna sit there in
front of me, I guess I'm gonna take.

Speaker 5 (01:00:02):
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
Honey Mustard is my number one again, versatile, so good, taste, great,
goes with everything. And then again, since you just left
it there, I'll take ranch because I mean certain. The
thing with the condiment is that if it goes good
with everything, that's a good choice. But if it's if
a dish is missing without it, it makes.

Speaker 5 (01:00:23):
Any even better choice.

Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
Certain dishes I will missing without Ranch.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
I will not eat pizza without Ranch. I have to
have it like I have to dip it in the ranch, like, oh,
I love ranch so much, it's so good.

Speaker 5 (01:00:33):
Sorry, I had to do it to you, buddy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
That's fine. Chilo was sitting there is the best option. Name,
it's your second Roundebeck.

Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
Tariokee sauce, anyone interesting? I love TARIOKEI sauce. Man.

Speaker 1 (01:00:49):
I don't know there were some other ones in there
I could have taken. That's when I look at this list.
The thing that I would want most right now, if
I had something in front of me, would be Tariokey sauce.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
I don't know. I'm not gonna keep I'm gonna stop
packing to your turn.

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
Oh, I don't know how m M. This is tough
because it's like, how do I want to go? Towlly mail.
I think it was just such a great pick. Let's
just sitting there for me. I don't I'm not a
ketchup guy. I actually despise ketchup. If I if I
smell it in the same room as me, I gag
like I cannot do it. I like honey mustard, I
like a ranch. I'm gonna go with just classic barbecue sauce.

(01:01:27):
Barbecue sauce is such a good, good dip for everything.
If I if I don't, if the place doesn't have ranch,
bullet mayo, I'll do barbecue sauce.

Speaker 5 (01:01:35):
That was a good pick.

Speaker 4 (01:01:36):
Barbecue is always good.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
Safe, and there's a different bunch of ways you can go.
There's a spicy version, you know, there's like every every
region has their own version of barbecue sauce. So I mean,
Charioquey sauce is kind of just but Pacific Northwest version
of barbecue sauce.

Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
So we get down. It's on BBQ, but obviously not
not the same. I think you have one more picker,
you don't you?

Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
Oh crap, I am, I'm doing so good? Okay, how
do I want to go about this? Is it a question?
Because I don't even know how I want to go
about this is why I'm asking dude, what is ranch
was taken? Which really devastates me.

Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
Oh m.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
Hm oh, I'm just gonna go with like fry sauce.
I don't know if you guys have that way. It's
like very big in Utah and in other places where
they don't. It's basically raising kne sauce. Every every restaurant
has their own version. It's gonna go fry sauce because
we are dipping these and fries. We're dipping fries into this,
so fry sauces. It's just mayonnaise and ketchup and whatever
sort of else you want to add to it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:46):
I'm gonna go siracha, so good. Sirach and ketchup go
really well together on eggs. I don't know, I like siracha.
I'm not the biggest spice guy. Sat is perfect for me.
I like dainty spice.

Speaker 5 (01:03:02):
That's the missing spice girl.

Speaker 4 (01:03:04):
Yeah, okay, Well, uh this has left me in an
interesting place, guys, because I'm gonna end up with the
top four on my board. Uh okay, I'll take buffalo
sauce right here.

Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
Frank that yeah, absolutely, So when you go to a restaurant,
you order it a thing of buffalo sauce for your Okay,
if all of these are taken, then yeah, that's wait,
we're talking about dipping in fries only, well, dipping anything.
I'm just thinking in general, using fries as like the
blank canvas for because I'm.

Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
Looking at like nuggets, strips, chicken paraphernalia, I think, and
I mean I have.

Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
I'm looking at in general buffalo sauce.

Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
It's always looking at me, all right.

Speaker 4 (01:03:55):
And then for my second one, I'm gonna go sweet
and sour sauce. It shouldn't have lasted this long. Like, hello,
that's that's a that's that's.

Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
A no brainer, guys, sour sauce guy Nate, I don't
know if I have taken in this draft.

Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
It's not bad.

Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
I think there's more sauces that are good than are
going to be taken. I think that that is my
least favorite sauce has been drafted so far. If that,
if that is allowed, all right, let's get weird maple
syrup boocket.

Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
Oh is it not a condiment? I like it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
I've never a food draft. I'll never win a food draft,
so I have.

Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
To actually don't. I don't mind your I'm gonna go. Okay,
this is a good food draft for you. Mate, I'm
between two. I'm I'm not having a good food draft
if I did not expect to go this way. I'm
gonna go with chili crist Have you guys had chili
crist before? It is so good chili. I'm gonna go

(01:04:53):
with it. So it's like, yeah, and some somebody's called
chili crest. Some people call it chili oil. When we
have a jar, we eat it in like two or
three days. So like we just added on top of everything.
Eggs fantastic. You can fry it up, you can fry
eggs up in it, you can dip anything into it. It
just makes everything that much better. A's a little bit
of spice, that's a little bit of garlicy flavor. So
so I have to add a little bit. I have

(01:05:14):
to take some benadryl because I'm allergic to garlics. So
but it's worth it. I will, I will always endeavor
into it.

Speaker 5 (01:05:21):
I think this was a good one. I feel good
about it.

Speaker 4 (01:05:23):
But I do have some also rans if we have
me too. Yeah, okay, So my first also rand is
going to be Polynesian sauce from Chick fil A.

Speaker 5 (01:05:31):
Outstanding.

Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
Second one my favorite Chick fil A sauce, avocado lime ranch.
It's fabulous, so good with my favorite Chick fil A meal.
And then my third one maybe a little too Southern
for either of you, but gravy with like white gravy
with like chicken strips with French fries. It's tremendous and
it's also cultural for me. So those are my also rants.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
My ulcer sauce, Oh, chocolate syrup is not bad. Carter sauce,
sweet chili sauce, and general and then pesto. I've been
places where they give you a pisto for to dip in.
Pesto is a really good dip. I didn't want to.
I didn't know if that would have caused controversy, so
I didn't add it into my draft list. But I

(01:06:13):
like the way my draft board came out.

Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Go ahead, I'm sorry, Oh no, I just have two
cultural options hoison sauce, peanut sauce, peanutaud. I like those
A lot a lot of good sauces we're coming to find.

Speaker 4 (01:06:29):
I like Alfredo sauce is kind of an underrated shout
as well. I mean Alfredo sauce with like a breadstick.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Is bang bang bang sauce is good.

Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
Ye, well, a lot of good sauces out there.

Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
